My co-workers and I frequent Chili's often for lunch because it is affordable and close to work. Today I had the shrimp tacos, which I asked for without the pico de gallo. Although they arrived with pico, my order was rushed and they returned in less than five minutes. The only thing I haven't cared for is the "new" chili -- I believe they recently changed the style. I can definitely do without it. Please go back to the old one. Also, we've had many different servers over time and a few of them have become our favorites, Gordon being one. I actually liked this Chili's, more so than the one's in LA or OC for that matter....we got seated right away (on a busy Friday night w/the Laker Playoffs, among the other major sports/games...LA Kings, Dodgers, etc...), our server was prompt & friendly, the food was good, drinks always good....the only little thing that might have needed improvement, was that they should sweep under the tables, because it was messy, and not just our table, but I noticed that all around, & would have made it a perfect experience....but aside from that it was a good experience.... We've gotten closer to the end of waitstaff. One day, many waitstaff will be replaced by robots. At Chilis, they've put a touch screen monitor on every table. With this monitor, you can order drinks from the bar, order dessert, see an interactive menu, play games, and pay by credit card (you still have to order your first round of drinks and your appetizer and entrée from a human being). I bet one day, a robot will bring your order to your table for you while you stare into your phone. Eliminates all interpersonal interaction. I hate it that they put the caloric information on items. I didn't want to know that the bloomin' onion was 1,400 calories. I just want to stuff my face with delicious greasy goodness dripping with ranch dressing. To save my pants from bursting at the seams, I had the sirloin steak with steamed broccoli with only 250 calories. It was pretty darn good. The staff are well trained; they check on you and another one comes to let you know the first one is on break then yet another one comes to bring you your food. It's like a clown car of waitresses in there. But at least you know that you're going to get taken care of. read more

I have tried going to this chili's multiple times over the past year. Every time I have gone into the restaurant, it is empty (maybe 2 tables of people), yet there is a 20-30 minute wait. I have been told by the hostess that they only have 1 server. And it is not just the Redlands location, San bernardino and Beaumont are just as bad. Not sure why Chilis won't hire any additional staff, but I am extremely disappointed. read more

So my boyfriend and I like to come here on Sunday and sit in tbe bar area for all day happy hour. We've never been on a Friday night as I really hate crowds. Well, last Friday, our trip was cancelled due to the weather and my boyfriend was upset becaise2it was my birthday weekend. I suggested Chili's because we ALWAYS enjoy it. We pull up to a crowd way out the door and he was like, so where to now? I decided to chance my anxiety and go check the bar. Lucky for us, two guys were standing up to leave as I walked in and I grabbed their seats. Our bartender/server was Trish. Let me tell you, beginning to end, she was AWESOME!!!!! We had drinks in front of us within minutes, appetizers amd meals and fresh drinks flowed at an amazing pace, she even managed to hold conversation with us without missing a single beat with other patrons. If I could give this location zero stars I would. Let me just start by say I have never felt so uncomfortable visiting ANY restaurant or received such terrible customer service in my life. I came out to lunch with a girl friend of mine after work and as soon as we both we're seated and greeted by our server (Jason) I automatically wanted to go to a different table for which he would not be serving. He was very rude and treated us as if he didn't want anything to do with us. I just assumed he had a bad day so I didn't bother asking for management. It wasn't until the table right behind us got seated where things got interesting. Jason was all laughs and smiles when it came to the table behind us and might I say providing excellent customer service. I don't want to make this a race issue I really don't but clearly that had to have been the case. My friend and I were the only ones of color seated in his section and we were the only ones treated as if he had a problem serving our table. We asked for the check and then asked to speak to management. That's when they sent over Tito, who we just saw getting coached by his manager while we were at our table. Tito was unfit to handle customer complaints as he did not show any empathy for our experience nor offering any apology or solution for what my friend and I had just felt with. Not sure why it's even offered in the menu and most of my fries were a bit dry. Do Not go to this Chili's. I went here with my bf for lunch because I had a gift card. When we arrived one of the the hostess opened the door for us, which was nice. We were seated right away, but when the hostess was doing his "Thank you for dining at Chili's. Your waitress will be....Hope you enjoy you blah blah blha..." he was looking elsewhere as though we were wasting his time. Moving on. Our waitress was very nice. I ordered the half rack of ribs meal and the bf ordered a side salad and turkey club. He never got his salad. Our meals came out within a reasonable about of time. However, my ribs were charred and there was barely anything there. It wasn't juicy or thick or tender at all. I've had ribs at Chili's before (in Orange County) and they were always thick, juicy, and tender. I would've sent it back, but didn't want to have to wait for them to recook another one or deal with a manager. This location is ridiculous. The servers tonight were so inconsiderate & careless I couldn't believe it! We went around 7:50, we were told it would take around 45 mins-1 hr to be seated. I loved their bar and family friendly ambiance. Loved their margaritas! Their 3 course meals is delicious! The price is not bad at all either. Their chili was awful! I've been meaning to write this review and finally found the time! On Sunday my husband and I went in to grab dinner after the movies. I've been to this location several times, and the service and food is always good. On Sunday we sat in the bar and had Lauren E. as our server and Madison as her assistant/helper (not sure her title) both women gave awesome suggestions for new items on the menu. Not gonna lie, I don't write many reviews, and I've probably been to chili's 200 times. But it's May 27, 2020, and I just ate at this chili's and let me tell you. Those chips and salsa SLAP. The crispy chicken tenders went hard in the paint, and the chipotle bowl thing was, as the kids say, a real banger. We don't deserve you chili's. Staff is rude. They estimated an hour wait and I waited about 1 1/2 hours. They only had half of the restaurant open, they had all the tables squished together. Despite covid regulations. They only have one waiter for the whole day but they about three hosts up at the front. Service is really slow. Also, I would like to add that the Manager the whole time was sitting in his office avoiding helping his staff. It is not the staffs fault that they are not properly developed. It is the manager's duty to help out when they're short handed rather than hide in the office. read more

This restaurant has been a "go to" for my family for years, until recently. We love the food and even participate in the rewards program. However, this location is no longer on our list of favs. For our last few visits, the restaurant has been short staffed, closed, or the wait is always 20-30 minutes or longer. I seriously wonder how a business can sustain the steady stream of potential customers that walk in just to have the host callously wait for their decision to be added the "list" and just turn around and walk back out. It's not the food! (However, I did read the article by KTLA-TV's Vivian Chow that several employees at this location have come up ill.) It's the service... Most of the servers are pretty good. It's getting seated and for some reason (perhaps the short staffing issue) the staff disappears. If we didn't actually have to wave someone down, we wouldn't get an order in. Once we get someone's attention the service is average but not bad. Our last visit on Saturday (1/27) was our last straw for this location. Our time to get seated was 45 minutes and since we didn't have anything pressing, we stayed. We were offered a bar seat, and we waited another 15 minutes before we decided to wave down the host to ask about service. Within a couple of minutes, Noe came to our table, introduced himself, and asked if we'd like drinks. He said he was in training, and he proceeded to serve us better than the regular servers we've previously encountered. Kudos to Noe. Again, we love the food and have been to other locations in Riverside, San Bernardino, even Orange County but, we won't be going back to the Alabama St. location. :-( I'm afraid you lost this customer. read more

Came in with my family on a late Sunday afternoon. It was pretty busy and our waitress was doing her best to be attentive given the circumstances. I ordered the chili lime carne asada, and it came out just seared, and not really cooked. I asked our waitress to take it back to cook it a bit longer. My family finished their meal and apparently the kitchen "lost" my meal. The waitress apologized and took the order off the ticket and discounted the rest of the ticket. RATING: ZERO Disappointment could describe tonights dinner with friends at this particular location. Tonight we decided to visit this particular Chili location, because it was near our friends home. As soon as I walked in, I quickly noticed that there was customers waiting to be seated and dirty tables not being cleared and cleaned in a timely manner. Luckily, our friends already had a table, so we sat down and ordered our meal. First problem, the waiter had a difficult time typing on his portable tablet. Second problem, we waited for over 30 minutes for our food, while two different tables near us, ordered after us and already were eating. Third problem, two of our orders "Hamburgers" had to be sent back for "No Cheese" (customer can't do dairy) and the other one for the wrong type of cheese. When the NO CHEESE hamburger arrived, and we told the manager, his short and disinterested reply was "...we are very busy" and then he walked away. Fourth problem, Fajita trio was so over cook the rice and shrimp were stuck to the metal plate. I nibbled on a couple of items, and then decided to eat anymore. Wife ordered an ice cream cookie, and the cookie was over cooked (Unfortunately can't upload photo). I used to like this chili's, but not anymore. We had went in and from what I can remember the bar was self seating, but I guess they changed that. There was no host at the front so of course we decided to just sit at one of the small booths at the bar area. 5 mins in, the host comes to us and says, "this is not self seating." And she just walks away, doesn't even offer an alternative like for us to sit at the bar or if we want to put our name to wait for a table. Thought it was pretty odd. So we go sit at the bar and the bar tender left after speaking to a customer then just went on one of the registers for 10mins, doesn't look like we was doing anything and never comes back. At this point we were so annoyed and angry about the service here so we left. Also they weren't even busy and had a lot of tables unoccupied. I have not been a huge fan of Chili's but I usually get a decent meal when I go. Not great but decent. Well today it was awful. I ordered the chicken fajitas. They came out warm. Not hot and really salty. The best part of the meal was the beans. My brother ordered a side of asparagus and it came raw. That was a first. I asked for an extra napkin and never received it. Up until today, I was reasonably happy with the service and food at Chili's. I usually order on-line. When I arrived, I called the restaurant to inform them that I arrived. Then a young lady came out to check the order on my phone and said they didn't receive it and she would be getting the manager. The manager came out apologized and said they had been busy and would make the order after confirming my order again on my phone. About 15 or so minutes later, he came out with my food. I told him that I also had a reward drink... a lemonade. He waited for me show him on my phone, at that point I was irritated. Why would I try to cheat you all out of a drink??? So, at that point I'm like you all don't believe in service recovery at all. While he went back to get the drink, I bit into one of the Southwestern Roll halves. It was barely warm! When he came back he gave me a reg lemonade, I ordered a strawberry one. At that point, I was upset about the temperature of the food. I told him to touch one to see how almost cold it was. He apologized, and walked away. Before I could leave he came rushing back with my strawberry lemonade. I was really upset and told him I wanted my money back. I realized that they found my prepared food that they said they didn't have a record of and brought it out to me...coldish-warm. Came here Saturday (probably after 7 Ish) ...we had a problem up front with communication between us and the host over the fact if we could self seat ourselves in the bar or not ? She said we couldn't ,so she put us on a 30min wait -then we watched her allow a party of 4 to self seat themselves after we had been waiting -when we addressed this and asked for a manager -Reuben came up from and sat us quickly . He was amazing !!! He sat us -took our order quickly,brought us our appetizers quickly ...he took great care of us which is the only reason why I'm giving 5 stars -our experience started off rough and Reuben (the manager ) changed our whole experience around !!! So it ended up being a nice night with drinks and great food !! Thanks Reuben !!! And the waitress who ended up waiting on us was great too!!
