Steak and chicken fajitas
Jason B.

On a Friday night this was a welcome sight for our first time in Boone. We were able to get seated quickly and sat in the back room. You could smell the food cooking. Fairly rustic back there but clean. Put young server was nice and pleasant. Chips and salsa were good although I personally like my chips a little thinner. We got the chicken and chorizo with rice - delicious and had a clean plate - and the steak/chicken fajitas- huge portion and cooked perfectly. The tortillas were fresh and tasty. The cold beer - Pacifico- was Ice cold and went perfect with the meal. Good service and you pay up front. Really good family Mexican restaurant in Boone. I recommend giving it a try.

We love this place!!!!! Best bean dip and guac and burrito and tacos. Good veggeterian options too

Ice cold beers while we waited for our take out.

Had a couple beers while waiting for our take-out order. Ordered 3 burrito Mexicanos to go. All came stuffed with tender steak and chicken and they included sides of creamy queso, salsa verde & hot salsa. Amazing flavor just enough heat to make you mouth tingle Check this place out!

Tacos

The best!! The tacos are amazing. Get the queso. The best Mexican food in the mountains.

Pollo Fiesta-grilled chicken with spinach, and mushrooms over rice with queso.

Went on the evening of December 14th, service was excellent and the food was really fresh and delicious. We had the Pollo Fiesta and the Pollo Fogon, both had very tasty grilled chicken, one had spinach outshoot salad and queso the other had shrimp, grilled peppers and onions both were over rice. The only negative is the parking situation can be challenging when it is busy.

Big portions. Pretty good. Ambiance is casual. We did take out so no service comment. Not a ton of veggies, but otherwise fine. I'd go back.

Great food, and great people. Service was quick. Maybe 10 minutes before you get your food. It's a hole in the wall type of restaurant

Our family dined at Coyote Kitchen for a late lunch after visiting Hawksnest. I had researched Yelp…read moreprior, and based on the positive reviews and extensive menu I was excited for our family to give it a try. We were greeted promptly and were able to snag a table. I was surprised to see such a large crowd dining that time of day (2:30). But despite the busy flow of customers, service was wonderful, eager to answer questions, and very attentive. We started with the yuca fries. The absolute BEST I have ever had! Fresh, warm, well seasoned, and large portion. Our family of 5 ordered the Sedona bowl, Black & Blue burger, burrito, one of the boats, and the quesadilla, plus sweet fries and regular fries. We all thoroughly enjoyed our entrees! And loved all the fresh salsa options! Prices were also very reasonable! When we are in the area again, we will definitely return to Coyote Kitchen!

This place was a disappointment! We saw plenty of good reviews and were tempted by the extensive…read moremenu so we decided to give it a try. Our waitress was nice and friendly but definitely struggling and the food itself was very mediocre. We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday and sat outside as a group of 7. We started with waters and then a couple trays of chips and salsa. We opted for the house fire roasted and pico options. The chips were a good portion but each one came with maybe one ounce of each sauce...for the 7 of us. We asked for extras and so she brought out one of each... I ordered a chicken vegetable soup which the menu stated was served with a cornbread muffin. When the soup came there was no cornbread so I asked for that and upon her return she said it would be an extra $2.50 even though I literally pointed to the menu to show her that was not written anywhere lol The soup was okay, probably Would've been better with the muffin but I wasn't going to argue over it anymore. For my entree I got two southwest chicken tacos. And those were disappointing as well. Packed with a lot but just did not deliver on flavor, and the poblano cremosa salsa I got was pretty bland too. Overall sentiment from other friends was similar- they ordered bowls, burritos etc but found a lot was left to be desired with their dishes. Come payment time, I opted to use cash since the menu stated 3% surcharge for credit. When I gave her a $20, she returned my tab (after processing the others who put a card in) and I explained I had left cash, to which she asked "oh do you want me to give you a 10 and two 5s?" And I explained, No I just want to pay with cash, I only need the change. And then she gave me the wrong amount of change. So all around this spot was definitely a let down. @azfitfoodfun

Timing was…read moredifferent during one of my recent trips, so I started thinking about Boone dining options (used to live nearby). Dos Amigos came to mind, though I bet it's been a decade or more since I last ate there, so I had no clue what to expect. As the previous sentence reveals, this restaurant has been a tenant in the New Market Center shopping complex for quite a while. Mexican food and adult beverages seem to belong in a college town, after all. And the restaurant was well attended during my visit, a good sign that the restaurant was still deserving of my business. That said, I was seated and attended to very quickly. The complimentary chips and wide variety of accompanying dips (five options!) were a strong start to the meal. Thankfully, I somehow managed to save enough room for the main event, a lovely plate of carnitas that arrived in a reasonable time. Joining the pork on my plate was guac salad and a healthy portion of beans. I found myself pleased with all the food I was presented. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food I received, and the quality of service I received throughout my stay was excellent. Dos Amigos is a bit noisy, and the dining arrangements do show a bit of wear and tear, but if you don't mind those things I'd call this a smart stop for a filling meal. Maybe one day I won't be traveling onward and I can sample the bar options here...

This restaurant provides 5 different dips/salsas for free at the table, which is a nice change. Friendly and attentive staff, bustling but not unbearably noisy. Fun place to grab a meal with friends. I would eat here again.

The woman on the phone spoke broken English (which only makes sense considering the current state of our border to the south). I ordered the lunch fajitas. I was specific about beef, and I specifically said Carne Asada. After I picked up my order, I had a few phone calls come in, so I did not witness my food until about 45 minutes later. The only part of the order that they got right was my small side of guacamole. Other than that, they completely botched the order! WTF?!?Mind you by the way, when I entered the restaurant, it was completely dead, aka EMPTY. There was absolutely zero reason for the kitchen to "F" this up. The only reason I gave two stars is because the food looks OK. I have not even tasted it yet. Oh yeah, they forgot the rice too! Seriously?!?!? I doubt this will occur, but TO THE OWNERS... you guys should have kept the original restaurant you had before this. Foggy Rock it was called?? It was great! The appetizer trout tar tar, or whatever it's called was amazing! Sucks that's gone now. Boone/BR already has enough quality Hispanic restaurants. Cut your losses and let this one go.
