I used to go to Chili's with my parents after we were done working at their restaurant because it was one of the only restaurants that stayed open late in NJ where I grew up. I remember it being kind of cute and homey inside, this one is pretty bare bones & doesn't have much of an ambiance. It's giving "we believe in simple surfaces that are easy to clean"! M. & I stopped in today because we were hungry after a beach yoga class & many other restos were already closed. The dining room & bar area was popping & the World Series was on the tv. We sat at a high top table in the bar area. Every other table & most of the bar was filled with people. Our waitress came over & took our drink orders. Then she came back momentarily & took our order. M. got the three for me with the burger & chicken enchilada soup. I ordered the chicken chipotle bowl. The soup came out first. Then the drinks (water & Arnold Palmer) & then the food. Very fast & efficient service! The food was fine. Generous portions. My bowl was lukewarm & looked like it was slapped together by a middle schooler, but it was tasty enough. Lots of sodium though...I could taste it in my food. If I got it again, I'd ask for all the sauces on the side. Our check was only $31 total though & that's a decent deal. We checked out with the little computer kiosk on the table so we didn't have to wait. All in all, it wasn't a bad budge & in a pinch, it'll definitely do. Plenty of parking in the adjacent lot. After a day at the beach we stopped by Chili's. Literally my third time at a Chili's and it was really good. I ordered a smash burger and fries. Fries were too salty so they gave me a new batch and they were amazing with the burger sauce to dip them in. Highly recommend. "Salad" was three limp lettuce leaves, a carrot strip and three croutons. It's a grim day when you spend $10.99 and feel completely cheated. As a longtime customer, I have tried to give Chilis the benefit of the doubt, but the erosion of food quality over the past few years has been brutal. I don't know where you can get a cocktail for less than $10 anymore, so that in itself is amazing. For the triple dipper, you can choose 3 items, and I just want to say the mozzarella sticks were probably the best I ever had in my life (to be fair, I haven't had that many before though). For the fajita plate, we were going to order steak, but the waitress warned us that the meat would be tough and well done, but some people like it like that (not sure who, but glad she warned us), so we picked the chicken and shrimp. The fajitas were meh. This meal came out more expensive than we expected, around $40/person. If you come to chili's, the $6 margarita and mozzarella sticks are where its at. read more
