This place was amazing! The girl at the front was super nice and sweet and she was very helpful. I ordered the Shrimp Mei Fun and I loved it! read more

Mongolian chicken. White rice. Hot and sour soup. Golden china does one thing right. Consistency. Arguably, the most important aspect of take out Chinese food. I haven't changed my order in 2 years and I'm not going to till the day I die. Service is quick. Exactly what you need at takeout. Ambience is lacking, but let's be so for real, if you are going to a takeout spot and eating in the restaurant, something is wrong with you(I lwk be doing this but that's cuz I'm always hungry). At the very least, take it to your car and eat it. read more

Service was nice and quick! Food was still a good temp after our drive home. Taste was fine!

The food was great! I hadn't patronized in a while and it's just as good as I remembered. My friend got the Bourbon chicken, and I got chicken w/ broccoli with fried rice, and crab Rangoon's! Superb. We enjoyed every bit of it and we will be back! The price was not bad either for two meals- Thanks Golden China. read more

I'm here for vacation for a week and stopped by twice. The people are friendly and the food was delicious and at a reasonable price. The place is small so I did not dine in but the food was still hot by the time we got back to the Airbnb. read more

We always called this cheap Chinese. And it was good for the price. But recently, they've downsized their menu and portion size and have not updated their yelp webpage. So ordering online service was not good. We could not communicate. And when we got the food, it wasn't good even for the price read more

I ordered the combination egg foo yong and an order of chicken wings with steak stirfry rice with a chicken eggroll. This was my first time ordering from here and I enjoyed everything... The chicken was tender and moist and crispy on the outside. I love that it was the entire three section wing the whole wing I like that... And the egg roll was delicious as well. I ordered a chicken eggroll and I love that they have chicken eggrolls, instead of only pork. read more

I went there when they first opened on 1/13/26.So u would think the food would be fresh and good?Wrong?I ordered 1 large sesame chicken and it was over cooked and the sauce was like jelly.1 large beef fried rice. The rice was yellow? The rice tasted weird? The beef was over cooked and just a weird meat?I call that type of beef a mystery meat.No onions, vegetables or anything in the fried rice?1 large beef lomein.Once again with the mystery meat/beef?I have never ordered Lomein that was dry.It was spaghetti noodles and dry,not good at all. I ordered 6 spring rolls and they were the size of my pinky finger. They were soggy not crisp like a spring roll should be.They were also spicy?I have never had a vegetable spring roll that was spicy and not good at all.1 large Crab Rangoon.it was over cooked and hard. The wonton they cooked it in was hard and to crunchy. It seems like there is somebody back there cooking that does not know how to cook Chinese food?Very disappointed.1 last thing they charged me $51 for that food and it was bad and way to expensive.I will never go back.Save your time and money do not eat here. read more

This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant. I don't know what happened, but it's terrible now. I ordered shrimp fried rice. It was yellow rice with a few shrimp. It was not fried rice and it had NO taste. My son and my husband's dinners were also terrible. We ended up throwing it all away! And there were no fortune cookies! read more

Love stopping by here for lunch. The food is always hot, and tasty. I love those crab rangoons!

Really great food especially for the price, they give you a TON. Highly recommend the rangoons, they even gave us two extra for free. I got the general tsos tofu and a shrimp egg roll, it was one of the better egg rolls i've had in years and the tofu isn't the best i've had but it's still really good and i'd get it again. My husband got the bourbon chicken and a chicken egg roll, the bourbon chicken is really great and they give you a bunch of veggies but it doesn't have much of a typical bourbon chicken sauce to it, the chicken egg roll was one of our favorites and almost had mild notes of ginger or wasabi. The rangoons are big and triangle shaped which I enjoy and came with a free sauce. Will definitely be back sometime! read more

Food was amazing, you get a pretty good portion for the price. Definitely worth a try if you are craving something delicious, staff was also very friendly. read more

disappointing. Was excited to find a place that makes shrimp egg foo yong. Second of all there was not enough bean sprouts, and too much onion. The sauce for the egg young foo yong tasted like gravy for mashed potatoes. Not good. We ordered. beef and broccoli, and we also ordered Mongolian beef. And the sauce for both tasted the same. I was told the beef and broccoli was supposed to be made with holsin. And the Mongolian beef was supposed to be made with oyster sauce. Both tasted the same. The shrimp eggroll was very greasy small and priced high. I will continue to look for a restaurant that makes good egg foo yong. read more

Good customer service but the food was bland (especially the rice) and didn't taste good at all.

Stopped for lunch at Golden China. From the Luncheon specials menu I ordered the shrimp and garlic sauce with hot and sour soup. I also had an order of fried dumplings. There is a lot to choose from on the lunch menu. The staff was very friendly and my order was ready in less than 5 minutes. Everything was freshly prepared and served hot with just the right amount of spices. The shrimp and garlic sauce was excellent. The soup was nice and hot. The dumplings were great. I would have liked to have had the sauce for the dumplings to be a bit spicier but it was good. Overall a great place for Chinese food. I recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back again. read more

Food was decent. I had the house special egg foo young. Patties were good, didn't care for the gravy too much. Chicken wings and crab Rangoon were great. read more

Our go-to place for Chinese takeout! My family and I have been customers here for many years, and the food quality and friendly staff have never wavered. Delicious food cooked from scratch quickly, big portions, and they have *never* gotten our order wrong or left anything out! We've tried just about everything on the menu, and I can safely recommend it all! read more

Very good food and conscientious location for me I've ordered out and ate inside. Our go to Chinese food.

Fast and has large portions, but it is dreadful to eat. Most ended up in the trash. I don't know how they got any good reviews.

Honestly the BEST Chinese I have had since moving to Alabama!!! I never thought I'd actually find a good Chinese place to eat in Alabama compared to what I am used to in NC. Literally so flavorful, sesame sauce is delicious and the lo mein is great. I love a thick lo mein noodle!! read more

The meal was "okay". The serving size was not enough and the lady overcharged me for my meal. The price of my meal was $7.50 and should have been $8.19 after tax. She charged me $8.42, and I asked why it was higher and she said "inflation". So, the dishonesty in pricing definitely helps them earn only ONE STAR. But to make matters worse, there is a second incidence of lying/false advertising at this restaurant because the menu CLEARLY states that the lunch comes with "Fried Rice" (picture from menu is attached); however, they did not give me "Fried Rice" (second picture of my rice attached). When I asked why mine didn't come with Fried Rice, the lady said, "Yes, it is Fried Rice." Then, when I asked what other ingredients were added to make it Fried Rice, the lady said, "Made with onion". I ate the entire portion of Fried Rice and did not find a single onion. Therefore, I believe that they are only using onion powder when they make the rice, and I I did NOT get Fried Rice. To clarify, this is Merriam-Webster's definition of "Fried Rice": "a dish of boiled or steamed rice that is stir-fried typically with soy sauce, beaten egg, chopped meat, and vegetables My rice did not have any egg, chopped meat or a real vegetable, so I am very disappointed. My local search for a good Chinese restaurant will continue. read more

I was visiting a friend for a week and she loves this place so we tried it, and I had to have it two more times before I left. Best chinese takeout I've had in a long time. I love their egg drop soup, veg lo mein, and fried rice. My friend loves their hot and sour soup and eats it a lot. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in town read more

You know what I love an adore about this hole in the wall? The lady at the front. She literally makes me day every time i walk in and talk to her on the phone. She is hilarious and so caring. I have been coming here for quite some time now, and my favorite dishes all depend on my "diet of the week" lol. I love the Hot and Spicy Chicken, the sauce is a not too sweet, but not too spicy with onions, peppers, celery, and tons of chicken. Served with rice and choice or soup or egg roll on the lunch menu for around 6.05 with tax. The sweet and sour chicken is another favorite. My list can actually go on and on and on with all the dishes I have tried there. The egg drop and hot and sour are great soups, but their wonton strips are light and crispy and add the perfect crunch to your soup. I prefer their white rice vs Fried rice that comes with meals, but that is because I love white rice. The General Tso's is delightful as well. I adore this local place, the customer service is outstanding, and the food is great. Located in the Kroger shopping center. read more

The food is good. They have a great health score. The restaurant is clean. Their prices are fair. I recommend eating here.

Fresh food every single time! The meat is always moist and not over cooked like you see in so many Chinese restaurants . This is one of the very best restaurants I've been to. Their service is amazing too! read more

Food is good but the lady who works the front counter with the black hair cut into a bowl shape is very rude. Also the fried rice is not really fried rice it is yellow rice. Not sure if I'll be back. read more

Best Chinese in Madison!! They always impress and we will be eating there again in the future.

The food is amazing! We had Singapore mai fun, wonton soup, hot and sour soup, chicken and garlic sauce, and honey chicken. Kids were raving and so were the adults. Best Chinese food in Madison. read more

The picture says it all. Ordered Hot &Spicy Beef. Got this, which I promptly put in my trash can upon coming home and opening my dinner. It's onions. I must have ordered the onion special with a little bit of yellow rice and exactly, not kidding, exactly 6 small bite size pieces of beef. Of course I upgraded the rice to fried rice for a buck more. And well darn All I got was some nasty yellow rice. So the 3 ingredients were onion, rice, beef. With some nasty sauce. The portions equated out something like the 75% onion, 20% rice, 5% beef. So just look at the size of the Mapco cup. That should give you some sort of reference. Never again. 12 bucks and got a chance to wait for 15 minutes, drive home, and then throw this garbage away. Shame on these folks. Hope they go out of business with garbage like this. read more

The food was bland and poor attempt at Chinese cuisine. I would not recommend this place. I had the Lo Mein and Honey chicken. Both dishes were hot and that is it. The chicken was soggy and the noodles were over cooked. I also got a egg roll, tasted like grease. The soup was the only item I managed to enjoy. read more

Okay, I've been coming to this place waaay too often, it's silly to not give them an updated review with five stars. All of my previous recommendations are still super yummy, but I'd like to add "Sesame Chicken" and "General Taso's Chicken" to my recommendation list. This place has proven to me that "Not all Americanized Chinese food are create equal." Also, they got two new cashiers. The previous cashier was nice, but the two new girls are so cute, friendly, and helpful. I really enjoy coming to this place. read more

Golden China Restaurant - #40A. Oh so yummy. - Chinese Near Me - Madison, Alabama

I used to like the food I've taken out from here before they were closed down because of the demolition of the original mall which used to be here. I was happy to see them return when a new mall was built in the exact same location with a different grocery store. I have tried them several times since their reopening, but so far, I have not been impressed. Maybe they will get better, so I'll give them another try before completely giving up on them because they used to be good. I like lomein and I tend to order lomein from this restaurant. The last time I got lomein from them, it was awful and extremely bland. I don't know how they can mess this simple dish up. I'm only writing this review now in the hopes the restaurant reads this and improves, because if any other food I order from them come across as being this mediocre, I'll go looking for a different Chinese takeout somewhere else. read more

I Had the orange chicken plus an order of the fried potstickers. The orange chicken and rice were very good. The fried potstickers were some of the tastiest I have ever had. YUMMY! There seem to be two types of potstickers in little Chinese restaurants: some with extremely thick and chewy skins, which I do not like at all. I really prefer the thin wonton skins. That's what they have here. And they were as wonderfully tasty as I could ever ask for. read more

Great Chinese food and huge portions at a really good price. Super friendly staff. I've since moved from Madison and still drive over to get Chinese from here! Generals tsos is my favorite, reminds me of my favorite before I moved to Alabama that is more "New York style" Chinese food. read more

Golden China is an excellent source for good old American-Chinese take out. So far I've had their fried rice, General Tso's, Chicken Mei Fun, and vegetable egg roll. The Tso's was cooked just right, crunchy with the right amount of breading and sauce that wasn't too sweet. The fried rice was great, flavorful and not very greasy. I wouldn't recommend the Mei Fun as the noodles are a bit thick and can be a little rubbery, the egg roll was a bit thick crusted for my tastes, but that's a matter of preference. Overall, I will definitely be ordering from here again! read more

I was an avid fan of this place before they closed and re-opened. Since they've re-opened I've had to wait 90 minutes for my food. Outside of the lack of correctness of my order, the quality has seemed to dip as well. I know that most take out places don't have high quality meat choices but sometimes their chicken just tastes rancid and undercooked. Over three orders I didn't get a part of the order. It's the same management so I have no idea what the lackluster service is about. It's a shame because being someone who has worked in a restaurant, I understand there will be orders that go out incorrectly, but this is annoying. Won't be going back. read more
