This place is amazing. I totally recommend it. If you are gluten intolerant, they have you covered. Lactose intolerance, no problem! I had the Angry Pig. Barbecue sauce based pizza with sausage, bacon, and who knows what else. I'm in love. Avery was my server/ bartender, and she was great. She was friendly and made a mean old fashioned. After having Rotolo's pizza at several locations throughout the metro New Orleans area, I was excited to find that the Ruston location offered deep dish (as I don't recall ever seeing that as an option at other franchise locations). Sadly, we should've opted for a regular hand tossed pizza. I've had many deep dish pizzas in my time, and I've even prepared my own-so I know how they're supposed to be. First off-the wait time for a properly cooked deep dish is usually about 45 minutes to an hour, and I was prepared to wait. I received a text in my hotel room stating that it was ready only fifteen minutes after I had placed my order. This tells me that the crusts are pre-baked to save time, which I didn't have an issue with-until we cut into it and tasted it. There was entirely too much sauce (which I believe would've been different with a longer cook time-due to evaporation). Also-the fillings never "married." It was like a hunk of cheese covered in sauce. The crust completely separated from the toppings when trying to eat it. Anyhow-as usual, the Chalmette cheesy bread was outstanding, and I'll definitely return to any Rotolo's restaurant; however, in the future we will order a regular hand tossed pie. read more

I've been to Rotolo's twice and I'm not quite sure what to make if it. The prices are high, the food is good, and it can be so darn busy you can't get a parking spot within walking distance. I'm not sure how long the restaurant has been here. It's a nice building that has plenty of seating. There are employees everywhere but both times I have had an issue getting service. But once that service started, it was always good. I last had an order of the bruschetta as an appetizer. It's made with grape tomatoes which can be hit or miss. Seriously this was a hit. Very tasty and a bit of sweetness without being too acidic. I also had a deep dish pepperoni. Forget what you think about deep dish. This is a Detroit styled deep dish full of cheese, meats and sauce. I can down a large pizza by myself. I couldn't finish two slices. It's THAT filling, and boy was it good. The goat cheese on top was the kicker. However the bill was around $34. I had club soda to drink. That's a bit much for one person. It was delicious, don't get me wrong. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but there was only once size of this pizza. Will I try it again? It's certainly better than most pizza places. If I have a good bit of per diem left, I'll tackle this place again. Don't bother to go here. Today is 7/19/24, and our group of 3 people entered the restaurant. The employee at the front WOULD NOT seat more than 2 people. I spoke with a couple just outside who stated they tried to eat there last weekend, and they were sent away then also just as they were today. No one is given any explanation just that no more than 2 people can be seated. If you want to have more than 2 people seated, then the female attendant in the front states that it would be over an hour wait to be seated. It appeared that nearly half the restaurant had plenty of seats and tables open. The girl up front was so annoying sending people away one after another with zero explanation why this was happening. If I owned this restauran, I would get rid of her ASAP as this will ruin this business. We will not be back to this location. read more

First I want to say I was so happy to see they have plant based options on their menu, so you know I had to try it. I ordered the Beyond Meat Spaghetti and meatballs with an order of cinnamon bits. Initially they told me my order would take about 20 minutes but it was done quickly. I was impressed. So I picked up my order, the food looked delicious, but when I tasted the spaghetti, I felt it should've had more seasoning and I would have loved cheese on it as well. The cinnamon bits came with vanilla ice cream, and I was shocked because I didn't remember seeing that on the menu but I ate it and it was good. The cinnamon bits wasn't as good as I wanted them to be. They wasn't really sweet and tasted as if they had salt on them instead of sugar, but I'm going back to the restaurant to try something different next time. read more

I went there today alone(6-23-23) the young lady with glasses seated me in the very last booth, she proceeded to ask me what I would like to drink? I told her I would like to order from the bar. We have been here several times and have enjoyed our experience. Our last visit was on Tuesday, 8/3/21. We ordered the cheese fries, the original cheese sticks, and the garlic parmesan rolls. Good: - All of the food was very good. Our favorite is always the cheese fries. We like to get our jalapenos on the side, and the staff has always been great about making that possible for us. - Tons of options on the menu. The food is priced reasonably, but is not the same price as your average gas station pizza. Bad: - The online menu doesn't have any prices on it. We had to ask for a paper menu to see the prices. - The cheese sticks were a bit disappointing. It was more of a cheese pizza than anything else. The taste was okay, it just wasn't what I was expecting. In the past we have gotten the classic pepperoni pizza and the tomato soup and enjoyed both of these dishes as well. read more

I went to Rotolo's in Ruston, La today at approx 3:20 pm, and as my family and I were waiting for our pizza, a very explicit song which I've never heard before come on with every other word being F this and F that. I got up and walked to the back to ask the manager to change the song because it was so offensive and vulgar. As I walked back there to the kitchen, I noticed none of the workers who looked very young were paying any mind to the song; they just went about like nothing was wrong. After I asked the manager to change the song, she apologized and promptly did so. I am absolutely floored that a public, family restaurant would have such an obscene song in their music line up. I don't want to hear vulgarities while I'm eating my food. I don't appreciate a public service blaring obscenities over loud speakers without any notice or care either. read more

Got stuck in Ruston while there was a very bad ice storm. Was absolutely starving the first night. On my second night I was determined to find some good grub. This place was very good. Got the meatball sandwich and it didn't disappoint. Also I liked the skinny cut fries. My boyfriend got a calzone(can't remember the name) but it was massive. Also we ordered the wings. I didn't realized they are baked which I don't like, however my boyfriend seemed to enjoy them. We had calamari as an appetizer- this is the only Italian restaurant i've ever seen that mixed up calamari with sweet sauce , no lemon , no marinara sauce aside. I'm amazed that a pizza place, with dozens of empty tomato cans sitting all around the restaurant as decor, is out of both Bloody Mary mix AND ketchup. I wasn't thrilled with not having the big juicy Bloody Mary that I had been dreaming of for the last 200 miles, but when the waiter served French fries with no ketchup and informed me that they were out of ketchup I thought he was kidding. I guess he thought it was funny, because he was giggling as though it were hilarious. I noticed that they charged extra for the two sauces my son ordered for his very dry Caesar wrap, but being out of ketchup was no big deal. The pizza was so-so. They don't cook the pizza with the vegetables on it, so your pizza is warm on the bottom and cold on top. It wasn't bad, just nothing I'd ever order again. The dynamite shrimp didn't blow me away either. Sorry, but if I have a $65 meal I wasn't ketchup for my fries. While in town staying at The Courtyard, my siblings an I decided to wonder on over too Rotolo's and give it a try! And I'm glad we did because it was very tasty! They have a very nice selection of beers, wines, and drinks. The menu also has a nice variety of different things you can get like salads, calzones, pizza and pastas! I like to have a variety of things to choose from and they definitely have that but! It's not too over whelming. We started off with ordering the spinach and artichoke dip which was really nice and warm with warm pita bread! It has a little kick to it but it is very very yummy! Then ordered two simple pizzas sausage and pepperoni(because the kids are extremely picky eaters) the cheese sticks which were sooo good, and then from the kids menu a spaghetti dinner and chicken Alfredo. And apparently the chicken Alfredo is amazing....because my daughter liked the bowl clean....like seriously she was licking the bowl y'all...it was too much for my liking lol And the parmesan cheese at the table was her favorite as well as you can see in the pictures below lol Definitely a great place to try though if you have never been! read more

The host at this location unfortunately had no personal skills. His back was turned when I walked up to the host stand. I had to say excuse me to get him to turn around so that I could ask for a menu. When my calzone was ready he handed it to me in the box. When I checked the box I noticed there was no sauce for my calzone nor were there any utensils. I told the host that there were no utensils or sauce for my calzone and he asked me "there were non in the box"? I told him no, and then he proceeded to help the next customer. I asked him again may I have some? He then said yes in a second...WTF. The calzone made up for the bs with the host. Chloe was our waitress and did an excellent job serving and helping with menu choices. We started with a smooth, creamy spinach artichoke dip that was to die for. Chloe recommended side salads with the angry pig calzone. It was certainly not a choice we would have made but turned out to be a good one. It was spicy and a delicious combination of ingredients. For dessert, we chose cinnamon bites and ice cream. They were a little heavy but chilled our mouths after the spicy entree. Turned out to be $5 dip night and 2 for 1 wine saved us a few bucks.
