Without going into too much detail cause I don't feel like it because I'm pretty pissed. This food was awful hands down. It tasted like a wet dog. I got the dinner for one option, where I got sweet-and-sour chicken, fried rice, one crab, Rangoon, one egg roll, and egg drop soup. Everything tasted like it was frozen beyond frozen and expired. The blandness was so overwhelming. I had to load it down with salt and pepper because I didn't have enough sauce. Now they didn't give me enough of that. I'm tired of going in these places and they knowingly serve poorly, made dishes. I just went into another place the other day and they screwed up my general TSO's chicken. This is sweet-and-sour chicken. I've had better Chinese at panda express for God sake's awful, awful, awful awful.. Service was fine and all that stuff I mean, this was a takeout place. The wait was terrible but the food was even worse. We ordered $50 worth of food through Uber eats and threw it all away. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was literally white (check the picture) not to mention the smell. Didn't even feel comfortable feeding the chicken to our dogs. This was a solid restaurant. The sesame chicken was decent. The crab Rangoon a were as well. I may have been tempted to leave three stars, but the egg drop soup was incredibly good... thick and rich and full of flavor. It was also a bit more expensive than I was expecting. They also included the little fried crisps/chips that you put in the soup. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Keep up the great work!! read more

We've lived in the area for well over a decade and have yet to find great Chinese takeout. China Kitchen is our go to spot. The food is always ready for pickup, and the family is nice. It's a pickup spot, so not the best atmosphere to do anything but catch a quick bite if necessary. Over the years I recognized that the taste and quality are a crap shoot. The best 2 items we've orders is the Kau Pung Chicken and General Taos Chicken, both with fried rice. The house lo mien and Shrimp egg foo young are good most of the time, but good is only as good as you've had it. I must add that our most recent order left me feeling as though I'd had a reaction that affected my glands, but in all fairness, I will also say that I was the only one out of the 3 of us who ate the food and was affected. WOW. What a delicious lunch! In the area craving Chinese and searched. So glad we found this place!! Unassuming location next to Kroger but clean and spotless. We ordered and within a reasonable amount of time our food came. It was very obviously prepared to order and SO delicious! Served on china plates, such a nice touch! Great service, very friendly! In my opinion this restaurant is the number one contender for chinese food in Forsyth county. I have been to lots of different Chinese take out places and this has been the best by far. The staff and owner at this location are friendly, and extremely hard working. They are one of the only Chinese restaurants still serving Fried Wontons (with the meat in them) - and they are the best I've had in Georgia at that.They are always cooked to perfection, never burnt, and the taste is rich. I can tell that they are frying it in clean oil and taking care with preparation as well. They do lunch specials daily I wouldn't hesitate to try something new because I know the care they are putting into their work. They have a very good menu selection, reasonably priced dishes and very attentive service. I order frequently from here and the food is consistently good no matter what I order. The house lo mein is especially good. As someone who doesn't like onions, I hate when I order a dish and it's covered in onions. While this has some cooked in for flavor, they are minimal and manageable within the dish. The sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken and hunan beef are all also good dishes to try (I would recommend extra spicy if you like spicy hunan beef). While the food is good, I love how quick this restaurant is with delivery. I consistently receive my food in under 30 minutes after I order when others take upward of an hour. Recently, I placed an online order and accidentally selected the wrong dish. The restaurant, knowing what I typically order, called to confirm if what I had selected was what I intended. As it was not, I was especially thankful for their extra bit of customer service. Overall a good Chinese restaurant if you're looking for consistent quality. read more

It's all the same. $10 for fried rice. $10 for chow mein, by the time you've gotten your carbs and protein dish your already hitting close to $50. The portions has to be the smallest I ever seen. Best thing about this restaurant is their delivery time. I ordered this online and had it delivered to my front door within 30 minutes and everything was nice and hot. However, overall the food was pretty average. Not bad, not great. Orange chicken was pretty standard, great portion size. I also ordered the egg drop soup; it would have benefitted with a little more salt, so I had to add that and pepper to make it a little more tasty. Lastly, I ordered the sugar donuts, those were pretty yummy - nice soft dough and a generous portion. This rating is only based on the take out side of this place. Inside its dirty and messy and nowhere I'd sit down. But I'm on a hunt for the best Chinese take out. I'm looking specifically for General Tso Chicken. I want crispy, flavorful, decent portions, cheap price. What I found at China Kitchen was pretty good. The taste of the food is okay but I don't order from this place anymore due to how cleanly they are. I have learned from doing food delivery for them that they don't take the right precautions especially during this pandemic. To start off they do not wear mask or clothes at all including while cooking and placing your items (including silverware) in your bag. I tried their sizzling rice soup and seafood delight. The sizzling rice soup had no rice. Literally 1 shrimp. Sizzling rice soup is a 2 person portion. It had 1 shrimp. And a TON of veggies. 0 rice. The seafood delight had shrimp, imitation crab meat and scallops. There were very few scallops (and they are the small kind), but a TON of imitation crab. I don't mind imitation crab if it's the good kind. This is the worst I've ever had. I would be willing to bet money it's 100% dough. The few shrimps in it were large though. It had not so fresh chicken inside. One of the worse egg rolls as far is freshness of any of the other local places I go. Tried the soup. Soup was good, but just okay. I was hoping the Hunan chicken was better. Not a chance. The fried rice was not fresh. You could tell it had been made many many hours before. The food did not have a great fresh taste either. Awesome Chinese take-out. I have been searching for a great Chinese take-out in the area and I found it. Our food arrived very quickly and the driver was very pleasant. The portions are huge and I felt like everything was freshly cooked rather than sitting under a heat lamp for hours on end, much like other places in the area. Once I thought about it and called, the driver was already at our old address. I gave her the new information and she was very kind and didn't make me feel bad for my mistake. Delivery was still fast even with my blunder! Furthermore, my order was a large, generous portion (enough for two meals) and very flavorful. It exceeded my expectations. Never thought I would say this ... I have had the pleasure of trying Chinese EVERYWHERE :) I thought the last little hole in the wall place I was referred to (different state) was perhaps the best authentic Chinese to be had and became a mainstay for me. HOWEVER: Being new to the area we took a stab off of reviews. We ordered a typical family meal (the spicy chicken is fantastic!) and each dish was properly prepared with the right amount of portioning in each said dish. There was not an entree tried that wasn't hands down fantastic! Everything was fresh and authentically delicious. Typically, we get two meals out of a our family orders. With China Kitchen we have had our 2nd meal and it was even better than the first (and still have enough for a couple of lunches! I have order food there in the past (years ago) and decided to try them again. I made a call in for a pick up order over the weekend. The lady who answered the phone was rude but I did not pay it much attention at first until I went in to pick up the food. The same lady who answered the phone and took my order was there scolding her son speaking in Cantonese. I was thinking to myself "if they would stop arguing for a second I can pick the food up and leave" and when they finally did. The lady noticed that I was there and stated "you are hear to pick up fried chicken" I then responded "yes but there were also two other dishes." She then stated "yeah, yeah" said the amount and then when she printed out the receipt, she threw the pen at me. As I was filling it out I made a decision not to come back or order any food from China Kitchen again. I do not care if someone is working there and has a bad day or not. It is a business and in this case there are plenty of other Chinese restaurants out there. It is something for her to think about if she is rude to anyone else. read more

After seeing that multiple people gave this location 5 stars and reading how satisfied they were w/the food, I was inclined to give this place a try today. I convinced several of my coworkers to try it w/me. No one was happy w/their food. It smelled so bad, I couldn't put the fork up to my mouth w/out feeling sick from the smell. I ordered plain fried rice and it was so fishy, it seemed unsanitary. The rice was so brown, it looked chocolate. Why did plain rice smell like fish? We all wasted money today, all that food went straight to the trash can and now the breakroom smells really ripe. I tried to get a refund, I was offered a free meal next time. Was picking up my Togo order and I was watching the guy in the back make someone else's until mine got done and there was a piece of broccoli on the ground and he picks it up and put it back inside of their food containers he one someone is about to eat with a DIRTTTY piece of broccoli In it I love the food well I used too not so much anymore. This is by far the best Chinese delivery in Alpharetta (and I've tried them all). Food is reasonably priced and delivery is fast. There spicy food is not so spicy so make sure you ask for the pepper oil if you want it spicier. Best crab rangoon in the area..not overcooked or poorly filled like other places I've tried. Hot and sour soup is another one that most places mess up, but China Kitchen's is good..not too thick like other places.Combo plates are the best bang and portions are large. I looked at another review who said that the lady that answers the phone can be bursque.
