I have been here a few times and prefer to avoid chains if possible and this visit is a prime reason why. I ordered ahead because I was in a hurry and needed to get in and out quickly. Needless to say, my food was supposed to be ready 20 minutes ago, it still isn't ready. Chili's is usually a favorite for us but tonight really stunk. Server was not attentive and seemed to have zero urgency or direction. No drink refills. Wrong soup. They brought chili. And insisted it was soup. I asked to have it removed from the bill and they just brought another which my son didn't have time to eat because it was a starter and he was halfway through his actual meal. Had to ask for utensils and straws. Twice. I understand short staffed and am patient and kind. But indifference of the staff in general was unacceptable. Food was subpar. Disappointing. read more

Ordered 3 for 10 with the chicken quesadilla . The quesadilla was ode soggy. Like the bottom was wet. Also each slice of the quesadilla was stuck together in the soggy mess so whenever I tried to pic a piece up the layers of the quesadilla would fall apart/ rip off which made it more of a weird soggy nacho concoction. My friend and I went for drinks and stayed for dinner. We should have left. The drinks, can't beat the price it was 5.00 for 2 short blue moons. We decide to stay for dinner and had a good server but our petite sirloin came our WAY undercooked when we asked for it medium and medium rare. The server took them back and we told him we wanted new ones as re-cooked loses flavor. After 20-30 minutes our steak came out very good. Then they charged us for the re-cooked steaks. Our waiter never came back and his back up never checked in with us. We told her twice the bill was wrong even after she was supposed to fix it. It took about 35/40 min to check out. All in all it took about 3 hours to eat dinner and get out. not going again anytime soon and nothing was even comped for wrong temp steak and long wait read more

Applied to work there. Called back on my application and the manager was very rude. Complained that I called just when dinner started, and had a tone as if to imply I was stupid. Stating "Don't you know it's six O'clock?" I live right down the street. They aren't that busy were he couldn't have politely told me he was busy took my name and number and got back to me about it at a different time instead of being completely rude about it. It was unprofessional. As someone with a BA and most of my studies being management, it looks as though their manager could use some refresher courses. read more

I recently (5-20-2019) ordered food from Chili's for dinner. I was staying at a nearby hotel. I placed the order and was given a time to pick it up. I was there at exactly the time specified. I wish I could attach a picture of what I was given. Even the manager, when he saw what I was given was a bit taken aback. I requested a refund, which the manager gave me a receipt and said the transaction was cancelled. It was not canceled and appeared on my credit card statement. I am concerned this restaurant serves a large traveling population with the nearby hotels who will not have the resolve to bring this to anyone's attention. read more

Just because of Covid doesn't give staff a right to be rude to customers. I called ahead and the link said we would be ready to be seated at 6:57pm, but when I went in today to check on the status the host guy who was managing seating was chit chatting with someone and then was so rude when I asked about the status. And then told me it would be another 20 min wait when I asked at 6:45pm it should have only been 12 more min according to their link on the text message. We decided to leave. The time I came before with my friend they also told her the wrong amount of time. They said 45 min wait and we ended up waiting over an hour. Nobody working there is very friendly, especially on Wednesday nights apparently. Chili's used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but I will not be going back again. I will not pay a business for service with their employees being rude to me, my family, and friends. It is sad because my husband and I loved to go there every year for Cinco de Mayo, but we will have to find a new place and tradition. Liverpool, NY location. October 26, 2018. 5:45 PM. These guys are absolutely clueless. Horrible management. Party of four. We got on the wait list via online check in 15 minutes prior to arrival. After we arrived we waited for 25 more minutes in a busy but not slammed restaurant. I personally saw 4 available tables plus 2 that needed to be bussed/set. The host/hostess seemed to be fumbling with "iPad" device trying to figure out whether to seat those present and waiting or hold the available tables for online check ins who weren't yet present. The manager should have taken charge and made a decision. After we were seated we ordered immediately and drinks (non alcoholic) came quickly. We started with chips and salsa. 10 minutes passes, no chips and salsa. Drinks sit empty. We got up and left. Never again Chili's. read more

Avoid this place. We stopped there around 430 pm expecting typical Chili's/Applebee's/TGIF/etc food. We were passing by and had a craving for their honey chipotle chicken fingers. So, we had realistic expectations for a Chili's. The service was ok timing-wise, though several of the servers looked more unkempt than I would allow if I were the manager (oily scruffy beards, generally unwashed?). To me this is a sign of low professional standards no matter what class of restaurant you operate. The food was terrible. We ordered chicken strips and fries, relatively simple fare. The chicken strips were WAY over cooked on all three orders and the chicken itself looked very thin and low quality even for strips. You could also tell they were cooked in oil that desperately needed to be changed. It came with fries that were fine and corn on the cob that was cooked to mush. We left hungry. Overall not worth the time or money even if you are craving a franchise staple. Save your money for a Fry Daddy and a pack of Tyson chicken. read more

Sunday dinner time after a busy weekend figured we would order dinner to go. After arriving home 15 minutes away. We realized that my pescatarian daughter's shrimp tacos was a chicken salad ridiculously covered in bacon. Having nothing in the house for her, hence ordering out. When I called to report problem I was assured they would be ready when I arrived after my 15 minute ride and they would promptly bring them to us when we arrived. We sat in the car for approximately another 10 minutes waiting for them to bring us the tacos. I finally got out of the car to get the tacos. Where I waited another 7 minutes. I was told by the server that he would speak with the manager and I would be mailed some sort of gift card. This issue should have been resolved immediately. Entire dinner with my family was completely ruined as we were unable to even enjoy the meal together. And to top it off, the shrimp tacos were soggy and flavorless, daughter could only eat one. I was on a road trip with my boyfriend and we stopped here for lunch. As soon as we walked in, the host greeted us pretty quickly which was nice. However, she did not take us to our table. Instead, she said "Is that booth in the corner okay? Okay you can head over there, the menus are on the table". How rude! Then once we sat down, it smelled like a urinal. I called a little late to place a Togo order because I had just left work (working in a restaurant I know how annoying that can be sometimes) however the professionalism was amazing! They took my order and when I got there they treated me like I was the very first guest in the building! I unfortunately did not get names the only name I have on the receipt is Rhonda, but everyone was great! Food is absolutely amazing which was a little shocking considering I ordered so late I kinda expected it to be rushed/sloppy, but that was not the case at all thankfully! One of the only two places so far in Syracuse that we hate. First you come in and nobody is here to greet you and you wait minutes until somebody shows up and sits you down. Then you wait almost 10 minutes until you waitress shows up and asks what you want to drink. At this point we have to force her to take our appetizer order because in 10 minutes we sure had time to figure that out. The loaded queso was actually pretty good but the chowder is a big no no!! This is so watered down... The worst chowder I have ever had!! Then you run out of drink so the waitress takes your glass and forget to bring it back and then disappears. So you have to wait with your mouth on fire (the fajitas are good!) And no drink around. Our waitress disappeared constantly for extended periods of time which made wait every time for any little thing we needed. Typical Chilis... I really don't see a big difference between here, Applebee's or TGIF. Came here since we had a gift card and was pleasantly surprised to find out tonight was ALL YOU CAN EAT STEAK OR CHICKEN FAJITAS for $12.99!! I thought that was a good deal especially since I had 3 helpings... Unless they make the portions smaller knowing its all you can eat? Ordered the steak fajitas and although I wasn't expecting melt in your mouth meat, the meat was a bit more rubbery than I would have expected... But being pregnant and having an appetite that is insatiable I still cleaned my plate. We also ordered guacamole (not table side since the waiter made it seem like it would be exactly the same but more work for him) we wanted it spicy and was informed that there are already jalapeños in it..... We asked that we get extra jalapeños and were brought out a small side of jalapeños that were sliced.... Not really to add to the guacamole. Chips and salsa were typical and not too salty which was nice. The offered mini iPad looking devices to order refills and desserts and also had the option to pay using that device... Not sure what the need for all that is....we opted to just talk to a real human!! Will we go back? Friendly service but a weak menu. They put their God awful Beans on everything and it ruined my meal.

When we first got here it wasn't a great start. They told us 25 to 30 minutes... We weren't sat until 50 minutes later. But the food wound up being worth the wait. The skillet Queso was delicious, especially the salsa that comes with it. Their fajita trio was spectacular. I'm a huge fan of fajitas but these were some of the best I've had in a while. read more

If you've ever been to a Chili's or a chain restaurant you know what kind of food to expect. However, the 5 star rating is for service!! Our hockey team is here for a tournament. I called ahead and asked them if they could accommodate 40 people. Shirley checked to make sure there were enough chefs on duty to handle. I was impressed even by that as that was a first! Shirley was friendly and accommodating! Love her!! When we got there Mercedes was our waitress and Shirley stayed to make sure all ran smoothly. Mercedes was awesome! Friendly and efficient and not stressed at all by the size of our group. We only had a certain amount of time because we had to get back to the rink for another game. All drinks and food were served in a timely manner. All bills were correct. We even had time to spare!!! We have never had this kind of experience when booking as a group. Haven't been in a while. Never cared for the food. Always seemed generic. They have been pushing a new menu, better food on commercials. 5 of us went there and everything was perfect. The kids loved the tenders and I had the new "meater" ribs. Maybe the best ribs I ever had. My mother got the new burgers and she really liked it (she never likes anything). Our waitress Denise was great despite being super busy. They have drink and food runners so everything comes out quick. Very pleased. read more

I love the happy hour food specials. Get there before 6:00, and you can get $5.00 meals and appetizers if you sit in the bar. The chicken sandwich & fries is my favorite, although they went from a nice, big sesame roll to a big shiney roll (not for me, so I eat the sandwich without the roll now), but for $5.00, I can't complain. The last time we went the french fries were awful, they tasted like they were fried in very old oil. But they exchanged them for mashed potatoes and I was happy. My visit was two things: aggravating and offensive. While the atmosphere was fun and lively, the service was anything but. My husband and I ordered an appetizer and a couple of drinks; we decided to try the honey chipotle wings along with buffalo wings, five wings of each flavor. The chipotle wings were terrible, sticky and had a very distinct "tar-like" taste to them. I told the server and asked if we could trade them out and just get buffalo wings. She promptly assured us it would be no problem, but then sent the manager over, who not only told us he couldn't get us more wings, but then tried to get us to pay for more. Mind you, we hadn't eaten these disgusting wings. I'm not a crook, I wasn't trying to get anything free. I was still going to pay for the wings, and I told the manager that very thing; I just wanted something that I actually liked. Why was that so hard? But why was the service so bad, you ask? Our server, she never came back to the table. Not once. She didn't even glance at us. Our drinks stayed empty and I wanted to order dessert, but I suppose it was too much to ask. She wasn't extremely busy, she had other tables, which she checked on a few times. Needless to say, after a simple food request we were stereotyped and ignored. As a restaurant blogger, I had previous positive experiences at this restaurant, and came prepared to write a wonderful review, but instead I'm here. We went on a Friday afternoon, with our noisy obnoxious crew - my lady, 1 year old, 2 year old, 5 year old special needs, teen-aged son and myself. First time there, placed on the far right hand side with the other families with kids. This is not a complaint, mind you - I prefer being with around other families with loud kids because, frankly, it is relaxing to know you are among your own kind and don't have to 'shush' your kids who are just being kids. Appetizers were fast - she left and came back immediately with the endless chips, and the the texas loaded fries were only a minute or two later. The kid's food came in heaping amounts, plenty of food for them to eat - same with us older folk. Drinks were never close to being emptied before being replaced, and passing waitresses that had nothing to do with our table would ask if we needed anything else, or take empty dishes. Seriously, the service was fantastic there and I was surprised, seeing as how this is a franchise restaurant. Funny thing is, there was great service at the Red Lobster near by, so perhaps this is just 'status quo' for Clay. Either way, good food, great service. Will return. read more
