I came last night just for the tacos and was very disappointed. I got 2 beef tacos and one chicken taco and they were probably the worst tacos I've ever had in my entire life (even worst than summer camp tacos). The soft shell was very hard, almost stale like. And the beef tacos were extremely dry. The chicken was ground chicken tacos and that was very dry and left more to be desired from. The bartenders seem nice and I'm assuming the drinks here are probably better. Just don't come for the food. read more

Mmmm I'm all about Chilo's! The girl who's subletting for me said she chose my place because she'll be closer to Chilo's. Favorite taco: Huitlacoche AKA 'corn truffle' AKA corn fungus AKA corn smut! This taco from Chilo's was my first introduction to the delicacy, and I go straight for it whenever I'm hungry at home. So much goodness and yumminess in each bite. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I love their sauces, particularly habanero. I've also tried their dangerous Triple XXX Brooklyn's Hottest sauce... it's not that hot! Staff works so hard! They are so awesome. I've never ordered drinks though. read more

Went late night for some shrimp tacos..it was amazing. I also had the tequila and pico de gallo shot. Was great... I will definitely come back here when in BK. Come there to get your life, honey!! read more

Not bad! Not great! Fish taco was a 4, chicken taco was a (dry!) 2. Maybe if I'd had a drink in me id be happier? But I'd say skip this place. Great space and taco truck idea is cool but not great food. read more

Terrible service. They decided not to deliver on the 4th July but chose to keep their ordering software open. there was no notification anywhere that they were not delivering. Waited 2 hours. Tried their phone. nobody to pick up. sure that makes sense but an automated response seemed the obvious thing to have. Since then I have had my dinner, breakfast and a few cups of coffee. Got a message now that my food is being delivered. Are they....(ok, so my better half has asked me not to be rude, so I shall hold back some choice adjectives) ...So then...I respectfully called To cancel. Now they want me to mail them to request for a refund. WHAT!!! ... I mean..someone stop me from saying something...please read more

Got food poisoning from the beef taco out back!! Literally knocked me out for a day a half. You'd think a $6 taco would taste good and not make you sick...how wrong I was... read more

I consider myself to be somewhat of a Mexican food connoisseur, and more often than not, a lot of Mexican food spots that New Yorkers rave about are actually pretty subpar if you've ever had the pleasure of authentic Mexican or TexMex. However, this is the only place that passes the test, with flying colors. The tacos are DELICIOUS. Especially the smoked beef. Seasoned to absolute perfection. I try to come here as often as I possibly can for those tacos. I also get the black bean & avocado tostada, which is good too but knocked this down to a four star review because 50% of the time, the tostada shell tastes stale and the beans are sometimes lukewarm, and I just feel like for a tostada that's already overpriced at $7, there's no room for screwing it up. But I always let it slide because the tacos are so freaking good. They also have lots of frozen drinks (my fave) and will kindly let you sample all of them before you settle on a fave. Also, the vibe of this place is just the best. You can come alone, with friends, I often see families with kids, and they're free to sit outside by the food truck or even inside where the bar is. read more

I used to go here often when I lived right across the street. Great chill spot for some frozen margarita and delicious tacos! Remember to try their sauces. read more

First time here so far it looks good. But I have to come back on a weekend for the final result. for now I give it 3 stars. read more

I love Chilo's. Their tacos are among my favorite in NYC - not to mention the black bean & avocado tostada! The margaritas are great - just wish they were slightly cheaper. I've been know to rack up quite a bar tab here. The bar staff is always very friendly and responsive and they generally play great music. It can get pretty crowded, but seats open up pretty quickly. I also love that their backyard is open year-round and covered and heated during the colder months. read more

Delicious tacos and affordable prices. Great spot for a somewhat quick bite that tastes great. The combinations of tacos they offer is solid - a few protein options aside from fish. Fish is the stand out though. Easy to please many...highly recommend! read more

New to the neighborhood and Chilo's has quickly become our go-to spot! Great bartenders, a tv for sports and TACOS! The stationary taco truck out back is a cool concept and the food is delicious. The backyard does get pretty packed on nice days but everyone is always willing to share extra seats at their picnic table. Super fun spot! read more

Carnitas tacos are great! I found the tostadas and tortas to be a little pricey but all in all is a great hang out spot with drinks and good food read more

Chilo's - Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Went there on 2 different occasions and since the second time i enjoyed it much better i decided to give my review based on that. We went friday evening and surprisingly the place was empty. Maybe because it was super cold outside. Well anyway, we ordered frozen margaritas - coconut flavor (pic attached)forgot the name but its the only one coconut there and it was sweet and good, could be a little bit stronger. My friend loved it but for me it was bit too sweet, so if i had a second one i would go with something sour. We also ordered 4 different tacos from the truck and mine were soo freaking good. I had one shredded pork and the other chorizzo - the pork one was the best i've ever had. And if i go back there that's a'll i'm having. Hands down. We sat at the bar, but you also sit in the other area where the taco truck is attached to it. That area is probably better in the summer. Also they have self service for the sides for tacos, i love that, i can steal as much dipping sauce as possible lol. Go there and try that pulled pork taco, i guarantee you will love it. read more

Chilo's - coconut margaritas, a little too sweet, not much alcohol in it - Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I've never been disappointed by anything on the menu. The huitlacoche taco is something I crave - perfect for adventurous mushroom lovers. Fish tacos are another go-to, and a little more filling to round out a meal. I also recommend whatever is on the daily specials. They put a lot of love and magic into their food and the specials are representative of that. Seasonal veggies and perfectly cook meats find their way into amazing selections that makes you wanna write a rave Yelp review. read more

Best tacos in New York. No question. Great atmosphere. No debate. Lovely people. Hands down. read more

Greatest tacos in this city. Excellent staff, quick service, thoughtful weekend specials. There are a variety of sauces for every pain threshold/flavor preference. The drinks are amazing too. Has a very intimate neighborhood feel. You can tell that many of the people that come here are regulars. Families come during the day to eat with their families on the patio, and it's a great place to unwind with a delicious drink in the evening. Prices are exceptionally reasonable for the high quality ingredients used and top notch consistency. The chefs seem genuinely happy to be there. I wouldn't go anywhere else for tacos read more

Nice outdoor area and good tacos from the truck. Perfect for weeknights after work dinner with friends.

Best best best ! Period. For tacos that is!!! Late night or afterwork munchies and I'm here!

Best Torta ever, and paired with a modelo, tecate, or painkiller and you're set. Used to live above this place. So hard to resist.

This place has everything you need! Classic soul music, picnic tables out back, and taco truck that has tacos between $3.50 and 5.00. The chorizo is always delicious and their social beef with eggs and potatoes was SO GOOD. The torta is delicious and my boyfriend thinks they are better than the tacos. The taco truck takes cards -- win/win. Inside the bar area there are frozen drinks that are way too delicious. Great for day drinking and eating -- perfect at night, too. read more

Horrible costumer service, I didnt deal with all the staff there but the 2 people I deal with. very rude. not helpful, and neither nice and they give out a " dont care for the costumer " attitude the chicken taco was blah and the michelada wow worst michelada I have ever had. I often eat at La esquina, oaxaca, tacombi ,calixico ,rosarito shack or some taco truck. all this places have way better tacos and micheladas. Never returning there again! read more

One of my favorite places to get tacos, I wish i only lived closer. Grab a beer at the bar and head to the taco truck in the back, thats where the real action is. All the tacos are phenomenal but the chorizo and pork belly are my personal favs. Everybody working there is chill, so tip well. Back area can get a bit crowded so id always recommend getting there early to snag a table. read more

Such a cozy gem! Tacos are the best and the drink prices are not bad at all. Went during the winter time with my boyfriend and when you go outside, pass the the bar, there are wouldn't picnic tables with heaters above to keep you warm-- so clutch. read more

I like this place a lot but I wish all of the drinks were like, $2 cheaper. It's hard not to feel like I'm getting ripped off every time I come here. C'mon--we're in Bed Stuy!! read more

I hear this place is kind of new, so I don't feel too bad about missing out on a fun taco hangout in my neighborhood. I loved the inexpensive tacos -- $3-6 depending on what's in them, and fillings like carnitas, fish, and even duck -- the "frozé," a dangerously sweet frozen blend of rosé, vodka, and some other stuff, and the space laser light show in the bathroom. The tables outside were nice, but very crowded, and we had to wait a while for a spot to open up -- then they shut down the yard around 11 and we all had to come inside anyway. Throughout the evening the crowd ranged from families with little kids to college students hanging out to us aging hipsters, and it felt like there was room for everyone. read more

Some of the best tacos I've had. Their sauces are on point. Don't care for their frozen margaritas... too sweet

Very overrated. I feel like the customers must be boozed up to enjoy this place. I don't know even know what to say about how awful an experience I had. I came here around 1am. As the menu says on the day I came, it was open til 2am (bar open til later). As I walked into the gates of the food-truck outside area the cook screamed at me to leave and go inside where they would take my order. I was appalled. It took an hour for me to get to the restaurant/bar from not too far away (by bus, as after a long days work at my work I wanted to have a nice, divey experience at a place nearby). We went inside. To my astonishment, the entire place was a mess. Dirty dishes and unclean tables throughout. Only one bartender was present in addition to one barback who wouldn't even stop to answer a question I had about the menu and ordering process. I was utterly confused, as I waited 20+ minutes to order 4 tacos. When my bartender came, she seemed in disarray and not focused. I blame the management, in whole, for not providing a good staff for what has been described as a taco experience that matches the west coast's. I lived in Arizona and spent much time in LA - trust me, this is not a place that even comes to close to my experience there. The tacos themselves - the cactus and huitlacoche ones in particular - were bland, messy, and honestly, the ingredients were scattered all over the place. I basically got 4 tacos which were incomprehensible to distinguish from each other! I only saw a few pieces of corn smut between the four tacos. Wow. To make matters worse, the cook came and threw the tacos in my arms as we received our order. No thank you for coming, no enjoy your meal. Completely unprofessional and I will never visit this place again. And to be honest, the tacos were horrendous. My friend and I left disrespected and starving for something appetizing. read more

I want to give this place a bad review just so it doesn't get overcrowded. But I can't, the food is perfect, the drinks are perfect, the staff is perfect, the atmosphere is perfect. It makes me sad almost because I want it all to myself! Hands down the best tacos I've had outside of SF read more

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet since I work across the street and LOVE this little spot. Every taco or tostada I've tried here was GREAT. The drinks are good too. I especially love the fish tacos and the painkillers. The staff are always helpful and nice. It has a great backyard area by the food truck that's full of you don't get there early enough. read more

Love this place! Tacos are well prepared, the tortillas are perfect in every way always fresh and never rubbery. Filling choices are expertly prepared and authentic. We've tried just about every flavor and always come back to the pork belly and duck. The Bartenders are skillful mixologists who can throw together some mindblowing drink combinations. Always a fun place to hang out. read more

Either the ppl commenting don't know Mexican food, or I'm just from another part of the world! Tacos!?!? Horrible! Service 1/2. Yeah it's laid back but laid back doesn't have to be rude or unwelcoming. Food size, I get it, it's newyork whatever. Quality! Ain't shit. The ONLY good thing about this place were the drinks!! And good drinks will shut ppl up. I asked for a fork lol and the guy at the bar pulls out some tupperware container hidden underneath Some counter thingy, with open plastic forks, not sealed. I tried to have a positive experience but nah! Music was bomb too! That's about it. read more
