Nice place withe great selection of food. My favorite is the General Tso's chicken, my wife gets excited about the Crab Rangoon. I really like the peanut butter chicken when they have it, about 2/3 of the time we go. There's a good mix of fried foods, desserts, sushi, and some 'standard American' stuff if you've got some picky kids. The food is good to very good, with a few great dishes if you're craving that particular thing. The staff are friendly and attentive. They maintain a nice balance of taking care of your needs and leaving you alone to enjoy your company. The value is wonderful, as one would expect from a buffet. The buffet was cold (like emotionally cold), the food was aggressively questionable, and every bite felt like a small act of bravery. We are now entering a 24-48 hour observation period to see if we survive any potential food-borne illnesses. If you don't hear from us again, please tell our story. There's a variety but also the thing is it's always fresh and usually the staff is pretty good about bringing out replacement trays for food asap. I have been coming here for years. However when they opened the kitchen door, I saw how nasty their kitchen is. I spoke to a few ppl, who know the state inspectors personally. The state of Missouri knows that they keep getting in trouble for violations for lack of cleanliness, but they are still in business! Someone must be getting their pockets lined in order for show them to continue to fail inspections, and still be open for business. I can't believe what I saw. Upon leaving this place, on a counter less than a foot from the exit, I found a wallet. I brought it up to the cashier and the woman checking people out, who was as rude as the day is long, said that the counter, right next to the exit is the lost and found. Anyone can and most likely will grab that unsecured wallet. Any business that wouldn't take the tiny bit of effort to secure their patrons lost property, especially property of this importance is one I will NEVER walk into again. Food was soggy, greasy, and room temperature. Some of the worst we've had. It got very crowded with people coming in and filling take out boxes from the buffet. It was crazy! We found the food disgusting! The restaurant didn't feel inviting and the layout not the best. The buffet is just inside the doors. Had the lunch buffet today. Been craving Chinese for a while. The good: $9.70 all in for buffet, soda and tax. The rest of the story: the food missed the mark. Nothing on this buffet tasted like what you would expect from a normal Chinese buffet. General Tsos chicken wasn't hot or spicy. Some kind of chicken I had tasted like fish. Too much fish sauce? You never know when you go to a Chinese buffet what to expect. I must say the food was very good. Everything I tried was spiced and seasoned well. The place was super busy and it was hard to figure out who was coming into place or going out due to register at front door but the food made up for it. This is my favorite Chinese buffet in Jefferson City. They have a ton of options and if you go during peak hours you're guaranteed to have hot food. A few years ago they expanded their seating and they are almost always busy. Take out is really the way I almost always go especially for lunch-you'll get plenty full, they even provide to-go soup bowls. I have been a long time goer of Dragon Kitchen and I will probably never stop. My sister complains she got sick once but I don't know what she ate. I moved to Utah several years ago and the only place I really look forward to eating at on my yearly trip to Jeff City is Dragon Kitchen. The Chinese food in Utah is really terrible (so is our Mexican if your used to Midwest Mexican) so maybe it's deprivation or maybe it's that I used to eat Dragon Kitchen constantly but I love their food. The lemon pepper chicken with zuch is amazing. The General Tso's is spicy but it isn't over powering which is one reason I really like it. It's more enjoyable for everyone. You can't beat their crab recipes though. From the baked crab dish to the crab rangoon, and the mushrooms stuffed with the same ingredients as the crab rangoon their crab options are the way to go! read more

I was a little skeptical about this place. From the outside, there wasn't anything to look at besides the bright red sign. Once you're seated and everything, they'll have you take turns at the buffet so things don't get out of control. They have a variety of soups and a massive dessert bar. The Chinese food was oily in my opinion, but I know there is fine line between oily and greasy.
