Last night after doing chores tired and hungry. We did not want to cook. Chilis in Kirkwood is close. They have the Menu with 3 items for 10.00 (certain choices) or the two people for 25.00 with appetizer, side, entrée, beverage and desert. We arrived exhausted and was greeted with a smile by a waitress. Surprisingly the place was not too crowded for a Saturday. The Baseball game was on and Jim sat in location to watch 4 TV's; so he was in heaven. The waitress who greeted us was Amberlynn who waited on us. Could we get any better service, Amberlynn had this contagious smile. I never had a waitress so amazing. Our food came quickly, we had our refills on drinks and nothing to request. We put our name down and was supposed to receive a text in 20-25 min , 40 min passed and still hadn't received anything except a confirmation text. We went inside to wait and we ended up getting seated right away by another hostess. He had no clue we had been waiting for a text so we were waiting for nothing. My husband ordered a beer and the beer was nasty. It tasted like it had been cold left out and then put back in the fridge. So he ordered a draft and the glass was dirty. There was red residue all over the glass including the rim. Our appetizer was fine but then 40 min goes by and everyone around us (people who came after) were getting their food. Our waitress went to check on it and comes back to get our order again bc there was a "shortage". We just asked for the check. Had a great experience at chilis on 7/27. Mandy was our server. I waited for about 10-15 minutes before she took our order, but I noticed she had a large party to attend to, so I was understanding. We ordered the 2 for $22. The Texas cheese fries were a good appetizer. Nothing to write home about, but they weren't bad. I added on a queso as an appetizer and let me tell you - their queso is incredible. It was served warm and the chips to go along with were warm and had just the right amount of crisp. I ordered the chicken fajitas, and I thought they were very good. It was a huge portion and I had plenty leftover to bring home. Loved the ambiance inside as well. I hate leaving bad reviews but after tonight's visit to Chili's in Kirkwood I have to write. This is the first time in my life that I've left a restaurant and written $0.00 for a tip. Yup, the service was that bad. The burgers were great but the interaction is with the FOH staff not the cooks. We were a 2 top, seated in the bar at a booth. We waited for 5 - 10 minutes before Mary (the bartender) came by our table. It went down hill from there. Apparently we were inconveniencing her. Food was plopped on the table, she never came back and asked how we were enjoying our meal, and the smile she did put on seemed faked. She definitely had time to tend and chat to the few (~4) folks sitting at the bar but coming out to a booth just cramped her style. If, and I do me a BIG IF, I return I will explicitly refuse to be seated with in her area again. I'd get better service at the White Castle next door. read more

I feel like the menu changes every couple months. I ordered a chicken bacon and avocado sandwich. The chicken was cut in half and fit on half of the bun. This is because (as I was JUST told by Eric" the very nice General Manager) I asked for a different bun other than the pretzel bun. Makes sense. I ate half my sandwich as of it was a bacon lettuce tomato sandwich. The sandwich was good but I was disappointed that the chicken was half. I honestly didn't taste the avocado because there was just one slice. I am glad I discussed this with Eric. This changed my rating from 2 to 3. Can't give it higher because of the avocado and I feel we should have been told about the bun/chicken. read more

Truly depends on who you get as a server. Kitchen staff hits it out of the park every time, but the server staff some times just plains sucks. The last time I was there my server disappeared for like half an hour. Great location geographically, right near the freeway. read more

We went to Chili's in Kirkwood yesterday at about 439pm. Taylor was our server and she was terrific. She suggested the presidente margarita which came with its own shaker. We had the 2 for $25, chicken fajitas and 1/2 slab of ribs with 2 sides. Food was served hot with generous portions. Even the chips and salsa were great. Their guacamole is a good quality. Almost forgot, we got cheesecake for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Do try it. read more

I met a friend here because I got a gift card as a thank you. I normally do not frequent chain restaurants because they are usually way too many kids there. And I prefer to support local endeavors. I sat in the bar area and a guy was on his phone talking loudly. I asked the waitress about it and she got her manager who insisted they could not tell him to tone it down. They said he was having a business meeting with the guy at the table. I said he is on the phone, i see it on and he is looking away from the guy. They offered to reseat me but i wasn't interested in sitting near any small hooligans. The food was actually better then i expected which isn't to say it was great. I got the sour cream enchiladas. They do have happy hour pricing until 6pm. So I got a decent sized well drink for $3.50. Service was fairly decent too. Parking isn't great there and it was a little loud. I would only go back if someone insisted or i had a gift card. They did have a lot of nice tvs in the bar area. So I think it might be a nice place to catch games if you are interested in that. read more

I love this restaurant. Whenever my family & I eat here, the food is delicious, served timely by always attentive servers. I have never received poor service here. The tablet on all the tables is great for the kids to play games, then pay the bill, and leave a review. Love the nachos with salsa, get that every time. Could fill up on that. After past experiences at other chili's locations, I was hesitant to visit this restaurant! I was pleasantly surprised during this visit! We sat in the bar area and were promptly greeted by the bartender who offered a long list of draft beers on tap - the standards and some craft beers too! After receiving our drinks we took a peek at the menu and I was impressed by the offerings. My dining companions visit this location on a regular basis, so they were pretty quick to make a decision. I finally decided on the southwest egg rolls, while the others had quesadillas, low carb burger & a burger with chili on the side. Everyone clearly enjoyed their choices as everyone had clean plates at the end of our meal! Our bartender was pretty good about keeping glasses full, although one round was a little bit late (no big deal since we also had water & we were busy talking!) Food is great like all Chilis locations I have ever been to. Service is great. The only downside is I sit in the bar area on purpose. I am past the little kids stage of my life, I don't want screaming kids around me. Why then did the hostess just sit a young couple with 2 kids under 5 at the table next to me? It is very annoying, the kids both almost immediate started yelling about stuff. So I'm 1/2 way through my dinner, trying to listen to my audiobook as I'm dining alone, now I can't hear it past the kids. I should have brought my noise cancelling headphones. read more

This was literally the worst dining experience that i have ever had at any resturaunt. It took over 2 hrs for a simple lunch. Ive been a server for the last 12 years and im completely understanding of getting in the weeds or being new. However the unapologetic and rude behavior of Tejae amazed me beyond belief. This was disappointing from the moment we walked in. Took forever to be seated, tables were not cleaned off, servers took forever to notice our presence once we finally got seated. (It was just my wife and I-2 people, not a large group) Our server just kept apologizing for not doing her job well. The food was mediocre at best. This chil's is on my way home the latest I ever work is 8 pm, but this is my second time trying to order takeout and they are NOT friendly at all. Both times I've arrived at least a couple of hours before they close so I usually order a drink at the bar while I'm looking at the menu and getting our order together (usually ordering for 2-4 people.) The bartender is always very impatient, and short with me when I try to ask a question about the menu . I usually always tip, even on a to go order. So that's how the service was . Now about the food, first time I ordered cajun chicken pasta, barely edible and overpriced, I gave them a second chance thinking they were just having a bad night it happens, but the food I ordered last night was just as bad, when I checked my order before I left most of it was barely luke warm, and the portions were laughable for the prices. Pepper in some nasty! My food was less than stellar and they took my favorite drink off the menu. To top it off, there were bugs crawling on the table! Gross! I used to like this place. I routinely order there at least once per month or more. Food taste depends on what you order, but I do like their Shiner Bock Ribs. I had the ugliest encounter last night ever. They lost a loyal customer, and from the looks of reviews they can't afford to lose one. I had a coupon on my phone for free appetizer or desert. I dont think it required me to dine in. I called the restaruant, had a pleasant conversation with Rachel. MOST friendly and helpful. I asked if they stil had their Wednesday discount for Ribs, she affirmed that they did. I told her I had a coupon on my phone for free appetizer. She took my order to ribs and appetizer, told me to just show her my phone coupon when i arrived. I was feeling happy and told her they have the best ribs. (After my encounter that answer changes) Good ribs dont come with bad attitudes, especially from management.) Top down matters! I arrived, dared to push on the speaker that claims to be broken, but works fine. Rachel came out quickly, invited me to join their to-go-club as my order was not quite ready, she took my coupon code and promised to be right back with food. From here what happend will keep me from coming back. They dont have a "how are we doing" place to comment on their receipt or I would put my comments there. Rachel came out and handed me my food, told me that her manager refused to remove cost of appetizer. So I refused the appetizer and sent it back with her to adjust my bill. I told her I asked if the free appetizer could be ordered to go when I ordered. She understood and tried to make it right. It took a very long time-more than 5 minutes maybe 10. She returned obviously a little embarressed. She handed me back my food (now cold) and the receipt which had now gone up $5 more dollars. She told me that her manager took off both deals since i complained. He told her the ribs special is dine in only at Kirkwood. (I have been ordering these to go for over a year and never had anyone tell me this--I have paid same price every Wed. until this one.) Chris is manager, perhaps he is just a mean guy, maybe he is new, or maybe the owners need to send him to customer service school. RAchel advised me that my $12.99 was enough and I did not need to pay the new price of $19.46, She apologized profusely for her managers behavior. I asked if she had told him that I had bragged about how good their ribs were. She had not. I told her that was good--she should now tell him that good ribs can never be paired with BAD attitude or sense of anger at customers. To make it worse I got home and found out that the loaded potatoes ordered were not inside (did he remove them out of spite too?) Who knows. But manager should pay more attention to getting orders correct than in alienating once loyal customers. Next time I will find somewhere else for my meal. After a long day at work I dont want to waste another hour in a restaurant. I would prefer to dine at home. I ordered some lunch to go on Friday. House salad with thousand Island and chicken strips. I guess they forgot to tell me when I ordered that they don't carry that dressing so whatever I put all over my salad was some spicy orange dressing that tasted terrible and the chicken strips were made in a tempura batter and so greasy I had to eat them with a fork and knife. I ate one and that was enough. Went in tonight after a long time not being there, excited to return. We were greeted by a less than enthusiastic hostess who sat us without any menus - no big deal. We waited for between 7-8 minutes, with staff walking by, with no acknowledgement. We just decided to leave and go somewhere else. The kicker was that the same hostess who seated us less than 10 minutes earlier wished us a good evening as we left. Chili's always has decent food at relatively fair prices, but the always-nice servers are what make it that extra-bit pleasant. It is a chain, so you have the usual chain food-items with some variation such as a bit more emphasis on Mexican food, and of course the baby-back ribs are always a popular item. So yeah, a perfectly nice place given that extra "oomph" by the good staff. read more

Typical chain restaurant and when I come to places like this I only write reviews based on the experience. The waiter kept forgetting items the table requested. The food took over an hour to come out and when it did the cheese on my mashed potatoes was not melted which is a huge no,no for me. Also, you have to pay with this tablet that is on your table but didn't work while we were there so we had to wait for the already non existent waiter to come back and request he swipe the card. Apparently he had to ask the manager. I spent more time here then intended. The service could use some help overall the visit was okay. read more
