Breaking down by service & food alone because it matters: Service: We tried to order over the phone and they left us hanging til we got there (drove from Scholls/121st area to location with phone still connected). We drove over to see and had some other places in mind as back up. Crowded, a bunch of tickets on the counter, had to wait ~15mins til we were able to order. They didn't give is a quote time so we waited in the car some, did some grocery shopping at Trader Joe's, came back to sit and wait. They gave us our rice and then said a little longer for our chicken. Then they had a forgotten to go order of 20 extra hot wings they gave us for free which was nice. Food: always perfectly fried, breaded, and tossed. It was crispy and a slight chewing to batter that is addicting. Almost like fried honey? Never disappointed with the wings. Ive ordered the wings 4 times now and they are consistent, which is important. It comes with pickled radish or is it daikon? Which was sweet and tangy, and refreshing. It pairs nicely especially if you get the extra hot wings because of the contrast. Rice was a little dry and hard. My first time having the fried potstickers and they were good! Crispy and stayed Crispy for the ride home, inside was kinda bland alone but with sauce and Sriracha it was fine. Might try them again. I'm sure its basic inside (cabbage, onion, ginger? Oh my! The hype is real, my fellow Yelpers are right, this is great Korean fired chicken. It appears they are doing dine in but we aren't (just got my first dose of the vaccine so I won't be fully vaccinated until the end of April). Called in a takeout order and even though they are not doing curbside, the guy on the phone agreed to hand our order out the door to us so we didn't have to enter the restaurant. That was super accommodating. Tried the regular order (10 pieces) soy garlic wings for $11.99 and the regular hot wings (10 pieces) for the same price. The soy garlic was still nice and crispy when we got it home but I was disappointed that it didn't have much garlic flavor. I was thinking garlic "candy" like Pok Pok wings and the sauce was more sweet than I like. Still, an outstanding wing. The regular hot was pretty hot but if you prefer hotter, get the extra hot. The fellow who took our order said the extra hot was too much for him personally but it was very popular. Will try that next time. Your order comes with a small side of pickled radish and we ordered an extra side of it and were glad we did. Not too sweet and very crunchy. The menu is still evolving. Went here with my family for a late dinner and was pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the fried chicken here! We ordered a large wings half soy garlic and half hot, ddukbokki, and fries and we finished all of it. The chicken wings were the winners for sure. So great to finally see a place exclusively dedicated to the *real* KFC! Awesome Korean fried chicken, more similar to Bonchon and commercial chains than homemade--which, frankly, is the way we like it. Nothing else comes close to crispy enough. We expected to like the hot flavor, but the soy-garlic was a surprising contender for favorite. Often boring, these soy garlic are on point. Decent tteokbokki too, if on the sweeter side. It's hard to find places willing to serve it with cheese so it's great that they have that option. Major bonus for offering flavored soju and draft beer as well. Only current drawback is the lack of organization (tickets everywhere at the front counter!). Wait time was very long for dine-in, though we were accurately warned. They also had an issue finding our takeout order once. That said, the staff is very nice and once they get some experience and rhythm this place will be big. It's about a 25 min wait for a relatively large order of fried chicken when you order at the store. The chicken were made fresh. The staff kinda lost, understandable since it is their first day. The food was good tho, it was so fresh. BUT the flavors are VERY VERY similar to Bonchon. The only differences is the batter, here is lighter and the one in Bonchon is thicker (so it crunchier). I personally like a thinner/lighter batter so I like the chicken here better. This place is honestly a must try if you're a Portland native or ever in the area. Even coming from LA, this place is high up there in terms of good Korean fried chicken. FOOD: The flavors, the crunch, the juicy chicken, what more can you ask for? The soy garlic flavor is a must - it's definitely the best. If you like spice, I would recommend getting the spicy flavors too. I also like to get the French fries on the side just to add some variety to my meal but it's nothing too special (but how can you not like fries?!). We've also tried the tteokbokki, but it's just okay. I would stick with the chicken. If you're a sauce person, I highly recommend the wasabi mayo sauce that you can add to your order for .60 cents. They have 4 different meals to choose from that are great, as well as options like the Wing Series, Whole Series, Salad, Pizza, and Ddukbokki. The side salad was a bit lack luster since it was just iceberg lettuce with a side of thick ranch like dressing, but the chicken was great! I was really impressed by how juicy the chicken was, how big the pieces were, and how crunchy the outside was! The soy garlic glaze wasn't sticky so the outside was super flavorful and crisp still.
