We're regulars here and it's one of the better Chinese places around. Good Mongolian Beef.

OK tasting takeout Chinese food. Standard menu options to choose from. Reasonable prices.

If you live nearby, if you don't have a car, if other Chinese restaurants are closed, this is your place.

I would only eat here if I wanted to get some Chinese food at the last minute. Overall, it's not the best and the food is usually greasy.

She even called me back to ensure they had the correct address instead of delivering to the incorrect house. I was told it'd be 30 minutes for my order to arrive; it came in maybe 15-20 minutes. I only bought the classic chicken fried rice pint, but the quality and taste did not disappoint. It arrived hot and fresh, and the flavor was incredible. 10/10 highly recommend :)

Though we hadn't been there in years, Golden Bowl came to mind. Consensus: we spent a bit more than we usually do, but the food was a couple of notches better. As a point of comparison, we ordered our usual soups: hot & sour and egg-drop wonton. Hot & sour was thick and spicy. (To temper the heat, I cut my serving with spoonfuls of egg-drop.) Wontons were nicely filled and less doughy than our usual take-outs. Two thumbs up for the soup. Mongolian Beef is my husband's favorite. We both agreed that Golden Bowl's version is pretty good. Our other dish, Sizzling Triple Delight, is best eaten in the restaurant. Nothing was sizzling, but the components -- beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetables -- were well prepared. Broccoli was al dente and the brown sauce was rich and flavorful. All-in-all, branching out paid off. We'll most assuredly do it again.

While were there, many Chinese-speaking people came in to eat and order out, which is always a good sign. It is a no frills, non-fancy place to eat (kiosk ordering, self serve plastic utensils). We focused mostly on the noodle dishes for this trip, and want to go back to try their other dishes (many which seem to be more geared toward the American palate, e.g, General Tsao's chicken). Deep fried dough sticks (you tiao) - 5*/5, I love these and have not found dim sum places in Chinatown that serve the light, easy to tear apart version of this anywhere and Sang Kee Asian Bistro does not offer this on their otherwise wonder dim sum menu. I am SO happy to find this and will be back again and again just for these. Along with some hot, sweetened soy milk to dip them in, this will be my special treat/snack go to item at Taste of Chang'an. Hooray! Pork & Chives dumplings - 5/5, these are very good dumplings and although I like the filling I make better, I am unwilling to make my own wrappers so I can imagine ordering these for takeout in the future as an appetizer for a party. Hot & Sour soup - 4/5, good overall but could use more hot and more sour. I appreciated how the broth was actually not broth and not as gummy as some hot and sour soups can be. Changan Biangbiang Noodles - 4/5, I appreciated the hand pulled noodles but found the ratio of pork belly pieces to the amount of noodles to be too low so after eating my way half through the bowl I had only noodles left. Flavors are good, but the next day I did not want to eat my leftovers which is a sign. Pork Ribs Noodles - 4/5, my son had this and he and I agreed the pork ribs were more flavorful than the pork belly pieces in my noodles. He also had many leftover noodles with no more meat, and did not want to eat the leftovers. Sauteed Spicy Chicken Noodle - 4/5, my husband had this and it looked more like a chicken/green pepper dish on a bed of noodles. Leftovers had a good ratio of all items in the dish and I did eat these the next day for lunch. When I go back, I'd like to try their zha jiang noodles, pork buns, scallion pancakes, and their other dishes. And I am so happy to have found somewhere on the Main Line where I can pick up fresh, hot you tiao!

We were walking back to the car when we passed an outdoor mall, with a few restaurants. We noticed a nice crowd at DanDan, read a few reviews and decided to try it out. It was a Friday around 5:30 and we had no trouble getting a table, although by the time we left, it was getting crowded. We started with the Potstickers (fried dumplings) - they offer chicken and vegetable - we got the chicken. They were delicious- there was a nice crispy sear on one side from the pan fry, yet the dumpling was tender and the chicken filling was flavorful. Our first entree was the Jing Jiang Dish - sliced beef sautéed in a sweet bean sauce and topped with shredded scallions. The beef was tender and the bean sauce, which tasted like teriyaki, was very good. Our second entree was the star of the dinner - Honey Pine Nut Shrimp, which was fried shrimp tossed in a homemade cream sauce with red and green bell peppers. It was excellent! Large, tender shrimp - with a light fried coating were amazing. The cream sauce was luscious - I would never have thought a mayonnaise based sauce with honey and cream would work with shrimp - it was outstanding. DanDan has primarily spicy dishes, but there are several items on the menu with light or no spice for those who prefer not to have it. We will definitely be returning to DanDan for the Shrimp and try a few more dishes

Two of us shared the hand ripped noodles and an order of wonton in soup. Both dishes were fine but not that impressive. There's much better Chinese food in center city Philly (of course), and for the price, I'd rather go somewhere else. Overall, wouldn't really come back, but also wouldn't turn it down if someone else was enthusiastic.
