This business operates during the covid-19 pandemic. 2.5/5 stars Unfortunately, tonight's order made me update my review from a 5 to 3 stars. It was not good tonight. It's sad since this is the only one in Show Low. It may be worth driving to Pinetop to get something else. Or even the fast food version. The wonton soup was not good. The wontons were mushy. They tried to say it was from the drive home but we are about 6-7 minutes away. The Seafood Delight was had no favor and chicken & veggies had a reddish looking sauce and the flavor was not good. The only really good thing was the Hot & Sour soup. It was excellent. They are open for dining in with buffet only. I wouldn't feel comfortable eating at a buffet with Arizona having so many covid-19 cases. The booths are too close for me and none seemed removed from use. I'm sorry to say, we won't be coming back. Been going here for years and notice the quality and selection has gone drastically down. Why is beef and broccoli red? Broccoli cheese casserole was weird mushy and not good. There are far fewer selections. We asked if the dinner selection was more and it was the same. The previous visit was ok. It has gone down hill and be going to competitor restaurant in the future. read more

I'm not a fan of their buffet, so we always order off the menu and the food is terrific! I should explain that I'm not a fan of any buffet, so you may find it adequate. By ordering from the menu we get our food hot and fresh, which we prefer. The servers are attentive and friendly. It appears to be a family-owned operation. Best Chinese food on the mountain. Just alright! The place is in an odd location, wedged between a Daycare and Harbor Freight, in an old store front that is much larger than they require. Walk inside and it's not inviting as you'll enter into a Counter/Kitchen area. The dining room is separated and is kind of dark and dingy. Went for the buffet. Cliché buffet style counters with tons of food, sneeze guards and signage warning you not to let your kids go up unattended. Really, nothing special. Just basic "Chinese" dishes that were not memorable and just sort of plain. I was excited to try the Sweet and Sour Pork only to be disappointed. The pork was cooked well but the Sweet and Sour was just meh. I also gave the Beef Skewers a go and again, kind of a swing and a miss. One of the things I really did enjoy was the Egg Drop Soup. Very tasty. Thinking the Egg Drop was good I gave the Hot & Sour a try and it was a mistake which kind of ruined it for me. Worst part was that usually you at least feel a value from a Buffet Style Chinese place. I didn't have that feeling at all for $30/ (+ tip)/2 people. I'd say that I probably won't give this place another shot as it's the kind of place that's obviously stuck in their ways and will likely not make any major changes. read more

This place is a mess! 1. On first impression, it's filthy, trash everywhere, deep slashed in the upholstery I'm expected to sit in. Second, at 6:30, they pulled away the sushi, you're paying a full $10.99 a person for the premiere main dishes to be unavailable, eating what's left over. The quality of food is VERY POOR. The orange chicken was cold and dry. When I spoke to them about the condition of the food and restaurants as well as the price in full for the majority of signature dishes being removed, they didn't care. The restrooms are disgusting! If it weren't for the roaches, I'd say the environment is toxic to all life. I would give this place LESS than one star, but that wasn't possible on YELP. This place is a total dive, and I feel like o need a tetanus shot having been here. It would have been better as a Chinese laundry. I'll never be back! I hate leaving negative but I would have wanted to have been warned. I do not know how they are still in business. I don't know anyone that I have asked if they have eaten there, who also hasn't wondered... It's filthy. I assume, they really must not care, or most of them don't anyway. Walk in, no greeting besides a dollar amount. I immediately noticed the entrance floor looked pretty dirty and there was grease and hand marks all over the entrance glass doors and windows... As we proceeded in, there were two buffet bars, three, if you count the broken ice cream and dessert bar... The selection looked like your generic Chinese buffet minimal selection... They did not seem to care about keeping it full and fresh looking. The dining area was dark. The floor was really dirty. Not many customers were dining, but a lot of tables with used plates on them. The smell was not awful, but, it wasn't good... Honestly, at this point, my panic had already begun to kick in, rev up, and go on a mental bender. My eyes were darting all around spotting food on the floor and smudges all over the food rails.. I could practically hear the carpet under me with a muffled scream from under all the filth choking it on the floor, begging to be shampooed and vacuumed. Stains and sticky not only on the carpets, but my first plate was dirty. When you work in the food industry, you know certain things to look for to get an idea of what may be going on in the back. I believe most could. Everything I tried was pretty meh or slimy. But boy were those egg rolls gross. I thought that would be my safe place.. My kids were hiding egg rolls and noodles (their usual favorites) under their napkins. There were no seconds on anything we tried. It did get ruined further though. I hate using public restrooms. Only when necessary. My two year old is potty training.... You guessed it. I almost want to cry, but agree to take her. I realize the public bathrooms say a whole lot about the back of the business, and maybe I just do NOT want to know this time or I may gag at the table.. It's a heavy door. I open it and catch it with my foot swing it open carrying her to make sure she touches as little as possible. . . The little girl in me cried as I walked in. I held my breath, holding my shirt over my nose in case I absolutely had to take a breath. It's a large single bathroom. With another door on another wall that was locked? There were water puddles on the floor and the sides of the sink. Trash and soggy toilet paper on the floor.. Smears and brown marks on the wall. The toilet obviously does not get deep or even remotely well cleaned. Maybe they mop the whole bathroom and call it good??? There was an unbelievable amount of water on the floor and everything seemed wet or sticky to go with the stinky. Every handle was filthy. Even better, they had no seat covers. I literally held her above the seat, begging her to hurry and not to touch a thing . Any parent knows, when they say I have to go, you GO when you are potty training. My seven and eleven year old also said they had to use the restroom.. They came back immediately making a traumatized face, which now, is really, very funny.. From there I really could not eat. I helped my kids sneak and throw food away so it appeared we ate more. It was just plain awful.... There was one good thing I suppose. We had really good company, and my kids and I will likely get a laugh about this experience later on. So, if you are looking for good, sanitary food, this is NOT it. If you are going more for make a memory moment, it is all yours! Just bring someone with you, because misery loves company on these type of things. read more

This is shameful and disgusting! The audacity of these people to insist on charging us (myself, wife and 93 year old Father) $39.00 for a lunch. Dad maybe ate a total of 4 table spoons combined, not only because he has dementia and barely eats, but the food was absolute crap. My wife and I threw away our first plate of food (each) because even though there was nothing we expected on the buffet, nothing normal other than rice and the steamed broccoli, we loaded up 2 skewers each of meatballs and some orange chicken and some rice. We ate the rice, couldn't stand the taste of the orange chicken, it was not right and the meat balls were just fried bread balls with some glaze on them to make them look like meatballs and the sign said meat balls. The line attendant refused to bring out any eggrolls , refused to bring out egg foo young, refused to bring out any more of their very seriously, crappy so called california rolls, so we were forced to choose from what was on the table. Needless to say, nothing was worthy of swallowing, in fact, after watching Dad spit out some of the stuff from his plate, we also spit out what we had plated and I promptly went to the cashier, only to be told, "No discount today for senior or veteran. No discount for you!" I complained about the crappy food and how they suddenly charged us 50% more and the food was awful. She said," no care, food cost too much! you pay and you go". I said, I will be sure to tell everyone not to eat in this crappy place. You need to close down. If you are so desperate, maybe beg for donations, but don't serve this crap to people and make them pay to eat it! I would post the receipt to prove I am serious, but there's no option for doing so. Do yourself a favor, avoid this place at all costs! The food is awful, worse than the potholes in the parking lot, which resembles Beirut in the 1980's after we bombed. I seriously think if the health department was honest and went in under cover for lunch, they would come back in during that same trip with credentials and close it down. If you're going to spend $40 for a lunch, make a better choice! I remember eating McDonald's from a dumpster in 1988 and it was far better than what we just had to pay these jerks $39. for. I have given this place multiple chances to improve, but it is just not happening. The little old lady serving the buffet is rude and seems to be rationing the food. Most of the people working there are rude and seem to be pissed off your there. There is one girl who is friendly. The food is always cold. People are crowded in the buffet line , and not wearing mask as the law requires, and the management could care less. I tried keeping a few feet between me and the others but they just pushed up against me, NOT WEARING THEIR MASK. IM SURE THE HEALTH DEPT WILL CLOSE THEM DOWN. read more

We were happily surprised to find a Chinese restaurant with food of this quality in the mountains of Northeastern Arizona. They probably shouldn't try to serve sushi, but it was okay. Both the Chinese and Thai food we're really good as was the extensive salad bar. read more

First let me say, the service was excellent, Fast, and on point. This is authentic Chinese food, not that microwave boil in bag stuff you get at the big box store, this was so good, tasty and fresh. When you walk in, you have multiple choices, take out or dine in. Prices are good for the portions you want for the buffet and get for take out, you will leave happy and satisfied. Waiters and waitress's are all very helpful and nice, During this time of covid, everyone was masked up, they even had a hand sanitizer on the wall for anyone who wanted to use it. The restaurant was clean, the dinning room was well laid out, for those who want to space from others. But the food, oh the delicious food, the best egg foo young on the mountain fresh and hot!. I also got the fried rice, it was cooked just right, like it is supposed to be. This is Chinese food like it is intended to be, at a great price and fast friendly service. Here at 1 pm on a Thursday. The place is about half full. I came despite all the bad reviews. Buffet is clean, simple and small. They have the basics along with soup. Just one thing, any place that still serves peanut butter chicken is fine by me! Food is hot. Hot and sour soup is really good. Although I do not really feel that this is a 5 star restaurant, it does not deserve the low ratings. I did not try the sushi because Chinese and sushi should never be used in the same sentence together and should never be on a buffet! For Show Low, it's good.
