Chili's - Bars Near Me - Johnson City, Tennessee

Located at the end of the shopping mall area, there is plenty of parking. The handicapped spaces are close to the building near the door. The entrance is along the side of the building through a set of double doors. Although this area could get full when they are really crowded, there is a decent amount of room to get through. Walking in, we were greeted by the hostess right away. The dining area was mostly full for lunch but there were several tables in the bar area so we were seated right away. We noticed the overhead music was rather loud, maybe because we were in the bar area, but we could still talk without shouting. Our server, who was also the bartender, came by right away for the drink order. We asked for a few minutes to look over the menu. A different server brought our drinks in about a minute and the bartender returned shortly and took our food order. We ordered off the "3 for me" limited special menu, each selecting one of the two different burgers. For the appetizer, we selected the chips and salsa and a cup of the loaded potato soup. Both arrived within a couple minutes. The chips and salsa are average at best. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce with some cumin added and the chips were cold, thin, and from a bag. There were a lot of chips though, so I guess that is good. The loaded potato soup was also average. It was somewhat creamy and there were a couple small pieces of potato included, but the volume was very small. No more than four or five spoonfuls. The burgers arrived after about 10 minutes, brought by another server. Both the QP and Smashburger were larger than expected. Each was cooked completely without being dry and were seasoned nicely. The other included items were fresh and plentiful. The bun also tasted fresh. The only real complaint here is there was more ketchup and mustard on the QP than necessary, which made a bit of a mess while eating. The accompanying fries were hot, fresh, and plentiful. Both burgers were quite good and certainly worth the special menu price, even with the less than stellar appetizers. Our bartender server was very good, as were the other two who brought the drinks and entrees. He remained watchful without intruding and made sure we had everything we needed, checking after each item was served. This was a good lunch experience. read more

Avoid the Mac and Cheese! Very watery and the pasta was not à la dente, it was hard! I think the pic pretty much tells the story of course they exchanged it with no problem. Other than that, everything was okay. read more

Really enjoyed our visit to this location today; very good burgers on the $11 three-for-me deal. Similar cost to fast food combos these days, but better quality. The loaded mashed potatoes were also good. The fries were basic but still good. Their side salad is rather small but a pretty good appetizer. Very friendly and attentive service staff; Kendra was great. Our food came out quickly and was warm. The seating area was clean and not crowded at lunch. Kendra hooked us up with large to-go drinks which was nice for our long ride home. read more

I must say that this location really delivered. From the drinks to the appetizers to the entree, the entire dining experience was great and our party was quite large and taken care of greatly! I started out with the queso and chips. It also comes with salsa. It was a good portion size that's sharable with the entire table. I also had the holiday drink that they had. It was so good I had to get two, lol! For my meal I had their popular dish...the Triple Dipper. I had the honey crispers, sliders, and egg rolls. All it was really good and filling. I couldn't eat it all. Our servers were great as well. They were very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire afternoon. I always love a good Chili's experience. read more

I was there a few days ago and Nathan Proffitt, the server, was there and he refused to serve me food. I had visited there about two years ago and neglected to tip him and went back the next day to apologize and to make it up to him, but he refused to serve me. A few days ago I went back and was going to eat, but he was the server and he sent the manager on duty over to me to tell me that they weren't going to serve me. Very unprofessional! I told him that was fine and I would eat at Cheddar's instead. I reported them both to Chili's corporate. There are a lot of choices and it's their loss. We were deeply disappointed by our recent visit to Chili's. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold, making it hard to enjoy our meal. The food quality has noticeably declined. For example, we paid an extra $3 x 2 for cheese fries, but the cheese was non existent and a sprinkle of bacon (very little) and ranch was so runny it was unusable for dipping. The tortillas were stale, and the issues didn't stop there. When we brought this up to our waitress, she simply shrugged. I also briefly spoke to the manager on the way out who half way apologized but offered no real resolution. No, I wasn't looking for a free meal or discount only frustrated and wanted him to know. For nearly $100, we expected far better than food we could've made at home. It's a shame to see such a lack of care at this location. read more

Wow bad day for everyone at chili's today. Service started out ok but after the food came she was no where to be found. Worst burger I have ever had, tasted like someone dumped a salt shaker on it and cooked it to death. I usually like my food on the saltier side but I couldn't even eat it. This has been my 5th visit here. Ski far they've done a great job each time. Zero problem, food has been spot on and service has been impeccable! Chip and salsa. Chips were done right, not greasy and not salty... salsa was thick and not watery. Not hot but a nice blend of flavors. Old timer with cheese and fries. Classic burger. Deliver hot and with ample hot fries! Burger was moist, not dry or hard. Bun was heated and fresh. Sure get a burger elsewhere, but they've been hitting home runs for us all our last visits. Ordered curb side pick up. We arrived early and soon saw that the manager was assisting all take out orders. We received our food on time and just as we ordered. Temp was perfect, good meal. I want to point out the the manager Colton went above and beyond what was expected and provided great service. I highly recommend this Chili's. We will be returning. read more

First time back in years. And last. Did not enjoy taste of Santa Fe Chicken at all, plus too spicy. Plus, when did the trend be to not give the customer their coin change back, when change was due?? Grant you - it wasn't much, but this has happened to me at other restaurants, and I find it very resentful - and such to be in very poor taste. (had $5.12 coming back - received the $5). Surely I don't need the 12cents - but it is the principle of the thing. Do they pocket the change? Or forget? Or assume that any change is theirs?? Whatever..... good bye Chili's. read more

My family and I ate at Chili's this evening and we were sat in a booth as you can see in the photo and the railing and wall that separates the two separate booths was completely dusty and the picture I have provided doesn't even do it justice on just how disgustingly dusty it was not to mention our food is so close to it all you had to do was just blow on it and you would've had dust in your food. It was also caked with dried up condiments, you can tell it obviously has not been wiped down or cleaned in a long while. The other picture I have shown is the meal I had which is a combination plate of ribs chicken strips with corn on the cob french fries and a piece of Texas toast. The chicken strips were so thin it clearly does not look like the picture nor was it appetizing, I was expecting a little thicker chicken strips than that I felt like I was eating a kids meal. The corn on the cob was pretty spicy but with good flavor the only problem was that it was clearly boiled and it was wet and soggy, definitely not the way you want your corn on the cob. Everything else was pretty good and I would probably like to have this again if the corn had been grilled like it should be and the chicken strips were a little larger. I do have to say the service was very nice and besides those two items we did have a good experience. I truly hope that this review is viewed by some type of management at the Johnson City establishment because basic cleaning is a must especially when you have food nearby, you would think this would be a part of their nightly cleaning or at least once a week but clearly that is not the case. read more

This may not be completely fair to the store but they are responsible for the product ordered for home delivery. $55 order of Texas loaded fried which were awful. Dry, over cooked, and little to no cheese topping. What used to be my favorite, the Southwestern Egg Rolls, were mushy and pretty much all black beans. The bacon Cheeseburger was an over cooked mess and their beef quality has sunk lower than McD's. Finally the cookie with ice cream and chocolate syrup was terrible. Don't know how you overlook a big thick cookie, but they nailed it. It was so hard I literally could not cut it or eat it. Overall, $55 split between the toilet, and the trash can. My last Chili's visit in person or delivery style. read more

Took the wife and our daughter into the Chili's at Johnson City TN for a quick late lunch. We ordered two fried cheese appetizers, half rack of Baby Backs for the little one, I had the Fajita Trio and the wife ate Quesadillas. To be quite blunt, we were very disappointed with our trip here. I'm not sure how Cheese sticks can be screwed up, but these were from the beginning. They were apparently old and tasted like such. Also, ice tea arrived and it was apparently old and strained through some type of paper prior to being served. The entrees were good and hit the spot, but the service was horrid. Our waitress was good enough, but getting our order to the table was like an act of Congress. We were only moments away from me leaving, when the food actually arrived. Don't know who the manager is, but they need to be hiring the cook some help if food takes this long to come out. Sad. read more

Teddy was able to keep myself and my 7 other family members drink filled, food came out so fast, was so friendly, and kept our table clean. So, I had an unfortunate incident last night that involved Chili's... Using the Door Dash app, I ordered dinner for me and my husband, this was around 6:50pm. I watched the app show me that they were making our food and Dashers names would pop up but then disappeared. At 8pm I finally called Chili's only to find out that our food had been packaged and ready for pickup by 7:13pm and no Dashers had shown up, Chili's had several other orders waiting as well... This was in no way Chili's fault and when I spoke to a staff member and the manager Vicki, they were very kind, understanding, and apologetic! Vicki offered to make it right by providing a free dinner to us and she gave me numbers to Door Dash and Chili's customer service. I was not able to reach DD, but was successful in finally cancelling the order and my payment method was refunded. I hope DD makes this right with Chili's as they were out the cost of food and employee time! Of course, just a note, I was not angry at Chili's and I was nice and spoke to them with respect! It was definitely not their fault! Chili's is number 1 in my book and we will continue to support them when choosing a restaurant. read more

So here is my updated review on this chilis . The chips were oily as crap and bendy . My husbands carrots were hard and dry . My $12 salad had little to no lettuce . The shrimp was cold and it is grilled shrimp . The salad was warm and i complained and the manager brought out more lettuce and didn't apologize or anything . I will never order another salad . Im so disappointed . Either they need a new manager or new staff or better salad makers . Idk but it was terrible . read more

I never expected to leave a 5 star review for a Chili's. The Chili's in the area where I live are pretty bad and I'll probably not go to them again. The one in Johnson City was very good. Went in around 6:30 on a Thursday night with 3 kids under 10 and 2 adults. One adult and the 10 year old got the 3 for $10 deal. One got the Explosion Salad. One kid got mac and cheese and oranges. The last kid got chicken and fries. Everybody was satisfied with their meals. They were all tasty. I got one of the 3 for $10 meals. Loaded potato soup, honey chipotle crispers with fries and corn on the cob, and a raspberry tea. The soup needed a bit of salt, but other than that everything was so delicious. The corn on the cob was tender and sweet and cooked perfectly. Chicken was excellent. I wish I could duplicate the sauce and the finish on it. It was that good, and I was definitely surprised. We got free salsa and chips for signing up on their email. I thought it was just for one small portion, but it was a sharing size plus the waitress brought out a second basket after the kids had eaten all of the first one. Friendly waitress. Clean restaurant. I'd come back to this location without hesitation. read more

So, I have been to a lot of chili's and have had bad and good experiences. This was my best experience at chili's in awhile. I sat at the bar and got great service from Nathan. The meal came out very quickly and was absolutely perfect. So not only did I get great service I got good quality food as well. I also got a great pout on my drink. I eat here often. All of the food is good. Overall it's a great place to eat with good service. However, there are times when the service is severely lacking. The staff isn't good at staying friendly and efficient when busy, seems like they get unorganized easily. Wouldn't recommend eating here during busy times, your food will be messed up and you won't get great service. Any other time, it's great. read more

Just left this place. The food was alright the service was excellent. I'm not a big fan because they have so many tv's its hard to focus on the conversation in front of you. It can get really loud too. But... if you go there with people you don't like there are plenty of distractions. We had a gift card that's really the only reason we went. Other than that can't complain it gets very crowded so try to beat the lunch crowd or go around 3 or 4 you will probably have the place to yourself. read more

As always Chili's has the best food in town. The wait staff is always ready to assist with any questions you have and to bring you your food in a timely manner. The call ahead seating is a nice feature when you have a big crowd or no you'll be in a hurry. However, we've never had to wait very long. I've told everyone I know about the fajitas at Chili's. The best you can get anywhere! My husband and I agree the fajitas are better than you can get at any Mexican restaurant. I've never had a bad experience at Chili's, it's by far my favorite of all restaurants. Love the raspberry tea and the southwest eggrolls too. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
