Artery, atleast shred it up with the rest of the meat next time

Found an artery in my birria quesadilla. Will never be back. Service wasn't very great. Very overpriced and poor quality.

Really becoming one of my favorite dinner spots! Love that I can get stuff just a bit more authentic. Try just asking the waitstaff for their favorite then give it a try. Went that way tonight and got the Birria tacos. Oh my and I mean oh my! The flavor was off the hook and the tacos were packed full with meat.

I loved this place, but after my experience today I can no longer support this business or speak good about it. I ordered a quesbirria halfway through my quesadilla I bit into something hard, I thought maybe it was a bone, would've been no big deal, but as much as I wish it wasn't, I had gotten someone's nail that they bit off and spit in the food. Accidents absolutely happen but in a scenario like this there is no reason why this should've happened, lack of care and respect from the kitchen, raises a lot of concerns on how sanitary they are. I spoke with a manager, got my refund, offered to remake another but there is no way I'm ever eating anything from there again if they keep this same kitchen staff.

Enchiladas verdes-perfect!

Great fresh yummy tacos including chorizo, enchiladas and chimichangas. The free bean dip was extremely tasty and I usually don't like beans. And also great service. Glad to have a great Mexican place in the way to the airport. Next time I'll have to try the mole and more authentic dishes.

Tacos in a torture device. Just put 'em on the plate next time please.

A great experience here. Decor is pretty standard. Everything was clean. Everything was greatly flavorful. If you eat at a lot of Mexican restaurants you know not to expect much out of the rice. It's ok to expect the rice to be really good here. Very well seasoned rice that was cooked well. I had carnitas tacos and it was one of the best carnitas I have ever had. I'm like Jonny depp (cept I don't kill the cook), I try carnitas in every restaurant so I've had lots. I was happy to see they served a bean dip with the chips. Like everything else it had a pleasing and unique flavor that was more than just bean flavor. The salsa was good if not terribly unique. I was a little disappointed with the taco shells though. They seemed preformed and were mad with a very thin tortilla so the kinda shattered. The reason I decided to come here was the pics of tacos that had obviously handmade shells. You see what I got in the pic. And that taco holder, ugh. What a yankee thing to do huh? Everything else was so good though that I will def be back. Service was A1. Another reason I'll be back.

Pollo Picoso no onions. Very delicious but you cannot beat the tacos!!!

Really awesome new place in Gray that we decided to try on a whim. The food was incredible and the staff was great. This is authentic Mexican food and its very different than the normal variety around the Tri Cities. I know this place is going to do very well in the area and it absolutely blows its competition down the road out of the water!!! They will be serving alcohol soon but we were told that until they do, we could bring our own and they will supply the glasses!

Carne Asads

Generous servings, polite and attentive staff, and delicious food! Chimichangas and Carne Asada

Birria tacos

Lived the food Big portions. Could only finish one taco of the 3. Nice upbeat music. Gem in the backwoods.

Really good food, but much too pricey. Over $16 out the door for two tacos and a smalller than average chile relleno, No drink, just water.

Good food for area. Chili Rellano was quite good. Chips and salsa were kind of tame. Service good.

Puerto Nuevo - Chips and sauce

We will not be back to this place.... My bf ordered beef…read morenachos and a order of cheese sauce with chips. I ordered a burrito with shrimp, octopus, a whole poblano, avocado, shredded cheese all inside the burrito. I also asked for a lot of limes on the side. They came out after we took our order to go so he could check on it because he asked me numerous times about the cheese I wanted. I had said I do not want anything on top of my burrito and hate the liquid cheese. The person who made my burrito used the liquid cheese, similar to nacho cheese consistency on top. No shredded cheese inside. So they didn't give my bf his cheese sauce he paid for. My burrito was nasty. They didn't put a whole poblano, the first half of the burrito had a few small pieces of poblano, barely any octopus, no shredded cheese inside, they didn't give me any limes. I HATE this crap cheese sauce that "mexican" food places use in Tennessee. Legit Mexican food places don't use this fake liquid cheese. My bf said his nachos were good. Problem is.. I was on the toilet all night because of this cheese. I say this because it was the same cheese they put on his nachos and... he was sick to his stomach for the rest of the night and then he had his turn on the toilet.

My husband ordered five enchiladas each with a different stuffing. While delicious, unless you haven't eaten since last Thursday, who can consume so many enchiladas?! I shouldn't talk. The house special quesadilla -- always excellent -- is a lot of food. Ever resourceful, I took half back, put the chicken and peppers on a bagel and ate it for breakfast! (Note to self AND my husband: next time let's split one and maybe forego the steak and chicken. Chorizo and shrimp?!) Moving on, the salsa bar is great with smooth, chunky, mild and spicy salsas. That's not counting the warm bean spread brought to the table with their thin and crisp chips. Our margaritas -- $6 each -- are not only good but pretty, topped with berries and a flower. Here it is, Monday night -- not a typical going-out day of the week -- and the place is busy with locals. Pretty good testimony to what's become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.

Hearty, authentic Mexican food which came out in the span of a few minutes. I just pointed at something on the vegetarian menu and was very pleased with what I got. The portions are quite large, too. We felt a bit rushed, but they were closing soon so it was understandable. Get an order of the table side guacamole if you want to complete the holy trinity of salsa and pico de gallo with your chips. I was wondering if it's all homemade, because the salsa and guacamole were delicious, and pico de gallo was super fresh!

Literally any restaurant can do that. They said they have to do the rice and the beans on the side and the guacamole on top with red sauce. I said just put the guacamole on the side and burritos shouldn't have sauce on it. She kept repeating it has red sauce I said no sauce strictly this stuff I said only. Doesn't take a rocket scientist... she kept saying cheese sauce I said No, we want cheese, literal cheese, not any sauce anything. I also ordered shrimp fajitas and steak nachos with just steak and cheese, and the burrito above. The chicken in the burrito was kind of dry, like they possibly boiled it then shredded it. Her food wasn't very flavorful. My bf said that his nachos were tasty but needed more cheese sauce. My plate wasn't flavorful at all. To me it seems like this is more Tex-Mex with white people in the kitchen. iI from California and have been to Mexico many time..so I know authentic Mexican food and this doesn't come anywhere near it. The salsa taste like they just mixed some tomato paste with a little bit of seasoning

We're spoiled with good Mexican food in Jonesborough now…read more El Lagunero has my favorite business model. "Do a few things and do them very well." I usually go for tortas (carnitas, steak, or al pastor which is seasoned chopped pork) . With everything including pineapple, jalapeños, and extra green sauce. I'm told that the red sauce can be a little hot. I like it, but prefer the flavor of the green sauce. In the summer I love Aguas frescas. Pineapple is my favorite and they make a delicious example here. I got hooked on tortas honestly. Back when the world was a kinder place, a bunch of GIs would go to Ciudad Juarez on weekends. Partly because we weren't old enough to drink on our side of the Rio Grande. Fresh out of the combat zone, I would drink enough to believe that I could dance. There were three fun girls. Kayra, Kenya, and Keira. Blondes. They had their own money, but indulged me to buy the occasional drink or late night meal. They would navigate the back streets to the best places that I'd never be able to find on my own. Always tortas. I think they were trying to sober me up. Turns out that would take another 20+ years. El Lagunero takes me back a few decades in the best kind of way. I'm still in touch with most of the guys that served together then. I hope they enjoy a good torta from time to time.
