Do not come here!! There was rat poop!!! My family and I came to eat here today (9/20/21) and we noticed a foul odor. As we were trying to figure out where the smell came from, we noticed a lot of rat poop!!! We made it known to the staff and we asked to speak to the manager and all they told us that he was in China!! If only Yelp had A "No Star" option. Let me tell a bit about my bad experience. The dude at the front desk takes us to a table, literally throws the sets of silverware down and says "drink?" Gave him our drink order Then comes our waitor/waitress and we kindly ask if we could move to another open booth because the one we were at TOTALLY STUNK, It was a really disturbing smell around that table. The waitor/waitress LITERALLY SHOOK HIS/HER HEAD AND LITERALLY WHISPERS WTF. Damn did it really bother you that much? I was pissed off at this point. NEVER again! Should have walked out before being seated. While being taken to our table you couldn't help but notice the trash, yes trash on the floor every where. Not under just one table that just left and needed to be cleaned. The whole dining area. Used napkins, pieces of cardboard, dirty utensils, of course food, and more. I wanted to leave right then, but I'm not that brazen, so we continued on. The majority of the food had been sitting there so long the sauces were starting to become a gel. I noticed that the sweet & sour sauce was fresh so I dove into it only to be so disappointed that the battered chicken/pork was so dehydrated that it shriveled up to a speck of hard meat inside the batter. I was shocked when two people ate at $35. We are not cheap, just would like to know what we are paying for. Most buffets included soda. Soda is not included in your meal, which wasn't explained, nor was there a menu on the table to offer any beverages or prices. Since we were given our bill while not at the table we didn't know if we were to pay them, or pay at one of the many counters. The server never returned or a busser either. WORST BUFFET EVER! We went into eat at 2PM on a Wednesday. We were seated by a rude non-speaking individual who simply placed the silverware on the table and walked away. We went to get our food and start eating for them to finally ask us what we wished to drink. Upon going for the food, we found MANY empty trays and the pork chop tray had maybe 10 pieces that were burned black and less than 3 ounces of meat on them. Asking the person that was wiping in the area about replacement pork chops we were told in a loud angry voice: "NO!-NO PORK CHOP!" Going to the manager, we were escorted back to the pork chop pan and shown the blackened bones. He presented this pan of cremated remains and were told that they are fine, then said: "We will put out more chops at 2:45" (we were eating at 2pm) and then walked away. The only good part of this meal is the table service girl who checked on our drinks regularly. There is no such thing as a 4/5 star "Super Chinese" buffet unless you're in Vegas. It'll be 3 (aka: as good as it can get), 2 (aka: it was okay.. but i've had better), or 1 (aka: we all got food poisoning or saw bugs). If the older Asian people in your family find 2-3 dishes that they will eat and have second helpings of.. and no one gets sick.. it generally passes muster. Older folks appreciated the clams/ mussels / scallop dishes.. and the crawfish. Came here with family just to enjoy buffet eating. Normally I avoid places like this but we were with a large group and I was craving chinese of the Panda Express/ fast-food variety. There was a decent selection of dishes.. mostly fried meats of some sort with a sauce (aka: orange chicken, fried calamari, coconut shrimp) along with your standard "American Chinese" fare (chow mein, fried rice, eggrolls, broccoli and beef, etc.). I was pleasantly surprised that the dishes had good vegetables (green beans were cooked very well.. blanched just right so they were crispy enough and tossed with just enough sauce and garlic). Overall not too bad. They have a section of the bar where you can create your own stir fry (though I did not opt to try). The "sushi" was questionable and mostly "CA roll" based, so I avoided all together. Desserts include a chocolate fountain (avoided), fruits (mostly sweet), icy soft serve (palatable) and various cakes/ cookies (palatable). Not too bad overall.. and the servers were very attentive. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to return but it does its job for what it is. Things were clean when I was present (in fact, I noticed their diligence to clean all areas where they were serving food and the plates were all clean). They get the 2.5 with the round up from me. If you want to choose this location based on cleanliness dont come here. I am always worried of becoming sick from buffet style locations. I was told a while back that some friends got sick from a similar location in El Cajon, if I was to base my visit of cleanliness alone i would never return here again, the dinning room felt dirty and the mens restroom was probably the worst i have ever seen. Trying to try new things, good news I ate first before the bathroom, the food appeared to be cooked, I didnt find anything that was like whoa i am gonna definitely come back but the variety was good. I brought two other taste testers with me that enjoyed the food, but worried me on the condition of the womens bathroom after i saw the mens room. Cook put out an entire platter of raw chicken. I told 2 employees and was ignored, well actually I got a quick nod and ok from the both of them and neither of them did a thing about it. I saw a man and his little girl about to get some of that same raw chicken and I stopped them quick. The man looked through the chicken and also saw that it was raw. Like the other reviews I had to hunt down server to take our drink order 15 mins into dinner. My husband chose our daughters plate partially from the unmarked stir fry counter which has raw shrimp, raw noodles, and raw eggs. My poor daughter wanted a hardboiled egg what a fun salmonella risk we got when she cracked open the uncooked egg. The sushi was half fresh half old. Hope I dont get food poisoning from that. Waitress did come refill drinks on her own but ran out of pitcher of coke while refilling so my glass got left half empty. Then my husband asked for coffee which she brought and then rammed into our son in his infant carrier carseat....dont know how she missed him and then continued to walk away..it was just our infant.... Well, this is my first 1 Star review on Yelp. I believe Yelp to be a forum where too many folks use it to express discontent due to high expectations and often unreasonable interactions with a company given the info from reading between the lines of reviews and not always a fair representation to a business. I also know Yelp to be a forum where competitive business send friends or associates to falsely report bad reviews to affect the competitors ranking and I think that is deplorable. As a result I tend to use Yelp purely as a forum to express when I receive extraordinary service and experience really life enhancing experiences in the moment of a transaction. So today it pains me to report a really poor experience at a local restaurant which I have patronized now for many years. On Monday 7/10/17 I had made arrangements to take a friend who has not been feeling well, out to dinner, to get him out of the heat of his place and into public for an evening if conversation, some laughs and a selection of good food which he could select himself from the often times well varied buffet items at this restaurant. It was a warm afternoon after a very long day of work and looking forward to a relaxing experience with good food and a good friend we entered the restaurant. Though I have come to know what level of service I would receive I wasn't prepared to be placed in an over crowded section of the restaurant, over lit, very loud, very hot and with just too many people sat too closely together. No complaints, I went to wash up prior to being seated. Came around the front side of the restaurant through a widow side of the restaurant and noticed multiple open booth seating tables and few folks utilizing the area. It was cooler, and a much calmer area and more like what I had imagined being able to experience after a long work day and with a friend who doesn't get out much. I intercepted my dinner partner at the buffet to inform him I would be checking to see if we could be moved to this other dining room and he agreed that would suit him better. I asked our hostess if we could be relocated to the other dining room and she said no. I pointed out that is was less crowded and much cooler and asked her to reconsider. I was interrupted and told no, I would not be allowed to sit there, that is wasn't busier and that there was only one server for that area. This is a buffet style restaurant. I was not in the mood to argue nor was it worth it for me to create a scene so I found my dining partner and explained the interaction with the hostess and we both decided to simply dine someplace else. After years of being a customer at this restaurant and looking forward to sharing a local favored restaurant with a friend of mine only to experience a less than moderately favorable experience I left embarrassed for having made the recommendation and went to a different locally owned restaurant where we were cheerfully greeted and allowed to sit where we felt most comfortable. I will return to the second restaurant again and will not return or recommend the buffet again. We all work far to hard for the money we earn to exchange for another's good or services. I've been going here for years. Most things are greasy, but there is always enough that I like to make a cheap, only-what-I-want, meal. But the 'service' has finally sent me over the edge, reduced this rating by a star, and I will not be back. My biggest gripe is that, even though there are 'servers' (not sure what you call the people hovering to retrieve your empty plate) galore, it is almost impossible to get your check. They see when you empty a plate - but don't see when you've pushed all the plates away and are reading emails on your cell phone waiting for the check? Several times I just get up and go to the cashier, which flips them out. I actually get stressed out, and it's just not worth it :-( Too bad, because I kept hoping for more. read more

But today I called in order at 1130 and the manager tells me the price and it will be ready at 130. But when I get there they tell me they don't do it anymore. They couldn't call me and tell me. I originally came here for their sushi. It would cost me a lot more than their $12.99 for what I had there to get at a sushi resturant, it would buy me a roll. I can easily eat 3-4 rolls. Their uncooked tuna in particular (maguru) was pretty good and was fresh served atop the sushi with crab meat and avocodo in the sushi rolls I had. Plus misc. from the salad & food bar. In all the food is good, but the price payed makes it a steal! And their meats - what a variety, especially the seafood! Frog and crab legs, shrimp with the face on, ect. After that, I went and got some ice cream out of the machine that they have. Their decor is lacking somewhat, but I go out to eat for the food. I have come here several times and plan to come again. Horrible! Don't eat here. When you walk in, the place immediately smells like a diaper, and not even a fresh one. I saw a pair of tongs drop on the floor from one of the buffet items and a staff member just picked it up off the floor and put it directly back into the dish. Out of the many similar Asian buffets in San Diego, this is probably my favorite. They have such a wide variety: prime rib, crab legs, frog legs, Mongolian all for the cheap dinner price of $12.99! It's unbeatable! Now some may say that the legs are too skinny and that some dishes lack quality but if you consider the price, you really are getting a bang for your buck. The table service was excellent with the waitresses always being attentive to take away empty plates and to make room for you. The ambience is casual but with higher quality furnishings and decorations than some Asian buffets. And parking here is always easy because it's in a huge plaza. They have TONS of seats so we've never had to wait. And they're also good for huge party events! (Went to a wedding reception here) read more

They dont bring out "fresh" trays until current ones are 99% empty and even then they are luke warm at best.
