This place has 3 star food, it's good enough and some items are really tasty. The Thai iced tea is great but a little sweet. The reason this place gets 4 stars is because it's CHEAP. Very cheap for what you get. Come here if you want good food and to save money but don't expect it to rock your world. The outdoor seating looks very pretty and there is a good amount of it. Only one woman works here as a server but she's on top of her game.

Atmosphere is calming. The service was friendly and welcoming. I absolutely love this place. Food is fresh and amazing every time I go.

This restaurant is an incredible place. The service can be slow but it feels fine if you know what you want and order quickly. The staff is friendly and methodical. The food is really spectacular and unique. The tofu is soft unlike every other restaurant out there where the tofu is overly firm and dried out. The seasoning is decent and not hot to the point of being unpleasant like many other restaurants. Overall great place, I am sorry I had not been to this location sooner!

Went to Chill Out Cafe because of a friend's high recommendation! Glad we had the chance to enjoy their great food! As Chinese who grew up in Hong Kong for 15 years, I am always fond of any food that is Asian-related. May it be Japanese, Korean, or Indian cuisine. I tend it enjoy them all. This establishment happened to be a Thai restaurant. We went there to enjoy the mostly classic Thai dishes, like sweet mango rice and green curry etc. If you see my posts, I tend to describe many Asian restaurants as generic. This is far from it. The owner lady actually spent time to decorate the food The proper place settings etc. Inside the restaurant, they made it a very classic yet modern ambience. They helped make my short vacation in Luisiana with some very high quality dining experience. Highly recommended!

Why is a thai restaurant called chill out cafe? Who knows...but i did really enjoy my lunch here. A coworker recommended them to me. Took a group lunch here and was not disappointed. Very small place but our group of 5 was comfortably seated. Nicely decorated. They offer thai for lunch and American breakfast..odd combo but hey its Nola. They do not serve alcohol..bummer. their menu offers tons of delicious options but im a sucker for pad thai so i opted for this with shrimp. Service was a bit slow but my meal was delicious. There is no assigned parking. There is outdoor seating as well. Will definitiely return to try some other options.

Thought that they closed at 9:00 and I called just after 8:30 to place my order and the woman was really nice on the phone. When we got there to pick up, the sign on the front said that they close at 8:30 right now- it was so nice of them to take our order without even mentioning that it was past their posted hours. Yellow fried rice was really flavorful with curry powder, fresh pineapple, shrimp and chicken. Pad see ew (drunken noodles) were also really good- not too sweet. Great customer service, indoor and outdoor dining options and to go, fair prices, and generous portions, try Chill Out the next time you're looking for Thai food

My youngest and I were hunting for lunch on Maple recently and came across Chill Out. First things first - great location. I love this area and I'm a sucker for an old house-turned-restaurant. We were told to sit wherever in the smallish dining room, and so we picked a table and took a seat. The waitress came by pretty soon after to take our order - drinks and all. Our food took a few minutes, but I get it. It was sort of crowded and there was only the one employee on duty outside of the kitchen. Our food finally arrived and here's how it went: We started with the chicken satay and summer rolls. The chicken satay was tasty and the pieces of chicken were large and tender. The Summer rolls were just meh. I had the house salad with grilled chicken. The salad was huge, the chicken was plump and juicy, the dressing was creamy and sweet, everything was very flavorful. Thumbs up. My daughter had the pad Thai. It was good, but unfortunately, not the best pad Thai either of us had tasted. It was a huge portion though. I'm going to give this place 4 stars because there's not a 3.75 option. The food was a solid "good", the service was a solid "very good".

Now open for takeout with exterior tables on their porch for dining, we dropped by the Chill Out Cafe and enjoyed a quick lunch on their front porch while soaking up our great NOLA weather.. Our entrees were the basil chicken and the chicken rotan, which we enjoyed with a Thai tea. This restaurant has always been one of my favorite off the beaten path places to enjoy a nice quite meal and their exterior seating only make the place better.

This is my favorite place to eat that's within walking distance of Tulane! The atmosphere is normally pretty quiet so it is accurately named. The food is always so flavorful and very consistent. I just wish they were on doordash or uber eats!

    The shrimp and broccoli

The shrimp and broccoli, and even the jasmine rice, were flawless and quite tasty. I don't know how they make the sauce but I wish I could replicate it at home. Until that time, I'll keep coming to Chill Out Cafe! The service is fast and friendly as well.

Ginger tofu lunch special. There was egg roll and salad too but I ate them.

I thought we were going to another place when one of my guests suggested Thaihey across the street from the fire station on Decatur. Yes, sure. It's a typical Quarter restaurant with its long gallery seating. We were seated right away. The menu appeared to be heavily vegetarian which was great for my two friends. Many will understand the limited menu options for vegetarians at most places. Wes ordered Tom Kai, Becky the Massaman Jackfruit option and I the one with short rib. It was delicious. It was warm and comforting, full of flavor and the chef made it less spicy for me. What a delight to choose a menu option that I have never had and restaurant that I have never been to. Thai food can sometimes be hit or miss for me, and I'm usually pretty particular about what I order. I don't tend to branch out too much when it comes to Thai food because I already know what I like. Each bite was delicious, and I really enjoyed how well-balanced all the flavors were. It was the kind of meal where you just keep eating and forget you were supposed to take pictures in the first place! The restaurant itself is spacious and has a really beautiful aesthetic. I loved the combination of the artwork and exposed brick walls. Together, they create this rustic, cozy feel that makes the space feel both stylish and inviting. The ordering process is pretty simple. They give you a menu when you arrive, and then you head up to the register to place your order and pay. The food came out surprisingly quickly, which was definitely a plus because I was hungry! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. The food was flavorful, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was quick and easy. I'm glad I decided to give this place a try, and I'd definitely come back to enjoy another meal here.
