Great family owned Chinese buffet. Less offerings than the BIG Chinese buffets but the food is kept fresh and hot! Better quality food than must any Chinese buffets within 50 miles at least. Very good service! Only suggestion, offer a senior discount. read more

Wow, stopped in at 2:30 and expected to deal with cold food. They do a great job of keeping the buffet clean and hot. The offering were very good. I ended up sitting long enough for a change of food on the buffet.. I don't think it was lunch to dinner but just a variety of what was made. Everything was very fresh and filling of flavor. I felt like I was in a Chinese home with Mom cooking. I will definitely be back for this experience. If you do buffets, this is a must stop read more

Looked up business and they had general tso on menu...arrived...not on buffet. Asked to just do a separate order a d was told I could only eat from buffet.. service was nice and place was clean. read more

I really appreciated the way the owners cared for their customers. They seemed to know so many by name. We traveled here to see the Ark Encounter and stopped for some food and really enjoyed their buffet. The food was fresh and always managed. They had a full house of happy customers who all were enjoying the food so much they were pointing out the house specialties to the new customers. Well done! read more

Food was super good. Nice and hot, even though it's a buffet. Staff wasn't the most pleasant but the place was clean and good.

Clean, hot buffet bar was great and you can even get the buffet to go. I have been to many buffets in NKY. Wouldn't go back because of sanitary reasons. Never disappointed at Happy Dragon! read more

Not only is the food fresh and delicious, the service is amazing! We've been eating there for more than 25 years and will continue to do so! We've love Happy Dragon and the owners! read more

Friendly staff. Three separate stations of food. Desserts, hot foods fried foods and soup. Salmon was great and chicken dishes. Very fresh and a local spot definitely the owners knew a lot of the people coming in. Very personable. read more

Large portions and reasonable prices make this our favorite local place to grab Chinese food, usually to go.

We were in town for the Ark Encounter in this place for a pleasant surprise! It is a smaller Chinese buffet, but the food was good quality and the service was quick and attentive. We went for lunch and it was pretty busy while still having no wait. The decor fit the ambiance and it was clean! read more

Location was a little bit hard to get to especially the front door was at the back/side instead of the front. Old tables and chairs so the restaurant is outdated. Food was great but limited selection (about 25) for a buffet. Sitting was crowded due to small space. read more

One of the best buffets in the area. We have been going here for many MANY years. My daughter is 24 and I remember the owners giving me a gift when I was preg with her cause we came in so often lol read more

Buffet was good, service was also very attentive. Definitely good Chinese Buffet for the $$.

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Non smoking Service was excellent Clean and well organized bar read more

Decent American Chinese buffet, close to Ark Encounter. Especially loved their bourbon chicken (like elevated teriyaki chicken), BBQ chicken skewers (like Chinese BBQ pork seasoning), general tso chicken (more spicy than usual), Chinese donuts, and their ice cream (4 flavors including butter pecan)! Their broccoli beef is a little spicy. read more

I've been to my fair share of Chinese buffets through the years, and this was one of the worst. The restaurant is dated and the options on the buffet were super limited. There was nothing there that stood out as really good. The chicken was awful on all dishes I tried. The hour and sour soup tasted like straight vinegar. I guess the good news is I didn't get sick from it, but won't be headed back anytime soon. read more

They don't offer sushi but there food is okay price for buffet could be cheaper it's convenient if ur wanting Chinese in dry ridge

After visiting the Ark encounter, we were looking for a place place for dinner. Happy Dragon is less than 10 minutes from the ark. The Chinese buffet choices were excellent. The catfish was very tender as were the chicken and meat dishes. A favorite was the Stir-fried green beans - SO delicious! There are selections of fruits and desserts, including self-serve ice cream! I also enjoyed the hot and sour soup, wonton soup, noodles and fried rice. Happy Dragon is a small restaurant with basic decor. The Servers and hostess are welcoming, and provide good service. All of this for under $15 per person! I recommend Happy Dragon and if I'm in the area in the future, I would definitely visit again. read more

We were looking for a place to eat for the night and we found Happy Dragon on our recommendations. One of us doubted this place, so we came and found that it had great service and amazing food. It is a very clean and nice restaurant. I highly recommend it! read more

Local Chinese place. Good food even has a buffet They have a drive thru window. Fast service every time I've been. read more

We're from San Francisco Bay Area (home to lots of Chinese and Asian restaurants) and were delighted with Happy Dragon. Everything we tried was fresh and tasty! The self-serve desserts ranged from fruit and cookies to several flavors of ice cream. The constant flow of locals coming for take-out confirmed that they're valued by the community. We didn't see any chopsticks, which we would have used. HIGHLY recommend a visit! read more

We were looking for a bite to eat and ended up here. The food was fresh and tasty. Our waitress was very nice and kept up with us in a timely manner. It is a nice cozy spot. read more

My favorite place to go live around the area and the staff is very nice they ask me how I am every time I go would recommend the food in my opinion is amazing for the price. I love the chairs, music, and paintings. They even have ice cream they got it all I would Recommend if your going to go to the ark. read more

Extra star for staff friendliness. I have been here three times and it's fine. The wontons and skewers as well as the bourbon chicken are my favorite. I haven't tried the seafood (because it is always gone) so I imagine it's good. The desserts have plenty of variety. The mini Bundt cakes are my favorite. Though I am not partial to the "self-serve" scooped ice cream. The scoops are put back into room temperature water and anyone can reach into the freezer without gloves/sneeze guard. Aside from that, I enjoy eating here on a casual day. read more

Great price really good food very friendly staff. we spent the beginning of the day at the ark and where looking for family friendly food stumble a crossed this place it was very good read more

We were just passing through and wanted lunch, but not typical fast food. We decided to try their buffet. There was a good variety on the buffet. However, what we tried wasn't much to our liking. I have a theory that people get used to a certain Chinese restaurant, and they'll never be totally satisfied with food from others. This just didn't taste like the flavors I've grown to crave at my hometown Chinese restaurant. The place was clean enough but certainly not fancy. In an effort to be vigilant about removing dirty plates from the table and providing refills, the waitress hovered by our table apart the entire meal, which made me sort of self-conscious. Overall, we weren't hungry anymore, and it wasn't gross, but we won't go back. read more

I pass by this location on a regular basis and have always wanted to try it. On 08/11/22 I had that opportunity. First thoughts; it's a little shady. The exterior accounts for this. The food was acceptable however it is not anything to rave about. Some of the items had flavor and some did not. For the price we paid, $29.65 for two people, we expected quite a bit more. Would I recommend this to a friend? Probably not. Would I eat this again? I would probably would go elsewhere. read more

Pretty bland and chicken was nasty tasting with a lot of fat. We ordered take out with 25 min wait for pick up. I think the food was taken off buffet and was cold. Bad experience. read more

Happy Dragon is seriously the best around. Always fresh food, the bourbon chicken is amazing as well as the orange chicken the potatoes are to die for and their egg rolls are seriously chefs kiss. I highly recommend this place! Family owned and operated. Extremely friendly people! read more

I am so confused by the good reviews... but I guess you don't know if it's the place for you unless you try jt! The food tasted so stale to the point I needed to spit out quite a few things if it tasted bad enough. I was sad there was no orange chicken. The lo mein is usually one of my favorites but I couldn't eat this one- it tasted so old despite just coming out of the kitchen. The cheesy seafood was alright. Egg drop soup was really good other than the eggshell that I had to spit out. I probably mostly ate the rangoons and some were a bit tough to bite around the edges, but the fresh ones were really yummy. My husband was really suspicious of the chicken on a stick... it was bright red but totally tasteless. There was a pan of water with shrimp that had black spots all over them (NOT the veins) and not even on ice- just water, maybe the ice melted and they never changed it out- and next to fruit and jello that also tasted weird. The ice cream scoops sat in lukewarm dirty water bins and my toddler spat out ice cream with maybe a rancid pecan and constantly wiped off her tongue- a toddler spitting out ice cream?! You know it must be bad... Service was not the best. The waitress was helpful but did not seem very enthusiastic. We had to keep piling up dirty dishes and I shared half my water with my son because his was never refilled. The music and A/C didn't seem to be on in the back where we were seated (?) which made dining a bit uncomfortable. The building really needs some repair, there was black spots on the ceiling and furniture holding supplies looked like it was falling apart. Our fortune cookies were fun! And I don't think any of us got food poisoning, so that's a huge plus for a Chinese buffet. I felt regretful spending about $50 here for our family of 5, but they do seem to be trying and they need the funds/business to help better their establishment. This is just really not the place for us. read more

Being nearby, Beau and I, decided to take a gamble, and give this place a try. After all, how can one pass up Chinese food?! This ethnic spot, situated in a small country town, just seemed to beckon! The clean, cosy interior, filled with friendly staff, and good food, made this: A Great Find ! The brick building, hung with panda pictures, boasts of a buffet, filled with hot, fresh and flavorful food. The interior, seemed spotless, accented with Asian decor, which gave the vibes, of being in a vintage Chinese restaurant. The food though, is consistent with the modern fare, standardly served at Chinese buffets, ranging from: Crab Rangoon; Egg Rolls and Various Appetizers; Crab Casserole; Beef, Pork, Shrimp, and Chicken Stir Fries; Fried Rice and Noodles; a Soup Station; and a Dessert Station, offering Ice Cream and Fruit... After a long day of driving, dinner was fun, filled with familiar but exotic fare. Our waitress, so attentive to our needs, kept our table clean, refilled drinks, and even offered a cup, to take home, the remains of my pot of tea! Thus, we were made, Happy Dragons, Indeed !!! read more

I have been going to this place for years now. I don't go as often as I would like to but always enjoy it when I do. They have an excellent buffet with great food, friendly atmosphere and good service. Or sometimes, we'll order takeout and pickup at the drive through window. Usually, we'll get enough to have a meal and have enough leftovers to snack on later. I don't know what it is about Chinese cuisine, but,it seems that one can eat their fill and be hungry again an hour later lol. Great place, I would recommend it. read more

There General Tsu chicken extremely hot. Bit overpriced. Good cleanup service. Other dishes pretty good

We are local. Eat here often. Buffet options are great. The servers are prompt and friendly. I would've gave 5 stars but the bathrooms are disgusting. They need an absolute makeover. The prices are reasonable for an all-you-can eat buffet. UPDATE: Bathrooms have been remodeled. Food is still great. All is well. read more
