We went there to pick up something quick from the Venice location car pickup. We have eaten inside several times and everything was great no complaints. This time we got the triple-dipper appetizer and the burgers were not fully cooked still pink inside, chicken wings were a lil warmer than room temp, and egg rolls were soggy. I ordered Carnitas tacos tasted like it was shoe leather softened up, rice was tasteless, overall warm except the plate it came on was hot. Wife ordered Chicken crisper dinner, fries were barely warm, chicken tuff, corn on cob cold. Have eaten here numerous times this time was the pits. I usually only review with positive comments but not possible this time. Table next to us told waitress his chicken not cooked, she wanted to take it back as per mgr and told him the batter sometimes is a problem. Way to up your game! The last few times we had been, food and service weren't great. Tonight we gave them another try and we were pleasantly surprised. From the minute we entered to the minute we walked out, the service was on point. Our server Tiffany was helpful, attentive and friendly. The manager Jackie came around to all the tables to make sure everything is up to standards. She laughed with our kids and we noted her helping her servers out. My husband, daughter and I went here in a Friday night 11/4/22. The experience was bad from the moment we stepped into the door. The hostess was no where to be found despite the long line and people waiting to be seated. She finally emerged after standing for 5 mins to only strike up a conversation with someone. I had to walk up to her after seeing that she wasn't doing her job and just chatting with a friend to ask if we could be put on a waiting list. She said "oh sure" and took my info. After sitting for 10 mins another family of 3 walked in and sat next to us waiting. Then after about 5 mins the hostess walked up and announced "Table of 3?". The family next to us jumped up and said "That's us!" I had to speak up and tell the hostess that we were there 15 mins before this family so why hadn't we gotten called. She told me "oh that's right, is your name so-so?" I said yes and she proceeded to say we could instead follow her to the table. The dining room wasn't even half full so I have no idea why they had a wait list of 20-25 mins. Empty table everywhere. Besides that, the dining room was so disgustingly filthy, and I mean filthy and I noticed and heard other patrons expressing the same disgust. To top that, we watched the hostess enter the dining room and proceed to "clean" the table with a single, dry napkin. She "cleaned" 4 tables this way using no sanitizer whatsoever and used the same nasty napkin on all 4 tables. She pushed all the garbage on to the bench seats and the floor. Never swept the floor or anything, I wanted to vomit. I told our waiter what all 3 of us saw with our own eyes and his excuse was, "oh she's 15 and we try to hire older people, but I'll tell my manager". WHAT?! At this point it's our own stupid fault for not walking straight out the door. Our food comes and I've lost my appetite but try to eat. All the food tastes like it was frozen and microwaved. Not even hot. My husband's beer was brought to us in hot mugs. My margerita was served in a beer glass. And our salsa was delivered in a to go cup. Overall the WORST experience of my life, and I've had a few. DO NOT go to the Venice, FL Chilis. Total and complete waste of my hard earned $90. read more

Went here this evening . We walked in got immediately seated the waitress introduced herself ordered our drinks she brought them over no problem ... she asked asked us what we wanted to eat . It was repulsive honestly ...we were sitting at a booth and right behind my dads head was a bucket of DIRTY WATER. The waitresses kept ringing dirty towels in and kept cleaning the tables with . There were chunks of hair hanging off the side .. it was disgusting .. I stopped in at the bar and ordered a to go item. The bartender was new, David, and he remembered my name on the second visit. He was so good at his job and had the personality to go with it. I ordered wings with honey chipotle sauce, extra celery and extra blue cheese. I got a gigantic order of chicken and lots of sides. I was very happy with everything. There was too much sauce on the wings, but that's not so awful. All in all I wish I lived closer so I could go and hang at the bar not just get take out for me at the office. I do like the food here, but resent the fact that, like other chain restaurants, they have started using Automated Everything at your table, like a little computer. I hate it with a passion and just cannot get used to it. Why the restaurants do this is beyond me. The waitress has twice the work, trying to explain how everything works, then when that does not go through, she has to go and do it herself anyway, so what's gained???? When she did my friend suddenly decided he didn't want to eat there, apparently he knew the waitress. My sister and I went here for an early dinner. she ordered a sirloin and I got baby back ribs. They were the worst ribs I have ever had. they needed more sauce and they were mainly fat. It was really gross biting into large fat patches. the fries seemed old. my sister said the sirloin was ok but not great. we both agree we will not be going back to chilis for any meal. read more

The Venice, Fl Chilis is the worst in the chain. We weren't happy with the service and there was a boisterous party in the same seating area we were in a year ago when we went there. The food was not bad This time we were even more disappointed. Our waitress took our drink order, returned with our drinks and said she'd be back even though we were ready to order. We were finished with our first beer before I finally was able to flag her down to remind her we hadn't ordered yet. I ordered the chicken fajitas which I have had before. There was a glob of something on top of the chicken. I asked the waitress what it was and she said chipotle butter. I tasted it and told her it was nasty. I should have asked or she should have offered to have it remade. I should have also known the order had been sitting because the fajitas were not sizzling when she brought them to the table. The onions and green peppers were soggy and over cooked. I was able to get a stack of napkins form the work station close to us so I could wipe all the grease/chipotle butter off the chicken. We had to flag our waitress down to ask for check when she finally brought the check I told her those were the worst fajitas I have ever had as they had always been one of my favorites and the chipotle butter ruined it. She said I can request they not put that on. She got a 10% tip. read more
