coming for lunch on FIFA Final Sunday, my seat came from how the host pulled up a chair to the very end corner of the bar by the waist bin and the kitchen, and told me my seat was ready, even though nobody cleared away the dirty dirty DIRTY bar mat. every single other place sitting at the table didn't have to worry about that... And then the server after server, a dozen people in total, including the assistant manager, didn't see anything wrong with that. The general manager who upon my entry told me a table would be ready for me, but then shifted it to a host who made the bar ready, he clearly saw nothing wrong with that or else he wouldn't have allowed his host to see me there. The assistant manager female, who came up to me and asked,is there anything I can get for you", also was in the wrong because she shouldn't have had to ask me a damn thing, she should've walked up and said "oh my God I'm SO SORRY Nobody cleared this away for you! " and cleared away the dirty dish mat without me saying a word. But it took me having to say something. So a year and a half of ordering takeout, paying 10 bucks to go out dancing, this lunch is the last $ I'll spend here, because the FIRST and ONLY time I've ever sat with them in person during the daytime, THE WHOLE STAFF thinks it's cool to put La Morena in front of the dirty bar mat and the trash can. read more

Unfortunately, the pork chops were extremely disappointing--they came out rock-hard and completely devoid of seasoning or taste. They genuinely seemed like they were taken straight from the package and dropped into the fryer with zero prep, no marinade, no breading enhancement, nothing. The texture was so tough it was almost inedible, and there was no juiciness or pork flavor to speak of at all. The server was genuinely apologetic and handled the situation with professionalism, which I appreciated. The owner did come over, looked at the plate, said "oh wow," and then comped half the price of the dish. While the discount was a gesture, it felt more like a quick fix than a real effort to make things right--especially since the food was fundamentally flawed from the start. If you're searching for authentic, well-executed Spanish or Latin-inspired food (especially something as straightforward as fried pork chops), this place doesn't deliver. The execution here falls far short of what you'd expect from a restaurant charging for these kinds of dishes. With better attention to seasoning, proper frying technique, and perhaps a bit more care in portion prep, this could be salvageable--but right now, I'd steer clear of the pork chop entrée specifically. Our first visit to LQ On Main, I enjoyed the camarones a la criolla mofongo. (warning: it's enough mofongo for a family). My husband had grilled swordfish, a side of arroz con gandules and delicious maduros. Upon being served our wine and beer we were brought a plate of fresh plantain chips and before our entrees arrived we were served cups of savory chicken noodle soup that took me back to my Puerto Rican abuelos' kitchen. We returned last night and I had the fried snapper, white rice and salad. We also got the most perfectly fried tostones. Be sure to request mojo to take it to the next level. Hubby had the bistec empanizado, arroz con gandules and maduros. So much food we had no room for dessert but what was most impressive was that the manager Darcy, returned a hundred dollar bill to us that we mistakenly mixed into the tip. To top it off, when we left, Darcy ran after us to return a packet we dropped that held an ID and cash. And for the record we were not intoxicated. Avoid this place. The food tastes bad and isn't remotely close to authentic Caribbean cuisine. I grew up in Puerto Rico and ate this kind of food daily for 25 years of my life before moving to Florida. I felt shocked they have the audacity to serve this food to paying guests. I'm even more shocked that I paid my bill because I was so disgusted I really wanted to get up and walk out. I've been told that their location off Beneva road is better and I am willing to give that location a try. We went to LQ off of a recommendation from a family friend. Mofongo is one of my favorite dishes and I was really looking forward to it. We entered and were immediately greeted by the hostess/manager and seated in the bar area. Our server came over about 5 minutes later and took our drink/appetizer order. Although we were sitting in the bar area, it took about 15 minutes to get 2 bottles of beer and 2 Mojitos in an unpacked restaurant. The waiter realized the timely wait and apologized when he returned. The one thing that was weird was that one of the gentlemen setting up for the live music actually stopped to hit on one of our female guests. After about 5 minutes the manager actually came over to him and laughingly said please stop harassing my guests. The arrival of the food was my favorite. I had Lechon Mofongo (pork) and it was delicious!! It was everything I expected it to be. The pork chops were a little over cooked probably because they were so thin. The Churasco Mofongo was good but the meat itself wasn't very tasty. The mixed drinks were well worth the price. Very well made with plenty of alcohol. By the time we left, all of the tables were packed to include the bar. I look forward to going again in a few months. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We were the only table in the entire restaurant, and still the service was practically nonexistent. The waitress never checked on us, and when we finally got our food and drinks, everything was a disappointment. The drinks were bad, the food was worse. The rice tasted old and stale, the steak was overcooked and dry, and the chicken was chewy and low quality. We both felt sick after eating--which is unacceptable for any restaurant. I expressed my concerns to the waitress politely, and instead of acknowledging anything, she was defensive and rude. No accountability, no apology--just excuses. The manager did come out to apologize, which I appreciated, but honestly, that felt like the bare minimum. I was shocked they didn't offer to take even one entrée off the bill after how bad everything was. This place was great. The Pasteles were really authentic, the red beans tasted like made in the country, and the mofongo was out of this world. We ordered el Plato Típico de Navidad (a HUGE plate suitable for sharing) and a mofongo with pork. We also ordered a churrasco with rice , beans and yuca frita. For appetizers we ordered a bacalaito, alcapurria de masa y alcapurria de yuca. All three were really good. We ordered a coconut mojito that was delicious!!! The only thing we weren't crazy about was the key lime pie (served us right-who orders key lime pie at a Puerto Rican restaurant?!) My friend and I came here for a late lunch on a Sunday, found parking almost right in front of the restaurant. Did not have to feed the meter, it was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside. The tables have umbrellas which helps if it's sunny. Our server Emiliano was very attentive, quick, funny and helpful with helping us decide what we should order. I had the ground beef picadillo with arroz con gandules, yuca and tostones. Super good and filling, took home some leftovers. My friend had the Churrasco, arroz con gandules, fried yuca and maduros, with a glass of red sangria. Thought it was flavorful, however it was a bit small compared to other churrascos we've had in the past. There's a lot of sitting area inside, along the bar and even noticed that on certain days they have live entertainment which would be nice. The restroom was decent size, and very clean. I will definitely come back because you can definitely taste the puerto rican flavor in their food and that's hard to come by in this area! read more

I would highly recommend this restaurant for the food. The service was OK except we came during happy hour and got a couple specials off of the happy hour menu when my bill came instead of my drink being six dollars it was $13. What the waitress said was that was not considered part of the happy hour, even though it was included with a happy hour offerings. I've been in the restaurant industry for many many years and the one thing you never want a customer to do is leave is on a bad note. When I brought it up to the waitress, she never even offered to make any kind of accommodation. I brought a group of nine people in all of which really enjoyed their food, but after bringing up to the waitress the error on my check, everyone was really unhappy and appalled at the way it was handled. We moved from Miami to this area in 2016 and, since my hubby and I are from Cuba/Puerto Rico, we're always looking for restaurants that offer authentic food/dishes that bring us back home. Unfortunately, LQ Restaurant on Main missed the mark in food quality, poor service and authenticity was not there. You could heard the screaming from the kitchen into the dining area too. The staff didn't offer much help either. Perhaps they are too new and still working out the kinks, only time and honest reviews will tell. I know it's not our servers fault but that was the WORST dining experience. And now we have ordered pizza down the street because after waiting more than an hour and 15 for our 2 dishes ordered. One plate arrived and the other was nowhere to be seen. We were a party of 3 and bringing 1 dish without extra plates even was unacceptable. For all airline industry people...this is your spot I was stuck in Sarasota due to work and this restaurant was definitely a highlight. I was looking for a flavorful meal and welcoming ambiance and LQ did not disappoint. Not only was my lemon drop martini made extremely well (and well needed) but the chicken mofongo entree was AMAZING! The waitress told me it would be a lot of food but I underestimated due to food portions being so small in restaurants all over. Boy was I IMPRESSED!
