I've posted this dish before. So consistent and so incredibly good. The Hawaiian fajitas are served with 3 kinda of meat, pineapple, veggies, and sides. Food was excellent I had the Camarones Shrimp with onions mushrooms and cheese with rice and avacado salad which was very tasty wife had the enchilada trio which the ground beef one was good but the shredded beef was so so Her sangria looked and tasted great. The down side was two things the menus were sticky in need of a wiping down. And the service was slow almost non existent. Once the food runner plopped down our meals we didn't see our server until well after we were done. As a matter of fact I was just getting up to ask the hostess to get our bill. Never a how were things or do you need another drink or any follow up and they were only moderately busy. There are too many other Mexican restaurants in the area to go back to this one. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant yesterday. We went with a group of friends and there was no wait (it was just before 5pm). The atmosphere inside is very authentic and has a great Mexican cantina vibe. The food was good. I had the tacos Al pastor, they didn't have pineapple like I am used to having but they are still very good. The appetizer (I cannot remember the name! With the meat and cheese is DELICIOUS.) But, probably the best part is the $12 margarita that is seriously the size of your head. Best margarita deal in town! Having moved to Venice from the western US where Mexican food is much more prevalent than here, we felt a need to explore the local Mexican food options. Having been to plaza Mexico two times, I feel comfortable writing this commentary for my Yelp viewers. Pulling in for dinner,they have a freestanding building that's convenientlylocated on the 41 with plenty of easy access offstreet parking. They have outdoor seating with TVs, and cozy bar when you enter the building, and comfortable Mexican decor, plus you can watch sports on TV inside or outside. Happy hour ends at 6:00, so get there a little bit early to take advantage of their house margaritas. Tasty with a decent amount of alcohol , that will help set the tone for your meal. Chips and salsa are plentiful, we upgraded to the tableside guacamole preparation. Have it your way, they will tuneup your guacamole just the way you want it, heat, cilantro, lime, whatever. It's terrific guacamole; however, the bowl of guacamole is $9 plus the cook that prepares the guac is looking for a tip as well. One might consider the guacamole preparation sort of gimmicky and overpriced. For my main dish I ordered a chili Verde burrito with rice and beans. The beef in the burrito was steak and the seasonings were delightful. This was much better than shredded beef or ground beef served by many competitors. Nicely done...Flavorful and a large portion, I was totally satisfied. Table service was prompt and our server seemed very willing to work with us, making recommendations and certainly, there to please us. I think the last line of my review will sum it up. The food was very tasty! I had the Chori Pollo and my Husband had the Burrito Kinverlin. Both tasted great and were very filling. We got the table side guacamole which was very good. Best Mexican restaurant around. We are so picky and this is our 2nd visit here and no complaints. They were extremely accommodating to all of our special requests. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. Everything was full of flavor and delicious. Huge portions! My husband ordered the Hawaiian Fajitas and that was the highlight of the meal. This is the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been too. I recommend it to all my friends and family. I get the burritos supreme ever time I order and it's fantastic!!!! The table side guac is a must. I usually order take out but I've dined in once and the service was great. We had about 3 people other than our server come to our table and ask how we were doing. And on top of that our server was sweet and friendly. Love this place! read more

We live in South Venice. We have to drive past 3 Mexican restaurants to get to Plazza Mexico. It has always proven to be worth the drive. NOT TONIGHT. Everything was bad (except the drinks). Chips & Salsa -- NO flavor. At least make the standard salsa a little spicy. No taste at all. We asked for more spice and were given a nice spice to mix with the standard sauce. We ordered chicken fajitas for 2. The food came -- we had no plates and had to ask the server as she was hurting past. No spoon to serve the refried beans and guacamole. The fajitas were terrible. Over cooked by a factor of 2. And, no spoon or whatever to serve the stuff. I took half of it home and, will probably put in the garbage. The service was marginal at best. Just a bad night at Plazza Mexico. read more

Good food! We had not been to Plaza Mexico for some time due to Covid. Our return was to the same great food and excellent service. We had chicken taco salad and a chicken appetizer that was excellent! The sauce was just the right amount of spice and a complex flavor. The restaurant was clean. We will be back! read more

Why is this restaurant not rated five solid stars? I'm baffled! We are from Ohio visiting friends and this is one of the best Mexican restaurants we've ever been to. From the freshly prepared table side guacamole, to the monster margaritas, and everything in between - DELICIOUS! We especially enjoyed the carnitas quesadillas, the chili relleno, and the tamales. The pork in the carnitas was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The chili relleno are not breaded and fried like many mexican restaurants. So fresh and yummy. I've never ordered tamales so I can't compare to other restaurants, but our friends order them regularly and said they are better here than anywhere. I agree they were so good! We're only here for a week and going back tonight for our second visit. Can't wait! read more

Upon arrival the table and chairs were dirty and had food from the previous customers on the table. There were flies buzzing around our food during the whole meal as well. I'm not a avid diner of Mexican food, but in the last year, I have seen myself eat it more and more. Some places were good and other not so good. The food here was in between. I think each of us had some minor issues with our food. None of us ate all of our meals. I know my sister's chicken was quite dry. My dad loves Mexican food and he barely ate half his meal. My girlfriend's taco bowl looked like it was fried in old oil. I used to work in restaurants and have personally done these bowls myself. Anyway, I would go ldnt say the place was bad, but we probably wont return time soon. read more

Delicious flavorful food. I ordered the chipotle enchiladas which were delicious but not spicy enough for my taste. The waitress brought some of the homemade hot sauce and it was divine - and so spicy. Suddenly everything was brought to the next level. The shots and mixed drinks look amazing but I went with my family so stuck to Corona - which was still pretty tasty. The table side guacamole was fresh and delicious and can be modified to your taste. The first basket of chips we had was just ok but the second basket was hot and delicious. Hi, first time here. Nice decor and plenty of booths. I moved here from LA and was spoiled with authentic Mexican food. I had the crispy beef tacos to play it safe. Taco meat was tad bland but the super hot salsa did the trick. Very good. Our server was Litzy, very sweet and attentive. I will be back to try fajitas and more. Everyone wore masks and safe.
