Mango margarita....why in the world is it this weird Amber color

Boi! Where to start ‍. I've been to El Agave previously when it was in the shopping center where the old Shop N Save used to be (now ALDIs) and US Bank. I wasn't a fan back then and the place was always dead and the food lacked everything. Now that they're closer to 270 by the Old Navy and they seemed to be busy ALWAYS. This was not my option....I prefer two other Mexican restaurants but my husband insisted bc he through the new location would be much better. Well......wait wasn't too bad. I mean they flip these tables so damn fast it was actually impressive. Salsa and chips come immediately after you sit down. Server took a while but no biggie. He took our drink order and then took our food order. I ordered Chicken Guadalajara....looked just like the picture. Once again tho.....the flavors you get from a Mexican restaurant are always flavorful. Once again it lacked flavor and for $19 I wished I hadn't. Margaritas......I just can't with their margaritas. Super high in sugar and the taste and color is so off putting. I asked for top shelf and I swear I got a regular house margarita and a ton of sour mix. It was so bad it took me forever to drink it . Also why did they have a Jose Cuervo charge to our bill .?!? Service also wasn't good. Once our server took our order we didn't see him again till closer of being done with our food. Drinks were empty and I asked for a water which he never brought either. I'm sorry but there are better Mexican options than this place and never going back either. Peace out !

Best fajitas in town! Both the steak and chicken are succulent - they melt in your mouth. Charro beans and queso are delicious. The chips are light and crisp, and the salsas are fresh and flavorful. The ambience is fabulous at both locations and you can even bring your pup to dine with you on the patio. Such a fantastic spot!

This is a hard review because in my party of 4, my meal was horrible but everyone else had a…read moretasty-gratifying meal. To start, we ordered the guac. It's not authentic guac with chunks of guac, instead it was creamy and didn't have a clumps of avocado or flavor. It was more of a blended consistency with just a smashed avocado flavor. The chips were awesome! I ordered the mahi-mahi tacos. The first one that was brought to the table was fried so well done the fish inside was rubbery and dry, and the outer coating was black. My waiter apologized, visually confirmed that the dish was not right, took the dish and 5-10 minutes later brought out the same dish, assuming this one would be better. It wasn't. The fish was overwhelmingly fishy smelling, dry and overall, I felt like I would've had a better meal at McDonalds ordering their Filet o' fish. Ugh! The waiter took the one bite eaten from the taco dish and removed it from the ticket. He asked if he could bring me something else, but so much time had passed between the last 2 mix-ups that for me to order anything to replace the meal, my party would've left me at the table so I just had chips for dinner. Where I see an issue, is one would think a manager would've come over apologizing, or something. Yet, I felt like the bad guy sent to her room with no dinner. When the bill came, the waiter, what I feel like intentionally put the bill directly in front of another person from our party rather than in the center of the table. Probably because that person loved his meal... A person in my party got the 3 taco dinner- only ate one taco. Packaged up the other two tacos. I paid, tipped 20% assuming it wasn't the waiter's fault. And we walked out. We got to the front door, the person in my party that had boxed up the 2 tacos realized she left her box at the table, turned around 1-2 minutes after leaving, went back to the table and our waiter said he threw away the box! It wasn't busy ... I understand wanting to clean a table, but there should be some protocol of if this happens, maybe the bussers have x number of minutes before they throw away a meal that someone intentionally boxed up to take home. So -2 stars- I won't go back but if you try this place you might get something delish. My hope is you fall on the positive side of these reviews.

My wife loved her tostada and my fajitas were good...not great. The chicken seemed to not have a lot of flavor. The Margarita's on the ricks were good...again, not great. What is odd it that I was charged for Vegetarian Fajitas as well. I did not look at my receipt until I was 2,000 miles away. The Manager of Chavas credited my Visa was he informed of the issue. Again, Maricela was key in rectifying the issue. Chavas was very good and we would return if in the area.

Hope that this is not a premonition of what might be to come for this location! We were seated right away and there were some fans going which made the dining area a little warm but still decently comfortable considering it was 90 degrees outside. Chips and salsa are complementary here as they are at most Mexican restaurants. Chips are thin and light & the salsa is flavorful but without any heat. I ordered the carne asada quesadilla. It comes with pico, guacamole, & sour cream on the side. The quesadilla came out hot as did all of the other entrees. The portions for this entree are huge. It is a large burrito size flour tortilla folded in half and cut into 4. It could easily be split between two people especially if you order a side of rice/ beans to go with it. The pico & guacamole tasted great & were excellent accompaniments to the quesadilla. Service was good & friendly as well!

I prefer the quesadillas with some of the more unique flavors, especially since the price point is very reasonable and you get a fair portion of food. Service: very good. They have QR codes at each table that you can order and pay straight from your phone, which is very convenient and the food always comes out pretty quickly. The staff here is always so nice. Ambience: the majority of the eating area is outdoors in a heated tent. It's a nice vibe and lets you feel like you're sitting outside without actually having to be outside. Parking isn't too bad here, there's a small parking lot right behind the restaurant and then there is typically ample street parking. It can get quite busy at peak times, but they have a great pick up option as well.
