This is not a good place , the food is not fresh and when we bought delivery twice we got sick . The old China Taste used to be good but this one that returned a year or so it's really bad. read more

The food was cold and bland. The energy inside was negative. None of the employees smiled. They did clear the plates fast when we went back to the buffet. I will drive down to Mesa/Queen Creek for better Chinese food. read more

I let some time go by before returning. The good news, the restroom was dry, although stinky. It was fairly busy so I expected the buffet to be refreshed. The chicken for sweet n sour was really over cooked, dark and hard not just crunchy, horrible. The mussels were over cooked, rubbery and dry. The egg fu yung was also dry and I was unable to easily cut with a fork. For $20 a person I was not pleased. The noodle dishes were okay, not great. The dining area ambiance is very dull, service persons were attentive, almost pestering me to refill my drink, but removed old plates quickly. read more

China Taste - My meat dished - Chinese Near Me - Globe, Arizona

Drove across the country to visit my sister in globe AZ. Had a craving for Chinese food. This place was recommended by some locals. Went online to check menu. Prices looked more than fair so I was excited. Called in the order and to my surprise the total was twice what I had calculated. The Person on the phone said the prices were not updated. Beef Lo Mein was $6 more, Beef and Broccoli was $5 more, General Tso's Chicken was &10 More, Egg Rolls were $3.40 more. Still, I was Okay, because as a chef, I know the cost of ingredients has increased over the last year. My food was ready when I arrived and the person that greeted me was very pleasant and polite. But I wondered as I walked to my Truck why the meals were in Styrofoam trays, instead of the usual Cardboard cartons I generally get Asian food in on the east coast. But Hey Maybe it's an Arizona thing I thought. When I arrived home the food was hot. The Egg Rolls perfect, and no qualms with the sweet and sour dipping sauce that came with them. My sister said her beef and broccoli was good as well. Then I opened my beef lo Mein. Beef was tender, but the noodles looked like chopped spaghetti instead of Chinese egg noodles, and they were way overcooked. It had cabbage and a couple pieces of Julienned carrots, but the whole dish was bland and disappointing. The General Tso's Chicken was abundant and looked promising, until I tried to fork a piece, and the fork they supplied would not pierce the coating. Why didn't they give me chopsticks? I got a metal fork and ate a piece. It had good flavor except zero spice, which it should have a little heat. And the texture was off, so I cut one in half. No chicken, all breading. Cut several more, same thing. Where is the chicken? I cut open all of the pieces. all but a few had no chicken. The ones that had a little meat, definitely didn't look like chicken. It resembled very dark overcooked beef. So, I don't know what they gave me. It went in the trash. The menu description claimed, "deep fried large tender Chunks of chicken". I didn't get that, I got 20 dollars' worth of donuts, I think. And don't get me started on the broken fortune cookie with the fortune "You will try a new way of making your favorite drink". If you have never had Chinese food, you will probably think this food is good. It's not. I can't say I tried the whole menu, scared of that. If you like Chinese food, this is not the spot. Anyway, I'm still craving some good Chinese. read more

I cannot recommend this place. Most of the food was cold except for what was brought out directly. Steam tables were either off or not working. Service was odd and never smiled. When employees addressed each other it was always loud and in Chinese. In my opinion, just rude. No style, design or positive energy in this place period. Felt lifeless and stagnant. Uncomfortable and just cold. Almost like an encampment. Harsh but true. Food quality was poor. We will not be back. read more

The soup was hot, but everything else was cold. Trying to find something positive so I will add the place was clean, the place was empty so I was seated right away, and my drink was delivered quickly. But I couldn't eat the food- since the selections that were supposed to be hot were cold, I was concerned about how long it had sat out. First time there and I won't be back. read more

Nothing here is perfect, except maybe the French fries which you can tell come out of a bag but they still taste decent. The service is fine. Personally, Jumbo's is light-years ahead of this place and I take my business there. read more

could be better but sucked! I am deeply disappointed, the food had hair and was cold! The ambiance was very cold I didn't feel like i was eating at a restaurant but a sketchy motel! The service was a bit below average, and they took forever to refill the food! read more

The food is not as good as it used to be. The fried rice tastes bland. I have been disappointed my last few times.

This place is so awesome. Clean, food is good and not old and very good atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone .

Finally got to try China Taste after it reopened! Everything was the exact same as it was 5 years ago, if anything the food was better. So happy they're open again! read more

China Taste - The menu - Chinese Near Me - Globe, Arizona

Ohmigosh!! I'm not entirely sure why this spot has such low reviews, especially considering there aren't many options in this area that are open late at night! A friend and I were finishing an impromptu road trip/hiking adventure, and were looking for a dinner spot before heading back to PHX.. China Taste flashed through our minds simply because it looked rather out of place for the general Globe area, and I'm so glad that we didn't listen to the three star reviews!! They have SO many options (I think their buffet had like 4 rows, each double-sided, of heated trays of food? So, like maybe 30 different dishes to choose from, at least?!) Plus, I loved that they didn't only offer American, fried versions of Chinese food, but had egg drop soup, wonton soup, and a wonderful sautéed fish dish - drool worthy just thinking about :) They also have more 'typical' foods such as orange chicken, and beef and broccoli, as well as American foods such as chicken nuggets.. they have something for everyone in the family for sure, including kiddos that are picky eaters. And, be sure to check out their dessert area - I loved their huckleberry ice cream (altho, let's be real, I love ice cream in general and I tried almost every flavor they had). China Taste was a wonderful surprise, and I'm so gad I got to try it while passing through Globe. Their service is fast and attentive, and very welcoming.. Considering their dinner buffet is only $9.99, this is a total steal and great place to stop at :) While I don't go to Globe often, the next time I'm driving through, I'll be sure to stop here! read more

I think they may be permanently closed. They just remodeled before the pandemic. They were partially open for take out for a few months then just closed. No word if they are going to reopen. The food and service are good. The owners ate nice respectful people. read more

POOR Tired and hungry. They didn't deliver, so we called in a order for p/u. 25.00 later it was the worst Chinese ever. Crab Rangoon was nothing but a puff no filling in any of them. The meals were no taste at all. Very disappointed read more

Standard Chinese Buffet at best. Nothing special here unless you've never traveled out of Globe. All your standard Chinese buffet dishes, nothing really notable to write about other than it seems more expensive than what its worth. Service was about average to a little slow at times. If you have a buffet craving (like I did at the time) and you need a fix, this place will work, but you kinda feel hung out to dry in the end. read more

I moved to the globe area from the valley in November 2011 & had heard & read bad reviews about China taste. So finally having enough of Mexican or fast food decided that'd I'd take my sister and our kids to try it. Upon walking in, I was surprised at how modern and clean the place was. Next, I was surprised at the attentiveness of the hostess, she knew how many people we had, almost immediately and had us walking to a table within 30 seconds of walking through the door, drinks on the table within 90 seconds & made small talk. The food was hot, well displayed and tasted great: 4 large buffet tables and a dessert bar. They also had American food, such as fries and chicken nuggets for the kids, which really makes it a "family place" something for everyone. I wouldn't trust any of the bad reviews you hear or read about this place, unfortunately I did and for almost 2 years have been missing out... Definitely will be back and will share my good opinion as often as possible:-) read more

China Taste - The view from our table at china taste 4/13/13 - Chinese Near Me - Globe, Arizona

If you just want to eat the buffet then it's good. However if you want to order something from the menu good luck. I went with some friends and I got the buffet. They wanted to order from the menu. After being seated they asked to see the menu. The waiter brought our drinks but no menu. We waited and waited but still no menus. Long story short I eventually had to go to the counter and grab a take out menu for them. When the waiter returned to get their order I got up and got a plate from the buffet. One of my friends asked for a bite of an egg roll to see if she wanted to order them. She took one bite and put it back on my plate. Not five seconds after putting it back on my plate the waiter runs over( I am not making a joke or exaggerating, he literally ran over!) to explain in a very rude tone that sharing is not allowed from the buffet. Why didn't he move that fast to bring us menus? We explained that she was just taking a bite to see if she wanted to order some. Again he explained that no sharing was allowed. Fine, I understand that. However he could have told us in a different tone. We were hungry or we would have left then and there. My friends ordered their food, I get another plate. All in all the food for all of us was good. What ruined it for us was the service. I will only go to Jumbo's from now on. read more

For a restaurant in Globe, this place is good. There is plenty of food selection to choose from. They don't make big piles of each item, so the food isn't sitting out for a long time. My hubby & I both left stuffed! read more

Have you ever had food so bad that eating it made you feel a little worse about your life? China Taste Buffet is, without a doubt, a restaurant that will invoke those feelings almost every time.. I'd like to start out by saying that my expectations of Chinese food at buffets aren't really high. Really, I know that most of the time, the food at these places barely even qualifies as "Chinese". Even so, I was pretty impressed by just how bad the food is here. The majority of it is flavorless, oddly colored, lumpy mush made for people who might find Panda Express too exotic. Even so, it's one of your few options in Globe if you want to go out for a meal that involves white rice, which nets it a star. Also, I'd recommend going in for lunch instead of dinner - the food tends to be (slightly) fresher and more plentiful. On a bright note however, they do a pretty decent job at dessert. There's a decent selection of ice creams and other stuff, so I guess you can always fill up on sweets if the buffet proper isn't your thing. read more

I LOVE chinese food. I keep trying this place thinking it will get better and it just doesn't. The selection of the food is VERY good- about 4 buffet tables plus dessert. It has all the typical chinese buffet stuff, no complaints there. My issues is that I have NEVER had fresh, hot food. I have been here half a dozen times at different times of the day thinking if I hit a busy time I will get fresh food. Wrong. Everything has been sitting under lamps for hours, and is just not good. The service has never been decent. All I need is someone to take the dirty plates and keep my water glass full. Hasn't happened. It makes me sad, I really miss good Chinese food. I will try again, but not for a while. read more

Terrible! No cream cheese or crab in crab puffs an they wanted to charge me an extra $2 for crunchies that normally come with soup!

Wed, 9.26.2018 dinner time, it was your typical Chinese/Asian buffet. It was a small variety of food, not very flavorful. The staff was great very friendly. No I wouldn't go back. FYI I've been to very many Chinese buffets and this was just my comparisons from Phoenix and Tucson read more

We've eaten here quite a few times now, and I have to say that we love the choice to have the "ALL you can eat" buffet with free hot tea.......and at a great price too! The food is hot, and fresh (and if they run out of one the choices - - they quickly add more (freshly made). I've eaten off the menu too and it too is delicious, but we (my husband and I) prefer the "All you can eat" which includes desserts too! (Oh yes...the restaurant is fairly large with quite a bit of seating, cozy and clean! AND the staff is very polite.) read more

(old review) This is a run of the mill Chinese buffet. In any other place it would not get much business, but b/c 1.) it has air conditioning, and 2.) it is the only Asian ethnic food in Globe, it gets a lot of traffic. As an Asian who likes Asian food, I wouldn't go there for myself, but it's the kind of place I would take my kids ($3.95 lunch buffet), or take visitors. The price is good, $5.95 for adult lunch. But know that the food is not always hot, and the deep fried stuff is often hardened. It says a lot when the two dishes you like most there are sweet an sour chicken and broccoli beef. In short, it's underwhelming, but it can do the job for the hungry person on a budget who doesn't want to sweat while eating and wants a different taste than Mexican food. Enter China Taste Buffet. ===== (updated) 5 years later and having lived in Globe long enough, I've changed my mind on China Taste. It has improved quite a bit. We now like this place -- A LOT. At first, I wondered if if was because there is a lack of Asian cuisine in the area and the ensuing falling standards. But then after discussing with many friends who also like the place, we concluded that China Taste has upped its game. The dishes are always hot now, the cuts of meat are good, they added a couple new items, and the sauces are all quite tasty. They also replaced their cheap manually dispensed vanilla or chocolate (or swirl) ice cream machine with lever to a legit ice cream freezer with about 7 or 8 flavors. The green tea ice cream is quite good and tastes like the kind you can get at Japanese markets. Let's just say that when our Chinese and Korean friends from LA or San Francisco come in to visit, they actually request to go there. My little niece now affectionately calls the place "Tasty China." I'm inclined to agree. I think you will, too. read more

Dessert seemed to be the best meal from here. The batter on the chicken dishes is to dense, also hard. Maybe under the warners to long.

Terrible food. Bad service. I always feel sick and like I need to shower after I eat at China Taste. Even though it is the only Chinese food in town, you are better off driving an hour or so to a restaurant in Phoenix if you are craving Chinese food. read more

Run of the mill Chinese but not bad. I have had to experience some truly horrendous buffet's across the country and this is way above the bad ones. It is well kept (IE clean) the service is friendly and fast and the pricing is good. The food is not always the best but does not fail to fill you up. Overall if in Globe and looking for something besides Mexican or basic "American" and after 3pm this is a good place to go. read more

Meh...not so good folks. We stopped here passing through town and there were lots of cars in the parking lot so we thought it must be the way to go. It wasn't. Very standard Chinese Food Buffet...they were running out of everything and what they did have was not good. Nothing was fresh that I could tell. The only reason I gave it any star rating at all is because they had chicken nuggets and fries that our children enjoyed (even though I thought they looked yuck-o) But the kids enjoyed the ice cream machine and were full when we left so that has to count for something right? By the way...dirty bathroom with a clogged up sink. So gross. read more

This place is just ok just another Chinese buffet with average food and average prices
