Don't go here they will scam you. They charged me so much for the visa even tho I completed the application and all they have to do is ship my passport. I requested a cancellation and when they finally did (a whole month later) they charged 300$!! The reason why they waited is so they can charge you 300$ but if you read their rules it says if you cancel 24 hrs after making the charge you will get a free refund. Don't go here. Scam alert!!!! This company will charge you hundreds in extra after you buy their services without any warning. The original invoice I paid was for the amount of $450 and it should have included the whole services. I was given a new invoice a month later with multiple frivolous line items such as China Submission, Inbound Shipping Label, and digital photo services for the additional amount of $212. I was never communicated about those additional charges and if I had known I would have went with a different vendor. I called their customer support line and the representative could not give me a clear explanation on why were those charges not communicated in the beginning, and said I will get a call back from their manager. It has been a month now and I haven't heard anything. My guess is that they do this to every customer hoping they can get away with fraudulent behaviors like this. So if you had similar issue with this company please step up and make a complaint so not more people can fall for their scam. I'm leaving a review in every one of their locations to prevent more people from falling for it. read more

I highly recommend CVSC for your Chinese Visa needs. We did plenty of research and for price/value, CVSC was top of the list. They were also HIGHLY recommended on FlyerTalk, my fave forum and #1 source for all travel needs. The cost was $140 consular fee per Visa, $49 agent fee to solicit the Visa (standard, 6+ days, and $26 for FedEx next day delivery. There was a 3% fee to pay with credit card. Gotta collect miles at all costs! The total process took 7 days (from sending our passports to HOU and receiving them back in MIA). In my experience, one cannot better service than this. Easy process to obtain visas to China without needing to go to the embassy. They provide great customer service and are able to answer any questions you may have. They also review your documents before processing as well so they will let you know if you need to include something else. Obtaining a visa to visit the great land of China has become more difficult and costly in recent years. In 2002, a Chinese Visa cost $50 and you could mail your passport straight to the nearest Chinese consulate. They would put a visa in your passport, mail it back, and you were good to go. Now, if you are American and want a visa, you not only have to shell out a whopping $130, but you also can't mail it directly to the consulate. You either have to go in person to the consulate and hope that you get a visa that same day, or you have to use a Visa Service and pay someone else to get you your visa. Fortunately, I found the Chinese Visa Service Center in Houston, Texas. With $54 in service and shipping fees, for $184 total you can get your Chinese visa. One thing I really liked about the CVSC was, not only did they get my passport back to me super-quick, but they also e-mailed me to let me know my passport had been received, then they e-mailed me my receipt and the shipping/tracking info, so I knew exactly when to expect my passport back. I used the normal 4-day processing, but for some extra $$, they also offer expedited processing- even same day rush service. read more

If I could give this place 20 stars, I would!! Firstly, if you are attempting to call the Houston visa office of the Chinese Consulate, don't bother, they don't have an active number. If you try to call other jurisdiction's Visa offices, hoping to get answers to general questions, don't bother, I called the NY office about 60 times and the line was always busy. If you plan on following the instructions on the Houston Consulate's website and email them with questions, don't bother, you are more likely to win the lottery than get a response. I sent 15 emails back in April and still haven't gotten a response. If you are traveling with someone else that can physically bring your application and passport with them to their Visa office, this won't work because they will not accept applications with home addresses outside of their jurisdiction. If you cannot physically go to the Houston Visa office, submit your application, and wait for it to be processed, don't bother, use this service!!!!!! I am not only recommending this service because the alternative will leave you frustrated, annoyed, and seriously consider canceling your trip all together, but using this service is easy, fast, and worth the extra $140ish (estimated cost including shipping to/from Florida). I have spoken to 3 different employees of this service and they were all extremely helpful, patient and most importantly, responsive! I was really impressed by the patience and openness of the representative when I first inquired about using the service. The rep gave me an overview of all of my options outside of using the service with a great deal of candor. The entire process took a week and was completely seamless. I used this service from abroad, calling several times before purchasing the service, but upon billing, I was charged more than the original quotes from prior phone calls. I protested this overcharge, and, via several exchanged emails, the representatives I corresponded with repeatedly denied the possibility that their colleagues could have misquoted me on the phone. I assured them that they did. I was offered no recourse other than to pay the more than doubly expensive shipping option, until I filed a complaint with the BBB and wrote a 1-star review here on Yelp. Then and only then did the company admit fault, and refund me the difference from the original quotes and the new surprise shipping rate. Thank you for the refund. So, 3 stars for resolving the issue, but this should have been a simple transaction. I called initially to know how much it would cost, but it seems some of their staff were uninformed. I cannot recommend this service enough. The staff, especially Lindy, is extremely helpful and professional. I called them from California on a Wednesday morning to ask if they could pick up my son's China tourist visa from the Chinese consulate in Houston. My son couldn't take time off from school in Tuscaloosa, AL to travel to Houston to pick it up. He did travel there two weeks prior to file the visa application himself. The staff gave us detailed instructions on what to do. My son overnighted his pickup slip and money order (for the visa fee of $140, Fedex fee of $29 and agency fee of $49 for a total of $218) on Wednesday afternoon. They received it on Thursday. By Friday afternoon, Fedex had already delivered his passport and visa to his permanent home address here in California. Be careful before trying to use their service. Since there is no consulate in Boston and Chinese Consulate web site states the you can only apply in person or through a trusted person, I decided to use China Visa Service Center to get a visa. I paid the service fee by credit card and sent my papers. Two days later they called me and said Turkish citizens has to apply in person and they did NOT refund the service fee. They hide behind the company policy "NO REFUNDS". I called them but they just said "Sorry. The consulate changes the rules every day. We are not responsible. No refunds". I complained to BBB. Here is the response: "Policies do not have to be posted in the stores or on receipts in the State of Texas. It is very important that consumers ask a lot of questions before they purchase a product or use a service to ensure that they understand the company's refund/return/exchange policy clearly." Now I complained to the attorney generals office. But I am not very hopeful. The problem is this: The company's promise to me was to apply for me without me being there in person. It is the only reason they are in business. And they have no idea that Turkish citizens have to apply in person. They don't care to check and inform their customers. It would be OK if they said "First check with the consulate because they change their policy everyday." But instead they just say took my money and said "No refund". I hope my experience will help you. First check with the Chinese consulate. Don't trust the information in the web page, which I did. Call them and confirm that you can use a "trusted person". I have been planning a trip to China for a couple of months (solo traveler) and after purchasing my travel book, realized that I needed to find a company that could process my visa. Since I live in Florida, I needed to send it to the Houston office. I found CVSC using google. I emailed them asking some questions, they always replied to my emails within 24 hrs. All the information was super clear. The last day before mailing my documents I called them for one final detailed, again, call was answered super fast and professionally. After I sent my documents, they emailed me letting me know that they received it. They also emailed me when the FEDEX package left their facilities (3 days after). All in all, great, super fast service, and I will greatly recommend. Their fees are very reasonable (I think ~$45 service fee and $26 for the FEDEX mailing + your regular visa cost. Great service! I was nervous about sending my passport to CVSC, but it turned out to be a god deal. My total break down was the $140 visa cost, $45 for their service fee, and then the FedEx overnight shipping ($26). I thought it was reasonably priced. Additionally, I had my passport back to within a week and a half of mailing and CVSC inserted a tab on the visa so I could find it easily. When I need to go back to China I will go through the CVSC again. But, if you need a cell phone service, do not use the pandaphone rental that is an affiliate of CVSC unless you are in China for a short time. Here are the pros and cons of the pandaphone I rented. Pros: The pros are that the phone is delivered to any hotel in China so I picked up the phone the day I arrived in China from the hotel concierge. Good service. Also, there was no charge for a sim card. The delivery was $10. Cons: The CVSC makes it sound like a good deal because the first week is free with their code, but a more careful reading than I did lets you know that for each day after the first week, you will be charged $1 or $2 depending on the phone you get. Also, pandaphone had a 15% tax on the final invoice!!! I have no idea where that tax came from. Voicemail was $5, but I never needed it and didn't know how to access it. Lastly, it was hard to figure out how to make calls on the phone. The phone says you have to dial some weird numbers before calling a Chinese number, but just dialing the Chinese number with a 1 in front seemed to work just fine. Personally, I think if you were only going to China for a week or so and you don't need internet on the phone, then just rent. But, if you have a phone that lets you get a new sim card, then buy one in China because you will get loads of time. My friend bought both a sim card and air time from China Mobile for 300 RMB (Chinese yuan; about $50 USD) and he used it for two months without running out. I'm not sure what the minimum balance you need to purchase. read more

Their email support is really slow. I had a concern with their invoice saying standard services when I requested expedited service for document authentication. They didn't reply for days. I sent another email demanding a response and then they finally explained that the consulate in DC doesn't offer rush services for document authentication. Fine. However, in the same response they also said they can send me a scanned copy of my documents before shipment. I said I wanted it. I have said it TWICE after I sent another email. Yet they DIDN'T do it! I was going to go for a work visa through them but since they gave me horrible support I will not use their service again. I'll find another agent. if i could give CVSC a 6, i would. we used the washington DC office. they were very helpful with my many questions. i think i spoke to alex four times before i sent in my application. we needed to renew our passport in order to get a 10 year visa and the entire process, without paying expedited fees took 20 days, which included three weekends and the fourth of July. they were very accurate, that we would have more than enough time to get both passport and visa in the time frame that we had allowed. we received many e-mails updating the status of our applications.
