My friends iscovered this restaurant the other day. It is kinda hidden in a small strip center on the NW side of Old Denton and Hebron. There is a lot of parking. We were greeted at the door and seated given menus and our drink choices quickly. Seemed to be a family run business but not really sure. Lots of choices I'm not a hot spice lover so appreciated the red peppers next to many of the choices I ordered the pad thai my friend the orange chicken. We were asked what spice level we wanted I chose 1 my friend chose 3-out of 5. Our food arrived quickly he also brought us a absorbent of 4 sauces to put on top if needed it spicier but didn't explain what they were so we didn't use them. My pad thai was very good had quite a bit of chicken in it and was enough that I took part of it home. My friends orange chicken was goid but wasn't as crispy as she expected and said wasn't spicy at all which she was disappointed in. Decided to give this place a try bc I passed by the one in frisco, Tx. My sister stated it was good every time she went. I decided to get my three favorite things. 1. Green Curry 2. Basil fried rice 3. Drunken noodle. All three were very yummy. Their level 3 spicy isn't spicy at all. So if you like a kick, I recommend going up to level 5. Overall I was pretty happy with this place. My normal go to place is further away. So luckily this place is literally 5 minutes up the street. That way when I'm craving Thai I can make a quick run! read more

We are regulars here out of convenience and most dishes are pretty good. However, their consistency is a big issue. Sometimes their food is amazing and other times it is just not good at all. This happens for many dishes we order. The green curry is sometimes watery and tasteless and other times really creamy and flavorful. Same goes for the beef salad, the quality of the beef is never consistent. We tried their chicken lettuce wraps and they were horrible. The chicken was extremely dry, the lettuce was too small, and the sauce did not complement the dish well. Chilli Thai will always be my number 1, go to Thai place. I swear this place has never disappointed me. And it's literally walking distance from my house, which makes it even better. The service here is always great too. This one lady there knows my name personally since I go there so often. Now for the food! The pad Thai here is amazing. I think it's the best pad Thai I've ever had honestly. You can choose your spice level from 1-5. I usually get 3 or 3 and a half and that's usually perfect. If you go during lunch you also get soup and an egg role and it also cheeper! I've also had their basil fried rice and Panag curry. Me & the mister has been coming here since they were located off of old denton. I'm Laotian & familiar with Thai food. I honestly do not like eating at Thai restaurants because usually, their flavoring is more sweet compared to Laotian dishes. I'm from Fort Worth where there are numerous of delicious, hole in the wall & authentic Laos restaurants so here in Carrollton, Thai is the next best thing. But i love it Here at Chilli Thai, I always order the seafood lard na. This time around, I had the beef. Usually the noodle, meat and gravy ratio is great with the seafood but this is my first ordering it with beef. If you enjoy a lot of meat in your dishes, I would stray away because there wasn't that much meat compared to seafood lard na. I definitely don't mind because I actually enjoy the brown gravy and the thick noodles the most! I ordered 3 level spice. I believe I could handle some heat more than others but 3 is actually perfect for me lol The service is always great. I've noticed a couple of new servers since they moved to hebron but the old servers are the best. First visit to the new location merits a fresh review. Long story short, still a solid 4 stars. New location is NW corner of Hebron and Josey, between Just Fitness and a vet, down from Pet Supplies Plus. Still in a strip mall, but a much nicer strip mall. First impressions on walking into new digs: looks great, but... whoa! Smells like ... too much cleaner. When I walk into a hotel room, I want to smell bleach and super-cleanliness. When I walk into a restaurant, I want to smell what's cookin. So... too heavy on the bleach or something, fellas. Fortunately I adjusted quickly and didn't notice after a few min. Takki took great care of us and was later assisted by Aoy (pronounced "Oy") - yes, the same great Aoy at the previous location. :) Great service. Food: same as before. Very good to excellent. My medium cashew chicken was the perfect medium spiciness and delicious. Love that they do brown rice - upcharge of $1.50, fyi. Also, adding shrimp to the vegetable fresh rolls made them cost $7 (I forget what they cost originally). See previous review for more details on food. Only other change from last time: music didn't suck (yay!) and they added a TV (awww). Ambiance is super nice and a TV was NOT needed (with football on, no less - this is NOT a sports bar), but that's just me. Music change was welcome, and it actually cracked us up. It was some sort of 90's hits mix: Spice Girls, Ace of Base, etc. Hilarious - but not awful and obnoxious like last time. It put a smile on both of our faces. Ordered food from Chilli Thai via Uber Eats. The Pad Thai with tofu was fine. I was surprised at the lack of coloring in the drunken noodles. Honestly, it didn't look appetizing and I was starving. The drunken noodles with tofu had good flavor but were a little too oily and the noodles themselves were stuck together. The tofu in both dishes was actually really great. read more

One of the better thai restaurants ive ever been to! Best part is that all of their curries are made without fish sauce yet they are so flavorful!!! Service was good. Decor is great. Good soft music in the background. Food: Massaman curry spice level 3- it was good. Ive definitely had better. Overall good flavor, good spice level and spice rack allowed for spicier customization. Drunken noodles- I would say these were some of the best drunken noodles ibet had! Overall great flavor. Curry fried rice spice level 3, no eggs- this was handsmy favorite dish. It was fantastic! Surprisingly good! I guess I had lower expectation in this small setting that is in the corner of Hebron shopping complex. The atmosphere was clean. Service was good with each server able to provide suggestion based on customer's preference. I ordered panang chicken curry for lunch with a spice level of 5. I used to be a person who couldnt stand for too much coconut scent, but this dish was really good, rich/flavorful/just the spiciness I want (spicier than avg.thai places). Their papaya salad was fresh, crisp, and spicy as well (level 4) Soft shell crab appetizer was fried with light better and didn't smell too fishy. Very crunchy, however the portion was smaller the price as I have been to many thai places before. My friend ordered Massamun Curry with beef and its nutty taste with cashews on top really went well with beef and its curry base. For locals who are looking for spicy thai dishes that are decent, this place is what I would recommend. But again, I usually determine when I come back for another try. read more

We ordered stir fried cashew nut, four seasons stir fried veggies both w/chicken and one Tom ka soup. The stir fried entrees come with steamed rice. Up charge if you want brown or fried rice. I don't find enough excuses to go here often as I'd like but I do love this place. This time, my friend tried the tofu drunken noodles and steamed dumplings. That was good! I tried the samosas, perfectly cooked triangles of potato/sweet potato/onion & curry. Very tasty! But, the best dish so far? Fried red snapper filet with Mom's homemade sweet & spicy garlic sauce. I asked for the sauce on this side, keeping the filet crunchy and it was SO good. The sauce, I could eat by the spoonful, had small chunks of peppers. The rice and veggies to accompany were simply steamed. Chilli Thai is a place that is very vegan friendly and the prices are reasonable if you just want to drop in for a quality meal. We have been here two times over the past few months. Both times the food wss consistently good and fresh tasting. Service was very attentive. Jose who works in the back came out and wanted to ensure my party was taken care of on the service side. This was impressive. He let me take a photo of him. I like restaurants where the staff gets involved with its patrons. That's a good quality to have in a small business. What I liked is the restaurant is two things first, the diverse Thai menu (my party ordered few appetizers and went family style. The second thing I liked is BYOB. If you bring your own wine or alcohol, they bring you wine glasses. My party likes to bring a certain type of wine with their Thai food and they were so cool about it. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. Most courses can be ordered to your desired level. I recommend that you go low on the spiciness level (1-5) if you don't want the heat. One last thing, the Thai peanut sauce is really good. When visiting Dallas, we will definitely keep returning. read more

Yum yum yum. Just moved in up the street, there are lots of Asian and Thai places around us, we went with Chilli Thai as we were just across the street at Kohl's. This is a work favorite. I usually get the drunken chicken and it hasn't failed yet, I get the two spicy which has just enough of a kick. Asian food is my fave and this place measures up when you stay in to eat. However, they lack organization when it comes to table service such as refills, to go boxes or even checking out. So if you have no patience for that, this is the wrong place for you. I recently placed a to go order and was extremely disappointed, I went for the basil chicken which is what most of my co-workers get and it was flavorless and the portions were very very small. There also was a lack of basil.... another person in our party ordered the drunken chicken based on my recommendation and was disappointed as well. Fantastic food! Very nice waitresses! Great place! However, please do not add "gratuity" automatically (forced gratuity = forced "gratitude") on parties of only four people. Tip culture has gotten out of control. Restaurants please pay your own employees and allow customers to tip based on their own ability and according to the service they receive. Adding 18% gratuity is the cost of another meal, and many of us cannot afford that. The restaurant was packed and should be able to make ends meet without forced gratuities. read more

I've been going here for about 2 years. I love the food, the staff are really kind, and the atmosphere is good. I usually get To-go orders on my lunch break but decided to have dinner with a friend on Jan 21st. I remember telling the waitress that there was a weird smell in the restaurant. I believe she said she would tell the manager and we had dinner as planned. I went today to get a to-go order and I smelled that same smell as soon as I opened the door. Im not sure if it was always there or this was a recent thing but I'm going to find a new spot cause the smell reminds me of a bathroom odor and it makes me lose my appetite.
