I found and booked this hotel through Booking.com. And being my first ever visit to the "windy city," I thought, "Why not?" The hotel is located on a quiet side street off Wentworth Ave in Chinatown. It is also located two blocks from the CTA's Cermak station. The hotel is small with three floors and 30 rooms and can also be mistaken from an apartment building. The main floor is the lobby where the service desk is. The same floor has a small kitchen, that's it. On the second floor is where my room is for my three nights. For $290 for the three nights, I get a small room with a king bed, a small closet, and a small bathroom with a cramp standing shower room. The hotel's WiFi is strong to make up for the hotel room's 32-inch TV. For a solo traveler, I am simple, and that is all I need. I don't need any of the other offerings that other hotels have. Outside the hotel and just within 500 feet, there is Wentworth Street, with many businesses open past 8pm (Chicago time). You can literally walk to Chinatown with your pajamas and slippers to grab a quick bite. Though it is not recommended in cold and snowy January, There are two other hotels in Chinatown, one being located on Wentworth Ave and another one on busy Cermak Road; both are located on busy corridors. But the Chinatown Hotel is located on a side street where it is quiet at night with less traffic. Plus, I try my best to help out the smaller hotels during these tough times.

Visit date: Memorial Day Weekend, 2022 Room: 108 Title: All factors considered, it's pretty good I stayed here for 4 nights through Memorial Day weekend. With _ALL_ taxes and fees accounted for, the price came out to $105.50 per night. Considering the prime location, this was an extremely good deal. At the time I booked (around 2 months before my visit), most hotels in the area were advertised upwards of $150/night. The room is humble, and really only comes with the basic essentials. The only sort of luxury you'll find in the room is a television set, but they're 32" 720p (Model #NS-32D310NAS21) , so you're likely not going to use them. Put frankly, this is the kind of hotel you'd use if you're just needing a place to spend the night -- and for what I needed -- it fit perfectly. There's Ethernet and Wi-Fi, but the WiFi signal was terrible in my room, I got a whopping 100ms ping, with 1.79 Mbps down and 1.90 Mbps up. Again, this didn't really matter to me, as I just needed a place to sleep. The shower was warm, but the water pressure was pretty meager. I found the front desk staff to be fairly friendly on the times I needed to interact with them, so I appreciate that. All in all: this is the perfect southern Chicago hotel for the single budget-conscious traveller.

    Basic and clean!

Located off the red line just south of downtown (Cermak Station), I didn't expect to like this hotel. But it served its purpose well...a decent place to shower and sleep. No frills, but not scummy or unsafe in feeling. The reception area is manned by usually just one lady, but I never saw a lineup. In fact, I hardly saw any other hotel-goers at all. There are no elevators, just a narrow carpeted staircase that might be a bit tough to get big luggage up or if you have mobility issues. The room I booked had a queen bed, television, and not much else. The bed was good and there was an individual air conditioning unit which I never used because it had good enough ventilation. The view was of a brick wall so I had the drapes closed all the time. Plenty of sockets to charge your phone and whatever else you might need to plug in. The washroom was huge, even bigger than the one I have at home. Shower only, but the pressure and hot water worked just fine. Be wary of the ledge as you step out of the shower, and the fact that there is no rug in there, just slippery tile. Towels were replaced daily though they were a bit icky in quality. Though there are no restaurant facilities, the hotel is located in Chinatown so there are PLENTY of choices of food around, some open til late. Not a lot of choices for coffee in the immediate area, but there is a Starbucks around the corner. Though the area is generally safe, as you venture out of the main drag, the streets get dark and somewhat sketchy after dark so be careful (nothing to see in those areas anyways). Great access to the red line (just across the main street) which connects you to any line you want to take you anywhere in Chicago. If you are going to the airport, get off at Roosevelt to take the orange line to Midway, or Jackson to take the blue to O'hare. I'd go to this hotel again...cheap and cheerful

I had a pleasant experience staying here . Everybody was really friendly, even the guy who kept buzzing me in when I came back at 4am every night. This hotel is really cheap. It cost me less than four hundred bucks to stay here four night. Everywhere else I called was three hundred for a single night. I even called in my Armenian connections and the best they could do was two hundred for places fifteen miles away(I forgot this isn't la). This hotel is a block and a half from the red line. If you stay here you are 15 minutes away from any part of the city. It's not the fanciest place, some would even call it divvy. The beds and furniture are antique, not on purpose. A very small TV in each room. There are no good views , no great room service, no amazing hotel lobby. Basically, don't come here if it's your shitty honeymoon and want all the best amenities. Do come here if you want a place to sleep while exploring a very entertaining city. I spent less than 6 hours a day here sleeping. Why would I pay three hundred bucks a night for that. If you're a night owl and come back late(the red and blue line will run all night) there are a ton of greasy Chinese restaurants around the corner that will make you regret your night in the mourning. The only bad thing about this neighborhood is there are no good coffee places. I got some this morning at a Chinese bakery, it was less than ok. I booked here because of the bad reviews, and I can tell you I've been to much worse places than this. In fact I wouldn't even call this a bad place just a throwback to a time where a guy can afford to sleep in a room in an expensive city.

Let's be frank: if you're a low-income student, traveling on a budget or just need a place to hang your hat for a few hours after you've lived it up in Chi-Town for a day and night, the Chinatown Hotel might be for you. The room is probably not much larger than 200 square feet, but it's got a bed, a closet, a warm shower and a flat screen TV. In other words, it makes no pretense that it has anything more than just the basics. We thought it might have been a boarding house at one time--no biggie. The carpet is of the indoor/outdoor variety so you can conduct a scrimmage or spill your drink on it and not feel guilty. The A/C is of the glorified window type and there is a heat radiator on wheels. We used neither. Something unique is the door key: it's not a key card or traditional serrated brass key. Rather, it looked to us more like a G.I. dog tag. Just insert it into a slot under the doorknob and the door will magically open. The dead bold inside provides additional security. There is no in-room hair dryer but if you're a hostel traveler, you'll dig the common room with kitchen and eating area. The hotel is located in Chinatown with a market across the street: buy and cook your own. Or make use of the plethora of Asian restaurants at your front door. If you have high expectations about your accommodations, go elsewhere. But if you're a value shopper just looking to stay out of the Chicago wind at night, consider the Chinatown Hotel and get a flair for the local culture while your at it. The front desk peeps were fine and English is not their first language so exhibit some patience and class when communicating. The place is easy to get to with mass transportation.

    Gross stuff and broken carpet

One night stay on 3/5/22. This hotel is absolutely unjustifiably bad, what a horrible dump. Zero stars if I could. The only thing acceptable was the lobby and staff. Room 102: TV did not work, ceiling light half broken, no bedside lights, no desk light, instead of chair there is a low round stool that was sagging so badly that it was impossible to use the desk, plugs in the desk didn't work, room had only 1 outlet, closet has no doors, closet had only 1 hanger, sink is cracked, toilet seat heavily discolored and gross, carpet is ripped, curtains heavily stained and corners off the rails, wall art has warped frame, mold in shower, stains in bed linens, room smells like sigaret smoke, very noisy right outside, very noisy inside, people talking quietly can be overheard word for word. This room gives you the idea that no single effort was made to welcome you in any way. The place exudes misery, disrespect and disdain for guests. This place deserves no stars at all, no gratitude. It is an absolute dump. Shameful. This just enrages anyone.

Horrible scary dirty rude staff hotel. Regardless of if you are staying one night and won't be in the room, still disgusting! Staff was horribly rude because the third party website I booked through said the hotel would accommodate the number of people to a room which was in fact 2 people which can sleep on one bed but it was me and my brother :( I told him this and he said that what I was saying was not true as far as 2 beds and he could show me order. Instead of instantly fighting back her should have been professional. Looks like the type of hotel you would go if you were on the run. 4 thumbs down for me. Will not return or recommend.

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

Our view was stunning and I loved I could see downtown and the river from our room. We booked the cinema suite for a cute movie night and I loved that. They had a cute popcorn station with candy and pop, plus you can order room service. The spa was amazing and the facilities were nice.

My wife and I are finally reflecting on our stay at The Langham, Chicago, from June 2021, when we…read moregot married and spent a few nights there with family. Although we grew up in the Chicago suburbs and know the city well, it was our first time staying at the Langham, and it left a strong impression. The most striking aspect was how spacious the room felt. We likely stayed in a Premier Room, which was quite large by city standards. The bed was massive, very comfortable, and just the right firmness. A detail that stands out is the space between the foot of the bed and the wall where the TV was mounted, which makes the room feel open and calm rather than cramped. The décor was elegant without feeling stuffy, highlighted by thoughtful touches like an espresso machine. The bathroom was another highlight: the frosted-glass window offered privacy while maintaining a sense of connection, and the rain shower had excellent water pressure and felt indulgent. The location is fantastic, convenient for work in the Loop, time in Grant Park, shopping on Michigan Avenue, or dining in River North or Fulton Market. During our trip, we ate nearby both nights, which made getting around easy and stress-free. The staff was warm and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast at the hotel restaurant was memorable, even if the details are a bit hazy now. The lobby is beautiful, and several family members who stayed with us also commented on how much they enjoyed the hotel. At the time, pricing felt mid-range for a luxury hotel in Chicago, offering excellent value. It was summer, likely a less expensive time to visit, but even so, considering the room size, comfort, service, and location, it seemed like money well spent year-round. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We would happily return and are eager to explore other Langham properties worldwide.

While not…read moreluxury, the hotel was very nice and comfortable, and the location was central to our wedding happenings. Everything was great until I checked out and discovered that I had been charged $88 per night for parking. That was quite unexpected. I had been in Chicago just a few months earlier and had paid $55 at the L7 Hotel. So I was shocked that the JW could charge so much. How is their valet parking better than the valet parking at the L7? I realize now that had I been traveling alone, and not with my family, it would have been cheaper to fly to Chicago, than drive the 4.5 hours from Ohio. Apparently the hospitality industry hasn't caught on to the current affordability crisis, or at least Marriott hasn't.

Check in is quick, rooms are fine (and clean), and the executive lounge is nice. I was warned about eating in the bar on the first floor, which I hadn't done in a few years, but it was getting late, and the weather stunk. I saw friends in the bar area, so I took root at the table nearby. Service was fine, and I enjoyed a few of the Amber bee on draft. The menu looked good, and I ended up with a steak fried rice bowl. The steak was gross. It didn't even look like steak that should be served. It was fatty and tasteless. I ate less than 1/2 the rice and 1/3 of the steak. I wasn't starving, so it wasn't a huge deal, but those who told me to avoid the bar area for food were right.

I've been to Miru many times and finally got to try out the hotel for a staycation…read more Pros: -I loved that they had two restaurant options in the hotel. Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . Might choose the park view next time. I'd also recommend not facing the river as there was lots of honking/noise. -the room layout was awkward. They have this huge desk between the bed and tv. The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.

So, walking from the Blackbawks shop when it's 20° isn't an easy task. Also, I wasn't able to try the Tre Dita since I didn't book a reservation in advance. Hopefully, I can schedule a reservation in the future. Plus, since it was mid-December, the St Regis had their third annual 12 Days of Sabrage, which guests of honor perform the evening ritual of champagne sabrage, which celebrates the transition from day to night. They offered complimentary toast of champagne and a Vosges Haut-Chocolate truffle. The hotel encouraged everyone to bring a new or lightly used winter clothing for children in need.
