The staff was welcoming and friendly. We decided to stop at the bar for from appetizers and drinks. We decided for the clam chowder and sourdough bread. The chowder was delicious but the sourdough bread was warm and cheese was perfectly melted within the bread. The ambiance was nice and quiet because we went on an off time. We were able to chat with the staff longer and learn about the area. We will definitely be back for some more bread.

I wish I took pictures of the food bc every single thing we ate was just delicious. They were able to accommodate our party of 13. The space is amazing and even reserved a fire pit for us afterwards for drinks. While the menu is limited trust me it's delicious and worth every bite. Service was also fast and friendly.

This is an overpriced restaurant. You're paying for a lovely view of the bay, but you could get the same view from the railing outside. We were disappointed that we reserved a table when no one else was in the restaurant. It was happy hour, but we were not allowed to have happy hour prices since we had a seat within the restaurant. We would've had to go outside to have the happy hour cocktails we couldn't even go outside get the cocktails and then bring them to our table. Absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary! Our server was nice. The food was average. The menu is not very interesting. The view was lovely. Overall, I don't recommend it, honestly. I had the salmon. It was a three out of five. My husband had the ribeye steak. It was very overpriced and just average. We had a beet salad. It had several ingredients, but somehow it was flavorless. We did enjoy the brussels sprouts.

3rd time here. Party of 6 on a Friday 8:30am. It's New years week. They are full. Service is slow and inattentive. Perhaps we are a big party? We sat almost an hour before the waiter checked on our ticket. Everyone else has eaten and left. If it weren't for the fact that our breakfast is included in our stay, I would've walked out. The food: I got the avocado toast. The dish can out with a tower of arugula. I pushed it out looking for my avocado. It was guacamole spread on toast and not a whole lot of it. I think most of the food was rushed because we had waited so long. I asked to speak to the manager after my meal. She did apologize. She offered to remove my dish but I told her breakfast was included in my stay. She tried to make it right. If breakfast wasn't included in my stay, I would not eat here. The prices are high and so not match the portion or quality of the food

Came for happy hour because we had a boat excursion around the corner and was an easy find. Regular menu is pricey but happy hour was easy and great.

The food was excellent! We arrived around 530 with our reservation. We asked the hostess if we could start with happy hour at the bar first and then head to a table for dinner. She seemed kinda confused about it and asked the manager. He said we could sit outside if we would like and we could have happy hour and our dinner as well. It was a beautiful night out, so we said yes. The manager then served us the whole time. Service was very friendly and the food was very good. We ordered the wings and the cheesy sourdough bread as appetizers. For our meal, we both ordered the filet and the loaded mashed potatoes. The flavors were excellent and cooked perfect. Wine was nice and cold and view was wonderful!

Good experience overall. I ordered the swordfish and an Old Fashioned--both were really good. The only downside was the food took quite a while to come out. If service was a bit faster it would've been a great visit.

Good food if you have the time to wait. My husband enjoyed the swordfish and daughter loved her Mac and cheese! Restaurant was clean with a great view of the water.

Had an amazing dinner here with my family. The food is delicious and service is great with a beautiful view of the bay. This place is hidden behind hotel but worth it. The kids enjoyed their tenders, we enjoyed the crispy calamari and my well prepared steak. Yummmmm...

We had brunch at Red Marlin since we were staying at Hyatt in Mission Bay. Unfortunately for us, it was a busy weekend so the wait time to be seated was nearly an hour. Our server was so friendly and helpful, and he let us know that the food comes out really fast which accounts for the long wait for tables. He was right! After ordering, our food was served within minutes. I ordered the eggs benedict and they were so delicious! The only downfall was one of my poached eggs was overcooked and didn't have runny yolk. Besides that everything else was great! The breakfast potatoes were my favorite, cooked and seasoned perfectly. My family also ordered the avocado toast, and it was loaded with creamy avocado, tomato, poached eggs, served with heaps of arugula salad. At least both of the poached eggs on the avocado toast were cooked just right. Red Marlin is a great casual, family-friendly breakfast spot when you're in the Mission Bay area.

Wolf in the Woods - Sweet Corn & Piñon Soup (100% -- the famous one)

So many good things to say about this restaurant. First, we weren't sure what to order (soup is a…read moreMUST) so we got one of everything tapas as a group of four and were very happy. The waiter was patient and led us through what my father could and couldn't eat with his allergies. My 11 year old loved the mini burger. Presentation was excellent. They were nice enough to serve everything on the side for her. She loved the fresh crisped rosemary potato chips on the side. Some standouts from tapas menu are patatas bravas with crispy cheese covered potatoes with two dipping sauces (aioli and spicy) and of course the award winning soup earned its place in the menu. Waitstaff and service are outstanding. Plenty of menu options. Wine list is great and they led us to pick a lovely bottle. Definitely a fine dining option that was a great choice for my dad to try food better than he can get at home, as he requested. (Father approved. We had already visited outstanding restaurants like Muzita and Buona Forchetta). Adding Wolf in the Woods to my impress the guests list.

I'll start with the service. 10/10 Everyone who we…read moreencountered was very nice and treated us like we were the most important people in the restaurant. Which, I am sure they do for everyone. Which is why the consistency and dedication to their service is so commendable. Top tier from the host, our waiter and some sweet lady wearing nice clothes who spoke with us and provided us with refills. Focaccia Bread - 8.6 Good, hot and fresh. It could have used more herbs and texture on the outside. The bread was good quality and tasted as such. The star though is the balsamic vinegar that it comes with. The balsamic is delicious and tasted like it was high quality. Seared Beef Filet Tataki - 9.2 I haven't had many chilled beef dishes however, this is the best one. The beef was very tender and flavorful. It was cooked to a medium/medium rare. The soy jus the beef was sitting in was really flavorful and delicious. The seasonal citrus was also fresh and very delicious. I would encourage anyone to try this dish at Wolf, especially if you want to try something chilled that typically is served hot. Sweet Corn Soup - 9.9 Yes, a 9.9. I'm not sure soup can get much better. Every aspect and component of this dish is excellent. The depth of the flavor of the corn, the texture and items which accompany the soup are all great. The corn fritters are moist, flavorful and soak up some of the soup. The chile dust adds great seasoning and flavor while the pine nuts add texture. If I were to rank the best 25 bites of good or dishes I ever had, this would probably be top 10-15. Even if you aren't a fan of corn, get this, it'll change your mind. Kolibri Salad - 8.9 The salad contained blue cheese, dried apricots, shaved multicolored carrots, bread crumbs and a mustard vinaigrette. All of the aspects of the salad were very good and played off one another very well. I always say the best salad contain a creamy cheese, fresh fruit (not blueberries or strawberries), nuts and a good vinaigrette. The blue cheese was really creamy and probably the best blue cheese we have had. The mustard vinaigrette was good and paired well with all of the ingredients. Patatas Bravas - 8.2 The potatoes were good but not great. The potatoes were tender but too big imo. If they were cut into smaller pieces they would have better texture post cook. The aioli served with the potatoes was really, really good. I wish I had a jar of it. Skillet Mini Burger - 8.8 You could tell the beef was very high quality and it was cooked to a perfect medium. The beef was very flavorful and juicy. The hatch chile crema was delicious as well. If I had one bad thing to say about this burger it would be that it was hatch chile overload. If the burger just contained the hatch chile crema it would have been perfect. However, they also put cooked down hatch chiles on the burger. It was a bit too much chile and I wanted the beef and white cheddar to shine a little bit more.

I used to walk here years ago when I lived just up the street, so it's always nice to return to an old favorite. Met up with a colleague for a late lunch and decided on their Jackpot Burger, but with a few modifications. I ordered it bunless, with a 1/3-pound beef patty, fried egg, smashed avocado, bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and red onion. Normally it comes with blue cheese, which I absolutely cannot stand, so I happily had them leave that off! I also substituted a side salad for the fries. Delicious, satisfying, and a great way to enjoy a burger without all the extra carbs! Service was fantastic! The music was great and played at just the right volume to enjoy without having to shout across the table. Something more establishments should figure out...! They make excellent cocktails here, but since I still had work to do, I stuck with their delicious, refreshing iced tea. Sometimes being responsible is terribly inconvenient...! LOL! The menu has plenty of appealing options, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and there's a steady stream of neighborhood regulars coming through throughout the day and evening. It's got that authentic local pub vibe that you just can't manufacture. Great food, excellent service, good tunes, and a cool neighborhood atmosphere. Whether you're a Point Loma local or just visiting the area, Harbor Town Pub is absolutely worth stopping into! I'll certainly be back, and next time I might not have work waiting for me so I can enjoy one of those cocktails! Cheers!

We sat at a table and weren't approached for almost fifteen minutes. Staff just looked at us awkwardly and didn't say anything. I went over to the host stand when a girl finally showed up and asked if we had done something wrong, to which she scolded us for seating ourselves. I told her about what the waitress had said and told her that we would be happy to wait or move to which she rolled her eyes at me, and shoved menus at me before telling me "I guess since you're already sitting there, you can stay there". We should have walked out at that moment. The rest of the visit was awkward. The waitress we had initially interacted with ended up covering our table, and she made a comment about how we just sat ourselves and laughed at us. Really killed the vibe despite the view being nice and the space being chill. We ordered a Fire Dancer and a Wet Whistle, as well as pretzel bites and the guacamole. The drinks were decent, albeit the waitress spilled some of them on us as she was dropping them off. Pretzels were dried out, but the guacamole was good. Wouldn't come back for the service, but the view could be worth it if it improves.

There is a "happy hour" on Monday but it's called Ouster Monday, oysters are $1 and they have different specials that are not offered on the normal happy hour. Got the crispy chicken wings, Wagyu longaniza, and burger The chicken wings were very crispy and came topped with a jalapeño relish. The relish had a citrusy taste to it or maybe it was the liquid from the pickled jalapeños. I liked the crispness of the chicken but I think the relish was too acidic for me. The Wagyu longaniza was my favorite, very strong beefy flavor. It came on top of salsa matcha which i thought was very tasty so much that I dipped the wings and burger in the sauce. The slice of radish on top gave it a nice texture and crunch. I see the Wagyu hotdog is offered on the oyster Monday special so I'm gonna have to come back and try that for sure. The burger was cooked nicely, medium as requested. It came topped with an egg, truffled onion jam, and cheddar cheese. The bun was nicely toasted and the egg and cheese added a nice rich element to it but I didn't care for the onion jam, it gave the burger an overall sweet profile. I'd simply ask for it without next time. Over all a solid burger, maybe I'd add bacon too. I also had a margarita which was on happy hour special. I asked for it to be spicy and they added a tajin rim which was nice. Spicy and refreshing! Parking is all on the street so I had to part a few blocks away. Overall a solid happy hour. I'll be back on Oyster Monday for the hot dog and fish collars.
