Back when we could dine indoors, this was always one of my favorite spots. Crisp white tablecloths, courteous service, wonderful food, and quite affordable. Delivery is just as good. The orders are always accurate and delivered in a reasonable time. I wish they would sign on for DoorDash, because the platform that are using can get expensive and I'd rather allocate that $ to a generous tip for the driver. Favorites include the roast pork with vegetables - the vegetables are always crisp and delicious, and the fried pork dumplings. Dessert selection is a bit skimpy, but if you have any room left, Carvel and Ralph's Italian ices are close by. read more

Don't know if a complaint but definitely a sour taste in my mouth . I came here and ordered an egg drop soup and some spr ok ng roll; it was originally a takeout order but after I paid and while I was waiting, said to myself it's cold outside, I'll just sit here and eat it. When I told the server that I was gonna sit, she told me no I couldn't because my order is takeout and only eat on customers could sit at the table. I felt like asking for my money back and leaving but I decided to get my food and not cause an issue. I've never been told not you cannot eat our food at one of our tables because it's a to go order. Am I wrong here or is this a good way to rid yourself of customers. read more

Horrible ! All dishes swimming in some commercially made sauces. Food is not palatable and had to be the most disgusting Chinese food I have ever eaten. Fried items smell bad because their grease is old. Egg rolls were rancid. read more

Alright so the people at the desk and the service itself is actually pretty good. When I discovered a strand of hair in my food, they gave me a full refund. I can respect businesses that take accountability these days. But the food was not so good for me. I ordered chicken and beef. Perhaps other dishes taste great. read more

Have frequented China Palace several times, recently tried boneless spareribs, delicious, quick service, polite staff

Avoids this place like a plague. First off, the portion is dismal but that's not the bad part. They serve stale 'fried rice' that's been either sitting around or leftover from other customers. It was the most disgusting food I've ever eaten and gave me stomach cramps not to mention headache from MSG. Sadly, it changed so much from a couple of years ago. read more

Went today for lunch, very disappointing. Flavorless chicken and broccoli, broccoli wasn't fresh and there was a few small strips of chicken. Egg rolls were good, but fried rice wasn't freshly made. Can't say we're in any rush to return, they could do much better with some effort. read more

We have ordered from here several times, and we really enjoyed the food. The only problem I have with this place, is I think they put a little too much sugar in the food. As a diabetic, I have to be very careful with food that is made with sugar, starches, carbohydrates. Every time I've ordered my blood sugars go out of control. So just use that as a heads up to my fellow diabetics out there. Is it gonna stop me from ordering from there again, absolutely not. It's a great little treat every once in a while. The restaurant is clean. The service is polite and friendly. read more

Amazing food amazing woman at the front to help always a great time! Best Chinese in the area by far!

Post Isaias tropical storm , without power for 2 days and no generator, I threw out all food in our refrigerator. We were working on the house so on my trip to ACE HARDWARE, I picked up a menu from China Palace. I Called them around 9 PM for delivery, food was delivered within 20 mins and it was still piping hot!!! The whole transaction (order via phone for delivery) was extremely efficient. Food: we ordered small beef Lo mein, general Tsao chicken and spicy bourbon chicken. Beef Lo mein was great. General Tsao was all white meat with thin batter. Excellent! Bourbon chicken was ... meh ... A very typical Chinese takeout taste. Nothing spectacular on either spectrum. What I liked was the efficiency. I appreciated the person on the call repeating my order. Fast delivery. Hot food that you expect from a neighborhood Chinese takeout place. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the whole transaction ... or maybe having power for light, AC, working fridge and etc... read more

We mostly order take-out. It's always ready on time, fresh and hot. It's our neighborhood go-to. Have never been disappointed.

Food hot and Fresh delivery was in time range left food at front door with a quick ring of doorbell

I've been going here for about 25 years or more. But the last few times have been either horrible or just ok. The reason for writing this review is my last delivery they sent me raw chicken wings!!! They were rubbery and pink inside. I called there immediately and the women was not able to understand what I was saying so another person got on the phone and just said we credit you next time...sorry NO next this will be the last time I order. So changing it to 4 stars again. We decided to eat in and the experience was much better. Maybe just skip the delivery and eat in read more

Just had takeout from China Palace. Going there on and off for years. Tonight was terrible. Will be a while till I go back.

We ordered some small dishes this week. The hot & sour soup was PURE cornstarch. Had to throw the soup out. Terrible. Pork dumplings not up to standard either. Horrible meal. We won't be back. read more

Went to lunch Monday. Good lunch menu. Good food. I had spicy bourbon chicken. It was fresh & tasty. Denise had her favorite, Sesame Chicken. It was also tasty, not dough balls like some places. The wanton soup and hot and spicy soup also very good. We will be back. Oh, and they have flat fried dipping noodles & duck sauce. They automatically brought a delicious hot tea to table. By the way, the place was meticulously clean and did not smell of fried foods. read more

If I could I would give this place no star, unfortunately I'm gonna have to give this place a crappy review, we've been ordering from here for 30 years, sense new owner ship this place went down hill, arguing about their fuck up and telling people there lying. We got charged extra for something we ask for but didn't get. The food has been coming out dry as hell. Well hao Shang been on there shit, I wonder how many customers stop going? And when you guys give receipt, make sure there in English, not Chinese, this isn't Queens read more

Best Chinese food! I've been going to China Palace for about 25 years now and I have to say it's the best Chinese food I've ever encountered and remains the barometer for all the Chinese cuisine I try. The prices have not gone up in a decade, so the value is simply unparalleled. I love this restaurant so much that words simply don't do it justice. read more

God I miss this place. Ya know how there's this rumor that in predominately jewish areas, you have really good chinese food? I suppose thats true - I live in Long Beach and we have a LARGE jewish population - from the dudes with the hats and strings, to non practicing. I can easily find Chinese Food on Christmas day... but not like China Palace. I LOVE THIS PLACE and I miss it and I wish they delivered to Long Beach. Would my food be cold? Sure. Would it be good? Hell yes, I even eat this cold when I don't have to! I love that I've been coming here since I was knee high to a grasshopper...and the decor (and employees) have not changed. These kids have set the bar high when it comes to chinese take out. Sure, there's a debate if Uncle Dais is better. I'll clear it up for you: its not. Their shrimp toast is great (everywhere else I've eaten it, its a greasy, nasty mess), the chicken fried rice is off the hook, and if you get steamed dumplings, they make em right AND their sauce is banging. Hint: eat the dumplings, pour your chicken fried rice into the tin with the dumpling sauce, enjoy. Their spare ribs are meaty and delicious. The one shining star to what felt like my never ending displacement after that bitch Sandy wiped out my town was China Palace. Worth it. read more

Avoid at all costs! 5 or 6 times now I have ordered and they have left something out of the order. Early in the pandemic, you could only pick up, so you would have to drive back to get your complete order. Lately, they are delivering and act like it is unreasonable that they make a 2nd trip to deliver WHAT YOU HAVE PAID FOR! I heard a few times the excuse "the lady in the back" to which I finally said around the 3rd time if your employee is consistently messing up your orders either train them or fire them. Tonight, I waited 45+ minutes for a delivery many who NEVER SHOWED UP... and the person who answered the phone just said "we are busy"... I guess the fact I paid for a diner my family could not eat because your staff left out items we PAID FOR isn't a good reason to send a delivery man back? There are a LOT of other Chinese places in Glen Cove, I would recommend any of them over this place, they do not care and actually are RIPPING US OFF. read more

If you like flavorful dumplings with a nice, thin wrapping, don't go here. The filling had no flavor and the casing was so thick, it was like eating a white bread hero with a tiny, cafeteria-quality meatball in the middle. They were also successful in creating a bland dipping sauce to go with it. The entrees weren't much better. Save your money. Eat in. read more

Really nice lunch. Wonton soup and egg roll were good. The chicken in garlic sauce was tasty. Chicken was tender and very flavorful. Broccoli and veggies nicely cooked. Great place for lunch or really casual dinner. Service was great read more

Yeah no, I would not order from here. Surely they don't expect me to pay tip when the order takes over an hour to deliver terrible sweet and sour chicken, especially when I live literally less than 20 minute walk away. In hindsight, I should have walked. Either way, I was incapacitated by the food anyways afterwords. Either the chicken was left out too long, or something else, man I don't know what to say. Jeeeeeeeeeeesusss spare me from the pain :'). read more

I always thought the customer is always right.....not with China Palace. We ordered food from them what a mistake. The guy brings it to the wrong place calls me from his cell phone I don't answer because I am at work. So 1 1/2 hour later I call them and they tell me he called me and I didn't answer. So he returned it back to the restaurant. Then he brings it back 2 hours later. then we are missing stuff. I call them and they tell me it was in the bag. For real ...well done with you... read more

I personally like this place, foods are fresh and delicious. I usually make a phone order and come to pick up. Sometime, we stay during family dinner. Service is above average comparing others Chinese take out restaurant. The most important thing is that food are tasted so good! Meal is not expensive, comparing in this community. 1 star price 2 star food quality 3 star delicious 4 star service 5 star I love it read more

Being that there aren't many good Chinese takeout restaurants in the DC area, as soon as I got off the bus from DC to NY for Thanksgiving, the only thing I was craving was China Palace chinese food. There is something special about this place if you want quick, easy, cheap takeout. You can't beat the prices, you can't beat the taste - especially of the chicken wings which have a nice asian style flavoring on them that's not overwhelming - and you can't beat the speedy service. I've been going here for years and honestly, I only found 1 takeout place in the DC area that came close to tasting like NY takeout chinese. Unfortunately that place closed. Now DC is littered with a lot of okay chinese takeout place that are all over priced and have bland tasting food. You can't go wrong with the lo main, sesame chicken, and fried chicken wings for an appetizer. Definitely as good as it gets in Glen Cove.... and DC! read more

I've ordered from CP for many years as it's always been very good and because my favorite Chinese restaurant is further away and doesn't deliver. The last few times I've ordered food from CP including last night, the food was just not good. I've given them more than enough tries to no avail. The food arrived warm (last night) previously it arrived cold. and the quality was really not there. I ended up throwing it away and that's the 3rd time I've done that. Sorry, but never again. I ordered pork fried rice- way too many onions, beef and broccoli- not fresh, egg roll-meh, lukewarm and very oily. Shrimp egg roll- all cabbage and 2 tiny shrimp should be called a cabbage roll. Not sure who's cooking back there but I'm done handing my money over which always includes a very generous tip. read more

Nice food! I wandered in one night because I was hungry after grocery shopping and was very pleasantly surprised.

In a word...B L A N D! Without question the most flavorless, boring food in the area. It couldn't be less flavorful if it tried. For 25 years or more it was a decent-to-good neighborhood Cantonese/Shanghainese place, with the most reasonable of prices. A few years ago the old family sold the place and this place now bears almost no resemblance to the original. The new folks cleaned it up and redecorated, but sadly it has been no help. Put the money into a couple of new chefs. read more

Pros: The orange slices at the end of the dinner with the 'bill' was the best aspect of the meal. Cons: They food quality, partitions and taste on servings from soup, appetizer and entree were sub-par. The prices have gone up drastically in the last 5 years. A dinner for two used to run us maybe $20.00 to $25.00. Over $35.00 now. Our server was just as bad with an attitude like she was doing us a favor. Every request we asked for came with a look of disgust. The Ambiance is terrible and are very old looking. Very disappointed. Unfortunately the other Chinese restaurants in town have all closed up over the past few years and this is the only one with a dining room unfortunately. read more

This place is disgusting. I have never had worse Chinese food than this place. The place is run down full of roaches. The wonton soup made me gag and the people behind the register have major attitude problems. If I could rate this place way below one star I would not hesitate. read more

After being a long time customer I will never come back here again. I arrive to pick up my food and ask for hot oil and they tell me 15 cents extra. I ask y and they say it's home made. Placed my first delivery order with this restaurant and boy was I disappointed. They obviously did not heat the oil sufficiently and so the scallion pancakes and the General Tso's chicken were inedibly soggy. I called the restaurant shortly after I received the order to inform them and they just said they would "tell the kitchen." No offer to replace the items or give me a credit. Very shortsighted. Obviously they have very bad customer service, which is what prompted me to write this review. Stay away! read more
