The new Flock #2 combo. 6 white meat chicken sandwiches and fries. I requested the slaw on the side. Baby buns are cute and slightly sweet.
Shay M.

If I was a chicken, destined for that big ol' farm in the sky, this is how I'd go out. Cuz ain't no way I'm ending up on that discount rack at the local Food 4 Less...let's gooo! I've been screaming their praises from the rafters for years now, but some of y'all still ain't hearing me. Main Chick is my main chick, and we're cuffed up like the pants on a Gen Z'er. The chicken tenders are fat, always fresh, virtually always juicy, and seasoned like a 20 year veteran. The crinkle cut fries are beautifully crisp and heavenly dusted with that sweet and spicy goodness. The ranch and MC sauces are bangin' to boot. You can't execute all of that meticulous perfection without the care and attention of the staff, so my extreme appreciation goes out to each and every one of them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and my belly. See you this afternoon friends! For those of you keeping score, yes that's twice this week. Don't judge.

Sad chicken sandwich

My chicken sandwhich was a chicken tender. Overall the price does not match the quality, the extra charges for (pickles, ranch) make it even less desirable. Combo doesn't include a drink The chicken tenders were alright, but they did not come with a sauce cup. A little cup of ranch was $1.07 more. 2nd meal was a Combo 1 spicy, which is a white meat chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickles, a chicken tender, and fries. And the same tube of sauce for the chicken tender sandwhich... $15.99. FYI this is a combo that does not include a drink, had I know that I would have gotten the dark meat chicken sandwhich. As a drink is $3, so it would make a combo 1 with a drink just about $20 with tax. Absolutely not worth it. It had some spice and not much flavor. Why they used a chicken strip and not the chicken portion listed was quite odd. But they did add a 2nd tender. I was not impressed with the 3 tenders and little bun that I had. The fries were a decent portion but over seasoned. Both ordered slaw on the side and extra pickles. That turned into 1 side of pickles for $0.99. The quality of food did not match the price. It lacked flavor and just not something I'd get again. The cashier was on her phone the entire time I was there often while customers waited for her attention. Also the tables are all dirty and the trash was overflowing when entering the building not a good look . Definitely will not be returning there is better places

Main Chick has never not hit the spot, such a perfect hot chicken tender and sauce that goes with everything. The portions are large too but needs more sauce. Hella better than dave's no hate, linda vista branch always delivers

Combo 2

Checking out this chicken place near USD. The order taking was so slow. I was second in line but took almost 10 minutes to get my order. I ordered combo 1 (Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Tender) and Combo 2 (all Chicken Tenders) all naked, not spicy. Food is for, chicken tenders were juicy and big sizes and the MC sauce matched well with the chicken. I would have given this experience a 4 star but the order taking was really bad and slow.

Mac & Cheese
Julie G.

Pretty decent deals on Uber Eats so decided to try . The sides are great size and the Mac cheese is definitely cheesy. The sandwiches were spicy and decent size for me and my hubby who don't eat a lot . The fries were well seasoned but seemed dry . Not sure if I'd order again .

Supreme up close and personal

Went here for some spicy chicken to go and boy was I not disappointed. The supreme spice level is definitely not to be toyed around with took 3 tenders to the dome and suffered the sweet spicy consequences of my life choices the next few hours. If you are not a spice lord steer clear, if you do like your food spicy and need that next level fix try this out. I personally would probably cap out at spicy and just chill the rest of the day next time lol. Fries were straight and sauce was not bad. The chicken tenders themselves were very good crunchy, juicy, well made. Maybe just get one of your three tenders supreme level if you decide to sign the waiver and spice your day away.

Combo #1
Zo S.

Best Nashville Hot Chicken in town! I ordered the #1 combo with the Spicy Sandwich, and Extreme heat on the tender. The tender was quite spicy and required a waiver but wasn't that bad! Flavor was absolutely incredible. Perfect balance of heat and flavor. Fries were great too

Hair in my chicken sandwich box...yuck
Nat W.

This place could have been awesome! First their fries are delicious. And my picky 3 year old ate their mac n' cheese. I picked mild for the chicken sandwich for my husband....way too spicy for him....should have ordered no spice. And also there was hair in the box :( I ordered medium for my chicken strips and again, I should have ordered mild. The spice level is way off here. The chicken itself and the side menus are good. So if they fix the description of the spice levels and be mindful with the safety and hygeine, this place could be aweaome.

Combo 6 - 2 Dark Meat Sandwiches, Fries
Kyle I.

If you're searching for the best hot chicken in San Diego, look no further than Main Chick. I've tried them all: Dave's Hot Chicken, Cross Street, Red Chick's--and nothing even comes close to Main Chick! The number 6 combo is my go-to every time. What sets Main Chick apart is their use of dark meat in their sandwiches. Most places only offer white meat, but Main Chick gives you the option to enjoy that juicier, more flavorful dark meat, and it's an absolute game-changer. The fries are seasoned to perfection, and their sauce strikes the perfect balance between sweet and spicy. It pairs flawlessly with both the sandwich and the fries. I usually go for the medium spice level, and it packs just the right amount of heat, while my wife prefers the mild, which still has a good kick to it. Honestly, I'd give Main Chick 10 stars if I could. It's hands down my favorite hot chicken spot ever, and once you try it, you'll understand why.

Dark meat chicken sandwich
Nolita N.

I have only been here 2x, once when they first opened for their grand opening and recently just because my little sister and I were craving chicken sandwiches. The lady taking our order was so sweet, she helped us make our order and even offered us some water while we waited. What we got: - Combo # 6 which came with 2 dark meat chicken sandwiches, seasoned crinkle cut fries, and 1 MC sauce The chicken sandwiches were really delicious, there was a pickle flavor, but it wasn't overpowering and the coleslaw helped balance the heat from the chicken which was both juicy and flavorful. The MC sauce elevated the sandwich as well. I do wish that they gave 2 of the sauces since there are 2 sandwiches and fries in the combo. The fries: seasoned, crispy, crinkle cut, and delicious! - Side of Mac and cheese: this to me was good, but not great. The cheese is on the light side as far as flavor, which isn't a bad thing, I just think it was slightly bland. My little sister on the other hand, literally scraped the entire container lol.

We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and it was blazing hot in there. I don't know if their AC was broken or what but it made it very uncomfortable to even wait inside. They at least could have propped the door open. On top of this, we asked for a water cup. The girl told us that they "ran out" while we were staring at the cups they have for soft drinks near the cash register. The least she could have done was given us that cup. Don't worry, we're not going to drink soda. We just wanted water. I have never been to a place that rejected water to people. Water is supposed to be free, its human decency to provide water for guests especially in a place like this. I noticed in the back they have water bottles that you have to pay for an additional charge. This made me think they purposely tell people that they ran out of water cups but in reality they just want you to buy the water bottles. Because of this I don't think I want to come back and "dine in". It's only worth it if you get to-go. The space was also really small with limited tables. The chicken sandwiches weren't bad but I prefer Hot Chickz on Camino Del Rio as it's more flavorful.

We were in the area looking for a brunch spot and striking out, and everyone was getting to the "we…read moreneed food NOW" stage, so we ended up at Common Stock. When we sat down, we were a little surprised that the brunch menu was pretty limited compared to the photos that originally caught our attention. I'm guessing those were from the dinner menu. Our server was actually so great about it--he told us to take our time looking it over and that if we weren't excited about anything, we were welcome to leave and he wouldn't take it personally. That honestly won us over. Even our kids were impressed by how straightforward and nice he was and decided we should stay. And I'm glad we did. The Crispy Brussels were delicious--seriously, one of the highlights. My daughter loved the Strawberry Shortcake French Toast. My son liked the Japanese Potato Hash, although he wished there was another way to add more protein besides bacon. I had the Hot Chicken + Waffle and really enjoyed it, and my husband had the Nashville Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The food took a little longer than expected, but the service more than made up for it. Our server was genuinely kind, honest, and attentive, which can make such a difference. We came in mostly because we were hungry and running out of options, but left really happy we gave Common Stock a chance. Great food and, more importantly, really great service.

Our server was friendly and answered our questions, we had no complaints there. However the menu was very limited and the food was okay. We may have had to do more research but it didn't seem very family or kid friendly (menu wise). We ended up getting the pizza rolls, rotisserie chicken, crispy Brussels and chicken sandwich. The pizza rolls I was picturing something like a Totino's pizza roll or a savory cinnamon roll, so I asked about it and our server described it similar to an "empanada". It ended up being closer to a wonton than anything. It wasn't bad but was fairly oily. Wouldn't order again. The rotisserie chicken was really good and I liked the sauce it came with. The chicken was pretty tender as well. The chicken sandwich was okay. There was a lot of mayo/creamy sauce. Combined with the fried chicken it felt a bit heavy. The bun was really good though. We really liked the Brussels sprouts. It has a great citrusy taste and was cooked well.

We started with Hamachi Coctel, because the waiter described it as 'a deconstructed shrimp cocktail...without shrimp'. Ok great hook. Also you had me at 'house made Clamato and habenero gel'. This dish is everything it promises to be. Clean, slightly smokey, a little heat, plus a lot of craft. Onto crab fried rice. Not sure there was crab in the crab fried rice, but there was lovely little chunks of lobster and the lemon grass emulsion just pushes everything to happy. A rich, indulgent choice. (Make it and don't look back). Not to bore you with all the stuff we loved, but this is a level of food that is engaging, exciting, extremely satisfying. Yes, some might complain the price is high. The portions aren't big. But like all the best pleasures, that's a good thing. Seriously. Try everything. We will be back to.

Working her magic to get a table for eight inside on a Sunday morning is no small feat, and her energy from the moment we arrived until we left was contagious. She really set the tone for what should have been a great experience. The food was just as flavorful and delicious as I remembered. A few of us ordered the salmon toast, and sadly the toast itself was hard. The flavors were there, and nobody was really complaining too much because there wasn't a crumb left behind. On the flip side, the service was where things fell short. I'm not sure if we had a newer server, but this experience wasn't what I'd come to expect from Trust. We were on a 90 minute time limit, so naturally, we expected things to move along at a reasonable pace, not quite how it played out. It took over 30 minutes before our orders were even taken, drinks took a while to arrive each time we ordered, and while the food came out quickly once we finally placed our order, getting the check and closing out took much longer than it should have. There were also a few errors on the bill, which can happen, but the kicker was when our server accidentally spilled an entire cocktail on the table and somehow we ended up being charged for an extra one. Not exactly the kind of surprise you want at the end of brunch. I'll still come back for the food, and the hostess deserves a shoutout for going above and beyond. But this visit was a reminder that great food only gets you so far when the service doesn't quite keep up.

There is a "happy hour" on Monday but it's called Ouster Monday, oysters are $1 and they have different specials that are not offered on the normal happy hour. Got the crispy chicken wings, Wagyu longaniza, and burger The chicken wings were very crispy and came topped with a jalapeño relish. The relish had a citrusy taste to it or maybe it was the liquid from the pickled jalapeños. I liked the crispness of the chicken but I think the relish was too acidic for me. The Wagyu longaniza was my favorite, very strong beefy flavor. It came on top of salsa matcha which i thought was very tasty so much that I dipped the wings and burger in the sauce. The slice of radish on top gave it a nice texture and crunch. I see the Wagyu hotdog is offered on the oyster Monday special so I'm gonna have to come back and try that for sure. The burger was cooked nicely, medium as requested. It came topped with an egg, truffled onion jam, and cheddar cheese. The bun was nicely toasted and the egg and cheese added a nice rich element to it but I didn't care for the onion jam, it gave the burger an overall sweet profile. I'd simply ask for it without next time. Over all a solid burger, maybe I'd add bacon too. I also had a margarita which was on happy hour special. I asked for it to be spicy and they added a tajin rim which was nice. Spicy and refreshing! Parking is all on the street so I had to part a few blocks away. Overall a solid happy hour.
