I come to this place when I'm craving wings. Service is fast and friendly. Inside is always clean and organize. They have a little spot to make ramen of your choice. I order half soy garlic and half spicy wings. You can adjust the spice level to your liking and the soy garlic is a little sweet. Both are delicious. It's a bit on the pricey side.
I came back to give this place a second chance and I'm glad I did. The experience this time was night and day compared to my first visit. It's back in my top 3 Korean fried chicken spots. Timothy at the front was amazing. He went above and beyond to remake my order with care and great service. Not only was the order corrected, but they also noticed I had smaller pieces and thoughtfully added an extra one. That kind of attention to detail really stood out. The soy garlic chicken was flavorful, perfectly sweet and savory. I also had an Asahi beer on tap, which was ice cold and paired perfectly with the fried chicken. Still one of my favorite places to enjoy Korean fried chicken. Definitely worth the revisit.

I absolutely love ChimcKing! This is my friends and I's go to spot for whenever we're craving Korean Fried Chicken. As college students we care about 2 things, price to tastiness ratio; whether the taste of the food justify the price of the food. Their chicken absolutely justified the price, the price is already super competitively affordable and fair compared to other korean fried chicken places. The chickens are so tasty and crunchy, the soy garlic wings are our favorite order to get. I will warn customers that their spicy wings and ddukbokki are a bit unusually spicy, both items are still tasty but I recommend avoiding them if you can't handle "super" spicy food, I personally like the spiciness. Staff are nice, and the restaurant is pretty cozy, and little small in my opinion so please be mindful if your group is bigger than 4 people, for big groups like 7-10 people or more, I recommend the Portland location. Otherwise I highly recommend chimcking if you're craving Korean Fried chicken, super tasty and affordable!
I'd twerk so hard for it to not be a million bucks for 30 wings. The wings are so mmmmmmmf purrpurrpurr but then you look at your receipt and hawk a luigi on the ground bc u just spent 50 doll hairs on some wings There's not really a seating area to have a chicken wing feast with the fam so you best take the food home and nomnom elsewhere
The GOOD - super crispy, HOT, and JUICY - literally was DRIPPING - good sized wings - well seasoned, soy garlic is my FAVORITE - fast service - lots of different menu options - I enjoy the casual atmosphere with self serve water stations The BAD - none :) OTHER THOUGHTS It's been a long time since I came back. When they originally opened up a few years ago, I remember the wings really being small. Im so happy to say this is completely different than my initial experience. Price is on the average side compared to other places at $1.90/wing, but well worth it considering how fresh they come out. They have a pretty large menu so I'm excited to go back and try the other items.
I never leave reviews, but this is unacceptable. This used to be one of our favorite chicken places. Ordered today for the first time in a couple months and wow has it gone downhill. We ordered bone in half spicy half soy garlic. The chicken was a mix of boneless and bone in. It looked like they threw in random chicken they had laying around. There was no sauce on the soy garlic. Chicken in general was mediocre at best. We paid for extra wasamayo and were just given a bunch of the regular sauce. Such a disappointment. Beware it's not what it used to be...
I really like their chicken. And i used to like their treokbokki too, but I am very dissatisfied in both taste and how little rice cake there was this time I got it. It was 95% cabbage and 5 pieces of rice cakes for $14.99 I got it to go so the bowl is mine in the picture, fyi. I'm from korea and I never had any tteokbokki that puts cabbage in general but it's disappointing that they put this much cabbage so that they don't have to put as much fish cake or the rice cake. Skip this menu if you ever go to chimcking.
How I heard of this place: While on a recent trip to the area, we stopped by the Beaverton Town Center to pick up some groceries, and saw ChimcKing. We were immediately sold! Type of cuisine: Korean Fried Chicken and sides. Ambiance: A small space, overcrowded with tables, chairs and room dividers with boxes and supplies hidden behind them. Order at the counter, from the lit menu directly behind the staff, then make your way to a table of your choosing. Televisions played women's sports from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The space has warm colors and is pretty busy with dining parties, but remains relatively quiet. What I ordered: We selected the Half & Half, an XL (30 piece) family serving of boneless wings with soy garlic & hot king wings ($48.99). This meal came with a small serving of fries, and a mini container of pickled radish cubes. We also shared an order of Spring Rolls ($5.99 for 5). What I loved: The wings were delicious - not overly battered, perfectly seasoned without being drenched in sauce, crispy on the outside and moist inside. We liked the flavor of the spring rolls, though they were more wrapper than filling, and came with barely enough sweet chili sauce to enjoy two rolls. Why I loved it: Service was friendly and speedy. Food was tasty and we wished we stayed in the area longer so we could try it again. Cost: High
First time here. Came on a Thursday evening. Didn't plan on dining here, but as fate would have it, we did. They have a couple of large menu posters with food pictures outside the doors and that helps with decision making. Miju was taking orders and she was friendly and helpful. We ordered a carry-out as the place was getting busy. The dining area is relatively small and they have multiple TV screens with interesting Korean videos playing and a variety of Korean noodle packages for sale. Looks like an authentic Korean restaurant having been to the ChimcKing in Daegu, S. Korea. We ordered the following which I'd recommend; -$15.99 #12 French Fries + (5pc) Boneless Chicken + Fountain Drink -$14.99 #11 Rice King + Popcorn Chicken + Salad There was one empty table and we sat there while waiting for our carry out . The table was sticky! Don't think it was wiped down properly. However, the food was great once we got to eat it at home! Well packaged. The chicken was crispy, well seasoned. The salad was fresh and the fries well made and tasty. I've added this restaurant to my list of go-to places next time I'm looking for Korean food.
We ordered wings for delivery so I can't speak to the service or ambience of the location, but the wings and wedges were tasty! I'd definitely order again.
We loved it!! And even more surprising, as self proclaimed spicy lovers, it was the soy garlic wings that blew us out of the water! Service was quick and we recommend it as lunch on a weekend to not have to wait so long!

Excellent Korean fried chicken!! The shop is a small, nice place to be! The menu is pretty decent, very focused and you're not burdened with too many options, but you're not underwhelmed either. I had the #3, 50/50 boneless wings, large. Garlic-soy, and the Hot King. The wings are juicy and crispy! And decent sized too! The large gave me about 20-22 pieces I think? There's was quite a lot. Overall the wings are filled with flavor. The Garlic-soy is very well balanced, not too much garlic. The Hot King is decently spicy for a level 1, so watch out if spice bothers you! I also had the Cheese Ddukbokki. Now I really wanted to like this dish. I liked the concept, but the flavors were kind of imbalanced. I tasted a sweetness, but then some spice, but then what tasted something like fish sauce. Liked the cheese added, and the cabbage was nicely done. But the noodles weren't that great, and personally I could have done without them. But I still encourage anyone to give it a try if you've never had it, experience it yourself. If you're looking for some delicious fried chicken, then look no further. I was impressed with the seasoning of both options, and enjoyed how juicy almost every bite was. Next time I'm there, I am going to order the whole chicken. The place is a bit small, so it does get packed with a lot of people. I would recommend not going in a big group, this is more for two maybe three people at most because it's a limited space. Everything was pretty delicious, the only thing I wouldn't get the next time was the Cheese Ddukbokki. Not for me, and maybe because of it being a texture thing. All in all I'm looking forward to my next time here, I'm going ready to eat and I'm sticking with the bone in chicken! This was a nice place in the shopping center. They do have outdoor seating and heaters by the tables. The con is, there are a lot of homeless people around, I don't mind homeless people at all, but on this particular day we had a homeless guy that was pretty manic, he was screaming different words and statements. At one point he came to our table and yelled at my husband and said "did you say something to me?" I responded to him, "no we are just eating." He must have heard someone say something at the other table with 4 teenage boys and by the time he confronted them the security guard came by and told him to leave. The homeless man touch one of the guys, he may have lost his balance, who knows! But the security guard tackled him down and placed handcuffs on him. When the other by standards grabbed his things they found a knife. When we saw that we kind of got scared. But all was good at the end, the police arrived when we were leaving. The 3 stars is not entirely about the food but included the experience. read more
Came back to try again! I arrived 4 minutes earlier and they were almost done making mine so they were punctual. While waiting I was just enjoying Kpop on one of their TVs (DreamCatcher's Dejavu keke). This time, I ordered the soy garlic bone-in chicken (10 pieces) for $11.99. Even though I brought it home and it cooled down, it was still very good. Nice texture and the flavor was delicious. A great combination of garlic, sweet, and savory soy sauce (I THINK, not 100% sure). It also came with pickled radish which was very good, too. One the first Korean Fried Chicken places to open in the area! Compared to the big KFC chains like BonChon and Vons, this chicken is pretty decent! We got 90 wings (45 soy garlic, 45 hot king), cheese tteokbokki, and 3 orders of potato wedges. This was plenty for the 8 people in our household to share. We had a bit of leftovers! The soy garlic was definitely my favorite. It was flavorful, not too saucy, and very easy to eat. The tteokbokki was much spicier than I expected, so be wary of that if you can't handle spicy food! My friends and I weren't expecting it to to come wrapped in bubble wrap, but that was a fun touch to prevent it from spilling. read more

Does anyone just ever scroll through Yelp in the middle of the night searching for food? Guilty! I've been doing that a lot lately as I'm watching videos of one of my favorite Youtubers, Strictly Dumpling, touring through Korea eating Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) before I go to bed. Bad decision because I get those late-night cravings and end up staying up later searching for places that have Korean Fried Chicken. Thankfully, I came across Chimcking. I went to their restaurant and ordered their XL Chimcking No. 2 Half and Half Wing Series- 30 pcs Soy Garlic and Extra Hot King Wing for takeout. The wait time was about 15 mins long. For starters, as most Yelpers would agree, their wings are relatively small compared to other wing joints. Their wings are really crispy and the meat wasn't dry. From the two flavors I ordered, I did prefer the Soy Garlic over the Extra Hot King Wing. The sauce nicely coated the wing and its sauce was just right. The Extra Hot King sauce was okay, not spicy at all. The sauce reminded me more of a sweet and sour pork barbeque spareribs dish. The meal also comes with a small side of daikon, which was a good palate cleanser. Overall, I've thoroughly enjoyed Chimcking compared to other KFC I have tasted in Portland, and I can't wait to come back. read more
Chimcking is KING of Korean fried chicken! The wings are flavorful, crispy and have good prices too. Definitely a place I would hit up again when craving fried chicken. We ordered 30 pieces of the half and half (soy garlic and hot king) and also the regular soy garlic boneless chicken. The soy garlic wings are sweet and garlicky but the hot king is definitely my favorite. The hot king isn't spicy (at least to me) but definitely has a nice kick for those unfamiliar with Korean spices. I expected the boneless chicken to be more like chicken tenders but they were much smaller bits, therefore having more batter and crunchy. Not my favorite and probably would order more hot king wings or try other dishes instead. My favorite part of Korean fried chicken is the side of radish cubes! Most would think it's a weird combo but I compare it to ginger when eating sushi as it cleanses the palate but also compliments the flavor. I wanted to try the ddukbokki but they didn't have it today as it was the soft opening. My biggest warning to both customers and owner is one of their employees. My sister overheard a female employee unable to provide answers for multiple questions while waiting for our food. A customer asked what was in their Chimcking rice and the employee simply said "I don't know." She also couldn't pronounce ddukbokki despite it being a well known Korean dish for a Korean restaurant. We also ordered an extra side of radish but she didn't give us any. When we asked, she claimed that the side of radish is not free and therefore we got our money's worth. However we had ordered chicken earlier and it came with radish when we didn't order it. We even confirmed with the owner and she said every chicken comes with radish.... I hope this employee is trained more as this is damaging for the restaurant. Overall I don't want to dock any stars as the food was good and I know soft openings during Covid times are difficult already. I plan on coming back and hope that things improve soon! read more
Went there at 2pm for dine in and they took our order right away. The line or ordering got about 12 deep within 20 minutes. We waited over an hour but they never called our name and we watched folks who ordered 15 minutes after us get their food. After going up and asking for the second time, they finally checked and it's been on their to go shelf. It's been sitting there for at least 20 minutes and I said I don't think I want cold chicken. The guy insisted it's still warm. Since I didn't want still warm wings I asked for my order be cancelled. While we were leaving I think I overheard they'll use it for another order. I think we'll try again long after their soft opening is done. Do check often if you go. It was crazy busy and they don't always call out orders and instead wait for you to go ask for it. read more
Located next to Tous Le Jours, we were very happy with our lunch at ChimcKing. ChimcKing offers indoor and outdoor seating. We shared the regular size of half and half of boneless soy garlic and hot king and a side of king rice. The rice was seasoned with sesame oil and nori. That rice is so good! The rice inspired me to make rice that way. The boneless chicken wings were delicious. Even the hot wasn't too hot, just a little bit of kick. The meal was delicious and I'm looking forward to more meals there. read more

Wow! Nice and clean restaurant with fast and friendly service from all the employees! I felt very welcomed, they were all smiling so big :) I got the number 12, which comes with a fountain drink, five pieces of boneless chicken wings of your choice (I got the soy garlic), and french fries. I usually don't like garlic wings but these were awesome! Perfect flavor, and they were crispy but still tender and juicy. Ranch was great too, tasted house made! Omg the BEST chicken wings! The soy garlic wings are the best I've ever had. I had them for dinner two nights in a row and would gladly go tomorrow night also. LOL! They're sweet, salty and flavorful, almost like a candy coating. Very crunchy. No dipping sauce needed. The staff is really kind. There's not a lot of seating and the ambiance isn't amazing but the place is clean. There were a lot of to-go orders happening when we were there. I'll definitely be a regular here for a big plate of wings. read more

I am always excited about comfort asian food places and this did not disappoint. We (two people) split a large half and half soy garlic and hot king along with a few sides. Chicken wings were tasty, and the hot wasn't too spicy - this according to my friend who doesn't love spicy food. The potatoes were nothing special but they were also good and crisp. The pickled radishes are a nice, and pretty traditionally Korean, side to pair with fried chicken. The rice though, DELICIOUS. I can't quite remember what's in the rice king but it's like seaweed and generally deliciousness - just trust me on this one, try it. They have some outdoor seating that is mostly covered as well as a few indoor places. There's also a korean restaurant around the corner if you want to have a full korean meal. Only thing that makes me sad is that this place is a chain. Also, I went back the other day and they were out of their hot sauce so they couldn't make over half their menu, which is a bit weird. And they weren't getting the shipment in for a few days. I don't know how often that happens but hopefully not frequently! read more
The name "ChimcKing" is impossible to pronounce, but we were craving chicken wings so we gave this place a shot! Korean fried chicken wings - AMAZING. Both the soy garlic and the spicy wings were amazing and well flavored. The skin was deliciously crispy and cracklin'. Potato wedges were also bomb delicious. They were incredibly crispy even until the end of the meal. The ddeokbokki (or Korean spicy rice cakes) were underwhelming. Honestly, the dish was about 60% cabbage, 30% fish cakes, and 10% rice cake. And for a dish that has "rice cake" in the name, that's unacceptable!! Please give us more rice cakes!! read more
The workers were welcoming right when I came in. This girl was super duper nice, explained to me that ordering on their personal website would've been cheaper then ordering through Yelp so she was helping me save money. The restaurant was a bit small for dine in but take out was fast and if you have to wait, it's within a pretty big plaza so you can take a walk. It's located next to a delicious bakery so you can stop by for some dessert after getting your chicken. I got the half soy and half extra hot. It comes with a small cup of radish and their radish... lemme tell you... I wish I could buy a bucket of it. I believe it's worth to pay a little more for the extra radish but that's just me. I used to be a frequent customer but will no longer be going here due to the bad service for take out orders. I placed a take out order and requested the the sauces for the chicken be put on the side as I was planning on taking this to reheat and eat once I got to my destination about 30-45 minutes away, otherwise it would be soggy. When I picked it up, I saw that they had sauced it. I went back in to let them know and asked if they could remake it or do anything, and when I was rudely just told "no," I just asked if they could give me a couple of sauces on the side then. They just said "no" again and that their manager would not let them. What? What kind of business policy is this? I would have paid for the sauce if they even offered that as an option. For a place that serves chicken that is meant to be crispy upon consumption, this makes no sense for take out orders. There was no sense of customer service at all and the guy at the register didn't really try to do anything to help besides say "no." read more

I hate to leave 3 star review but hope this review considers as a tool for the improvement. I ordered their chicken and ddukbokki when this place just opened and it was amazing crispy tasty Korean style chicken, im a Korean btw, but a year after now it is lack of flavor and not crispy at all..ddukbokki has no flavor but capsaicine.. Fish cakes smells so bad.. couldn't swell it. Please rinse them before cook.. To the owner, Please take a moment to taste it once in a while if you cook or if your employee still cook properly. This wasn't first time. I actually order few times but didn't leave review because as a Korean, i wanted to support you to do success business and i thought it could be happened if I ordered in busy time. read more
Been here a handful of times and have loved the chicken every time. This time it was a bit different. We ordered the Half & Half Boneless Soy Garlic and Hot King Wing. The chicken was fried well, I love the crispy outer layer and the juicy inside. However, the flavoring of the chicken was lacking a bit. Maybe the chicken wasn't coated in the sauce as much? We also ordered the Rice King and noticed some of the toppings weren't on it, it was just the nori seaweed and the salsa sauce. Regardless, it still tasted good, but just different than before. read more
Sorry fellow yelpers, but I've ordered from here at least four or five times. The very first visit last year during covid times was just OK, and never really impressed after. In the beginning, I understand that they were adjusting the menu since they opened. So I was willing to give them more than a second chance. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I've tried to like it here, I just don't. Here's what I've tried: ~~ Ddukbokki - Now THIS I loved! I personally thought it was made just right. And for that, they earned an extra star! ~~ Soy Garlic Wings - Was OK. They were fried up good, only some wings were fried up too long. I liked the crispiness and saltiness, only I hate to say, but I've had better. No one wants hard wings. ~~ Hot King - Was again, also just OK. Spicy and sweet and nothing spectacular. If the wings were tender, then I likely wouldn't complain. ~~ Drumsticks (NO LONGER AVAILABLE) - I forgot the name they gave it on the menu, but this was my favorite thing. And having it Hot King style. Since they removed this from the menu, I'm reducing that extra star. This actually was delicious having it the first time, but I became quite upset when the guy said "We don't have that anymore". Pure let down. Bring it back, and I'll come back. ~~ Pickled Radish - They cut them in cubes about the size of a pea. Really, why? Complete eye-roll! It appears they've opened back up, and with both t.v. monitors on; One playing sports and the other playing kpop videos. And it also looks like they expanded their make-shift patio as well which is fine. Unfortunately, the homeless hanging around nearby can be an issue. Idk, its gonna be awhile until I crave this place again, but I know it won't be again any time soon. Three stars is better than none. read more
Uhm, what?! I can't believe there has been some negative reviews of this place.... what?! Okay. Let me make it clear. I've gone back to Korea many times over the years and always raved to my husband about it. He kept shaking his head " Yeah, okay.... Korean Chicken... meh" and I kept reinstating that no, Korean Chicken is the best fried chicken. Hands down!! This went on for years while I searched far and wide in the states looking for it. Guess what??? This place has done it!!! Perfectly Crispy, crunchy fried chicken with the best Soy Garlic or Spicy or Extreme Spicy!!! The spicy rice cake was also really good, but really spicy, but hey. That's the beauty of it. Burn baby BURRNNN!!! The icing on the cake is the larger size beer they serve on tap LOL hubby definitely enjoyed that and the very traditional Korean Pickled Radish to compliment and complete the dish! Prices seems fair and selections are great! I would 100%reccomend to family and friends. *Also, place seemed really clean. They don't have a great set up for AC so, might consider getting togo in the summer, but the outdoor patio seems nice. We've dined in and gotten togo. Staff seems to wear masks, as customers to wear masks, hand sanitizer is also available and seating is spread out. There are limited seating inside so, first come first dibs. Oh, if you were wondering what happened?? Did your husband enjoy it?? Hahaha let me tell you.... it was one of the best moments of my life! The look on his face with the first bite- that everything vanished. He was shook!!! SHOOKED!!! Harmonies balance of texture and flavor literally blew his mind. This restaurant was okay. I used to eat at Bonchon in Phoenix a lot and decided when I finally moved back to Portland that I should try something different. So I decided to give this place a try. The parking lot is in the same lot as Trader Joe's. The gentleman working the counter was incredibly nice. We ordered the half and half (soy garlic and hot king). I was disappointed when the order came out because the large looked like a small in bonchon size. The wings and drumsticks were super small. The spicy side wasn't spicy at all. No real kick at all. The real winner was the flavor of the soy garlic. The order came with a side of pickled radish and that was delicious. At the end of your meal you bus your own table. Overall I would say the experience was pleasant and new. I probably would like to try other places before returning read more

First time coming to this location and I think everything was decent. I ordered number 11 which includes rice king, popcorn chicken and a salad. My cousin got number 10 which includes hot king popcorn chicken and fries. Chicken was very crispy but very little or flavors. The fries was somewhat soggy and plain, would enjoyed it more a little more salt added. Salad was decent, their ranch tasted very mayo-like and thick consistency. I enjoyed their king rice the most. It's different with more flavoring to it. I think the chicken itself is pricey for what it's worth. Service was also decent. read more
