First time to visit this location. The hostess were very polite. Our waitress was great. The atmosphere was great. The coconut drink I thought was delicious but the person ordering it thought it was too sweet. My ribs were very tender. My Mac n cheese and fries were delicious. They were open on a holiday and probably had gotten slammed for lunch before we showed up. We could tell by the lack of welcoming vibes and non-smiles that our waitress didn't want to be there. Maybe just annoyed to have to work on a holiday? I ordered some chipotle chicken fajita salad where the chicken tastes like frozen dinner chicken, aka preservatives. The chipotle sauce drizzle and black bean salad were good. The blackberry tea gave was so sweet it gave me diabetes but it was tasty! Nice location off the interstate, but keep driving instead! Seated promptly and waited for 15 minutes with no waiter stopping to take our order. I stopped the hostess as she passed by to inform her of the situation. She took our drink and appetizer order and said our waiter would be there shortly. Drinks and appetizers were delivered by the hostess. Still no waiter. Hostess returned a few minutes later to inform us that our waiter would be right with us. After waiting a total of 30 minutes, we stopped by the hostess station to pay for our drinks and appetizers and left. Never saw our waiter. Finally was able to order just for the waitress to come back 10 minutes later to tell is there's no meat. My family decided to just pay for our drinks and leave. As a resident in Ruston, this Chilis has turned the block over the past few months. What went from long wait times and no servers and cold food, is now multiple seats available, tentative servers, and getting your food quick. Not sure if they got new management, but people seem to care about their job, look presentable, and value your time there. Food gets out quick, drinks are refilled, and requests are made. Super glad this Chilis turned it around in a great college town. read more

Chilis has become a known for us. It is certainly consistent and always comes through for us. Since my wife and I are both doing keto diet, chilis is easy for us. We do the fajitas and skip the tortillas. Many have complained that the restaurant was dirty but this was not the case on the day we dined. When I told them about the hair, they asked if I wanted a remake and when I received the remake it was made sloppy. I didn't receive any accommodations for this inconvenience. We usually love chili's, but our experience during lunch today was terrible. We walked in the door and we stood there without a greeting or being waited on for 5 minutes or more. Then, we were sat and waited even longer for our waiter to greet us and get our drinks. The food was average, but now we know not to order the bacon ranch quesodillas from the lunch menu. The portion size is so small compared to the normal 3 for $10 size for only $2 less. Our waiter was kind but seemed inexperienced and awkward. We asked why it said 11 online then and her response was that they were closing early even though there were about 20 people in the restaurant. The food was okay, but the service was unapologetically slow. 2 of the 4 kid meals were brought to our table, only to wait another 15 minutes for the remaining kid meals and 2 adult meals. Disorganized. The server took our order and never wrote anything down, and proceeded to enter the order by memory. This is fine, except when the order is then entered incorrectly, which happened with one of our meals. The dining room was almost empty and yet, the service was severely lacking. I should have listened to the Yelp community. I got curbside to go and when I got back to my hotel (only 7 minutes away) everything inside was cold. Like not we cooked it and it sat out a little too long cold. But like frozen chicken cold. Nothing would convince me that one bit of my food even touched heat after being pulled from the cooler. Bad, horrible, awful. The absolute worst service and dining experience. Went for a birthday, waited over an hour for 4 meals and drinks. Server told us that because she wasn't supposed to be our waitress, she was having to serve us when she had time. There were maybe 7 full tables in the whole place with people. Not exaggerating, someone dropped ranch dressing and every employee including the host walked over it the whole time. IT WAS SPILLED BY THE HOST STATION. I am shocked at the poor service we received. The Texas cheese fries were like a brick. Just a solid mass of cold fries and disappointment. I used to come here a lot in high school and college and it was a fun place with good food. Not anymore.
