Look, from all the high ratings and positive reviews came I, who unfortunately followed the popularity of this restaurant and turned up to be a bad dinner. I ordered the Spicy Meatball pizza, and while the dough was fresh, it was extremely salty and hard. The sauce and cheese were no better, being just as salty and very artificial. The "spicy meatballs" were just weird-tasting meatballs with a ton of chili flakes, not spicy meatballs. It was very cheap in quality but expensive in price. I do not recommend anyone who loves pizza to get this one. People always say the service is fast, but I had lazy service. What I mean is that you have to go up and do everything yourself except for the cooking. I almost was charged for an extra cheese pizza that I didn't order. It took about 30 minutes for this ~8 inch pizza, which wasn't that bad. But everything was just slow and there were some times where things were really busy. The restaurant itself was okay. Although it doesn't make up for the 3/10 meal, it was cushy but there were places that were pretty dirty. It's more interesting than actually good, but the booths were a little nice. Overall, I do not recommend this place. Take your business somewhere else, because I will most likely never come back to Pitalian. Sorry. read more

Everything, and I mean everything, was good. This restaurant has a young, hip, sort of upscale vibe, without being white cloth fancy. Excellent service staff. I had minestrone soup and their pitalian salad. Both were delicious! I was surprised that the beans and vegetables in the soup were cooked beautifully without being mushy in the broth. *Lovely broth without being excessively salty. I really enjoyed the soup. My partner had soup with sausage and meatballs in a cheese sauce. Out of this world! What a treat! Worth a visit is you are looking for a fun menu filled with light dishes and pizza options. As others have said this is a lot like Mod pizza where you walk in, go to the counter and order your pie. They have some suggestions of toppings or you can build your own. We went with the build your own with several meats and a few veggies. The pies are cooked on a domed pizza over and come out pretty quick. Ours was perfectly cooked on all sides. They have a full bar and we chose to get drinks from there which is about the only downside. They really didn't have enough staff working so the girl doing the plating and boxing was the same one working the bar so our pie was out before we got drinks. She diffently earned her money tonight as she was boxing pizzas and food, working behind the bar as well as clearing tables. All while 3 were working the food line. Phil was extremely knowledgeable and very attentive and made us feel like a valued customer . We ordered the Tuscan Pizza, a pasta (Phil surprised us), the Caramel Apple Pie Pizza, two ranches, and a drink total was $54 before tip. The food was delicious, portions were solid, and the homemade meatballs were some of the best I've ever had. The Tuscan Pizza was loaded with flavor, and the dessert pizza was unreal. I understand the owner was one of the original partners behind The House- a great place for burgers. The food is house made. The pizza is Neapolitan style, with the burner blisters on top- my personal fav. However, you can order it 'blonde' and they'll skip the burnt bubbles. Soups are house made- and are one of a kind. The employees were so helpful in making our choice even if we went with the old standard- pepperoni pizza and a Caesar Salad. Mmmmm. Pizza had the perfect dough and fired out of the pizza oven in a flash. The salad was an unexpected surprise- the tastiest creamy dressing and homemade crunchy croutons that were just the oomph to the cold crispy romaine. We've got a bbq chicken pizza, mushroom spinach pizza, margherita pizza and a gluten free pizza. All were really good and came out piping hot. The place is connecting to a hotel (Marriott Townplace) so it's fairly new and the restrooms are nice too. The staff was really nice and helpful, as well as patient with us ordering. Pitalian in Show Low has a nice ambiance, and we enjoyed our meal while sitting on the patio, looking at the lush green on one side and the passing cars on the highway. The inside of the pizza place is also spacious and inviting. We ordered the Izza Meatballs, the classic Margherita pizza, and a S. Pellegrino drink. The meatballs were flavorful, especially with the creamy white sauce that complemented them perfectly. The Margherita pizza was delicious, with fresh ingredients and that classic taste you expect. Service was just on time. Pitalian offers a unique BYOP (Build Your Own Pitalian) option, where you can choose up to four toppings for your pizza. Wanting to escape the valley heat, a friend and I embarked on a road trip to Show Low. I've been craving pizza for a while and Pitalian was our destination. The inside was very open and inviting. Without knowing anything about this place, I thought that it would be a regular dining type pizza joint. It's actually very similar to Fired Pie, Pieology and MOD Pizza. You select the ingredients as they prepare your pizza for you. They have a large brick oven from Italy that cooks your pizza at 650 degrees in 120 seconds! I ordered a Pepperoni Pizza and had them add mushrooms to it. My friend ordered the Pitalian 4 Corners Pizza with four different meats. I also ordered some Cinnamon Puff Bread for desert. The pizza was brought out to us quickly. The pizzas were cooked perfectly and they were delicious! Some people will probably complain about some charring of the top of the pizza. It's normal! It's inevitable when you cook a pizza at high heat. Not knowing the exact science of these type of overs, I believe a lot of the heat and cooking if applied from the top, which causes the dough to bubble and sometimes char. It adds character and some flavor to the pizza. The staff was impressive as they were very helpful and extremely attentive. My overall experience here was excellent and I would not hesitate to go back and try some of their other menu offerings. read more

This restaurant was extremely disappointing. The spices and seasonings in both dishes we tried didn't come together at all, leaving everything tasting off and unappetizing. We ordered the spaghetti with marinara sauce and the minestrone soup, and neither dish was edible--we only managed a few bites of each. I was very close to asking for a full refund. My only complaint about the pizza was the chunky sauce & massive amounts on cheese. They put little sauce on the pizza- there was more chunks of tomato than sauce. Interesting place...the pizza was good, we ordered the margarita pizza which we split, and then had some pasta. The pasta could have used more sauce, we got some extra, but the noodles were a very think and heavy spaghetti, which overpowered the sauce. A nice angel hair or other types of pasta would be a welcome addition. The bar was separate, so you had to pay twice. We both decided to have wine, so ordered a bottle to share. We were told that Pinot Grigio is not available by the bottle, so we ordered two glasses. The question as to why you can't get a bottle was answered when they pulled out two mini cans of wine to serve us. Yes, wine out of a can. Amazing!
