over cooked chicken

I really hate to do this but in today's economy, spending $60 and driving 25 minutes one way, I don't really have any recourse except to express my disappointment in the food. I ordered a meal for (4) which came with a whole chicken, 2 sides and then I ordered an additional large side. What I received was 2 tiny little portion sides that barely fed 2 people. The chicken had zero flavor and was way over cooked. It didn't just have no flavor but had zero spices whatsoever. Just chicken thrown into a deep fryer and fried until almost black. The beans had no flavor, the slaw was OK but the mac salad was made with what tasted like stale sweet pickles. Then, under the chicken was about 4 pounds of soggy, large cut potato wedges that had been battered and deep fried with zero (not even a spec) of seasoning. No salt, no seasoning what so ever! It was literally the worst food I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. I was so disappointed after looking at their website and driving nearly an hour round trip. The only good part about the entire experience was the bartender who was very friendly and the rolls which tasted store bought.

Large spuds + 8 piece tenders and house made dill dip

Just relocated to the west side of PDX and wanted to check this place out. Plenty of parking, friendly and attentive service + great beers on tap. Ordered the 8 piece chicken tenders and large spuds to split with my husband. SO MUCH more food than I thought it would be, but not complaining The spuds (jojos) were so good! It is so hard to find a place that makes good jojos that aren't overcooked, tiny potato wedges. This place delivered!!! The house made dill dipping sauce?? Yummmm! The chicken itself was quite dry, but we might've gone on an off night. It could be that we got tenders instead of bone in chicken, which is their specialty. Will definitely be back to give the chicken another try and enjoy the spuds again.

We come here almost every month and their food gets better and better every time we go I would recommend getting the Snack box three-piece or two piece chicken breast I hope you enjoy the most amazing place Fryer Tuck

I was really impressed by the portion size!

I was thinking about chicken, yes fried chicken. I'm a real fan of southern fried chicken and I noticed that I had a place right down the road that serves it. My curiosity for reviews led me for a quick read on my Yelp app and I discovered that the reviews weren't so great but I had to find out for myself. Stopped in and was delighted with the atmosphere and prompt service. I ordered 2 huge thighs, took a bite and said WoW! It was great and I can't believe it took me so long to discover this place! I'm definitely coming back here!

Dinner for two

Can't speak to eating at the location as we just ordered to go and this place closely falls between a 3.5-4 stars but I rounded up just due to the massive portion sizes! Be sure to order ahead if you can since the wait can be 20-25 mins since they make the chicken fresh to order and if you want to avoid wait times. We ended up waiting in our car since it was raining, but there is an outdoor area and on a Friday night the Cider Mill restaurant next door seemed to have outdoor karaoke if you want to kill time. Menu is pretty standard with chicken wings, tenders, meals, and sides from fries, mozzarella sticks, etc. We opted to get the Dinner for 2 (1/2 chicken to go) and it came with chicken, french fries, slaw, and dinner rolls ($18). We added a size of mozzarella sticks for $7.25. After 20 mins we got the box and it was MASSIVE. The box was like a small sized amazon box for delivery and was a custom box made for the restaurant (super cool). Everything is just included in one box vs. separated out which made it easy to carry. As for the food + Chicken (3.5/5) - The chicken pieces were nicely portioned and had a nice crunch. The batter was cooked all the way through and wasn't too thick. I probably would have preferred some additional seasoning on it. + Spuds (3.5/5) - The spuds are thick cut fries (think steak fries) and were plenty to an order. They were fresh and had a nice flavor but I would have just fried them a bit longer as I enjoy super crispy fries. They're nice for a texture contrast to the chicken crunch though. + Mozzarella Sticks (3.5/5) - They come 8 to an order so easy to share. The marinara sauce was simple but went well since the mozzarella sticks coating had a nice flavor and crunch. Plenty of cheese but would have preferred a smaller ratio for the cheese to coating. _________ Overall, the dinner for 2 is a pretty solid option if you're craving fried chicken and portions that will last you 1-2 meals. I think the size and flavors definitely justified the price and made the visit worth it, but I would like to try other fried chicken restaurants before making this my go-to option in the area.

You want old school chicken? You want no frills, just good cooking food? Then this is the place for you. They don't fry a bunch of chicken, and then have it sitting under warming lamps all day, they freshly fry it when you order it. Crispy, crunchy, tasty chicken. Plain and simple. Big chunks of potatoes, golden fried as well. Dill sauce that pares well with the chicken and potatoes. This isn't chicken fusion food. This isn't wine-sipping food. This is a 32oz Rainier beer, get my more napkins, burn your fingers and mouth because it's so hot, kinda place. Where the drinks are made strong, the food is classic, the servers are friendly, kinda place. So, order a drink, and sit back and wait for awesome chicken and potatoes!

I have been going to this restaurant since 1971. It used to be in a little tiny building in Beaverton. This is the very best place to eat chicken hearts, spuds, enjoy the customers and the employees I have ever visited. I do enjoy the fried chicken, however when I visit, I treat myself to something extra special which is always the chicken hearts. I have never been disappointed in their customer service or food in over 50 years!

Massive portions, perfect comfort food. We love the chicken and potatoes but not the sides. The dill sauce is perfect.

Horrible service, marginal food at best. This place used to be good, so I was shocked and disappointed to see how far it's fallen.

Disappointed in the chicken. Not like it used to be. The spuds were good. This the second time we've ordered there but not again.

The crab fried rice is a fan favorite for good reason--it's flavorful, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. My personal favorites are the samosas and the roasted cauliflower, both of which are full of amazing spices and prepared with so much care. What really makes Nom Nom stand out, though, is the people behind it. The owners and chefs are genuinely welcoming and passionate about what they do, creating an atmosphere that feels just as memorable as the food itself. Whether it's your first visit or your tenth, you're always treated like family. Great food, wonderful people, and a warm, inviting experience make Nom Nom one of my favorite places to eat.

I don't know if we came on a bad day or is it just bad?…read more We got the wings and they were so small that three of them would equal the same size of a wing at another proper place. But even worse, they were so dry that it felt like it was heated at 400° for 30 minutes. And for $16 that's horrific, I would say that this is like the wings you would find at a dive bar at 11 PM with no choices, and they would probably only charge you about $8 to $10. The Momo was just simply not good. We got the chili chicken and they were extremely small, over fried, and the sauce taste just like a store-bought, sweet thai chili sauce Lastly, we got the nacho for nacho week and oh my God was that a disappointment as well. It came out extremely cold, and it might be intended to serve not hot, but this was like straight out of the fridge cold. If you look at the pictures they have on the nacho week website, it looked nothing like it. It was a disgrace as it was probably 90% nacho in 10% everything else. If you split up the toppings, it would only need about four or five chips before you've exhausted all the toppings that came with it. Then you're left with 90% of just tortilla chips. I don't know how this place got so many good reviews but either this is a really bad day, but we got three separate dishes that were all bad, but I'm inclined to think that it's just simply bad.

He already knew what he wanted, Chicken Wings, and I already knew what I wanted, Bulgogi! He also ordered Onion rings. His chicken wings were like: that big! Walked in and was pretty surprised there was no one around. (Head-scratch) OK, I'll try them anyways. No one at the counter either. I checked out the menu board and just waited, np. Out comes, possibly the owner or cook, whom was helpful about the types of wings and sauces but that was about it with the interaction. I guess helpful enough, even thought I've never been here. So I went with the 12-piece Bone-in Wing Combo (@ $29.49), which also comes with fries and coleslaw. The sauces I chose were the galbi and hot honey mustard as recommended. At first, I wasn't sure which wings were which, meaning they both almost looked the same. But obviously the hot honey mustard was lighter in color versus the galbi. The wings were crispy and excellent, but a tad bit over saucy. I wish I had more crisp on the outside. Maybe I'll ask for sauce on the side next time. Also, the big box of Crinkle Fries were decent, but I thought the coleslaw for some reason was very peppery. I didn't understand why. I guess that's their style of slaw, idk. Overall, I really wanted to love this joint, but I feel that it's just a 3-star kind of place imho. It's the price versus taste versus how hot it was outside. Unfortunately, the place didn't have any a/c on and the tables didn't look as clean as the other older posted pics on yelp. Someday, I'll be back to hopefully upgrade my review, but for now, it is what it is.

I recommend to try if you like fried chicken. -Wok-Fried Yu Choy was wayyyy tooooo salty. Hubs & I wanted some greens and it was fried with generous amounts of garlic, but it just got saltier and saltier as we ate it. -White Curry w/ Brisket Burnt Ends, this dish was a little bit of a mixed bag. The white curry (roasted cauliflower + coconut cream) was delicious, but did it pair well with the Brisket Burnt Ends? Not really IMO. I don't think the flavors match. I'm not exactly sure what would pair well with the white curry, maybe some veg or tofu...but BBQ fusion with the curry wasn't the best. 2 unisex restrooms available, the one I used was clean. Service was a little scattered. We got the Yu-Choy first, followed by the ceviche a few minutes later. But the Fried Chicken and White Curry took a while to come (about another 10-15 mins. to come). We were lucky to find some street parking in the neighborhood nearby.

Many are about the same - they're chicken wings (some are boneless and some are bone in). They all come with some kind of rub or sauce or whatever that makes them stand out. They come w/ a dipping sauce and are accompanied with either veggies or fries, sometimes rings, or sometimes they just drop the ball and it's a menagerie of cold wings, cold fries, no sauce and you wonder why even bother. My food was cold. Ever tried to eat cold fries. Blech. Or reheat them? Don't bother. The wings had some gloppy "sauces" on them - the Parmesan/Garlic sauce to be exact. A thick pungent sauce splattered in the corner of the container and seriously wasn't sure why. Maybe if they'd included the Ranch Dressing sauce for dipping I could have overlooked this mess but they forgot that tiny component, now didn't they. I ordered 16 but 3 were inedible because they were over-fried so I really had 13 wings. To top it all off we picked the churros (AVOID THEM) as a 2fer. Yup, bonus round we got 2 sets of these things and as baker who know how to make caramel sauce from scratch I assure you those "churros" were stuffed with something out of a jar. The chocolate ones were a bit better in flavor only because it tasted like they used hershey's chocolate sauce to "stuff" them so it was at least palatable unlike their "caramel" versions. All in all. Nope. Not going to order from them again. I'm done with wings online period.
