My favorite Chinese Place EVER! I have gone here for years and years. My whole family does. I never go anywhere else for Chicken Fried Rice. The owner is ADORABLE! Knows me by name, knows my family, is SO kind and genuinely interested in providing wonderful customer service. I call and just by the caller ID he answers with "Hi Cathy How are you!" (Maybe its a sign I go too often but even when I lived in Michigan for 5 years and would come back every few months he would remember me and ask me how school is and if I'm home for break etc) makes me smile every time. Delicious food - always fresh. The vegetables in the dishes are wonderful! They always have a good crispness to them. The owners are friendly and prompt. If you are on the go and are looking for a location to get great tasting Chinese food- GO HERE!! I don't know what those few extremely negative reviews are about, but my friends and I have experienced nothing but good, clean service from this place. The food is really affordable, and you get enormous portions. The governor's chicken is my favorite, and you can substitute the ordinary side of rice for the lo mein noodles, which are amazing. The one man who is always at the front taking orders is extremely funny and friendly. I can't think of enough great things to say about this place. If I could give them less I would. We ordered our food at 5:20 and it is currently 7:00 and we still don't have our food. We have been told four times that "it's on it's way" and "he's almost there". Do not go here unless you have an hour to wait for average Chinese food. The first time I ordered it took over one hour and 10 minutes. From the time I placed my order until the time I got my food. I waited 2 months and thought I would give them another chance. Tonight they did improve, it was an hour and 7 minutes. They seem to take easy walk in orders over online orders. Best carry out Chinese place in the Des Plaines/ Mount Prospect area!!! I have never been dissapointed with the food quality here, whereas at some of the other, similar places, the food is sometimes hit or miss. My meal of choice is General Tso's chicken with a side of Lo mein noodles (the noodles are exceptional!) and they give really good egg rolls too. Food is fast, inexpensive and they deliver too! Food is not overly greasy either. They accept credit card also, even my annoying Discover card, which is not accepted at some smaller places. This is the only place I go to for Chinese! read more

Out of all the local Chinese restaurants, I've found the best Chicken Chow Fun here! The service is always friendly and prompt, which I really appreciate. Food is good but service is terrible. Ordered food for delivery and after 1.5 hours of waiting still no food, called the place and they said it was on the way. Waited another 1/2 hour and decided to go there ourselves. Food was sitting on the counter still, they blatantly lied when they said it was on the way. If the place is busy at least be honest with your customers and tell them how long it's really going to be instead of letting people wait 2+ hours to get their food and lying to them about it. I bought the broccoli with beef lunch special last week. I have to say, the beef just melt in your mouth, in a bad way. It was disgusting! Very rude! An hour and a half later still waiting for our delivery. When we call we are told the driver has already left, should be there in 5 minutes. That was 30 min ago. Called twice and feel like we are bothering them, how rude! Not even an apology. Wow, just called again for the third time qnd the guy didnt even say hello, just "2 minutes!" we cancelled the order and he hung up on us. Will not be ordering from here again. Of course after we cancelled the order it still showed up. Very surprisingly, the lady who delivered it said "he didnt put the order in". And the food was cold and overcooked/burnt. New Owners have turned what was a very middle of the road Chinese carry-out into one of the worst in the area. Their sauces are almost indistinguishable from one another, so don't bother ordering a variety for your family &/or guests, it will all be pretty much the same. The beef is of a much lower quality cut and it seems they can't even bother to slice up their chicken into bite size pieces. (Perhaps they should include plastic knives in their utensil packages.) We ordered a vegetarian lo mein noodle dish a few days ago that tasted absolutely rancid. Heck, they even gave me really nasty fried rice which from what I understand is pretty hard to mess up. If all this were not bad enough, they have gotten overly strict about making substitutions and no longer allow meal combos to count towards their discount coupons. Their only saving grace seems to be that they are still one of the most reasonably priced in the area. So, if you don't care how your food tastes and are only concerned about price this place may be for you! read more

The food was good but the service was TERRIBLE. I ordered delivery and they tried to tell me I lived too far. I lived at most 2 miles away. Then they checked the map and said I was within their delivery. When the woman delivered the food she yelled at me saying that it was too far and that it was 9:40 and they had been closed for 10 minutes. As well as her house was in the opposite direction of mine so she was pulling overtime. I will NEVER order from them again. read more

First let me say that the lunch specials are an incredible deal at roughly $5.50 for a huge togo container full of food. The taste of the food is great as well. I usually go for the Kung Pao Chicken which is the best I have had in the area. I will say that I hear horror stories about their delivery so be warned, just pick it up if possible. I first went here on a lunch break and it was insane! Really hot, really good, and really cheap food. They have great lunch specials and give really generous portions. Sweet and sour chicken is a must. They prepare their own sauce and serve it on the side so the chicken doesn't get too soggy. Mongolian delight, orange chicken, and the fried dumplings are top notch.
