Definitely the best mexican restaraunt in Boone. Everything they have is the best quality and is always prepared surprisingly quick. The only downside is how expensive they got. I just got a large chips and queso and a mexican coke and it was $20. I had already placed the order and they didn't tell me the price over the phone so i didn't know. Enjoyed a tasty lunch at this very popular restaurant. When you walk in the first thing you see is a wall with all of their awards including quite a few Best Mexican Restaurant and Best Burrito. The decor is fun and colorful and sets the mood for a fiesta. I ordered a drink off the menu board, unfortunately I don't remember the middle word but it was a Smoky ___ Margarita, with Mezcal, it was definitely smoky and definitely large. The chips and salsa both appeared to be house made and were good. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered a beef enchilada and cheese enchilada a la carte. I was shocked to learn that the cost of large chips and queso and a mexican coke is 20$!!!!!! That didn't even seem right. The food was completely bland--no seasoning, no flavor, nothing remotely close to what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. Everything tasted old, greasy, and thrown together with zero care. This place is big with a variety of dishes on their menu. However, the serving of meat I got on my food item was small IMO. I also asked for flour tortillas and instead got corn tortillas. Ran across this restaurant on Google and decided to call and ask about wait times. They thankfully had no wait time, so we decided to eat Mexican for lunch. Chips and salsa were amazing. Chips were nice and crispy, and the salsa was flavorful. I ordered their 4 taco meal that comes with rice or beans. I opted for both beans and rice. The steak tacos, unfortunately, were not the best. The tortillas felt and tasted like they were microwaved and had been sitting out for a while. The steak was mildly warm, and the tortillas were starting to harden. Meat had no flavor, and just the tortillas being hard did not make it for a great taco. Rice and beans were good, though. I ended up giving up on the tortilla and just adding the steak into the rice and beans. I also ordered the agua de Jamaica, which was delicious. Our waitor was friendly. Overall, everyone else had an "eh" experience with their food also. Nothing spectacular. I'm not sure if I would ever return, but if I happen too, I may just try something else. read more

It was 6:09, my friend arrived at my house and insisted we ordered Los Arcoiris, I told her it was risky (because of previous experience) but she was determined to get the enchiladas. We ordered 2 orders of cheese enchiladas, beans and rice, an order of chicken ACP and 2 sweet teas. Once it got here i was humping up and down in excitement. "Yeah J!" my friend exlaims. I grab the bags as my non mexican delivery driver calls me fat. I sat the first bag of drinks on the counter and realized my teas were spilled everywhere creating a pool in the bag. Strike one. I open the next bag, ONE order of cheese enchiladas, notice i ordered 2. Strike 2. My sister opens her meal, has her first bite and realizes the chicken is sus (disgusting). Strike 3. This experience was exceptionally underwhelming. Me and my friend only got one enchilada each which happened to be terrible. Overall worst experience ive ever had. My driver shamed me and food was traumatizing. Thanks los...for nothing. I dont know whether to cry or throw up. Bad. read more

The person behind the bar definitely knows what he/she is doing. My margarita's on the rocks were so smooth. I always order Patrón in my 'rita. After my first, the waiter suggested a different tequila for the next. Another great drink for sure. The presentation of food was great. My steak was cooked as ordered and very tender. The booths and chairs have character and not in the worn sort of way but colorful and comfortable. He food is delicious served piping hot. Oh my gosh! I just went here to get dinner and we noticed the health rating was 87.5 but we decided to stay anyways. We ordered cheese dip which was good and then my boyfriend and I ordered an acp to share. When we got it everything looked fine but once we split it we realized there was raw chicken completely raw. We waited for our waitress to come back and barely got an apology from her or the manager for being served raw chicken and they proceeded to ask us if we wanted anything else. The service was great. The prices seemed really good until we got the food. The servings are large, but the food is mediocre. The beef was _just beef_ -- no seasonings I could discern. The pablano chilli in the chilli releno was tough as leather. I could barely get through it with a knife. The filling was just some sticky cheese. It wasn't just one releno with that problem, either. All four of us got a lunch combo with the chilli, and all of us gave up on eating them. The refried beans were thin as soup. The rice had no flavor at all. This has always been my family's go to Mexican restaurant in Boone. We come back for the amazing friendly staff, great low prices, and consistently awesome food. The boyfriend and I took my grandma to get some of the cheapest lunch specials on town. Lunch specials run daily starting at 11 when they open. We were some of the first customers of the day, and our meals came out perfectly hot and tasty. If you like a good Chile Relleno make sure to ask for their whole poblano peppers, trust me you won't regret it! I'm editing this review because my husband got violently sick as we left the restaurant . He puked all over the parking lot. He ended up severe food poisoning and was in the hospital for 5 days. He was the only one who ate the shrimp and chicken fajitas. The rest of us ate red meat and veggies. I'll never eat seafood in the mountains again. If not for my husband getting sick , I would give this place 3 stars. This place has amazing service - the owner and his staff are great. The mango margarita was outstanding . Among the best I've had The food was meh. I'm accustomed to Texas Mexican food and the food here caters to the bland palate of its clientele. I prefer the robust , lively flavors of Mexican food. He is in a work environment, especially a dining-on; scowling at a random person's face because they asked you a question is completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Amazing service!! We were waiting for one more to join us and the server came outside to see if we needed anything to drink and how many were in our party. Were patient focus to move inside. As we were there 45 minutes to close, they did not pressure us to order. My wife gets migraines and they adjusted the lights for us, which was greatly appreciated. We eat Mexican food back in florida 2x to 3x a week. We love to cook ourselves also. Love all the different dishes. The service at this restaurant was the worst I've received in years, and the food was sub-par to mediocre at best. I don't think our table actually got assigned to a waiter or waitress as we had 4 visits from 4 people while we were there, and none of them ever came back. At one point a waiter called to us from halfway across the room while cleaning another table to ask if we wanted a margarita refill. We declined, but did ask for water refills. Even then, he didn't come back. After waiting a while for a check, we eventually had to just get up and go to the register to pay. Overall, they were disorganized, inattentive, and even somewhat rude. The guacamole was good, but the tortillas (both corn and flour) were stale bordering on rancid. Food overall was bland, and dramatically inferior to other local restaurants like Taqueria El Paso. We will not be going here again. read more
