I was finally able to swing by and stop here for lunch. They have just remodeled the diner which looks good. I got the skyline cheeseburger, fries, and a soda. So I would advise if you are hungry you need to order the half pound burgers. I ordered the 1/4 pound burger, it had very fresh veggies but that is probably the thinnest patty I've seen on a burger. The meat did taste good though. The fries were good and the service was really good. I will say that this was not worth $20.25 for what you get. And the kitchen was playing music fairly loudly, while I really enjoyed what they were playing, I would think that this could be a detractor for the business. read more

What a fantastic burger! It was my first time ever visiting this place. I've wanted to come here for years but its never been the right time. They are remodeling right now, painting the outside and all new seating and tables inside. I am dreaming about the juicy burger I had and I cant wait to go again soon and take my husband. You seat yourself in a diner with vinyl red seating booth. Very nostalgic. I ordered a Giant Half Pound Philly Cheesesteak Burger. I ordered a Medium Rare and it was perfectly cooked. The Giant Half pound Burger size is something you can take home. The roast beef was definitely very tender and delicious. The size and various ingredients of the burger was a joy to share. Parking is ok a bit tight. When I arrived there were only a few cars. I entered and greeted fairly quickly. The staff is super nice. The space not good for a wheelchair. No space for a wheelchair to sit with others really. The clientele soon came rolling in for pick and dine-in. Soon the place was packed. The burger is grass-fed beef yes on the texture typical of a grass-fed. The toppings are fresh. The bread simple. This place gives you a knife and fork with your Burger for a reason... If your order "any" of the 1/2 Pound burgers, be prepared, these are no your standard fast food burgers. These are massive and deliciously Messy. Get your napkins ready. Being our first time here, we tried the Go Big or Go Home burger and the Aloha Burger. We were not prepared. . These burgers were not small, so tall I was not able to bite down from top to bottom. Honestly we were a little... how shall I say... shy? -Super aware of everyone around us watching/waiting to see how we go about attacking these burgers- In the end we just said F - it, and dove in face first. There's really no other way. It was Glorious. It was Delicious. And it was Messy. Both burgers were super juicy and tasty. It was a serious attack on the senses. Not for the timid. I was only able to finish half, and even with half, it barely fit in the to go box. Oh yeah.... We had fries and onion rings. Crisped to perfection. And, their Milkshakes were super thick and creamy. I came here looking forward to the shakes. I guess they didnt like us because it was tough getting service, we sat where they pointed us but then helped people being seated after us. They finally took our order , they brought out everything except the fries which I could see upon the counter next to the rest of the order. No one checked on us, never asked if we wanted a refill (I would've) . They kept walking by the counter ignoring the fries. Finally my friend gets up to ask a waitress for our fries, first she goes and looks at them, then goes in the back, she comes back out and helps other people, finally the other waitress brings them over when we were pretty much finished. They were dried out with no salt. They never asked if we wanted shakes. I wish we didnt leave a tip. Also another couple came in and waited, and finally just left. I love grungy old diners but this isnt worth it. Also I work retail and try to be very easy, kind and appreciative to all workers cause customers can be awful I understand. We love this place! My spouse has been eating here for over 40 years. Yes, its clearly been around for a long time, not a ton of seating and you have to wait until the tables are cleared before being allowed to sit but the food is always good, hot and quick. Skyline Restaurant is a true gem! We had the chicken tenders, fries, a coffee malt, and a chocolate shake--everything was excellent. The chicken tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the fries were golden and delicious. The real stars were the shakes! The coffee malt had a rich, smooth flavor with just the right balance of coffee and sweetness, and the chocolate shake was thick, creamy, and absolutely indulgent. This is strictly a review of a shake experience at Skyline. :) It was a last minute visit of opportunity, as we were driving past after lunch and the shake sign called my name. Service was friendly but a bit confusing. We walked in...received a friendly greeting...and let the young man know we just wanted shakes to-go. He took our order but no payment and got redirected by another employee. She had no idea we'd ordered, took our payment, and no one really knew that he had gone back to get our order going. Nonetheless, we paid and the shakes arrived shortly, an Oreo and a mint chocolate chip. They were definitely yummy. Well, my Oreo was, and although my husbands choice tastes like medicine to me, he loved it. The only real complaint was that the straws were the skinny kind. And in the case of the choc chip, he literally fought for every sip as the chips were constantly plugging up the straw. Regardless, he sucked his way through awhile and eventually deferred to the spoon instead. The interior was like stepping back in diner time. Smaller space inside with outdoor seating as well, and a decent amount of parking. We look forward to returning to try the food sometime. read more

The food here was pretty good. Average id say. The fries were no salty at all but there is salt at the table. The staff was very friendly. The space is very small and squished. The seats are right up to the table. A family of five adults will barely squeeze into a booth. If there are kids in the booth playing behind you, you will feel the kicking. Outside is a disaster, grease bin is disgusting and off putting, stacks of pallets, rat traps, failing concrete meet you upon arrival. Outside seating minimal picnic benches, filthy. Restroom is outside and mighty scary looking if you can get past the piles of recycling, past the boarded up window. Inside definitely needs a deep cleaning for sure, booths are dated some worn out. Service can be super slow, under staffed. Lipstick on water glasses, sticky menus. Our server had an attitude and no time to serve, slap it down and disappear. Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon while in the area. I've driven past this place a few times and always wanted to give it a shot. The place is pretty small inside. There is one aisle of about 10 booths available to sit in and a few seats at the small counter area. They also have a decent picnic area out back, if you prefer to eat outside. The parking lot is pretty small, but there is a gravel area across the street I saw people parking in. Their menu is pretty extensive. After reviewing everything we decided on the bacon cheeseburger ($9.25), french fries ($3.50), tator tots ($5.50) and a vanilla shake ($6). The vanilla shake was really good, thick and a nice sweet vanilla flavor. The tots and fries were cooked nicely and not greasy at all. The burger was good, but did not seem like a quarter pounder. The patty was super thin...would recommend getting a double if you like a decent amount of meat on your burger! The bacon was delicious and cooked perfectly, and the veggies on the burger tasted fresh. Overall the burger was lots of veggies and little meat. We were a bit disappointed...it didn't seem worth the $9.25 price tag. The service was good and the wait seemed a little long, but they were pretty busy filling to-go orders (mostly milkshakes) as well as helping dine-in customers. Skyline is such a charming little diner that feels like it's in the middle nowhere. So awesome! Once you walk in, you'll be greeted by an awesome large werewolf! The burgers and fries are so deliciousI I highly recommend their Classic Quarter-Pound Burger, specifically the Skyline Cheeseburger (with American Cheese) and a basket of their fries with a side of honey mustard. Their onion rings are also delicious because they're beer-battered! Finally, this place serves Coca-Cola Classic products! Always a win for me. Helpful Tip: There's ample parking (few spots in the front and plenty of spots next to the back patio) but the lot is a bit tricky to navigate through so just be careful! read more

The burger is big in circumstance but again the ratty decor had me distracted. The service was good but again the decor is a hot mess. Stopped for an impromptu lunch with friends and was excited cause I hadn't been to Skyline burger for a few years. My impression was they must've sold...new owners. The service was good, the weight staff was friendly and the place looked clean as far as I could tell. My burger unfortunately was cold and well...Meh. I ordered a coffee milkshake to go with my burger and what I got was a soupy version of the old shake that you could barely suck through a straw. The bill for three of us was $72 minus the tip. This was the best spot for a cozy, nostalgic, and delicious lunch. My husband brought me here to show me his favorite childhood lunch spot - I can see why he loved it! Seating was plentiful, service was quick, and the entire place has vintage charm. I really enjoyed my burger and appreciated that they had gluten free buns. The fries were tasty and plentiful. A couple weeks ago when we were desperate for food we ordered from Skyline. I was a little skeptical, our prior experience was ok but not amazing. That was years ago though so trying again seemed reasonable. Honestly, my patty melt was dang near perfect.Nicely caramelized grilled onions, melty swiss, nice fat patty on toasty swirled rye bread. It was big but not huge. It came with a container of a sort of thousand island- ish sauce. Delicious! And I enjoyed the homemade potato salad I chose instead of fries.The creamy, mustardy, potato salad was so good I found myself craving it this morning. I may need to get it again. The fries I rejected, well they arrived anyway for some reason. So. Many. Fries. I ate one. It was fine. My kid got an enormous teriyaki burger. ( aka Aloha burger). It was very messy and upsettingly sliding around so it wound up being eaten with a fork. I think if we get the teen a burger again we will try for a less complex model because this caused great angst. It reportedly tasted good, however, and was eaten in two or three sittings. The teen also got fries with gravy and that was deemed "decent". There were also creamy sweet milkshakes. They are very customizable. One was raspberry chocolate and the other caramel coffee. You can order them extra thick if you would like. There are all kinds of flavors available. Mine was not super coffee-y. I ate it the next day with a spoon. This was a decent if somewhat unhealthy dinner delivery option. Yes, they have some healthy choices but...it's Skyline. C'mon. I had not been to this restaurant in about 10 years I would say. I remember it being an old-fashioned diner with good burgers and fries. Today I stopped by on a whim to have a burger. I will say first off that the burger was pretty good. It was a half pound cheeseburger with fresh veg. and a good bun. I chose to have a salad instead of the french fries. I asked the server if I could have salad "instead of fries". He said yes sure. When I got my bill, I realized that he had charge me six dollars for the salad. So I paid regular price for a salad-$6! but did not get any fries. I feel like he should've said yes it is an extra fee though. I would've gotten the salad anyway and maybe ate a couple of the fries. The salad was large with fresh lettuce, cucumbers, a couple of tomato slices. The odd thing was a small piece of American cheese on top. The French dressing was really good. The burger part of the hamburger was a little disappointing. It was a very thin burger that was kind of grey. With all the other things on the big bun it was okay. Now here is the biggest part of the two star review. The place was very dirty. The carpet is at least 20 years old. The tables and seats were dirty. I saw the waiter wipe off the table with the same cloth that he wiped off the seats. Also the biggest turn off, which made me not finish my lunch, was the 2 inches of dust on all the surfaces. The napkin holder had a good amount of dust on top of it. The salt and pepper shakers, the condiments on the table, it always greasy and dirty. Too bad. This place could have such a great impact on the community. It could be such a cute and vital thing. It needs a lot of upgrades and most of all cleaning. Sorry to say it was a letdown for my nostalgic memory. I would like to say that the server was efficient and checked back with me right away. I did not complain or say anything.
