Having grown up south of San Francisco the City had some incredible Chinese food. From hole-in-the-wall to some that rival Hong Kong. China Bistro seems to have their own version of it. I am really hoping that with was just a really off night for them. Unfortunately, it is lacking in may ways. From taste to content to quantity. Hot and Sour soup was watery and lacked taste. Won Ton soup lacked taste and a large bowl only had 4 won tons in it. Sweet and Sour Pork had really, really small pieces of pork and seemed to have more batter than pork. Beef and broccoli was watery and lacked that rich sauce and taste. I can understand the good reviews if people have not had decent Chinese food. To be fair I will try them again sometime in the future but for now it is barely two stars. read more

We've been into Chinese food since end of last year and we finally noticed this place when we went to McDonald's in boulder. The service was good. Very attentive and friendly servers. I forgot the name of our server, he said he's leaving in august for college. Congratulations! Anyway, nothing wrong on food. Just surprised for a chinese restaurant the serving was a little less. I've noticed in a lot of Chinese restaurants servings are always good for 2-3. But it's still good amount. No complain. The ambience is very chinese. Even the music they have. So cool! read more

I have been a customer for about a year, the food has always been outstanding. However I had dinner Saturday and noticed new employees, My first thoughts were that the owner sold the place. I wasn't going to review this restaurant because I hate giving one star reviews. I looked again and the reviews are very strange. Read some of the one star reviews and count me in. This was the worst chinese food I've had in 50 years plus of life. The general tsao chicken wouldn't be good enough to sell frozen at costco. Fried rice was the most bland example imaginable. I don't know how the other 5 star reviews are possible, the only thing I can think is that they got something else. read more

Nothing fancy outside with faded signs. Small restaurant with adequate parking. Looks like a convenient location for locals and for those on the way to Hoover Dam, but miles for me from west Henderson. Inside, the food was good and the service fast and friendly. We ordered the lunch specials such as Chicken and Broccoli and a seafood dish with rice. Not much more to say. Based on food and service: 5 stars, ambiance 3 stars. read more

Fantastic Chinese restaurant in Boulder City! I usually get the Orange Chicken as I absolutely love their Orange Chicken! My wife orders all over the menu and loves whatever she orders. This place serves up some great authentic Chinese food! The entire staff is super friendly and it was also great to meet the chef! She came out and was so nice and her food is great! Potstickers - Nice and crisp on the outside, the dipping sauce is delicious! Comes with six pieces and is a great appetizer. Chicken Egg Foo Young - Comes with two large patties, cooked beautifully with a tasty gravy. Uniquely, this place also offers a beef egg foo young which I might try next time. The chef did let us know that all egg foo young dishes come with the same gravy. It's delicious! String Beans - So delicious! I loved the garlic flavored sauce, beans were cooked with a nice crispness. Pepper Beef - The beef was super tender and surrounded by fresh crisp peppers and onions. I really liked this sauce! Just got done having lunch at the China bistro. A couple that we met about three weeks ago at another restaurant told us about this place. I had them Mongolian beef fried rice, egg drop soup and the crab Rangoon. My wife had the snow peas with beef, steamed rice and we had a couple of drinks we definitely will be coming back here again. The food was great. The service was great and the price was just right. From the outside very deceiving inside very clean and courteous staff. I recommend if you're out in this area try it. read more

I ordered the Singapore noodles with shrimp. The nice lady on the phone was very helpful and patient with my questions. (It was my first time ordering from here). I was pleasantly surprised to see my order. Upon tasing it, it was hot, fresh, the exact noodles I like, and the shrimp was plentiful and cooked to perfection. The only thing is I wish they would have an actual Singapore chow mei fun on their menu - that has pork, chicken, and shrimp in it along with some green onions and carrots. It also has a little spice to it. But- this dish was delicious and I would recommend. I will be back! read more

My husband & I have lived in Henderson for over seven years, but we found this wonderful gem last November! The China Bistro, in a small strip mall in Nevada, found this wonderful gem on Nevada Highway in Boulder City, has one of the best Chinese and Thai, dishes in the area! I ordered a mouth-watering shrimp and lobster sauce on the Family menu while my husband ordered Mongolian beef. The appetizers included egg rolls, egg drop soup, and a crab rangoon! Their sauces are homemade! We not only loved our dishes, but the cheerful and welcoming atmosphere at this restaurant! China Bistro is at the top of our list for oriental food! read more

I am pretty sure I was overcharged, mostly due to lack of understanding. Do not order sweet and sour it is not crispy at all and the sauce is watery. The lettuce wraps are ok not great. I paid a lot for what I got. Best thing is the chow mein which was fresh and flavorful. Can't really recommend, but not awful. read more

We were taking a drive around Lake Mead and started to get hungry for lunch. We did a search of restaurants in the Boulder City area and found China Bistro, and they had great reviews. It was a short drive and waited for them to open, which was in about 15 minutes (they open at 12 on Saturdays). As we were waiting, we got impatient, and started to look for another nearby place to eat. I then just happened to look in my mirror, and saw the OPEN sign was now turned on. We went to check and found that they opened early because we were waiting outside! Very impressed! We ordered several items, a Seaford Hot Pot, which is not a traditional hot pot, but seafood and vegetables served in a clay pot. Also ordered Beef Chow Fun, and Chicken Mapo Tofu. All of the dishes are made fresh and served piping hot, and all was delicious! The service here is great, and the servers here are absolutely the best! They are done of the nicest I've ever met, super friendly and personable! Keep up the great work and positive attitude ladies! read more

I am Asian American and live in Boulder City, but I also live in San Francisco. I've eaten at many Asian American restaurants in Nevada, but more of them in San Francisco. (I've eaten at Chinese and Thai restaurants for over 40 years.) My friends in San Francisco are surprised when I tell them that China Bistro is the best Asian restaurant I've ever eaten at: The Best! The owner is very friendly and has personally asked me many times what I think of her dishes. She goes to the trouble to find the best ingredients she can find, many of the vegetables are grown in locally. She won't put a dish on the menu if she can't make it to a high standard. For example, my favorite dish, basil chicken, is not on the menu because the owner cannot find freshly grown basil that meets her standards. She makes a dish that is mint chicken, instead. It's worth a try when you come to Boulder City. read more

Food was bland. "Vegetables" in Pad See Ew were red and green peppers, nothing else. Noisy and loud wait staff. Loud surfaces and holiday music created noise platform. Dishes thrown into bins when clearing tables. Metal cart that clanked over every tile seam used for both dishes and food service. Really poor, unfortunately, hoped it would be much better. Very welcoming and actually not so small restaurant in Boulder City. Waitresses were very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. We had the summer rolls and potstickers as appetizers - should have been warned that the mustard/wasabi sauce was extremely potent, rattled your sinuses and brain. The entrées for us were Ma Po Tofu, House fried rice and Pad Se Yew - very tasty. Portions are generous, as with most if not all Chinese restaurants. Prices are very reasonable, the price range being between $ 10 - 20 for the entrées. From what I observed, the restaurant also seems to be embedded in the community, has the vibe of a neighborhood establishment. Certainly recommended. read more

Service was good but, I'm from the east coast where we can get a quart of fried chicken rice . I ordered the two for special. The chicken fried rice was all peppers, a little chicken, most peppers and onions. Would not recommend, if you are looking fora filling meal. Maybe should give it a second try????? read more

Growing up in southern California surrounded by all kinds of Asian restaurants, I approached China Bistro not knowing what to expect. I was always curious about those random Chinese eateries I'd see in areas where there was decidedly not a prominent Chinese community. (Especially the businesses that were simply named things like "Chinese Food.") Despite the name China Bistro, they had dishes from various cuisines. We dined in and ordered the Thai lettuce wraps appetizer, pad thai with chicken, and Singapore noodles with beef. The lettuce wraps were okay. The filling was a bit dry and I believe it was supposed to come with peanut sauce which would have helped it out. The pad thai was great! Definitely a fusion version though that reminded me more of chow fun rather than the classic Thai dish. It was topped generously with fried minced garlic which I absolutely loved. The Singapore noodles were also good. The total was about $40 including tip, and the two of us were able to finish everything easily. Overall, it was a good meal and in such a small place like Boulder City, I can definitely see how it could be a GREAT meal here. Everyone else there seemed to be a local regular who knew the staff well. In fact, the staff members here were some of the friendliest I've encountered. We were checked on constantly during the meal, and they knew instantly that we were from out of town haha and wanted to get to know us a bit. There was a constant stream of takeout orders too, so definitely a popular place. I would definitely go back if I was passing through the area again, but overall the service was much more memorable than the food. read more

We have been coming here for several years, but since we moved to Henderson, we haven't been able to visit as often. We have always enjoyed it, but last night's meal hit it out of the park. We started with potstickers, which were nice and crispy along the edges and served with a sweet chili sauce. The Thai Basil chicken was fresh with vegetables and almost minty Thai basil. I couldn't stop thinking of that flavor. My dinner companion had one of his favorites, General Tso's Chicken, which was also very good. The real rockstar was the green beans with garlic that we shared, I could not stop eating them! We love that they have Tsingtao, which goes perfectly with the food, and they have other good drink selections. Ate the Mongolian Beef and shocked at the amount of onions as opposed to the beef. I had to hunt for the beef, it had a "spicy" star next to it but ie anything but spicy. I love this place but they need to kick up the spice! read more
