The Food Here is really good the have all sorts of different foods ,, the sushi bar is well stocked they have a hibachi side that cooks you up whatever you give them from the fresh vegetables and meats assortment service is always excellent they seat you and leave you alone drinks always full table always cleaned after you finish and they never make you feel like there rushing you to leave but always around to help,, the place is absolutely beautiful they renovated the whole thing so it feels new every time you walk in very clean beautiful fish tank and little anime store off to the side for plushie lovers and trinkets. read more

I have been a long time aficionado of Chinese buffets. We recently moved to The Villages, Florida, and we found numerous advertisements for this buffet. It turned out to be a little more than 1/2 hour drive from our home, so we decided to give it a try. The interior was roomy, yet busy with many customers - temperature and humidity control was good. We came down to the Villages from the DC area, so it was a surprise to us to hear that we dine first, then pay later... I guess this is an indicator of a higher-trust society down here in Florida. We wandered the aisles of available food - found an American food isle, a Chinese vegetarian food isle, a Chinese protein food isle, a Japanese sushi aisle, etc. I stopped first at the Japanese sushi food isle. Regrettably there was no eel sushi, although they did have eel sauce.... Picked up a variety of sushi roll slices, soya sauce, and wasabi. They had my favorite: Japanese picked seaweed. My wife had brought each of us a cup of hot and sour soup: I thought the hot and sour sour could have benefitted from more vinegary tase and more spicy flavor, but it was nicely hot thermally and contained plenty of vegetable material. My next trip back to the food aisles brought pepper-salt fried chicken bits, Pepper steak with onions and green peppers, and General Tso's chicken. I liked best the pepper-salt fried chicken bits, finding them crispy. The Pepper steak with onions and green peppers was mild and unremarkable. The General Tso's chicken was interesting, a little too sweet but enjoyable. My wife enjoyed the fried chicken and fried shrimp, although each could have benefitted from being warmer when served. We both liked the stir-fried green beans; the cooked mushrooms were OK, the stuffed mushrooms were not to our liking because they were stuffed with fake crab. In general, much of the food would have been better if it was thermaly hot when selected from the aisles. There were plenty of fruits for desserts, and my husband had a cup of vanilla ice cream. We were surprised at the relatively low cost of dining here for lunch. It looks like a reasonable choice for lunch, although being 1/2hour drive away from where we live, it may be difficult to take advantage of the economy. We failed to take advantage of the flat top cooking station, where one could have selected various proteins and vegetables, then asked for cooking in various style meals, including Szechuan, Mongolian, Hunan, and others, and had them freshly cooked by the chef as you wait. We decided it will be worth our while to take another 1/2 hour drive up there and try some of the other varieties. The table service was efficient and frequent, used plates were cleared from our table within minutes after we had finished with them. read more

Literally the best sushi for the price. Especially North of Tampa and Orlando. The other food choices are very good as well. I've tried just about everything. The crawdads are amazing. The chicken wings were really good. General tsos was good and the hibachi was really good too. The service was excellent. My waiter always made sure my drink was full. The place is a little busy due to the fact that it's popular. But I think it's a great place to go solo like me or with family/friends. We went to China Lee Buffet to celebrate a birthday last week and our experience was great! The new location is about two minutes away from the old location in the former Kmart shopping center. On the day that we visited, it was crowded, but we were able to find a good parking spot. Upon entering the restaurant, it felt inviting and not rushed. When walking in (to your right), you will find the cutest little fishes in an aquarium. Also, you will find that there are two lines, one line is for To-Go customers and the other line is for Dining customers. There are signs present to tell between the two. We were dining, so we just walked right up to the hosting area to be waited on and let the hostess know how many were in our party. As soon as the hostess took us to our table, we ordered our drinks and then we were free to begin choosing foods at the buffet. The restaurant features a hibachi bar (you just choose the foods that you want cooked, put them on a plate and then hand the plate to the chef and they will cook your meal right in front of you), a sushi bar, a mixture of foods from the buffet as well as yummy desserts. The food was hot especially once cooked at the hibachi bar. You can eat as much food as your tummy can handle, but when dining in the restaurant, you have to eat what you have on your plate while you're there. So, if you're wanting to order something To-Go, you just let your server know before you leave the restaurant -- upon ordering your To-Go order, they will weigh it at the counter for you and then you pay accordingly. Also, please keep in mind of the lunch buffet times and the dinner buffet times. Our server was so friendly and attentive. She refilled our drinks when needed and presented a little tiramisu cake with peaches and mandarin oranges to our loved one for their birthday! Finally, the price for the lunch buffet since we were a party of five was less than $85 just to give potential diners an idea. Everything was so greatly appreciated and our party had a wonderful time -- we will most definitely be back to dine again soon! read more

I tried China Lee tonight with a friend because we drove down to Ocala thinking the new Ocala location of Seafood Seller was open but alas, it has not yet. So, we drove further out Highway 40 and went to China Lee. I like Chinese buffets when of decent quality and things are done cleanly and safely. The main trick in this regard for any buffet is getting there around peak dinner hours and if busy and if well-managed, you'll have quick turnover of food and nothing will just sit around. That certainly seemed the case here, the restaurant was packed and food was constantly being brought out from the kitchen to replenish. I asked our waiter how old the restaurant is (a sign on the wall read "China Lee: Since 2005" but that seems to pertain to the chain). He said it opened last year and it looks that new: the interior is bright, clean, pale wood and accented with red lighting and signage. It seems Chinese and East Asian without being coy about it and also seems modern and well, just clean. You get the impression it's well-run and kept tidy just from this appearance--the light colors and openness of the design help and the buffet itself is laid out logically. Our waiter was good--not much he had to do but bring drinks and clear plates but he was always around. The food overall was good, too. They have Chinese stir-fries, some American-inspired dishes which I skipped over, a lot of deep fried Chinese-American goods (egg rolls, spring rolls, pot stickers, chicken wings, and more), quite a bit of fruit which is nice, a sushi bar with chefs setting out roll after roll after roll of sushi, and a hibachi. I skipped the sushi bar: sushi to me is something I demand the utmost quality in and most even "good" sushi bars in the US don't meet my standards so I am not getting sushi at a Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet. But the Chinese dishes, fried foods, and fruit all left little room for complaints. Indeed, the deep fried items were the best: the gyoza-like dumplings were plump, fresh, and tasty. They likely came frozen in a bag and not made in house, but still were good. So were the spring rolls. Also, all fried items seemed perfectly done and nothing burnt or tasting of old oil. Nothing was cold or "off" at all either and everything all about the quality you'd expect from a typical Chinese-American take-away place. For $19 plus tip you can't really go wrong here if you're hungry. read more

Came to visit a friend that lives nearby and she suggested China lee buffet. Honestly the outside of the buffet shopping center looks like a dump. As you enter the restaurant you are greeted warmly and ushered unto your table. I am very sensitive to smell so it smell to me like grease. The food was tastefully displayed . I had the salad and the veggie sushi. My friends ate the meat and and fried foods. Everyone was happy . Would I return here again probably not since I don't like buffets and over eating. I recently visited China Lee Buffet with my family (six adults and three children needing high chairs), and unfortunately, our experience was very frustrating. We waited in line for 45 minutes, and after 15 minutes, we provided our total party size. We were told there would be a wait but weren't given a time estimate because there was a party of seven ahead of us--fair enough. However, as time passed, I checked on our status and was told there wasn't a table available for all of us, only a table for six, and they might be able to fit the high chairs. Then, I was told there was also a party of 12 waiting. Strangely, I watched as that party of 12 was seated before us. When I brought this up, instead of a real solution, we were asked if we wanted to sit at two separate tables across from each other--completely defeating the purpose of dining as a family. Due to the lack of organization and communication, we ultimately decided not to wait any longer and left. It was a very frustrating experience, and I wouldn't recommend coming here with a large group if you expect fair treatment and proper seating arrangements. read more
