Absolutely love this place! Consistently good quality- have ordered many times and have never been disappointed. Special requests (no carrots, etc.) are always honored and correct (you'd be surprised how many places ignore this stuff). Portion sizes are generous and they don't just stuff entrees with veggies and skimp on the protein. Additionally, we had them cater an event and the quality was great. I highly recommend them for this sort of thing. Definitely try the crab Rangoon, general Tso, and kung pao chicken. Dumplings are a bit thick and doughy for my liking, but my staff love them that way. read more

Great for take out especially with their lunch special deals. Way better than any fast food combo meals for the price. Order early because they do get busy with take out orders during lunch. Don't dine in expecting great service. They're a small family run business so they do have their kids there especially during summer. They help out and not in your face so get off their backs about having kids there! This place is terrible. I truly believe they should be on "Dirty Dining." It's THAT bad. The food? Awful. I ordered the Cashew Chicken and what I got was a little chicken and cashews with a ton of chopped celery. They use celery as a filler because it's cheap. The restaurant itself? Even worse than the food. It's just a crummy little place in a strip mall. They have a walk-up counter and a few tables. Not to mention their kids are there. They actually have a crib set up next the the counter. China 1 has been in business for several years... how are they doing it? read more

Take out Chinese Food are a dime a dozen nowadays, but China I is one of the good one. Service is so-so, but the food is great. Love their fried dumplings and egg rolls, they're possibly some of the best here in Milwaukee. read more

you know, i dunno what all these people are smoking. i LOVE the food here.. they work so hard, they even have their kids working the register, ha. look. it's the ONLY place around that delivers to woodlake. and if you live in one of the subdivisions around here, why on earth would you be whining about havig to eat there? I used to live on the east side. when i went to chopstix, which has ONE table, i never bitched about the one table because if i was eating there, it wasn't because i really wanted to anyway. it's a table and a chair for reasonably price- and tasty- chinese food, quit whining. if you pick it up, it's steaming frakkin' hot too.. and that's key, so we'll proceed like you've just picked up your food and are within five minutes of the place. the egg rolls are crispy, HOT, and they taste great. they never make me sick(which i can name on more than one hand, the chinese dives that have with their greasy ass egg rolls), and they're pretty big! Cashew Chicken- great. put yer rice in there, some soy sauce, and hot mustard, you got some amazing eats. orange chicken/beef- frakkin good. not runny at all. crab rangoon- not too bad, and they give you a lot. beef and brocolli- really good.. usually when i have it, it's too bland, but china 1 makes their stuff pretty good.. all in all, i've lived here for four months, and i've ordered it at least twice a month. is it gourmet? nah, but you didn't want that in the first place. if the restaurant area clean? nope, but you're eating at home anyway. bottom line, they speak good english, they've never messed up my order, and i happen to like the food... compared to chopstix or panda express you could do a lot worse. read more

The only place that delivers Chinese food to our subidvision in Glendale and I have to say that it was the WORST food I have EVER eaten!! I ate a pork egg roll and took two bites of a shrimp egg foo young, and was VIOLENTLY sick!! I had asked my husband to ask for NO MSG!! They apparently took that as a meger suggestion. We order from them every Friday at my office, and you can't beat the price for the amount of food you get. I normally get 2 lunches for the price of 1 with them, since their portions are so generous. I have never eaten on site, but I have coworkers who have, and they had no problems with it. Once in a while they switch up orders, or forget a soup or egg roll or something, but they are really good about bringing us whatever they forget. I would give it a 5 star, but there is this one Chinese lady who takes my order once in a while that is a complete bitch!! If it wasn't for her, I would give it a 5 star!! This is NOT a child care center! I went there awhile back, and this place is was a joke!!!!. It was super dirty. Chairs misplaced everywhere! All tables dirty! Food all over the ground! A waitress and a cook that don't tie their hair! 10 kids running loose all over the place! Color pencils, crayons, papers, food, trash, and papers everywhere. This was my first time, and last time ordering from China I. I work for a medical group and once a week we order take out today we all had an appetite for Chinese. I ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young which tasted like CIGARETTES, another co-worker ordered the fried chicken which we swear was probably a deep fried rat. The gravy for the egg foo young was BURNT. Never again. I paid $5.49 for my meal and I guess it goes to show you get what you paid for. read more

We order take out from China 1 at least several times a month. I am VERY fussy about cleanliness and the quality of the food. I can honestly say that their food is quite good and I have never picked an order up and thought the restaurant was dirty. We have eaten Chinese food all over the USA and China 1 has good food. Asian food is a favorite of friends and family so when we have unexpected guests, we usually order from China 1. Everyone seems to like the food a lot. read more

Wow.. contrary to the other reviews I enjoy their food! I am a vegetarian, and they have a wonderful selection of dishes. The staff is friendly and they do have their children there but they are cute and well behaved. The place doesn't look like much, that's for sure but I get take out a couple of times per month so it doesn't bother me. read more

Noticing the "slowness" of this place, my sister and I decided to go support them and be their only customers. Right when we walked in, I can already see why no one comes here! The only decoration they had in there was just only a few picture frames. As soon as we entered, the cashiers' or waiters' physical appearances told us everything already. They both had messy untied hair, and they lack customer service! They do not give out free water! They had their five or six kids running around, sitting on all the dining tables, misplacing all the dining chairs, and trashing papers and garbage everywhere. We saw food on every table and all over the floor. Even though the food is okay, I would not come back, for I truly admire the dirtiness and the lack of customer service here. The dining area is just dirty and uncomfortable, so I know that the kitchen is just going to be worst! I give this place a ONE star. read more
