China Heaven is a decent fast food restaurant. My order was Kung Pao Beef which was good, but prefer it to be spicier than it was made (will ask them to crank it up a notch next time). See pic. Also pics of outside and inside included. This was during Covid, so no indoor dining; you can phone in order or order at the restaurant. Friendly staff. Four friends had hiked at Jones Bridge park and China Heaven is a short distance away. Everybody was happy with their food. The consensus was the food quality was three star, but the price was five star, so we averaged it to a four star. Nobody left hungry. This was after our Christmas day hike. We were hungry and called China Heaven to verify they were open. Normally I would not patronize a place on Christmas day, as want folks to be able to spend time with the family. But friend said if they are open, it makes sense to go there as the staff is there anyway. I went and justified it by giving a big tip!

    Bean Curd Home Style

Tonight was my third time visiting this restaurant and they now have a customer for good. Not only is the food reasonable and delicious, but the portion sizes are generous. Their egg rolls are crispy and seasoned well. The tofu and veggies is also some of the best that I have had in some time. The lo mein is fresh and has the right amount of sauce and seasoning without being too overwhelming. On this visit, I again ordered the Home Style Bean Curd, vegetable egg rolls and vegetable lo mein. My order came with two free vegetable egg rolls because of the total and I was looking forward to enjoying my dinner. Unfortunately, my car would not start and the owner came out to help me with a jump. The car still would not come on and I had to order a tow. The wait was over 3.5 hours and it had been a rough day. As if the prior gesture was not kind enough, the owner and his wife went the extra mile (literally) to give me a ride home as it was rather late. The kindness of the owners floored me especially after a long day, I am certain, of serving customers. This will be my go to spot for Chinese food from now on. I cannot thank them enough for such great service and generosity to a complete stranger. If you want great food and service, look no further!

    The online picture

The food was not very flavorful. The fried rice was the best part of my meal. I ordered the bbq ribs, broccoli beef, and teriyaki chicken. The chicken was breaded and covered in a sauce. I ordered online so I expected the food that I received to look like the food pictured. When I got home with my order and saw that it was this breaded orange chicken looking dish I called. I had picked up my food 15 minutes before closing. By the time we got home and sat down to eat, they were closed so I didn't even know if they would still be there but I called anyway. The woman answered the phone and told me that, I was wrong about what her teriyaki chicken looks like and my order was correct. I don't know. You be the judge.

    LD31 Sesame Chicken Lunch Combo

This place is located really close to my own house in the same shopping center that holds Studio Movie Grill. They are also located next to McDonald's as well. I have gotten takeout from this establishment in the past and have to say that the food from here that I have gotten from was good. However, when I ordered takeout lunch from them this past Monday...the chicken fried rice that came with my lunch special was absolutely horrible. I don't know if it was an off day for them or what. I had ordered their L31 Sesame Chicken lunch special. This came with Sesame Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, one Egg Roll, and one chicken wing. The Sesame Chicken, Egg Roll, and Chicken Wing were absolutely delicious. But, nothing spectacular at all. I did not like nor enjoy the Chicken Fried Rice that came with my Sesame Chicken lunch special at all. I do not know what went wrong that day with them or if it was just an off day for them. But, I know that they can do better. The service is excellent as well as friendly and quick. The atmosphere is none other than your standard average take out Chinese restaurant. It is not like your regular Chinese restaurant like (Golden Buddha) on Clairmont Road in Decatur. To me this Chinese restaurant is not the kind that you would like to just sit down and enjoy the atmosphere while you eat. I have also tried their shrimp toast and their BBQ spare ribs. The ribs were alright at best and their shrimp toast was alright at best as well. But, they were both nothing spectacular or anything. The food is not expensive at all. My LD31 lunch special cost only me $6.95, the price is good. However, I am not sure whether or not if I will be ordering take out again from this place again. If I do, I will do an update of this review.

As we pulled in front of the restaurant, I was very impressed by the modern exterior - very nice! Parking is a breeze - you can valet or self-park in the back of the restaurant. We had reservations but arrived a little early and had to wait about 5-10 minutes to be seated - not a huge deal for a busy Saturday night. Once we got to our table, we had an amazing experience. The table was sprinkled with rose petals and a card wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Our server, Tony, came promptly to take our order and noted our food allergies and restrictions. Our first course was the seafood tower, which I was able to customize with more shrimp since I'm allergic to oysters. Second, we had the lobster bisque and the burrata & beet salad. Both were divine! For the main course, I had the scallops while my husband had the filet medallions Oscar style, which comes with asparagus. We also ordered two additional sides for sharing - the crab fried rice and truffle mac. You honestly can't go wrong with either dish! We loved our meal but my husband wasn't crazy about the steak. We let our server know and the restaurant accommodated us accordingly. The service here is top notch and we cannot wait to dine here in the near future.

As for the food, it was hit-or-miss. My husband ordered the steak sliders from happy hour menu, but they were disappointing--it was just a small, thick cut of steak placed on a bun, rather than being thinly sliced, and it completely lacked any sauce. I also tried the beet salad from the regular menu, which was truly delicious, but it felt incredibly expensive for what it was. The drink options were a bit of a letdown. The happy hour cocktails seemed to be made with pretty low-end vodka, which threw the flavor profile way off. Because of that, we ended up ordering additional drinks from the regular menu instead--which defeated the whole purpose of going for happy hour. On the positive side, our server was absolutely on point and did a fantastic job, even though she was serving the entire bar by herself. The atmosphere was also lovely--the live band provided great background noise without being overpowering, so the overall vibe definitely worked. While the service and ambiance were great, the happy hour value and overall execution just weren't there for me.

Some things were awesome like their pizzabirria is not to be missed, and the salsa is very very good. The cheese dip was delicious To be fair to them we ordered to go... never as good as eating in. We ordered a lot of food 9 orders of fajitas. The chicken and The shrimp were good ...but the steak (we ordered rare /pink) was raw inedible and unbelievably fatty (60% fat 40% meat) the meat was completely unseasoned so we didn't even bother trying. Truly disappointing . If we were eating in we would have asked for it to be cooked . I specifically asked for no sour cream in or on anything and they put sour cream in the guacamole. Don't bother with their house special guac because it's not seasoned with salt or lime, too chunky and more tomato and onion than avocado. guacamole has a creamy texture and this didn't. The people who could eat dairy/sour cream ate their regular guacamole and said it was tasty. I asked for everything to be separated and no cheese on anything and the beans were served with cheese. Again the people in my family who are dairy free couldn't eat it. If I hadn't been so specific while ordering, I wouldn't even hesitate to give this Restaurant an extra star. But I made sure when I walked in to ask if somebody had reviewed the order to make sure there was no dairy in anything. They also assured me that the new server had looked at everything and made sure that there was no dairy added, that anything dairy was on the side. They were hosting a salsa and bachata class when I walked in and it looked like fun!
