I understand the owner was one of the original partners behind The House- a great place for burgers. The food is house made. The pizza is Neapolitan style, with the burner blisters on top- my personal fav. However, you can order it 'blonde' and they'll skip the burnt bubbles. Soups are house made- and are one of a kind. The employees were so helpful in making our choice even if we went with the old standard- pepperoni pizza and a Caesar Salad. Mmmmm. Pizza had the perfect dough and fired out of the pizza oven in a flash. We've got a bbq chicken pizza, mushroom spinach pizza, margherita pizza and a gluten free pizza. All were really good and came out piping hot. The place is connecting to a hotel (Marriott Townplace) so it's fairly new and the restrooms are nice too. The staff was really nice and helpful, as well as patient with us ordering. Came in for dinner one night while in town. Go up to the counter and order off the menu or customize the pizza the way you like it. They bake pizza pretty fast, while I was ordering my wine from a bar, they were able to deliver my pizza. Pizza was so tasty, its largest portion size to eat on your own. Pitalian in Show Low has a nice ambiance, and we enjoyed our meal while sitting on the patio, looking at the lush green on one side and the passing cars on the highway. The inside of the pizza place is also spacious and inviting. We ordered the Izza Meatballs, the classic Margherita pizza, and a S. Pellegrino drink. The meatballs were flavorful, especially with the creamy white sauce that complemented them perfectly. The Margherita pizza was delicious, with fresh ingredients and that classic taste you expect. Service was just on time. Pitalian offers a unique BYOP (Build Your Own Pitalian) option, where you can choose up to four toppings for your pizza. Wanting to escape the valley heat, a friend and I embarked on a road trip to Show Low. I've been craving pizza for a while and Pitalian was our destination. The inside was very open and inviting. Without knowing anything about this place, I thought that it would be a regular dining type pizza joint. It's actually very similar to Fired Pie, Pieology and MOD Pizza. You select the ingredients as they prepare your pizza for you. They have a large brick oven from Italy that cooks your pizza at 650 degrees in 120 seconds! I ordered a Pepperoni Pizza and had them add mushrooms to it. My friend ordered the Pitalian 4 Corners Pizza with four different meats. I also ordered some Cinnamon Puff Bread for desert. The pizza was brought out to us quickly. The pizzas were cooked perfectly and they were delicious! Some people will probably complain about some charring of the top of the pizza. It's normal! It's inevitable when you cook a pizza at high heat. Not knowing the exact science of these type of overs, I believe a lot of the heat and cooking if applied from the top, which causes the dough to bubble and sometimes char. It adds character and some flavor to the pizza. The staff was impressive as they were very helpful and extremely attentive. I ordered a build-your-own with pepperoni & mushrooms & my husband ordered the BBQ chicken. The pizzas were delicious- I was happy to see they fire them instead of a traditional oven. My only complaint about the pizza was the chunky sauce & massive amounts on cheese. They put little sauce on the pizza- there was more chunks of tomato than sauce. Interesting place...the pizza was good, we ordered the margarita pizza which we split, and then had some pasta. The pasta could have used more sauce, we got some extra, but the noodles were a very think and heavy spaghetti, which overpowered the sauce. A nice angel hair or other types of pasta would be a welcome addition. The bar was separate, so you had to pay twice. We both decided to have wine, so ordered a bottle to share. We were told that Pinot Grigio is not available by the bottle, so we ordered two glasses. The question as to why you can't get a bottle was answered when they pulled out two mini cans of wine to serve us. Yes, wine out of a can. Amazing! It's ok. Before walking in I thought maybe it would be a fancy restaurant. After walking in it reminded me of MOD pizza if you know what that is. MOD pizza is a nationwide chain where you make your own pizzas. Even though this is similar, it's not really the same. We ordered a margarita pizza and some izza meatballs (yes that's what they're called). At the checkout register there is a bin with drinks chilled in ice. Almost all of these drinks were beer or alcohol, with the exception of an energy drink and some carbonated water. That said, they do have alcohol which is cool, but for lunch I was looking for a cool refreshing drink. No where on the menu or at the checkout register was there a sign of any non-alcoholic drinks. Note: there is a fountain drink machine around the corner which you will never see until you check out. Felt it was confusing for someone that just wants a drink. We sat down to eat and I bit into my meatball and the very first bite was hard to eat. There was a huge chunk of cartilage or something that I had to spit out. Not a good sign on your first bite. I ate the rest but felt the flavor was wrong or lacking something. It also had a weird cream sauce which I've never had meatballs with a cream sauce. The margarita pizza was just ok. I've had margarita pizza before and I would say the flavoring on this was wrong or lacking something. Margarita pizza has only a few ingredients and should be the easiest to make, but unsatisfying for me. The pizza was also slightly burned in certain areas and on the bottom which you're not seeing in my pictures. Be aware that the restaurant is not associated with the hotel. If you are a guest of the hotel the staff will not walk the extra steps to deliver to the hotel patio, even if when you order and there is no room on their patio, and you tell them you will be sitting on the other patio and they do not tell you they don't associate with the hotel. Forgot bacon on the cheeseburger pizza. Crust was good. Maybe some signs or painted lines showing where their service ends. Customer service needs a huge improvement.
