I have VERY mixed reviews on this location. On one hand their food is AMAZING. On the other hand when we went for pick up we saw a ROACH! I can't decide if its worth it to continue taking my business here. Good chinese food is hard to come by. When I've eaten here before we've always had our food delivered, so this was our first time going in to pick it up. So if we hadn't gone in I would have never known about this issue. I guess its tough because I'm sure this is common at a lot of food places, but its one thing to assume and another to KNOW. When telling a friend they said restraunts are allowed "a small amount of pests" because it would be impossible to have a location with ZERO pests. I do feel like having ants and having roaches are two different things. The only thing I can think about is if we saw the roach in the sitting area, what do they do when they are back there near the food. My moms response to this was "Let's just bless our food lol" Besides the roach, this wouldn't be a place I'd want to take my family to dine in, which they do have tables where you could eat in. The dining area was very outdated and the pictures of the food to order from were very faded. I would def classify this place as a "carry out only" place. Still debating on if I will continue eating here with knowing they have roaches. I do think they overheard us saying we saw one because we could smell a very strong smell of bug spray, which also concerns me since they were back where our food was being cooked.

I have been looking for a Chinese restaurant to rival the one in my hometown. This. Is. It. The chicken and broccoli was DELISH. The brown sauce was sweet and savory, the broccoli was perfectly cooked with a little bit of a crunch, and there was a more than fair share of chicken. Yum! The rice was also cooked perfectly. My partner ordered the beef with broccoli and he is still raving about it the next day. This was my first experience with delivery through Grub Hub. I was very impressed. The delivery driver called me when he was outside. It was estimated at 45-55 minutes, but arrived in about 35 minutes. Everything was great.

This place needs some help please all contractors are welcome

Usually I go to a restaurant like this one and food is really good even though the decor looks bad...this place was the exact opposite. Not only was it filthy on the inside the food was sub par. It was visibly dirty everywhere. I would never go back again.

Food was nice and hot. Ordered chicken fried rice but I wish it had more in it. It was mostly rice and chicken pieces. Also ordered the chicken "tenders" which were basically chicken pieces meant for sweet and sour chicken so heads up there. Lastly, we ordered the crab ragoon which was sweeter than others I've had. Overall not bad. Parking sucks too btw!

If this was my last meal, I'd die happy!

Through exhaustive research, due diligence, and trial and error, I have searched for the best Chinese restaurant in Indianapolis. I have created an algorithm that calculates the "best" by adding together taste, affordability, location, portion size in relation to cost, and customer service. After going through the numbers and calculating the score of China King, I can say with little reservation that China King on 38th is my hands down favorite. Ok, that was a lie. I hate math. But I loveeeeee me some China King. I have been here numerous times and tasted several of their dishes, and I have yet to leave disappointed. Everything is ready within "10 minute," and comes in fantastic portions. My favorite thing to order is their boneless spare ribs. Let me tell you, if you were able to package Michael Jackson in his prime, compliment it with some fried rice and serve it with a fortune cookie, that is the equivalent to their boneless spare ribs. It is the Michael Jackson of Chinese Food entrees! It's like the food (through it's smell/taste) is singing "I'm Bad!" (Editors Note: Good-Bad/Not Bad-Bad) If that example wasn't strong enough for you, if Indianapolis ever enacts the "Too Sexy for Your Own Good" law, and I am convicted and sentenced to death (apparently if you're convicted it is punishable by death), my last meal would be the boneless spare ribs platter. No exaggeration, I would face death with a smile and a full stomach. Now don't get me wrong, in terms of quality, I am sure that there are "better" Chinese restaurants in Indianapolis. But if you're looking for something quick, filling, DELICIOUS, and CHEAP, it doesn't get any better than China King!

Chow Mein "noodles" fair warning: They give a bag of...chips? Not the wok, hard fried "noodles" I get at other places. Go LoMein

Great tasting food, good delivery service and cleaner than a Beijing hutong fandian, but could still use a good scrub up.

Even with the springtime rush making the parking a bit of a challenge, the atmosphere inside is wonderfully inviting. I managed to snag a darling little corner for myself, and the energy was just perfect. The hospitality here is truly top-tier; both the cashier and the gentleman behind the counter are simply lovely. My waiter was beyond charming and presented a menu with an impressive array of sophisticated choices everything from Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup to Steamed Eggplant and Beef Pancakes, with most entrees beautifully priced between $15 and $20. I decided on the Beef Noodle Soup ($12), and oh my goodness it arrived in a mere ten minutes! Talk about impeccable service. The broth was divine, and the meatballs were prepared to perfection. I was so caught up in the moment that I completely forgot to snap a photo before finishing every last bite! It was an absolute triumph of a meal. I've been on the hunt for solid American-Chinese food and anything close to more traditional Cantonese-style dishes. Still searching overall, but Tian Fu definitely has some pretty solid options. I specifically go out of my way for their Beef Stir-Fried Rice Noodles (Beef Chow Fun), which I haven't been able to find anywhere else in the city. The noodles have great texture and flavor, and it totally scratches that craving. I also really liked their fried marinated chicken wings, perfect mix of crispy skin and flavorful. I've heard they have a separate Chinese menu you can request, which makes me even more curious to dine in sometime and explore more of their offerings. Overall, I'd recommend them for the variety alone, easily one of the better Chinese food spots in the city, especially if you're on the east side and want something reliable for takeout.
