Being from Southern California and living in Irvine (heavily Chinese population and many many great Chinese Restaurants) I was a bit skeptical. I finally tried this place. It is very good. I now come here at least once a week. Great food! Very Nice owners! read more

I really enjoy their food! Chicken with snow peas is my favorite! The wait staff is nice. The variety is amazing for a smaller town. Dining room is small! We love their hot tea with our meal. My granddaughter loves to watch the fish before our meal! Her highlight is to yellow soup!! read more

Since the original owners retired the servings are smaller and the food is just ..I don't know the words to say..meat is too tuff!

Absolutely loved our experience here. The atmosphere is great and it felt like stepping back in time to an old school Chinese restaurant from childhood! The food was hot and fresh! Very delicious and great service too! The flavors of the food were phenomenal and the prices are simply unheard of in today's economy! $6.75 for their lunch plates that come with fried rice, two crab Rangoon, and a bowl of soup? You can't get that much food for that price at a fast food place! This is a great restaurant that you can't go wrong with visiting! Highly recommend! read more

WORST EGG DROP soup ever. So much sodium, could not finish the second spoonful. Main coarse was not that good. Service was slow. read more

The sweet and sour chicken is a customer favorite, and the lo mein noodles are also quite popular with our younger clientele. We consistently receive positive feedback regarding our service. read more

My wife and I stop in here every chance when we are in Camdenton. The food is very good; my wife always gets the General's Chicken and I go for the Moo Goo Gy Pan or the Chicken Chow Mein. We both love the thick Sweet and Sour soup. The staff is always friendly and the food is always served in a timely manner and nice and hot. By the way, the price is fantastic !! read more

Food was bland, gave me the poops too Panda Express is better, I tossed the leftovers

I would give less than a 1 is possible. So hear me out here. I have lived at Lake of the Ozarks most of my life. I have eaten here maybe a handful of times. Nothing spectacular but it was ok. However I recently met a friend for lunch and we thought we would give it another try due to it being sold to new owners. Well needless to say we made a bad choice. Started with the poo poo platter and the shrimp toast tasted like it was fried in old grease. Second the ribs on the platter were like trying to chew shoe leather. They were definitely old and just reheated, egg rolls over fried and again tasted like old grease. Main course arrived and it was cashew chicken. Basic recipe that every Chinese place should know but there again old grease taste. I had about 2 bites of food when my friend pointed out that there was a cockroach crawling up the wall over my shoulder. Of course I look and sure enough there it is. In broad daylight during much rush in a packed restaurant. I almost felt like I was intruding on him. We called the waitress over and then she called the owner over who then called the chef over. Seriously it took 3 people to confirm this was in fact a roach. We left immediately and even offering to pay our bill I might add. The owner never apologized more did anyone for that matter. We will not be returning ever! Worst part is about an hour later I started vomiting and continued to do so for the next 16 hours! We have notified the health department and the city as well. Please clean up this disgusting business before someone gets even more sick than I did. Thanks read more

Food was fine, but when I was still in the parking lot 3 (Three) Minutes after they had closed, I got a knock on my window that scared the heck out of me, and told I had to leave because I was on private property! Yeah, private property that I had just spent $20 at! I will NEVER eat here again! read more

Terrible food service wasn't good at all I think they need to just close the doors and open a new place there

Well couldn't tell you if the food is good or not, waited over 20 minutes and never got served, sad this the only place for Chinese food around here. read more

Food and service was fantastic . We will make this our twice a month place or more!! I guarantee you will love this and always come back for more fun experiences! read more

My family and I like to come in when we can and order cashew chicken and a bunch of appetizers! The food is yummy, the decor is comforting, and the people are always nice. read more

Delicious food! We had a party of 10 and everyone left happy and full. With to-go boxes! I highly recommend China Town.

Have enjoyed eating at Chinatown for 18 years until tonight!! Eating dinner and a dog is laying under a table licking its butt ! Wont be a customer anymore ! read more

The best, old school Chinese food you'll find for miles. No, it's not authentic but could people in Missouri understand and appreciate authentic? It's straight out Americanized Chinese, nothing fancy but it's tasty. The egg drop soup was super salty, we passed on it. The egg foo young was one of the finest versions my wife said she's ever had. That bright red sauce that covered the sweet and sour chicken is addicting and stains your teeth/tongue. The table service is excellent and friendly and was a big part of the whole dinner experience. Giant "Polynesian" drinks which the owner will prepare and you might get a smile if you catch him on a good day. I had the sweet and sour chicken and asked for the dark meat version. Very happy with that choice. read more

We Ordered the Potstickers, Fried Wontons, Pork Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef and Pork Egg Foo Young. All the Food Was Average. I'm a Real Egg Foo Young Fan, but this was very disappointing. The thing I Adore About Egg Foo Young is that it is Light, Crispy and Full of Flavor. This was a Big Blob of Deep Fried Cabbage and Carrots, Very Heavy and the Strong flavor of cabbage was Overpowering and Out of Balance. Much Prefer It Made With Fresh, Tender Beansprouts that give you the crunch factor. Also, a Heads Up, It is TAKE-OUT ONLY. No Dine In. Nice Dining Room Sitting Empty and Then On Your Receipt they Expect You to Tip.... I Paid $40+ for food, I Had to Take Elsewhere to Eat. I'm so Tired and Over Covid Being Used to Prevent a Real Dining Experience. read more

I feel like I was back in the 1980's they glassware , what they served the food in, seats, flooring, walls, even some of the peoples haircuts working and yes unfortunately the food. Now the service was great even though it was busy but seemed like everyone ordered the sweet and sour chicken. agh.... yes the menu was from the 80s needed something other than breaded but i guess we should all be happy they have one Chinese place. they need some competition. to stir things up. get it.. read more

Small and unassuming, the first time we ate there I was not impressed with a chicken wing stuck right in the middle of a vegetarian dish. So, I did not return for several years. Went back with my daughter not expecting much and was thrilled with the Chinese vegetable dish and soup. Since then, I stop on my way home for the veggie fried rice and the soup. The workers are kind and fast, I appreciate in a small town like this there can be a quick fast meal that's really good! read more

We have gone here a couple of times. The first visit we had the food was good; we were pleased with the flavor and portion size. The second time we visited this establishment the food was not as good and not as flavorful. We thought everyone can have an off-night and decided we would try it again. Tonight our meal was terrible the food was bland and gummy; all of the proteins were tough and the overall experience was poor. I do not see us returning for a fourth visit. read more

I am excited that China Town opened the dining room! And the owners are retiring and their niece who has worked there a long time is taking over! We were so afraid they would close for good! We have patronized this business since it opened. They have great food, wonderful service and at a decent price! read more

Got takeout. Hot sour soup had consistency of jello. Gave me my lemon chicken that I had to pour my own sauce over. The sauce did not even taste like lemon. Egg rolls were good. Everything else YUCK. read more

Great chinese food!!! Fast and delicious! The only downside is that I miss being able to eat inside.

I love this place. It's definitely the best Chinese place around. The staff is not the friendliest, but the food is fantastic.

For small town America... this place is really VERY good. We had combination lo-mein, beef n snow peas, wontons, crab ragoons and pork fried rice. Will definitely eat with them again read more

Always friendly and great people. They are fast. They don't take forever with your food.

Honestly the BEST Chinese food around. I'm super picky about fried rice and egg drop soup. These two items on the menu are by far, the best I've ever had. My husband enjoys their general chicken and my favorite dish is their sizzling seafood.YUM!! read more

DO NOT EAT HERE. We decided to go to China town since the inside recently reopened. EVERY plate was cold. We ordered two sweet and sour chicken plates and a cashew chicken with a side of noodles. The chicken was still frozen. Some were frozen completely solid. Others were like warm. They only took the side noodles off and one plate. As we were getting ready to leave we found a massive hair tangled in our noodles that were so cold you could pick up the entire thing with a fork. They refused to take anything else off and acted as if we were in the wrong. They still charged almost full price for everything. read more

The food was great, very happy with the idea of just pick up & go. Perfection is a way that I could handle. Thank you very much.

I really don't understand why anybody ever eats at this place on purpose. I went in there one time to get takeout. The man that took my order was extremely rude and hateful and was griping at all of his employees the whole time. I assume he is the manager or owner. If so a smile wouldn't hurt you once in a while. The food was OK. The restaurant has not been updated since the 70's. The place was just really a dump. I will never go back. read more

Okay, let get real. Did you ever eat in the American Chinese Restaurants from the late 1950s and early 1960s? If you did, this is a throwback to that era. So the short history review. The place is fantastic, time has stood still for this 54 to 64 seat restaurant. The Chinese food is straight out of the past (American Chinese) and for that time period, it was tasty, wonderful and delicious. So is this restaurant if you look back in time. the place was packed for lunch, all seats filled, parking lot was filled. A Good tasty Cheap Meal!! The serving plate which looks like a silver flying saucer on a pedestal, and you take off the top, voila!!!, there is the food. I haven't seen a serving dish like that in over a quarter of a century if not over half a century. How do I know this is a throwback, because my Dad owned and operated a Chinese American restaurant back in the late 50s an early 60s, and I worked at my dad's restaurant in to my teen years. This restaurant is a living breathing replica of my Dad's place. The only thing different is my Dad's menu was more extensive. It included: turkey dinner, minute steak, french fries, roast chicken as well as "Chinese Food" Thumbs up for a piece of Chinese Americana History. Don't expect today's Chinese food in yesterday's venue. read more

I took a chance. The outside is kinda scary, but I'm glad I came in. Inexpensive and tasty meals with fast service. They are like drink refill Ninjas here. I had the lunch Kung Pow chicken and a Tea for $7.46. Good deal. I'm a happy customer and will be back with friends. read more

This was my second trip to this restaurant. The service was pretty slow, blah, blah, blah. The food: We ordered the cashew chicken and sechwan chicken and crab rangoon. Both chicken dishes were pretty much not bad, not good, just not bad. The crab rangoon was super sweet and couldn't eat them. Eat somewhere else. There are a ton of restaurants in this area. read more

I've always really enjoyed this place. Do to the fact that it's small and only has about 12 tables it always feels pretty busy but it's worth it. It's not authentic...it's very Americanized Chinese food, but that's no problem by me! Today I tried something new: Combination Lo Main and it was very good. I got my usual hot black tea and egg drop soup which is always delightful. Not very good for big groups though, the biggest a table can get is probably 8? But I've been going to this place for over 10 years with my family and I've always had a good experience! :) read more

If you like Tropical Drinks, this is the place to go!!! Zombies, Mai Tai's, Volcanoes, they are strong and cheap! The food is excellent, we always order something different when we go and we are never disappointed. Egg Foo Yun, and all the shrimp dishes are Great!! Best Chinnese at the lake by far!! The place is small, but everyone is very friendly and the prices are great!! read more

My family and friends have eaten here for over 10 years and I can say while some things have changed, the food has always been very good. It is always our default Chinese place and we are always happy with both the food and the service. I deducted a star because lately the food portions have been smaller and the flavor of my favorite generals chicken is not always consistent. Some times its amazing and spicy and I love it. Other times it is too sweet and the chicken is kind of mushy. But if portion size is an issue they do offer you the option of paying a few extra bucks for more meat, it starts at a dollar for more. I usually end up paying just under 13 dollars for hot tea, a main meal, and combination rice :) read more
