I love their Pad Thai. Just need to ask for more chili . Caused I ate Pad Thai in Bangkok, that's why it's hard to find at least similar tastes. This Pad Thai was very similar. The restaurant ambience was very nice and friendly. The services were great. The server, I believe his name Roy, helped a lots with the menu. The price was affordable for dinner time. Absolutely will come again. read more

J's Asian Cafe is a place you MUST TRY. From the taste of the food, the top tier service, to the overall ambiance.. it's all 100! The interior offers beautiful artwork on the walls as you enter, and the interior seating is done in a lovely shade of sheer purple. Parking is shared with the other tenants in the shopping center, but plenty is available. The first time I ate here I started to eat as soon as my food was placed in front of me, that I forgot to take photos. Our waitress Pawnie is the BEST! She's helped us both times we've been in and even remembered what appetizer my husband and I said we wanted to try on our next visit. As soon as she recognized us tonight, she was already putting the order in so we wouldn't have to wait long. Like I said, wonderful service. This restaurant offers a vast variety of dinner options. If you're in the mood for sushi, opt for "dining in," as all rolls will then be 30% off! On this visit we ordered the Roti Canai appetizer (Indian Pancake served with Curry dipping sauce), two Picasso Rolls, and a side Hot and Sour Soup. Soup is always my favorite. I've now tried two from here, and both have been so flavorful and filling. The sushi rolls are all presented beautifully, and we have yet to order an appetizer that we don't plan to try again. 10/10! read more

We've dined in several times this year and also ordered takeout. The staff is fantastic--every time. They're friendly, generous, and really make you feel like a million bucks when you dine in. The large menu selection--Malaysian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and even some Indian dishes--makes it hard to choose. There are so many soups and appetizers, and everything is prepared beautifully. The quality is consistently very good, portions are generous, and takeout travels well. J's Asian Restaurant has become a go-to for us, whether we're eating in or grabbing food to go. Highly recommended. read more

On one of the busiest days of the year, we experienced a wonderful meal at J's. Beyond the meal, Roy our server is truly a professional in his craft. In one of those rare moments we were treated with respect and kindness as Roy served our meals, topped off our drinks and made us feel relaxed in his care. read more

Exceeding expectations! I'm always wary of trying new sushi places but I'm so glad I checked out the new flyer I got in the mail! Sushi was very fresh !! I got the salmon and spicy tuna and both or top notch ! Generous portions too. The miso soup was also packed with tofu and seaweed. Normal those I barely found any at other restaurants...could be beginners luck .. idk. Anyway, the staff were awesome and immediate brought extra water for myself and my dogs when they saw me take my to go order to the porch on the side. Nice decor and indoor / outdoor seating. Sushi was so good I decided to get the massaman curry chicken to take home too! Food was ready in less than 10 minutes !!! read more

Jack of all trades. Master of none. This restaurant boasts a variety of cuisines Thai Malaysian Chinese and Sushi. My family has ordered take out from this establishment and we ate in for the first time last night. The food is a mixed bag. Their appetizers and sushi are usually pretty good but I feel that the other cuisines have not really blown me away. I think it's just very conveniently located. The staff is very nice and inviting regardless of if you're taking out or eating in which earns them an extra star in my book. I feel like the staff always adds to the dining experience when they are friendly and knowledgeable. read more

First time at J's. We were the first customers of the day and the whole staff welcomed us in. The egg drop soup was great and the entrees were very good as well. The veggie spring rolls weren't the best but they offered us a free sample of a new sushi item for the day called Takoyaki. It was very good. We'll definitely be back! The ambiance was quiet and very nice. read more

J's is under new ownership, but if anything they've actually gotten better if that's possible! There is an ongoing search for good Chinese in the Alpharetta area and IMO. This is consistently the best I have found. Very pleasant atmosphere, great service and the food is always reliably good. Reasonably priced for the portions. Our favorite sesame chicken, Mongolian, chicken, Tom ka soup with shrimp and sushi. read more

Best Chinese food I've had in a long time.also generous portions for a reasonable cost.

Honestly, the best Chinese food we have had since leaving Manhattan. Absolutely, hands down, delicious.

This is a casual restaurant with a good variety of malaysian/thai, chinese, and sushi/sashimi. They have half off rolls mon-wed which is a great deal. The sushi rolls are pretty good - I got to try the dynamite, dancing tuna, spider roll, and spicy rainbow roll. Fish was fresh and portions were good, and the spicy sauce was spicier than I expected. I also shared the honey walnut shrimp with my family, and it was a little over-fried compared to how I usually get it at other restaurants. However, the flavor was still good. One negative part of my experience was that the server misheard one of the sushi roll orders and brought the wrong one - then when we brought it up, he said he would go back and get the right one without taking the wrong order back. We then got charged for both rolls without the server mentioning anything about it or offering to take it back. In general otherwise the service was friendly but sometimes we felt there was a communication barrier. read more

We came to the restaurant as a group for dinner. Although it's close to my home I did not know the restaurant. There are plenty of seating and the service was courteous. I was surprised that the variety of menu choices including Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, and even Korean. I picked Char Kway Teow since I felt like to have Malaysian food tonight and it is described as Malaysian-famous stir-fried flat rice noodles. It did not disappoint me, I liked it, specially the taste of caramelized rice noodle, it reminded me of Hong Kong well known Dry fried beef and Ho Fun, the Chinese name of this dish 干炒牛河, only difference is it came with shrimp, squid, that is perfectly fine with me. I would give 4 star for the restaurant. But my wife was very disappointed with her dish - Sambal Chili Sauce with Okra, Eggplant, String Bean, the dish came cold, after recooked she found it salty , my friends had similar experiences. So in all I had to remove one star from my rating. read more

4/15/22 - 9pm - party of 2 Oh J! Say it isn't so! J's Asian Cafe was one of our favorite spots in eat while living in the Atlanta area. Everything was always fresh, well prepared and the place was spotless. We arrived at 9pm on Friday evening and something seemed off when we walked in. Less than 8 customers in the restaurant. Our table was sticky, the plates were dirty and the window blinds and sills were thick with dust. I asked our waiter if J was still the owner and he said it was sold in 2020. We should have left at that point but the menu was similar - more focus on sushi now but a few of our favorite dishes were on the menu. We started with pan-fried dumplings and Hot California roll. The dumplings were the frozen ones from a grocery store. I'm not sure why they named the sushi roll HOT because it had no spice at all. The rice was really wet and didn't "stick" like it should. Very low quality ingredients. My son ordered the Hunan Sauce Chicken, which was marked with a red pepper on the menu meaning it was hot. He told the waiter he liked heat. He requested carrots added to his mix of vegetables. The plate had no carrots and absolutely no heat at all. It was incredibly bland. I ordered the Massaman Curry which was supposed to have carrots but none were in my dish either. The cashews were fried hard and the avocado on top was brown. The curry sauce tasted weird - like soap. Completely inedible! The waiter removed it from my bill. It is extremely disappointing that a fine establishment had sunken to this level. I wish J took his restaurant back! Not sure where he is now - maybe enjoying retirement - but I'm sure he would be mortified if he saw his prize restaurant now! read more

Friendly and diverse menu and is our go-to neighborhood Asian restaurant. Their Thai, Malaysian, Chinese, and Sushi menus are all excellent and worth eating off of if you are craving their particular cuisines. So this place can be the peacemaker when you have a fiend who "hates sushi" yet you'd like some good sushi. Prices are affordable and most dishes include soup. Good food, great service. We had hot and sour soup, a sushi roll and some curried chicken. Definitely delicious. We'll be back.

J's Asian Cafe features Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Malaysian food with a nice ambiance and decor. We dined in for our first time on Chinese New Year and the restaurant was packed, service was great, and I was pleasantly surprised with the food. Our chicken fried rice and sushi rolls tasted great. We came in on a separate occasion and the atmosphere was quieter. We ordered the General Tsos chicken and sushi rolls to share. The quality was not the same on our 2nd visit. The menu is very vast with cuisines from 4 different countries. My best advice is to streamline the menu and perfect a few of the most popular dishes. read more

I came here for lunch to try this place out because I seen all the great reviews and it's not too far where I used to stay at. All the prices on the lunch menu was no more than $8.00. I was expecting to see way higher prices. So I assumed the portions would be super small. Every lunch entree comes with an egg roll and choice of miso, hot n sour, or wonton soup, or fried rice/steam rice. If you want brown rice option, it's an extra $1.50 more. I picked the Wonton and hot/sour soup for my appetizers and I got to say that the hot/sour soup flavor is one of the best I have ever tasted. The fries crackers was so crunchy and fresh. I can't wait to eat some more hot/sour soup from here. As for the entrees, I picked the Kung Pao Calamari, Shrimp Pad Thai, Thai Spicy Basil Chicken, and the Red Curry Beef. I picked fried rice and white rice to go with my meals. Since I ordered 4 lunch entrees, it came with 4 soups, 4 bowls of rice, and 4 egg rolls. I loved the Shrimp Pad Thai because of the tangy flavor and it actually came with like 6 shrimps which surprisingly is a lot vs other restaurants. The portion of the pad Thai was surprisingly for a lunch portion. I was really shocked! It's was a lot!!! My favorite was the Thai Spicy Basil chicken as the chicken chunks were big and the flavor was indeed delicious. I also enjoyed the red curry beef and tasted like your typical ones at other places. The Kung Pao calamari was okay but I probably won't be ordering it again. The egg rolls cake super hot and fresh. When I say it came hot, it was burning hot!!! Lol The waiter service was amazing and she helped us out very nicely. Refills and clearing old plates was super fast. This place is a gem in the Johns Creek area and I definitely will read more

The decor is great and clean, and I really enjoyed the ambiance. Their Jjambong is amazing. One of the best I've had in the OTP area. Defintely top 5. But it's HUGE. I usually finish all my noodles no matter what, but this time it wasn't happening. It's literally 2 meals. I decided next time I want to get takeout so I can actually get 2 meals. The Jjajangmyun we ordered double noodle, so two people could eat. They said they gave us normal size so they brought out almost an entire nother bowl. So we just had a massive amount of noodles everywhere. We also ordered the tangsuyuk, which was delicious. PRO TIP - the Jjajang and Tangsuyuk come with the sauce already poured on them. Thus, if you take it home, it's very soggy. And it's so much food that you can have great take out - but ask for the sauce separately! Finally, I saw people eating a spicy, boiling dish and was told it was Manatang. So I ordered one to-go - why not? I got the seafood one and it was quite tasty - again a massive amount of food (though it's like $22.95) but it was a bit too salty with a particular smell that made me not want to order it again (we got 4 meals out of it). Did I say their portions are huge? Anyway all in all, I'm a fan! read more

We LOOOVE this place! Food is beyond fresh and delicious. Everything we have ever ordered was incredibly tasty and fresh. Their to-go orders show up at our door within 20 mins of ordering. It melted in my mouth - pure heaven. read more

I did both takeouts and dine-in for this place and will probably come here more often now too! The first time I chose to eat here, I did takeouts for dinner. I had their spicy eggplant in garlic sauce with beef, beef chow fun, and their pepper steak. Their pepper steak was underwhelming to me but in hindsight, I had the spicy eggplant and the flavor stood out more than the pepper steak. The beef chow fun was good, nothing special or crazy about it. My only take on it was the texture of the beef on all three dishes. It wasn't bad but the chew felt dry. The only way I can describe the texture of the beef was if you've ever had chicken liver, that's how it felt to me but again, it wasn't bad and it didn't ruin the whole dish. I noticed that they have a 50% off on sushi rolls on Tuesday and Sunday lunch only so I went to try it as well; this special is dine-in only. The rolls were great and the laksa noodles was hearty. I would definitely come back here for their sushi specials; no place else can beat the price they give here for the quality of the sushi. The restaurant is big so there's plenty of space to seat for social distancing. Will come back here again, for sure! read more

We have been searching for an Asian restaurant and this place totally fit the bill. We ordered a pallet of food to try out various menu items and were not disappointed. The food, admittedly, needed some salt, especially the rice, but the flavors were delicious and it felt so fresh. Nothing was heavy or greasy. It was fantastic. Hot and sour soup was probably the best I've ever had. We really enjoyed the egg drop soup as well. We didn't care for the pineapple fried rice too much, but that was more a personal preference than something to knock J's about. BBQ sore ribs are not the traditional ones you get from a typical Chinese place, they are Korean short ribs and soooo good. Shrimp summer rolls also delish. We tried live every noodle. I didn't really care for the ones with the squid in it, they tasted soooo fishy, but if you like seafood it will probably be fine. Loved the lo mein and beef noodles. Crispy noodles served with the soup were so greasy but We ate them anyway. They gave us plenty of soy sauce, chopsticks, and fortune cookies which we appreciated. Delicious and so friendly!! We've been eating here even before the whole virus lockdown and it's always exceeded our expectations! Delicious kitchen food that always comes out so flavorful and hot! Since the whole covid quarantine, we've been having to opt for take out instead, and even still the food has been on par with how it would be for dine in! Recently a few weeks back. They've decided to open up for dine in with limited seating. Advertising a 50% off sushi special, we've decided to come in for lunch for a super super quick lunch. The sushi is so fresh and well prepared! It's honestly such a steal to get their sushi lunches! I'm still wary of eating out, and by no means am I asking everyone to disregard quarantine/ social distancing to come here. But I suggest supporting small local businesses and helping out those in the service industry being hit pretty hard from this lockdown! Staff is so friendly, even just coming in to grab my take out they've started to recognize me and make me feel as if I've been a long time family friend /SOB/ probably my go to restaurant for sushi and any asian cuisine!
