Came for lunch on a Tuesday around noon for the buffet. I would characterize this restaurant as a great bank for the buck- $15 for the buffet. Not every thing was wonderful, but I went back for the ribs, dumplings, wings and a couple of the entrees. The service was attentive and the surrounding s were clean and comfortable. I would definitely come back. It might be fun to come back with a large group to order their entrees/dinner. read more

Went for a light lunch, I had the Navajo Taco and my husband had the Mexican Pizza. They were delicious! The chips and salsa were so yummy we purchased extras to take home. As a closer we ordered the Fried Ice Cream.... it looked and tasted so good that I forgot to take a photo of it! Highly recommend and will return!! read more

Stopped in for my first time with my family. Other reviews aside. All of our meals were absolutely delicious, and our waiter was great! The menu is high quality and has photos of each dish they serve. Definitely too much food to eat in one sitting. The restaurant is clean and they feature a full bar. The 4 of us were each very pleased with everything. I will definitely be back. read more

Waited an extended period to be seated while the staff just looked on. No "just a moment please" or anything of the sort. Just looking on like they couldn't care less. Served white rice that was off color (not uniformly white), dry, odd smell and odd taste. Obviously old. Rice is a basic tenet of a Chinese restaurant so that's really all you need to know about the food. Will not repeat my mistake twice. read more

We had amazing fresh Sushi here and a total buffet for $14.88 a person !! The service was super great and a little gem in the heart of the cool pines in Pinetop AZ !! The restaurant is very clean and a nice view out the windows !! read more

Absolutely the worst sushi we've ever had. HUGE pieces of predominantly soggy rice. If you can fit your fist in your mouth this place is for you. Ingredient flavor was just barely "ok". Should have known something was amiss when I lifted the way too heavy to-go bag. Threw most of it out as inedible. On a positive note, receptionist who took our order was pleasant, service was fast, and atmosphere while waiting was nice. Maybe their Chinese menu is good, but their sushi is a no-go. Will not return. read more

I was staying in Pinetop for a little less than a week for work. After looking at close by dinner options, I opted for Lotus Garden. I ordered the cashew chicken with rice and an order of dumplings. I'm not sure what kind of combo I accidentally ordered, but holy cow did I receive so much food! Thankfully my hotel had a fridge and microwave because this was multiple meals for me. The cashew chicken had a great flavor and was full of cashew nuts and tender chunks of chicken. The side of rice was standard, plain but fine once the chicken and sauce was mixed in. The dumplings were moist and flavorful with tender pork inside. The wrappers were a little thicker than I prefer but it was fine. I did also get soup (unexpectedly) but it was egg drop which I don't like so I didn't try it. The crunchy fried wonton strips were great though! There aren't a ton of options in Pinetop and this place does a big takeout business. My food took about 15 minutes but that shows me it was made fresh and was piping hot when I got it back to my room. I'll definitely stop back again when in the area. read more

We just moved up here from the valley. The outside was so appealing to the eye. My daughters and I were excited to try this place out. However, we were disappointed. The food looked and tasted like it was out for a long time. The noodles were so soggy. The buffet was just a disappointing. Great customer service but the food just was not good. read more

I haven't eaten at Lotus Garden in about 2 years, now I know why. Ordered Fried rice w/ beef. Enough rice for at least 6 people, beef wasn't even enough for 1 child. 6 very thin, little pieces and tasted old, like left over from the day before. Plain Lomaine w/out garlic. Noodles were all stuck together and very, very dry! Last time I eat there! $30.00 with tip. Two items, never again! read more

This was our second time having lotus garden - and our first time eating at the restaurant. First off, the food portions are large - including the sushi portions. We were impressed with the burrito sized sushi. The General Tao's is so flavorful and has a bit of heat to it - everyone in our large family devoured this dish along with the chicks fried rice and chicken lo mein. Service was good - nothing to write home about - but good. Our first time having lotus garden it was delivered to our home in Pinetop. Let me tell you, it's just as good delivered as it is in the restaurant. We had the orange chicken and general tso's as well as lo mein and white rice. Again, it was a family crowd pleaser. It's close to the country clubs, and easy to get to. I saw they have a lunch buffet - might have to pop in and check that out to try more things! read more

The food was okay. The sushi was meh and the orange chicken was way too crispy, but the Mongolian beef was really tasty. Service was great. We got seated immediately and got our food quickly. Ambiance was good. Honestly, it kind of hurt eating the sushi in front of the fish tank. (you MUST call the white fish Blub or Blubby, the white and orange fish Nemo, and the black and orange one, you can name yourselves) read more

Lunch buffet was a great deal! $8 for kids $15 for adults. Includes sushi (California rolls) and everything on the menu. My kids loved the Boba and fish tanks too! read more

Having checked out the other Chinese restaurants in town, I can confidently say that Lotus Garden is one of, if not the, most authentic Chinese restaurant in Show Low. However, it's too bad that you could easily miss this, as it advertises a very Americanized lunch buffet, and by the very fact that the buffet table is the first thing you smell and see when you walk in, you would assume that's the whole menu, the only thing they sell, but it's quite the contrary. When we first visited, we walked in, saw the buffet bar and decided to leave, but I also took a menu with me. We returned because I had noticed that the menu is huge, and includes lunch combos, separate from the buffet. Dishes such as lemon scallops, shrimp in lobster sauce, sauteed lobster, sizzling rice soup, etc.. these are not your typical Panda Express orange chicken or broccoli beef 2-item combo entrees, these are dishes you won't find in most Chinese restaurants because they are specialties that require culinary knowledge and skill with Chinese cuisine. We ordered the sweet & sour fish and the tofu in brown sauce and were pleasantly surprised. Not only are the portions big, but the taste was excellent, and the price was good. It's not only less expensive than some nearby Asian cuisine, it tastes far better. The lunch combos include soup, egg roll, won ton and you can get hot tea as well. The large fish tank was a nice touch, you can get seated right next to it for the full experience. There is also large group seating in another room, which could host a party or other event. Other seating around the restaurant is also good, but I would avoid getting too close to the buffet as you may not want the smell of it nearby. I assume several of the lower ratings for this place are either due to a specific incident that may have affected multiple patrons on one day, or are complaints about the buffet only, which I couldn't comment on. The only other thing I can mention is the good service from the servers. The waitress who serviced our table was fantastic, always helpful with suggestions and came by often to check on us. You also get a greater sense that this is a family-owned local restaurant (which we found out later is the case, the owner was in when we arrived and we got a chance to chat, which was very enjoyable) than a chain or corporate-owned place, which we felt at other restaurants in the area. I enjoyed our first visit so much, that I returned the very next day for lunch again. read more

This was our 6th visit and by far the worst! Egg rolls, shrimp and wonton appetizer were all over deep fried. The soup was a bowl of salt and the beef broccoli black mushroom dish was not good at all. We asked for the chocolate ice cream be packed to go but they said "it wasn't allowed". What?? We've always been able to. Way too warm in there as well. We ended up putting it in our left over food container. Lol. No police were called. My last visit. read more

More variety and warmer food. The area in which to access the buffet was very limited.

The war wonton soup is very delicious. Flavorful and not over cooked. A go to favorite! Everything is exceptional. Not always the case up here on the Mountain. Nothing was over or under cooked. All perfect. If your lucky you can catch the Sake sale $3.75 for a large, $2.75 for small. I found the staff to be very friendly, present, and knowledgeable about their menu. Full service bar with a large TV. Casual dress. Service dog friendly!! ‍ Highly recommend and know we will be back!! read more

Food was ok but not worth $31. It didn't take to long for my upset stomach to go away Service was horrible. He was attentive at first but when I asked him if he could add the total again. $62 for two meals one lemonade and one water. My meal was listed at $18but he said you add $9 for complete meal. He said you should have read it better. Not I apologize for the confusion but I can show you where it's spelled out. First time in my life I didn't leave a tip. If you do go there and the guy with the ugly beard is your server, ask for another server. But you would be better off going somewhere else. I should have guessed it would be a let down when I saw an empty parking lot read more

Food was excellent but worst service. Bill was incorrect no itemized receipt. Bill should have been $40 for two people was $63.35. When asked about charges the waiter cussed out my friend paying for dinner and told him to do a better job reviewing the menu. Asked to speak to the owner and we have been waiting over 20 minutes and she wont come out to speak to us. read more

Customer service was horrible. We left after 30 minutes while the family that came after us got to enjoy their drinks and food, which was served immediately and while we still waited for our appetizer and order to be taken. The owner wanted to give us a free meal but it was already awkward enough we declined and left. It was disappointing and felt disrespected and discriminated against. We should have just left when the owner didn't acknowledge us first when we were clearly first in line to be seated. read more

The food here is horrendous. I have family that lives nearby and they swore it was a good place to eat. They stated that it's better than another place but after eating there I find that it couldn't get worse. The food was cold. All of the other negative reviews as far as the food quality are accurate. I will never return. read more

My hubby and I were in Pinetop for a getaway to enjoy nature and didn't want to cook, so we did take out and the service was awesome and they even put some extras that we didn't order but the food was awful. We ordered the kung po beef, lemon chicken and house lomen and all had an awful taste and surprisingly the best part was the spring rolls that we didn't even order. Just a big disappointment and $75 dollars down the drain. I hope they can improve. Very beautiful building and atmosphere but food needs to improve! read more

The service was great but I wasn't impressed with the food. The portions were great though.

A must miss! I'm not sure how they have stayed open so long with such terrible food. The over use of tenderizer made the meat (if you can call it that) slimy. It was so saturated in salt/MSG that mouth felt like it was receiving chemical burns. read more

I ordered takeout from this restaurant and when I received it, it was genuinely inedible, the chicken was tough and somehow had less flavor than a piece of frozen chicken. It's the only time I've eaten here and definitely will not be eating here again. Very disappointed especially for a 15 dollar dish. Also the picture online compared to what I got is wild. Hostess I picked up food from was very nice read more

One star overall, but they earned a second star because they give kids free ice cream after dinner. The food here is just bad. Thick, gelatinous soups, weird textures in the meat (like perhaps they're using a lot of MSG), and no one in our party finished their meal. It has some big fish tanks filled with coy and some other fish, which the kids enjoyed looking at. Other than that, kind of a stereotypical Chinese restaurant vibe. Service was mediocre, we had to ask for things like enough silverware for our group multiple times. We won't be back. read more

We stopped in for lunch a couple of days ago after not going here for a couple of years. It was easy for us to see we came back to soon. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I got sick from eating here. I waited a week and wanted to try the place again because my friend insisted the place was fine and tasty and couldn't have been the reason for my sickness. Today I'm convinced it is. I went in and gave them my order and while I was waiting in the lobby, A RAT ran by! Everyone eating there saw and started freaking out like me. The employee came out and didn't look surprised, I told her to cancel my order and ran out! Luckily I didn't pay yet so I just got outta there. Yes I have reported this business please please please do not risk eating from here read more

Honestly not sure why the reviews aren't good!!! I came to Pinetop to get away from Seattle and I throughly enjoyed my food!! Our server Richard was great, felt bad he seemed like the only server and was running the whole place. He was nice, helpful and joked around with us. The food was great, my mom is hard to please and she even loved it. My sister and her husband loved their sushi and for a small town they said it was fabulous. If I even came back, I would stop here. Thanks for the great experience Richard and team!!! read more

I had a really positive lunch experience. I ordered the spicy eggplant in garlic sauce dish and I really liked the chef's spin on the dish as it had other vegetables stir fried in. I normally just order take out. Always been good. I used to order often because I worked next door but that was a really long time ago. Still love it now! Try their walnut shrimp, curry chicken, kung pao chicken, Ma Bo tufu, or general Taos. There are more but those are some of my faves. read more

$75 for a Family Dinner for 2 + a side of lo mein. It was horrible. The beef in the Mongolian Beef was unrecognizable. The general Tso's chicken...just something not right with it; bitter taste. Just had the newly started lunch buffet. It is delicious, food is fresh and tasty. Lots of dishes to choose from, one of my new favorites is the beef ribs. They were fall off the bone and very tasty. Our 1st time here. Service was very friendly, that is the only thing going for it. Oh the tea was nice too. I ordered the mongolian beef lunch combo. The hot and sour soup was average nothing exciting, it was just soup. The spring roll was bland, no dipping sauce. The cheese wonton was crispy but very tangy. I hope that doesn't mean it was spoiled. The mongolian beef was not the best and not the worst it was very middle of the road. I was enjoying the entree until I came across a few bites that were extremely cold, they were not even slightly warm. The rice must have been heated in the microwave, there were pockets that were hot abd spots that were cold!!! Come on temp check your food! My husband had the lemon chicken it was one step above the worst lemon chicken we gave ever had. His was not served with rice so he just had a plate of chicken in a soupy sauce. Disappointed on our 1st time here, not sure we should give the sushi a go! read more

Came in for the sake special ($8/large hot). Ordered asahi super dry to pair. Small seafood hot & sour soup, California roll, eel roll, shrimp tempura roll, an nigiri yellow tail, ebi, maguro tuna and eel hand roll The seafood hot & sour soup came out first. This is a big bowl for the "small". Very good lots of seafood. Perfect amount of green onion. Hope I can finish my sushi!! A large bowl of this soup would have been a GREAT meal! Seriously tempted to give 5 stars just for the soup! Sushi looks great! This is robust, fresh sushi. No skimping on the rice. The Magyar as large as was the yellow tail. Ebi shrimp and shrimp tempura roll were large fresh flavorful pieces. I could not finish it all and had to take 1/2 of the elk, tempura and California rolls and the hand rolls to go. Great presentation. High quality tasty, robust sushi. AWESOME Seafood hot & sour soup! 5 stars!!! My ONLY nit is that I prefer low sodium soy. Took nothing away from the meal read more

I would not send my worst enemy here! Gnats in my food. Dry sushi. They put a random piece of salmon on top of one piece and I'm allergic!? I would've ordered a roll with it if I could eat it. ‍ flies everywhere we were literally swatted them away while trying to push down the food, which we didn't even come close to finishing. My mom and husband had the combo special where you pick two dishes and it was extremely overpriced for what they got not to mention it tasted like garbage. I ordered a hot sake and I watched the waitress put it in the microwave and let it sit there for 10 mins before she brought it over and by then it was cold.
