Needed a change of pace, so decided on Chinese. This is a little non-descriptive restaurant on a corner of the street, but inside is warm and welcoming. The food came out quickly, and the portions were big! We ate our fill, and still had enough for another meal at home later in the week. Would highly recommend!

The portions are huge. The food is fresh. They give you soup, rice, wonton, and egg roll with your entrée if you get the lunch special.

This deli opens at 8am. We were actually 2nd. in line for the doors to open. My friend and I lived many many years in NYC...deli rules. When it opened we were greeted and seated, we chose to sit inside though they did have a fairly big patio area. Service was excellent all around from the hostess who sat us to Christina who took good care of us making sure water and coffees were refill promptly and was very friendly. My friend ordered his favorite, a hot Pastrami sandwich on lightly toasted rye. I ordered my most favorite deli item, the Chopped Liver appetizer. While we were waiting for our food, we were served the tradition Pickle Tray, YEAH!!!! The food came out and was all DELISH! My friend loved his pastrami sandwich and my chopped liver was good but could of used some chopped hard boiled egg, more onion and some salt.. but was still good. To note: We would definitely come again on an off hour where I would not have to wait. Atmosphere: Fairly large inside and patio, very Deli feel, huge bakery display to purchase. Service: excellent. There are many other good options to pick from! If you end up disliking the chopped liver, I'd hate for that to ruin your experience at Sherman's. The second time I ordered: - NY Style Hot Pastrami Sandwich: This was the best thing I tried on the menu. The pastrami was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend this sandwich! - Lite Lunch Special: Not all sandwiches are available for the half portion, so I would suggest clarifying with your waiter. I ordered 1/2 Brisket of Beef (BBQ sauce on the side) and 1/2 Garden Salad. Both were just fine. Unfortunately I was way too full to try any of the dessert. They were beautifully displayed though!

Fast forward to this weekend, it was the Palm Springs Big Gay BBQ event that was happening along Arena Road. Whenever there's some kind of event, they tend to close the road down for cars. People enjoying themself with a nice glass and people watching. They have the main bar area with hi top seats that look out to the walkway and street. Also a patio area that is situated along the street. All hi top tables but it's out in the open. They did have some umbrellas set up but mister were all around so that helped a lot. If you wanted drinks, you could go to the main bar but they were also offering waiter service. Not only drinks, there was food available. We didn't have anything but what came out for people did look quite nice. Mainly sandwiches and salads. The crowd was pretty lively and nice. The other times I've walked by, it was nice but slightly more mellow. Depending on the days I assume. It's not that big inside but quite nice and the music was great. Service was excellent with our waiter. Took very good care of us. Drinks, had some rose and margaritas. Let's just say you get your moneys worth with the margarita. It had a nice kick to it. Overall, the place was fun. Nice big size patio which is perfect for a nice afternoon out. Also a nice touch with food.

I ordered the Andouille omelette, which was loaded with flavor and came with a massive mound of avocado that made me happy immediately. The side of bacon was perfectly prepared, which sounds simple until you realize how many places still get bacon wrong. This isn't a flashy breakfast spot. On our journey to Palm Springs my team left the food choices to me since I'm picky. Lol. We showed up on a Wednesday night (note that they do not open Monday and Tuesday), around 4:40 PM. There was already a long line of individuals waiting to get in. There were about 15 people ahead of us. At opening, we were immediately sat down into the second dining room to the right of the restaurant. It gives a different vibe than the main room with its red bench seating and lantern ceiling. Although the benches were high, and the tables were a little low, we managed. Of course, we tried the complementary congee. Which I love, but my colleagues were not a big fan of. We ordered the calamari and the crispy beef noodle. We also ordered the shrimp and mango spring roll, the softshell crab and green papaya salad, and the pork belly lettuce wraps. The shining stars, for my colleagues were the calamari and crispy beef noodle. Followed by the shrimp and mango spring rolls and the softshell crab. The three of us did not enjoy the pork belly at all even though it came recommended. We actually only ate 2 pieces. The food overall was good although we wish we didn't get the pork or at least stuck to our goal of four main dishes. The waitress recommended we get one more and that's when we added the pork. Next time we will go with our gut instinct. One thing that was disappointing on this visit was that when we ordered drinks, one of them came out in a can. We were under the assumption it was a draft pour. For $14 it should have been noted that it is canned. The way that it is written into the menu no one would assume otherwise.
