    Yes They're Open!!!

Oy and Robin are wonderful! They are very friendly and the food is delicious and freshly made! Our son loves the curry and I usually order the drunken noodles and pad thai. Their food truck is located behind the mattress store and one can park at the Motel 6 parking lot to access it. Their flags are usually out by the side of the road when they're open (a welcome sight)! Ask for the menu to see which type of curry is served on different days. The mango and avocado curries are delish!

Still great food and great service! I love the fresh authentic food from here. It takes some time to prepare because it's so fresh! Here is a pic of updated times the owner said he had some problems updating Yelp! CASH ONLY NOW!!

Outdoor seating, GREAT food, friendly owners. Wednesday's Edition of Alli's Culinary Adventures and Tales Having gone to Show Low and not had time to eat this morning, I was HUNGRY!! My friend Lisa had told me about a Thai place in Show Low that her friend Dee had told her about (see how word of mouth works?). Now, the only Thai place I knew of was never open when I want by so, I checked this place out. Turns out, I HAVE seen this truck but never noticed if it was open or not. So, here we are... Ruean Thai, a food truck, stationed by the Mattress Factory and Motel 6, 1304 E. Deuce of Clubs. BTW, I LOVE food trucks!! Looking over the menu, it all looks good but...what, what, WHAT to order? Ok, I pick the Prik Khing Gai Krob and it was so so so delicious! Big chunks of chicken (I had to use 2 or even 3 bites per piece!), wonderfully coated and fried to a crispy and savory outside, in a setting of great veggies...sliced carrots, green beans, yellow & red bell peppers, all in a wonderful spicy, yet a bit sweet, sauce! A side bowl of white rice accompanies this dish. The aroma when I opened the bowl of that chicken, veggies, and sauce! Oh!!! The crispness of the veggies...no mushy carrots at this place! I love the coating on the chicken, crunchy & crispy and just plain tasty!! The chicken was moist, NOT dried out at all. As I said, the veggies had a good crisp to them, and the sauce...oh, that is some good sauce with this dish!! I didn't notice until I saw my pictures but the menu on their sideboard DOES note the levels of Thai spiciness. Since this was my first time there, I didn't even think about it. As this dish came, the spicy level was perfect. For most palates above 4 years old, you should be able to handle it just fine. Next time, though...I'm upping the heat level!!! I brought one piece of chicken, with just less than half the rice, and whatever veggies & sauce I could scoop out of the main bowl home for a snack later. I've included pictures of their paper menu so you can choose before you get there. Robin and his wife Oi (or is it Oy?) own and run this place and are super friendly. Oi has a lovely smile, though I didn't get to talk with her as she was the one preparing & cooking the food. No table outside, but they do have a couple of plastic chairs and some tree stumps to use under the shade of the tree. There is a cooler with water and soda outside, too. A set of plasticware, chop sticks, napkins, etc is on the counter when you order. Stop in to Ruean Thai if you have a hankering to try some great Thai food!!! While I was eating, I saw 3 or 4 people come walking up to order and take their food, so you know it is a good place. As Robin said, he wants to cater to their customer base in Show Low and, hey, it shows in their care of food prep and taste!

    Pad Thai love it.

Pad Thai is my go to get 3 stars if you like spice!! Usually takes some time but we'll worth the wait.

    Takeout only.

A limited daily menu, but always well prepared and delicious. It's takeout only. Parking is available by the adjacent mattress store; but access is a bit challenging due to traffic at the busy intersection. But well worth the effort.

Pad Thai off course and coconut chicken soup

We saw this place online and decided to give it a try. Right at duece of clubs and white mountain road. We placed our order with the gentleman that was friendly and little character. His wife was the cook and we wandered around behind them for about 10 minutes and well-a it was ready. We took it to a park near by and enjoyed the dinner. Was very good but could use a little more spicy heat, we can take it . Another one in the mountains worth a stop and enjoy

I ordered the green curry with shrimp (extra spicy). I eat dishes with high level peppers... ghost, reaper, etc and I thought the dish lived up to the extra spicy qualification and was very good. A friend and I decided to try this restaurant because we wanted to give it a fair chance, despite its many negative reviews. We ordered the Pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mao. Both dishes arrived with a thin, brown, watery sauce pooling in the bottom of the bowls. From the moment they were set on the table, something seemed wrong. The aroma was unpleasant, and after only a couple of bites, we both knew we couldn't eat them. The flavors were bland and unbalanced, and neither dish bore any resemblance to the classic Pad Thai or Pad Kee Mao we've come to expect. I ordered my Pad Kee Mao "Thai Hot." Despite the menu clearly describing it as spicy, there wasn't even the slightest hint of heat. Our server was very kind and apologetic. She explained she was new and went to get the owner. Unfortunately, that's when the experience went from disappointing to completely unacceptable. The only solution the owner offered was for us to order two entirely new entrées, which we declined. He immediately declared, **"There is nothing wrong with the food,"** without tasting it or addressing any of our concerns. We politely asked to have the meals removed from the bill since we'd taken only a couple of bites, but he refused. He also declined to offer even a partial discount. At that point, we simply said we would pay the full bill and leave. Instead, the owner became increasingly confrontational. He raised his voice and demanded to know where we'd eaten Thai food before and whether we'd ever even been to Thailand, repeatedly telling us that we **"know nothing."** Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines, and I've enjoyed it at restaurants all over the country, so that was an incredibly bizarre response. I've also managed restaurants for most of my career, and I understand that not every guest will love every dish. That's simply part of the business. What matters is how concerns are handled. Never, in all my years in hospitality, would I have dreamed of speaking to paying customers the way we were spoken to. The conversation reached an entirely different level when he looked at us and called us **"IDIOTS"** while we were standing there trying to pay our bill and leave. At no point were we yelling, demanding free food, or causing a scene. We had taken only a couple of bites, couldn't eat the meals we'd been served, and were simply hoping for a reasonable resolution. Instead, we were insulted for respectfully voicing our concerns. When I again asked if we could please just pay and leave, he continued yelling and finally said, **"If you don't pay, you'll be sorry."** At that point, all we wanted to do was get out of there. This review isn't simply about food that missed the mark. It's about an owner who appears completely unwilling to accept feedback and who chose to berate his customers instead of addressing a legitimate concern with professionalism. The food was among the worst Thai food I've ever been served. What made it truly unacceptable, however, was the owner's behavior, which was shockingly unprofessional, openly hostile, and far more offensive than the meal itself. I genuinely hoped this restaurant would prove the negative reviews wrong. Instead, we left understanding exactly why so many people had written them. For the sake of future customers, I sincerely hope the owner takes those reviews to heart. Whether that means revisiting the recipes, investing in better kitchen training, hiring a new chef, or improving the way customer concerns are handled, something clearly needs to change. Otherwise, this restaurant will continue to drive people away and has little chance of improving its reputation.

The mei fun had a good flavor and had generous portions of shrimp, beef, and chicken and were all above average quality. I would have liked a little more curry flavor, but it was very good. The Pepsi was good, as well. I know this seems silly to mention, but I hate going to a place and paying $4 for a crappy soda. The place was clean and comfortable. The service was friendly and prompt. The portion sizes were average for the price point, so no complaints there. I will go back for sure and try other menu items. I hope to try the sushi next time as well.

It didn't taste like pad Thai, it had a sour maybe lemon taste and although there were peanuts it lacked the classic pad Thai taste. I let the waitress know and asked if I could order something else as I had only taken one bite from the dish. From that point forward she acted strange would not remove the dish or take my order. She sent a "manager" to the table who appeared to be angry and insulted who insisted this is the way they make pad Thai. I was polite and apologetic that I couldn't eat it (I dislike the taste of lemon in my food). Eventually she took my order (egg rolls) and it took a while. Both the waitress and manager were obviously unhappy with me after that and when we left the manger gave me an angry look. Wow! I won't go back again not because of the food but the anger they. had against me was disturbing.

So everything sort of clumps together. I felt the dish was missing that Drunken Tiger Thai Basil Fish Sauce + Sugar Soy Sauce flavor. Feel the fried rice can be simpler--- leave out the celery stalks, leave out the zucchini, and keep to garlic, basil, Thai bird eye chillis, onions and Pad Kee Mao Sauce. Missing that taste of flame where every rice is coated with the wok char. Pad Thai--- this was an outstanding Pad Thai. Considering we're literally in the middle of nowhere in Winslow AZ, the noodle dish wasn't Sugar Overload, it was light. Had a balanced amount of citrus acid lime, and tasted refreshing. Tom Kha---- this Tom Kha is how I'd imagine a white person would interpret it, lacks lime leaves, lacks sourness, and doesn't keep to its roots, shallots, lemongrass, Thai bird eye peppers, Mushrooms, cilantro and maybe tomatoes....but nothing more. This was almost like a Thai Coconut Vege Soup packaged in a plastic cup sold in some neighborhood in St Paul Minnesota at an Albertsons; I would modify it by cutting out the celery and carrots and maybe squeeze a bit more lime in there if the owners don't have a lime leaf tree. Egg Rolls-- I've made a ton of these back in my restaurant days, along with crab cheese wontons, so as a standalone appetizer this place has pretty decent egg rolls. Thai Ice Tea--- good, Balanced not sweet, light ; recommend. Overall this family restaurant was a good stop between Los Angeles and Route 66 Arizona. Every member of the family were incredibly friendly, couldn't ask for better service, they follow up with you and ask for suggestions to improve the dishes, and any other accommodations adjustments with the ingredients. So next time you know. Let them know. Wil definitely be coming back next time I drive through with my rig. Kudos for running a Thai restaurant so far away from society.

So this time, we split the zesty orange chicken and a Philly roll between us for the perfect amount of food for the both of us. The food was delicious too. The orange chicken had the very essential and yummy flavor of an orange! And anything that can get me to eat more veggies (such as this dish) is a win to me. If I had any complaints, I would've wanted more chicken in the dish, since it was made up of mostly noodles. The sushi was good! Maybe not "knock-your-socks-off" good, but we did just go with the basic Philly roll instead of something more exciting. Their menu had some really interesting sounding sushi rolls. I will say though, that the Philly roll was very pretty! Otherwise, our waitress was great and checked up on us. Our food was out pretty fast, and for Globe, I would definitely consider this more of an upscale/still casual place for a date. We'll be back to get more fancy Asian fusion food.

We haven't been here in years due to the last time we visited we had a very negative experience. Today was a little better, but not by much. My 6yo and I ordered 3 rolls(california, rainbow and caterpillar) and an appetizer(coconut tempura shrimp). We received 2 rolls before our appetizer, which to me was weird. They all came with wasabi and ginger, and I asked our waitress Loren if I could have some ginger without wasabi as I am mildly allergic. She said no because they use the same hand to serve both so the wasabi is in the ginger. I thought 'that sucks, cross contamination'. When the final roll(caterpillar) came out it had 3 sauces on it; unagi sauce, spicy Mayo and Siracha. I asked her when she came by again if it was supposed to have the spicy ones, she said 'oh yes, the caterpillar comes with all 3'. I had ordered it for my 6yo to eat, the menu has none of the spicy sauces listed in the description, just the unagi sauce. So, buyer beware, not all sauces are listed on the menu and if you have an allergy you might want to eat elsewhere because if there is one cross contamination, there are bound to be others.
