I actually came here on a quick case of munchies and finding the closest chinese spot next to me after a long day helping a friend organize a house warming and several drinks once the party started. Unfortunately there wasn't much at the party that appealed to my personal palette so on a quick trip to pick up more supplies at the local supermarket, I saw this spot close by and figured I'd give it a try since I genuinely love Chinese food. I ordered the Chicken and Broccoli in white sauce and it wasn't bad and did exactly what I needed it to do but the wait for the food itself took forever. Way longer than I've had to wait for food for a quite a while to be honest. Not sure if they were short staffed or what but it seemed to be functioning as normal unless I was missing something. My personal issue with the time it took for the food is that they kept telling me it'll be ready soon but it clearly wasn't. Can't say I'll be back primarily because I don't live in the area and it was just something that hit the spot right when I needed it but overall the food was pretty good and I had no complaints about it. POISON I called in an order for Egg Foo Young 5/6/24 and when I got it home I realized it tasted bad because it was burnt on the other side. I called immediately and the cashier was nice, he said they would make me a new one, so come get it. Unfortunately he or the cook put eye drops in the gravy and poisoned me!! Within an hour I ran to the bathroom, then felt extremely weak, drained, depleted and could hardly move, heart was beating slow, couldn't stay awake and had chills and fever for about 16 hours. It passed after that and I was just tired the whole next day. I had eaten nothing before eating this for lunch, so I looked up eye drop poisoning and it matched. The reviews on here are super outdated. This place is actually really good and I've been several times over the last month or two. I can speak for their meat dishes but their home style tofu is ridiculously delicious. It's always super hot and fresh when I pick up. They're friendly and super pandemic-conscious. It's pickup and delivery only, from what I can tell, as the restaurant is blocked off and there's only a walk up window to pickup & pay. I'm honestly totally fine with that. It's quick and fresh every time I call. Things you should never see at an eating establishment: Food being prepared out in the open on a table. China Inn it was nice, but it's over. You know better than that. Smh! I used to love, love China Inn. It was your typical affordable Chinese takeout place, and the husband and I would stop by there a couple a times a month. However, one day I saw one of their staff or owners (not sure) preparing dumplings on one of the eating tables reserved for customers, out in the open. I was so mortified that I had to snap a pic. To some people preparing dumplings on a table may not be a big deal, but I'm sure in food handling 101 that is a no no. You can't prepare food on a table without any type of covering that many people have eaten on, and you can't just prepare food and walk away from it unattended with no regard that a customer could do something to it. Your food is always ready in 10 minutes and the staff is very friendly. I usually get a veggie dish or sometimes I'll go for a shrimp one. Last night it was General Tso's Shrimp with steamed rice. Hey, when you see the people eating their own food, you can't hate. I've always noticed this spot from going to Subway next door or Publix a few steps down. I don't really fancy Chinese food like that, but the Mr. wanted something other than Mexican cuisine. He asked me if I wanted to check out China Inn and I did despite some of the reviews I've seen. I ordered the Mixed Veggies and requested Garlic Sauce instead of the brown sauce with a side of Vegetable Fried Rice, oh and an order of Crab Ragoon. I wouldn't dare order Chinese food with out it. There's no way that you can mess that up. I waited until we got home to open everything up. Well, it looked good! The fried rice wasn't what I expected - it had a bunch of broccoli and carrots in it, along with peas, and egg. It was really good! I was pleasantly surprised. Oh, I forgot to mention that I called first to see what time they closed. It was a toss up between China Inn and Star East [ive been there once]. So anyway, the lady on the phone proceeded to ask me what I wanted. I stuttered and said "uh, uh, I'll just come in and order" (I kinda wanted to see what the place looked like inside since a trusted yelper was disgusted by them preparing food on service tables) So the lady said "yeah, you just come in", in her deepest accent. Before we left, she stopped us and said "you just called?" I confirmed and she smiled and said "thank you coming in. yeah, come in." see you next time." I laughed and thanked her. This place is no Oriental Express. Nor is it the amazeballs Chinese food that is found in the neighborhoods of New York. But! This place is consistent, friendly, and clean. Everytime I go in- things look right. From what I can pick up, this particular restaurant is run by family (or friends) and it has that feel to it. The food is good. Food is decent and lunch prices are a good deal, but the service is awful. I'm not sure if there is some kind of cultural time warp thing happening - but the employees barely speak English, take forever to wait on you, never give you refills and have to be asked repeatedly for the check. Recognize this place for what it is: a take-out Chinese joint. Is it as good as anything in China Town or even a sit down place? Of course not. It is, however, consistently good quality, fast, and friendly. Menu has all the classics. Orders are always fresh tasting and prepared fast. Always amazed at the number of walk-in customers who then take-out. It's so easy to call ahead if you have a menu (one comes with every order) and then pick it up ten minutes later. This was my second time ordering from China Inn and the customer service was horrible...again. I ordered the sweet & sour chicken combo (chicken, fried rice & an egg roll) and a hot & sour soup. I ate the chicken first then moved on to the soup. I ate about half of it until I put more soup on my spoon and noticed a ROACH in the soup. My husband immediately called China Inn and the lady was extremely rude. Her first response was, "sometime bugs fly in the food from the trees." My husband said he needs the full refund for what we purchased, she insisted on only refunding $2.00 and a replacement soup. My husband continuously shared that that wasn't acceptable, so she told me to come in the next day because they were closing. My husband went in there today with the unfinished soup with a roach in it, egg roll and the fried rice that I didn't touch after finding the roach in my soup. Again, she tried to argue she'd only refund $2.00. It got to the point that my husband shared that they had his 9 months pregnant wife eating soup with a roach in it and he would also report it to the county's public health department. She quickly refunded him for the entire meal after he said that. I looked up China Inn's restaurant score & they have failed NUMEROUS times just within the past year. We won't be back. read more

She had it bagged up and when we asked for two plates so that we can eat inside, she seemed annoyed. She actually dug inside the bag of food for the two plastic forks, since we were using silverware. Do not buy anything from China inn. Last night we ordered shrimp and vegetables and chicken and rice. I found that shrimps are not clean and still have the stuff on the back. I couldn't finish my food. My wife who had chicken and rice woke up in midnight and threw up. We are going to call the health department too.
