Best Chinese buffet I have ever been in. Huge selection of dishes/food. Plan to visit often.

It's time to write an update for this restaurant and the take out food that we buy. This is the second time (out of the last two purchases, about six months apart) that our order has been filled incorrectly. So I'm taking off one star just for the disappointment that happens when you get home with something other than you are expecting. Last time our hot & sour soup order was "Happy Family Soup" which my husband couldn't eat at all because of the assortment of meats and fish. This time our order of Pork Lo Mein was filled with Pork Mei Fun. The rice noodles had ZERO SAUCE OR FLAVOR. if I'm intending on ordering Mei Fun I always order Singapore Mei Fun with the delicious curry seasoning. The second star is removed because the Hot & Sour soup was beyond HOT! I really like spicey food as does my husband but this soup deadened my taste buds towards food eaten at a separate meal on a separate day. It was SO HOT that the broth of the soup was an orangey red. Every spoonful had at least three or four visible chunks of red pepper. The bottom of the bowl was a collection of ground black pepper, white pepper, and chunks of red pepper skins. The first night we ate the soup it was HOT but tolerable because it was something we hadn't eaten for a while. The second night neither one of us wanted to finish the bowl because it was just TOO HOT! The third star taken off is for the quality of meat used in the General Tso's Chicken and the Mongolian Beef. The chicken was large, hard, stringy pieces of chicken that you could neither cut with a steak knife or chew. The sauce was obviously made by their cook that likes heat. It was orange not brown because of the number of red peppers. The whole large order only had two pieces total of broccoli. As for the Mongolian Beef it was thick chewy chunks of beef like what should have been used as stew meat so it would become tender. Once again it was unchewable and not worth struggling with a sharp knife. There was little sauce or onions with the Mongolian beef so it was a bust! My husband would like me to take off a fourth star because what we planned would be a third night of dinners is going in the garbage. We are dumping one quart of hot & sour soup, 2/3 an order of Mongolian Beef, 2/3 of an order of General Tso's Chicken, 2/3 of the Mei Fun that we had hoped would be our Pork Lo Mein, and three small containers of rice. WHAT A WASTE! That's money down the drain. I on the other hand am giving the star because the Egg Foo Yung on the first night was delicious. I'm being generous giving this restaurant two stars because we maybe didn't like the food but at least we didn't get sick like some reviewers have written in their reviews. When in the mood for Chinese food we enjoy eating here and highly recommend! We love the variety and everything they offer is always good and fresh. This place is well run and the staff is always pleasant and super nice. The atmosphere is good and the restaurant always looks clean and neat. The price isn't too bad either! If you want to take it home as we often do, you can go in and fix a tray of whatever suits you and they weigh it (pay by the pound). As I know what we like and by sticking to our favorites, we save money and get a little of everything we enjoy. Better than most of the buffets I have tried. Since we were by ourselves for Christmas Day, Hubby and I decided to treat ourselves to Chinese food. However when we arrived the place was packed and 95+% of the arrivals were unmasked! Given the current surge in the Omicron variant we decided to get carry out. All of the staff were masked, but the risk is just too high for us to eat there surrounded by people who apparently do not believe in taking precautions. One star only because I can't do a zero. For way over 16+ years the has been my family's favorite restaurant. We have faithfully met there for every special event and kids birthday. We always loved feeding the fish. Unfortunately we will not be going back. For the second time in less than two months it was absolutely awful. Every single thing was either burnt so bad or hard that we couldn't chew it or it was completely flavorless and cold. Even the Wonton soup was mush. It wasn't just one or two dishes different, it seemed it was everything but the fruit. It breaks my heart. No matter the switch in owners or management over the years it was always still able to satisfy everyone, affordable and delicious. When it was less than 1/5 full in the rooms when we got there it did get a little busier but it was evident no one was truly happy with what they ate. And don't get me started on the restroom. While they told me today there was not a new owner it must be completely different management or something because it was singularly the worst restaurant experience any of us have ever had. read more

After going shopping we decided to eat at China buffet. What a big mistake we go there and the food is really overpriced it's a nice buffet but the cleanliness of it in general is awful. We ordered water and he found a fortune paper in his water while he continued to drink it. How hard is it to clean your cups. First off when you're pouring the water into the cup how do you not notice a fortune paper in the cup or did you notice and just continue to give us the dirty cup. read more

Eat here at your own risk. Been in the bathroom most of today after eating there last night. It's the worst food poisoning I've had.

I purchased several items yesterday to go. They left an item out of my order ok things happen no big deal. Sent someone after it. Let me say 1st off we all love chinese food with that being said that was the nasty food I ever tried to eat!! It was totally disgusting!! Wecouldnt even eat it it was so bad so there went over $100 straight in the trash. I will never buy from them again! I'd rather drive the 45 minutes to Louisville to Red Sun and get good food. We get takeout from here once a month and it's always hot, tasty, and our order correct. (We order off the menu- we don't eat off of the buffet.) The owners are wonderful and this place is always packed. read more

Well if you come for lunch between 11:30 and 1:30 you're good to go with some decent food if you dare to come after 1:30 you will be stuck with the cold leftovers from lunch. And they will not make no food . Or pretend like they don't understand English. I mean everything fried is cold . Not lukewarm straight up cold . Even the noodles and rice are cold it's horrible . I stopped at this place on an impulse while in a training in Frankfort. It's your basic, run-of-the-mill, Chinese buffet. There's nothing particular special about it, but it served the purpose. A lot of the meat dishes are smothered in sweet sauce and the texture of them is questionable. That wasn't exactly appetizing, but admittedly I have a weird thing about meat texture. The lo mein and fried rice were good. They had several options for kids that aren't interested in Chinese food - chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, pizza, and many others. This place has plenty of food options to choose from. The food is always hot and fresh. Service is okay. They get you in and seated quick but once they bring you your drinks they hardly come back around for refills. There is also plenty of seating for larger groups of people. read more

My mom and stepdad recently moved here so we thought we'd take a chance and try the new Chinese buffet in their new town, this place was one of the best Chinese buffets I've ever eaten at. The selection and variety of their food was enormous they had a few American selections for those who don't like Chinese, but they had an wide variety of soups, sushi, common Chinese dishes, desserts, and a hibachi station! The servers and staff were very nice they kept our drinks filled and are dirty plates cleared from the table. Price was nice as well, two of us ate for lunch with hot tea, water and buffet for $15! Will definitely return anytime I'm been visiting my mom and stepdad! read more

This has to be one of the better Chinese buffets in Kentucky. The food they cook on the grill looks clean and good prior to cooking it. It tastes amazing after they cook it up. Everything on the buffet is really good also. I think it is really inexpensive. My 9 year old daughter's meal was 2.99. It is worth the hour plus drive from my house to eat. terrible service, rude. while me and my fiancé were trying to finish our meals they set a check down pestering us to pay asap and watching every move we made, as i got up after they took my card I went to get dessert and they came to the table and grabbed everything as I was about to sit back down rushing me to get out when there was plenty of seating at the place. Just the resteraunt not long ago. The food was good i must say, but the service was poor. I had water to drink with my meal and waitress never came to check on refills. When I received my bill and gave them card to pay i was automatically charged 15% for gratuity without consent. I won't be back there for quiet a while if I do return. Don't eat here, it's as simple as that. First of all, if you have a craving for Chinese food go to China Wok, you'll be glad you did. The food is not fresh, obviously, it sits under heat lamps in the open all day and night. Do you think no one there has coughed or sneezed on that food? Been sick and touched the serving spoon before you did? And yellow rice with peas and carrots in it is not fried rice, what's the deal with that? This used to be my favorite Chinese place until recently. I'm not sure what has happened. The staff have been very rude lately. The last two times I have been here the food has been disgusting. I tried the "Japanese chicken" today and it tasted and smelled awful! Like a dead rat. The ice cream was also very freezer burnt. I was afraid to try any other meat because I am not a fan of food poisoning. I do not recommend this place. They have a lot of food options but it's not sanitary at all. You get what you pay for. After reading previous reviews I tried this place. I like the food but I will not return. Upon entering the entrance glass doors the glass is all smudge not just the doors almost grimy looking. The floors were stained, it just gave me the heebies. The final straw breaker was when the waitresses dumped buckets of green beans on the tables in the dining room to snap. I was like wtheck? IMHO, This is the Best Asian buffet in Central KY! Inconspicuously located in a small strip mall off the highway, this restaurant is large and spacious, kept very clean, the decor is lovely, and they have the best prices I've seen for buffet. It's a little bit of a drive for me, so I don't come here as often as I'd like (that's good for my waistline) but when I do, the food is always fresh. They have your typical larg-ish selection of Asian buffet items, so variety won't disappoint. If you're in the area and have a hankering for a wide variety of Asian food, I definitely recommend coming here! read more

Very nice food for a Chinese buffet. I am originally from San Diego, so I'm used to good Asian food, but expensive. This is almost as good, but cheap. Way better than the Asian buffet in Shelbyville. Give it a try you'll like it. For Kentucky it's about the best you'll find. read more

I tried this for lunch one day while in town for a week long training. I was enticed by the affordable price... I should have known better. While nothing was flat out gross, most of the dishes lacked ANY flavor, and I tasted many of the dishes they had to offer. Lo mein, fried rice, even General Tso's... nothing. Completely bland. The sushi was not great either. They had a very wide selection, and I did not try the Mongolian Grill they had in the back, but I was very unimpressed by the food overall. I've been eating here since I've been a kid (at the old and new one). They always have fresh food, when something is starting to empty they instantly go fix some more. They also serve classic American foods like pizza and Mac and cheese. They have a small salad bar, plenty of desserts and fruit. The bathrooms are never dirty, hell, the whole buffet if never dirty. Service was very rude. They slammed our drinks down on the table. They only filled the cups half way up. They had signs hanging up that said to eat all the food you get so there's no waste. Last but not least there was hair not on top of the general tso chicken but was clearly mixed in with it. read more
