So expectations were never high and thought it would be a tourist trap, yet, I wouldn't call Longmont touristy. So one day my wife and I got take out. Honestly, I was surprised. The food was fantastic. I don't remember what we got that time but it was memorable enough that we said we should go there for drinks and dinner. So a few months ago, not really craving anything particular and fresh off a hike but starving we decided to give it a try. Blown away. Food was exceptional. I got the salmon which is basically ordering fancy chicken at a restaurant. It was delicious. And the risotto was absolutely incredible. Service was great. When we asked what the server recommended he didn't give us a run around and say "well everything is good". He gave concrete recommendations and nailed it. Great place to go especially with family. I called ahead and Sarah said I could reserve space inside or outside seating for my party but when we got there, the host put us outside and THEN told us they didn't have service outside and we'd have to order at the bar. WTF!? So, we moved inside and were the only ones in the place for about 30 minutes. The food was good but I'm done with everything being an add-on item - example: cheese on the burger is $1.50. Really? House salad was $2.00 additional replacing onion rings on the pulled pork sandwich? Soft drinks were reasonable at $3.00 each. We ordered a kids fish plate ($8.00) and wanted to order one additional fish filet and were charged for a second kids plate (again $8.00). KIds' Mac & Cheese was pretty good. The cost-of-living adder on the check that most restaurants have dropped is now LUMPED together with tax on the bill so as to hide the additional amount. On my bill of $146.00 - they added $17.36 for tax and adjustment. Working backwards, I guess that is an additional $5.00 or 3%. Not too much but it's misleading to price a menu this way. One only saving grace was I could pay with a charge card and they didn't add a fee on top of all that. I guess future customers will see if that changes because I'm done.

We were seated promptly upon arrival although did wait a bit for a server to appear. We arrived at the tail end of happy hour so that was nice. Happy hour is available at any table in the restaurant. We ordered appetizers of smoked trout dip and baked scallops. Both were tasty. Main courses were duck and fresh catch of the day which was trout. The trout and the veggies served with it were delicious. Whipped parsnips, roasted carrots, snap peas and spinach topped with a nice filet of trout. This place is small but very cute on the inside. Make sure to notice the ceiling fan. They have a large outdoor patio too.

We were all shocked to see the change in the breakfast potatoes... the au gratin potatoes have always been delicious and so unique to anything else at any breakfast/brunch spot in town, so when the plates arrived with fried potatoes you can get anywhere else, it was disappointing. The same dish we have always gotten, the Monte Cristo, was lackluster today. When we mentioned the potatoes the response from our waiter was "yeah that's been a common complaint"... which makes it obvious that we weren't the only ones who have brought it up and asked about the change. The service was decent and the food was good, but none of it compared to what it has been in the past. Oddly enough it was also quite empty for a Sunday at 10AM when were used to seeing it packed in there. Perhaps others have noticed changes that are less than customer-centric? Why make such a change to a staple item which then makes the meal no different than what I can find elsewhere for less money? Sadly it make not make the list next year when company is back in town when it's typically been their request.

The poor bartender took our order and had to wait for each of the 3 drinks to be made by another party. It was between 7 and 12 minutes before we received each of them. I have never ordered a drink at a fuzzy's in the past where it wasn't made by the person i ordered it from. While I watched the trainees make our drinks in the well, I read the ingredient list. I noticed they neglected to put triple sec in any of my drinks, even thought the menu listed it as an ingredient. During our entire experience the owner or franchisee lady in ripped jeans with the tude would come behind the bar and pour herself a drink and not acknowledge any of the customers.
