Always good for a buffet and hibachi. Sushi is good and they usually have the good kind also.

I don't like leaving low ratings; I understand that it is someones livelihood. That being said,…read morethe food here is not good. Me and two coworkers went here for lunch to mix it up and try something new. When we walked in, the hostess rang us up as a party even though the first guy said he just wanted to pay for himself; whatever, we sorted it out among ourselves later. There is a buffet that serves southern food. Fried chicken, fried catfish, baked chicken, spaghetti, liver, dressing, mashed potatoes etc. Also offer a salad bar. The food was criminally underseasoned. Everything needed salt - I'm not sure if they keep it saltless to cater to the older people who make up the majority of their customers or what. Tried a lot of stuff looking for good food and I didn't find much. Fried chicken had too much breading, the breading tasted unseasoned. Dressing was very dry and had a consistency of cornmeal, you touched dit and it broke apart. Mashed potatoes were definitely instant mashed potatoes and not a good brand. Spaghetti sauce had a little meat in it, but tasted like stewed tomatoes. Cornbread was dry and unsweetened. Roll was OK. Green beans casserole was good. Coworker said liver and boiled cabbage was good, said catfish was bad and "none of it was great". Salad bar looked fresh. Another coworker had asked us to bring her back some dessert: when I sent her a picture of the desert bar, she changed her mind. They serve Pepsi products and offer sweet tea. Waitress was nice and we had pretty decent service. Buffet area was kept clean and stocked at all times. Would not return.

Started with fried chicken, Mac and cheese, fries, green beans and a grilled pork chop. The fries just came out when I was there but they were cold and soggy. Fried chicken was ok, Mac and cheese was missing a cheese with flavor. Beans and pork chop were edible but not as tasty as they should have been. Went back to try the catfish, wish I hadn't. Was cold, slightly undercooked and had no flavor at all. Thanks for tartar sauce for flavor. Had the carrot cake which turned out to be the best part of the meal. The restaurant was clean, staff friendly but the food was underwhelming.

I've tried nearly every Chinese restaurant in the city and I'm always left disappointed--until now. China Gourmet is appropriately named, because the quality and flavor profile of their food truly stands out. I visited during lunch and tried the buffet right as they opened. It was excellent. I sampled most of the proteins on the buffet, and every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. I've finally found my go-to spot for Chinese food in Huntsville. This isn't a fancy place, but it's clean, welcoming, and focused on delivering high-quality food. When I walked in, I was greeted by the owner, who was warm, kind, and genuinely hospitable. China Gourmet will not disappoint. Highly recommended. (CT)

Order process was a little confusing but Ok. $50 order consisting of Crab Rangoon, Happy Family, House Special Fried Rice and 3 Spring Rolls. Delivery service (Beyond Menu) was excellent as food was delivered as soon as it was picked up and was hot & smelled delicious. It was all downhill after that. My friend & I both found long black hairs in the Spring Rolls and Happy Family. I almost threw up. I've never been so disgusted and grossed out over food before. We immediately threw out the food and ended up eating out at another restaurant. I wasn't going to complain to the restaurant and was going to forget about the experience and move on but my friend reminded me that I paid $50 for food I could not eat & had to throw in the garbage. I'm certainly entitled to a full refund & did end up contacting the delivery service & restaurant but am doubtful they will handle this appropriately. Needless to say, I will never order food from this place again nor recommend it to anyone I know. I've attached photos of the "hairs", for what it's worth. Be careful what you order from delivery and check reviews thoroughly.

During the first 30 minutes food came so fast, we were turning multiple servers away. Then when the restaurant got busy, we kept waiting for food. The waitress came by and asked what types of meats we wanted. Those meats never came. We were offered some chicken, pork and lamb, but not the cuts we wanted. Kinda sad that the steak the restaurant is known for, pichana, was offered only once in over one hour. Same with the flank steak. The shrimp skewers never came to us. There was some consistency issues with the meats. I got two of the bacon wrapped filet. Both were tough. While my wife's were good. Some of the sirloin was also tough. I like this restaurant, but I wish I could have a dining experience free of frustration.

I gave three stars but I am still not sure that rating is deserving. So for the good: 1. The individual servers bringing the meat around were very nice and made sure we had plenty. 2. The various forms os steak had great flavor and taste. 3. Food/salad bar was well rounded and included all the right items. It was a nice touch with some over the top items as well Now for the bad: 1. Our waitress seemed to care less about us. No offer on refills for drink. 2. The offer for desert was in the form of passing by. No bringing out the tray and explaining the various types. 3. At one point our waitress disappeared for over 30 minutes. The real bad- 1. In speaking with the manager we received a half hearted apology. 2. We had an offer from Texas de Brazil that was not honored. 3. When talking with the manager she gave some half hearted excuse but let's be honest she could have done more as she was the manager? Overall the food was good but the environment and service was horrible. Not sure I recommend this place as Huntsville has several nicer speciality steak houses.

We were promptly seated and had our drink orders taken (they serve Coke products and alcohol; no Coke Zero sadly). The menu was pretty large but they don't offer a lunch portion on weekends which was unfortunate but fine. The adult meals came with 2 sides and miso soup, kids meals featured one side and miso soup. I ordered Beef Bulgogi with cabbage kimchi and cucumber kimchi, wife ordered Pork Belly with bean sprouts and fish cakes, kids ordered Beef Bulgogi Fried Rice and Chicken Frid Rice both with Japchae noodles. The miso soup was a little disappointing - the soup cup was filled a third of the way up and only had a few slivers of green onion; no tofu or seaweed or anything else. It was the smallest, saddest miso soup I have tried. Sides were brought out before the test of the meal -- save them for when the food comes out, you will need them to cleanse your palate and break up the meat overload. Sides were pretty good. The main course was served and the food looked beautiful! Unfortunately the food was very bland. The pork belly lacked salt (don't ask me how this is possible) though the onions they came with were nice. The beef Bulgogi was pretty bad, had flavor but seemed dry and it was just a pile of meat that got old quickly. Not a lot of complex flavors. My youngest kid's chicken fried rice was bad -- the chicken was extremely dry and lacked flavoring. She loved it; but she also doesnt want to use ketchup or any sort of flavoring on her meat usually so that tells you the flavor profile here. The waitresses we had we both very nice, but they weren't attentive. My glass of water was low and I got no refill - no one at my table was ever asked if they wanted something else to drink. One of my daughters used the rest room and complained that the floor of the women's restroom had a lot of water on it. She siad when she say down on the toilet water squirted out from around thr seal and when she stood up it sucked back in. She specifically asked me to mention it and and she's 11 years old and never complains about bathrooms so that was weird. Food cost $72 after taxes for 2 adult meals, 2 kid meals, 3 drinks and no apps or booze. Not worth it. If you think the food looks good, its post production. I really hate to rank this place so low but the wife and a I both agreed that it's a solid 2 stars and that we wouldn't return here. I enjoyed most of the other korean restaurants around town and have traveled quite a bit internationally and across the US for context; this place was not good. If you do want to try it out, I'd advise eating it family style where everyone shares several dishes. Sorry!
